HYPOCRISY UPON HYPOCRISY!

When are we going to be truthful for once?! The paid propagandist called Beaf now supports this statement. Btw, Diligence there is nothing wrong with your post. In fact, your post sums up the truth and I support it.

Diligence: Focus on the message, not the messenger! Truth hurts but must the spoken! That's how healing process takes place; retrace and reset!
Beaf: Simples. cool
Its funny how this paid propagandist called Beaf supports the "focus on the message not the messenger" but did not say the same thing when Buhari made his speech!

Beaf, how much was paid for your soul?! Now, you can't speak the truth FOR ONCE, all you do now is stammer about like a deranged cow. What a shame! Your children will asking these same question when the time comes!

I'm not pan-african, AT ALL. I'm simply trying to drive home a point. Most of these guys believe that some groups will "automatically" be with them in whatever republic they dream of. Well, the truth is, if Nigeria is to split and there is no Southern Nigeria where progressive ideas and hardwork will be our binding force; then, there will not be a Biafra with ND or an Odua with ND, neither will the SS be Niger-delta republic. We are all going to find our square root (the very root). cool

GEJ is a good man
but with his advisers, who needs enemies?! They (his advisers, ex-militants like Dokubo and co) have reduced his presidency to a tribal/regional sit! He is seen as an ethnic president instead of a National president! What a shame! undecided

More knocks came the way of President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday over his response to General Muhammadu Buhari's warning against rigging in the 2015 elections.

Former President- General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, said Gen. Buhari was being unnecessarily vilified, noting that worse statements had been uttered by other people. This, he said, includes the "do or die" declaration by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ikedife said: "It is necessary that we speak the truth and face the fact. Buhari should be praised for having the courage to say it the way he saw it and to sound a note of caution. And I want us to take that note of caution seriously.

It is important that we evaluate the message rather than kill the messenger. His words are not worse than the man who declared that 'this election is do or die'. I think what Buhari is saying is 'don't win by hook or crook and that they should allow the opinion of Nigerians to prevail.

"Any person who faults that should tell us what he wants Nigeria to look like. It is absolutely necessary. If we want to entrench true and proper democracy, it should be one man, one vote. Every vote should count and be accounted for."

Ikedife does not see Buhari as desperate for anything other than his yearning "for a peaceful Nigeria where true democracy thrives. And he should not be vilified."

In the same vein, Second Republic governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa described the controversy generated by Buhari's statement as totally unnecessary, arguing that even President Jonathan had, in the past, made statements that have greater security implication for the country than Buhari's.

He said the case of Buhari has attracted more attention only because he is a former head of state. Otherwise, he was merely saying what every other Nigerian has been saying in respect of rigging elections.

He said: "The controversy is unnecessary for two reasons. First, what Buhari said is what every other Nigerian has been saying about the need for free and fair elections. But because Buhari is a former head of State, more people react to whatever he says.

"Secondly, even President Jonathan had, in the past, made statements with far greater security implication than what we just heard. If a president said all public institutions have collapsed, isn't that a serious statement with greater security implication?

"With regards to Boko Haram, if the President said Boko Haram has infiltrated all government agencies including the Presidency, is that not of greater security risk?

"Buhari wanted us to be mindful of the implications of rigged elections. If people have forgotten, it was what led to the unrest in the South West and eventually, the coup of the First Republic in 1966. It was also what led to the coup of the Second Republic. So what is wrong in any Nigerian warning against the dangers of rigged elections?

"All I can say is that there is a sinister motive behind the interpretation given to Buhari's warning by the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

"Finally, if people like Buhari and the media, who know more than we know; should keep quiet, what will happen to Nigeria? Won't the situation get worse?"

But the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr Fredrick Fasehun, as he said Buhari's statement cannot be justified by any parameter.

He accused the former military ruler of trying to cause the disintegration of Nigeria by carrying himself as if he were above the laws of the land.

He cautioned him not to teach Nigerians how to disintegrate.

"I personally believe that Buhari can't be adjudged right by any parameter of reasoning. The statement is highly inflammatory and inciting,” he said.

"Buhari has continually carried himself as if he is above the laws of the land. That is why he says anything that comes to his mind without caring for the legal implication of such statements. In fact, I have been waiting for the security agencies to invite him and query him for such utterances that tend to teach Nigerians how to disintegrate.

"The other day he was invited to the Oputa Panel, but he refused to show up and nothing was done to him. Obasanjo, as the president of the country then, was there at the Oputa Panel. Nigeria is greater than him. He should not teach us how to disintegrate. This country will be handed over to the person who will hold it together in unity and peace. Winning elections cannot be by force of violence. He must know that."

Former President General of Ijaw National Congress (INC) Prof. Kimse Okoko, described Buhari's utterances as unstatesmanly. He wondered how a man of Gen Buhari's standing could allow his emotion to becloud his sense of judgment, saying Nigeria has witnessed too much bloodshed.

"It is rather unfortunate on the part of General Buhari that he could allow his emotion to becloud his sense of judgment. He has not behaved as a statesman, a former Head of State and a presidential candidate of a leading party in this country before.

"Already, there is too much bloodshed in the land.Of what need is his calling for more bloodshed. That statement is unstatesmanly. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria will not be ruled by anybody who is calling for bloodshed. He should be invited to explain whatever he meant. I don't want to believe that he is already training an army somewhere that he would unleash on the country in 2015. It is a very unsavoury statement."

haka_nai: Nigerians, for the first time, unanimously voted for President Jonathan. This was the first time Nigerians rose above religious, ethnic and political divides and voted for a president. They expect so much from him and he knows that. So, the issue of whether he would run in 2015 or not has not arisen. The man has three more years to go for him to decide whether he wants to contest for second term or not.

By 29 May, 2012, he will be one year in office. And if he fails, that is his own business. God has put him there, you have voted for him, have an open mind, give him a chance. When you harass him, he cannot perform. He is a human being.

When Yar’Adua decided to negotiate with the Niger Delta militants, they came to him, they saw him and he fraternised with them. Boko Haram leaders should come out. I am very sure the president will negotiate with them.
THANK YOU Clark!

Btw, Beaf, may God forgive you for lying to me. It was Yaradua that negotiated with Niger-deltan militants not GEJ.

PoliticsJonathan Seeks Intensified Prayers For Nigeria by jason123(op): 3:06pm On May 19, 2012
Abuja – President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday urged the church to continue praying for peace in the country.

Jonathan made the appeal in Abuja while addressing the second session of the 8th Synod of The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Diocese of Abuja, held at St. James Church, Asokoro.

He stressed that with intensive prayers the nation would soon overcome its present security challenges.

The President who was represented by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, commended the church for its continued goodwill to his administration and the nation.

“God will surely respond positively to the situation in the country”, he stated, stressing that Nigeria would come out stronger from its travails as an indivisible nation.

The President commended the Diocese for successfully hosting the second session of the Synod.

Addressing the Synod earlier, the Bishop of Abuja and Primate of The Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev Nicholas Okoh, traced the challenges facing other nations across the world and how most of the nations overcame them.

He assured that “with God by our side, Nigerians will overcome the challenges currently facing the nation.”

Speaking on the theme: “God Is Our Refuge and Strength”, Okoh said “there is presence of God in Nigeria and the presence of God means peace and prosperity”.

“God can order all hostilities to cease. Nigerian security is assured and Nigeria will not fall.”

He stated that God has been delivering Nigeria since its independence in 1960 and that the nation would overcome its present travails.

Okoh called on the Church to examine itself so as to identity where all the social vices plaguing the country were coming from.

“The church must rise up and pray for the nation and the President against all forms of humiliation.

“Nigerians should rely on God and trust in Him because He will not abandon us,” the Primate added. (NAN)

Imo trains doctors, others on emergency rescue mission

Written by Joe Nwachukwu, Owerri
Thursday, 28 July 2011

Determined to rescue the health sector and save lives of its citizens, Imo State government, on Wednesday, concluded the training of doctors, paramedics and security personnel in emergency response mission with respect to accidents and other disasters.

No fewer than 1,000 participants, drawn from the public and private sectors, benefited from the exercise.

About 15 specialists delivered lectures on how to save lives during health-related emergencies.

The special adviser to the state governor on health, Dr Sylvanus Amaechi, whose office coordinated the two-day seminar in collaboration with INFAX Nigeria Limited, described the exercise as “a huge scientific and academic programme geared towards taking health care to the door steps of Imo citizens.”

Dr Amaechi, a renowned orthopedic surgeon and a former president of Nigerian Orthopedic Association, told newsmen that Governor Rochas Okorocha approved the seminar, to keep medical practitioners and security agencies involved in health matters abreast of developments in the management of trauma and accidents.

He said the seminar was conducted free of charge.

He said professionals in the areas of surgery, orthopedic, gynecology, radiography, neo-natal medicine and other specialised areas lectured the participants on quick response measures to emergencies.

“Our governor is not only the commander of free education, he knows that we have to be alive and healthy to benefit from free education, hence his emphasis on this seminar,” Dr Amaechi quipped.

He said the rescue agenda of the Okorocha’s administration was all embracing and that health formed the integral part of his mission.

Dr Amaechi said it was expected that the seminar participants would avail their colleagues of the knowledge they acquired in furtherance of the health policy of the state government.

The special adviser announced that the General Hospital, Umugum,a where the seminar was held, would soon become a specialist hospital.

THERE was jubilation in Owerri, the Imo State capital, as the state governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, on Tuesday, declared that no student or pupil of the state origin studying in any institution owned by the government would pay fees henceforth.

The governor also announced scholarships for all students of the state origin from primary to tertiary institution.

Speaking at the Imo Freedom Square, Owerri, Okorocha promised to pay scholarship of N100,000 to each student of Imo origin in Imo State University, adding that each recipient would get N70,000 free and N30,000 as a loan to be paid upon completion of studies, with no basis for collateral.

He also said students undertaking National Diploma (ND) at the state polytechnics would receive N60,000, with N40,000 free and N20,000 as loan, while those undertaking Higher National Diploma (HND) would get N60,000 free and N20,000 loan.
