jmaine: Personally . .i don't subscribe to the motion that the ACN is conductingor sponsoring the protest . .the students protest was a spontaneous reaction to the "Weak arguement" that "Moshood" is not a tushed name hence de-repping their swag . . .Thank you. Most of them will NEVER understand! You know, anything to fit their purpose! |
Gbawe: Indeed. The guy is not only a hypocrite, he is a bigot with a specific hate/inferiority complex issue against Yorubas that always compels him to do things like this. If he is not mischievously trying to derail any positive thread about the SW with negativity, you will find him making senseless statement slyly trying to disenfranchise Yorubas.Thank you! I followed the link. All I can do is SMH! One more exposed! |
alj harem: I am really waiting for Papabrown to give his excuse this time around.I also dey wait for am! Why can't we ever be objective in Nigeria?! ![]() |
![]() |
Ndigbo, I apologise for using you as an example. Papabrowne, rather I think you exposed your hypocrisy. A few months ago, the University of Nigeria, Nnsuka was about to be renamed after Ojukwu or Nnamdi (not sure which it was). The Igbo kicked against it, no one said the Igbo hates them. Now the Yorubas are doing the same and you brand them hypocrites?? Mister, search your heart well and find out what is biting you. |
I saw this in this book called "The village woman in Ghana" http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=7Z1egGnT3u0C&pg=PA15&dq=ewe+people&hl=en&sa=X&ei=WF7FT_63Iq6Z0QWX4vnlBQ&ved=0CDYQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=ewe%20people&f=false Take a look at page 15. |
Interesting! I once read somewhere that during the Berlin convention in late 1800's. The Yorubas or the Anago people as known back then, were divided into three equal halves. A third in Nigeria, a Third in Benin rep and the last third in Togo. Can someone verify this? |
This is the sort of development I love to hear in Nigeria! |
I can't wait!!! |
ekt_bear: Hehe. This Eziachi is a very wise man. Sounds like just an older, Igbo version of myselfAbeg, don't use "this Eziachi", its "PA Eziachi". ![]() I agree, he is indeed very wise and that does not disturb his pro-biafra stance! Its very hard to combine the two but somehow, he did it. |
Btw, OP, how you take know say Igbo, among others, no dey there (protesters)? No be Unilag again? ![]() |
This is just too hypocritical. Are you telling me GEJ loves Abiola more than his own people??! Love this comment by Pa Eziachi By Eziachi |
Igbo people are long suffering! I commend them for that. Imagine if this had happened to NDeltans or Yorubas; Warri, PH, Benin, Lagos and Shagamu will be BOILING!!! On a second thought, why are the so called traders there in the first place? With the bombings, one would have thought that Southerners would have left the North. ![]() |
This country is effing scary! MEHN! Recipe for genocide all because of MONEY! I wonder why these people refuse to feed their families with these drugs?! |
Funny topic. Even funnier write-up I guess GEJ also exposed the hypocrisy of the Igbo. He tried to rename the University of Nigeria to University of Ojukwu. Why did the Igbo go against it?! We all thought they love Ojukwu?! OP, sorry to say but you are senseless, that is, if you had any to begin with! |
One_Naira: Alj_harem is at it again.Very well said but I wonder why you are still trying to convince yourself?! You have repeated this stuff countless times which tells me you don't believe your own judgement. One_naira, I am who ever you thing I am! Just save yourself the headache! |
In case you were wondering why Nigerians were said to have an average IQ of 67 (https://www.nairaland.com/474936/why-nigerians-others-low-iq) well, this is why! onome25: @poster u & sahara reporters shall rot in hell!!!Through out my e-life on NL, this is the most idiotic statement I have ever seen. CHAI!!! What sort of people are we breeding in Nigeria? |
^^^ ![]() You need serious help! Can't you be happy for others for once?! |
kobikwelu: i think my main concern (and i believe the majority of well meaning forum members) is.... HAVE THE FIRST RAIL PROJECT BEEN COMPLETED??I agree with you! This is my main worry as well. According to sources, it will be completed at the end of this year! I hope it will! |
Well, I'll repeat it. Edos and Yorubas have a good history! A mixture of the two produced the Itsekiris. Do not let anyone or group cause strife between you two. I have both groups in my family. Guys, although this is the internet; try to be watchful of what you say to eachother. Other people will form usernames to cause strife so be watchful. My two kobo! |
PhysicsQED: Hmmm. . .it's really only on NL that I've heard about any Edo or Edoid people perceiving Yorubas as being cowards and backstabbers/betrayers, but I guess I can only speak for and vouch for the people I've come into immediate contact with. Other people will doubtless have their own differing views, though I'd prefer it if they didn't pretend like they were speaking for entire groups when expressing their own views and opinions.Well, it happens! ![]() |
UncleJJ: Truth be told, this is just another conspiracy by the Yoruba people to dominate anything or anyone they can. Yes, Edo and Yoruba share some history but its not enough to say the Edo come from the Yoruba's , even though this is what i was taught in the past. Bt, as we all know - back then the Yoruba "dominated" the education sector and it would have been easy for them to bury the truth.SMH! Re: Should Power Return To The North In 2015? by UncleJJ(m): 9:19pm On Nov 04, 2011 |
In as much as I respect GEJ and I think he should be respected, I'll have to say that he allowed his presidency to be mired by ethnic, religious and regional sentiment which reduced his power base in the country. This coupled with the already frustrating situation in Nigeria gave rise to the discontent he is receiving from Nigerians. I just hope God gives him the wisdom to rule such a complex nation like Nigeria! |
Nice one Jekwu! |
preciousoz: I am not Yoruba and will Never be. When U take a good look at me, U see no tribal Marks, I don't tell lies and betray people so easily. Am not a traitor and definitely not a coward. shymmex: Bro, did you see how papebrowne or whatever his name was, posted the most condescending thrash about Yoruba?Binis do not have any complex. My Bro is married to a lovely Bini woman. Trust me, they are cool people!! In fact, very cool!!! |
shymmex: Bro, did you see how papebrowne or whatever his name was, posted the most condescending thrash about Yoruba?Papabrowne is a PDP man. Lol, simple political fractures. Nothing more! ikachi1: You argue like a child. There was a time the Roman empire extended through out the whole of Europe, Africa and even Asia minor. Today Italy is smaller than the Gauls. (Germans and some French) Latin use to be a language spoken by many. Today, it is no more. Used only in churches. Empires rise and fall. That does not destroy the fact that the empire existed and prosperred. I was witness to Mathew Kerekou's visit to Benin. They had just changed their country's name from Dahomey to Benin. He explained the reason why they did that. They trace their origin to Benin. Whether you like to hear that or not, that is the way it is. If you disagree with something, you must have a different idea with facts. Tell your facts please. When and how did the Bini empire get to Dahomey?! For educational purposes, did Bini EVER conquer the Dahomey Kingdom? I thought it was the Oyos that did the conquering of Dahomey?! |
I am of the opinion that the Bini and Yorubas are twin empires who have mutual respect for each other. Whether one came from the other is IRRELEVANT because the Binis will not look down on the Yorubas and likewise! Binis and Yorubas are twins that can hardly be separated! |
shymmex: Why do they have to bury the head in Yoruba land, and not bini? You guys need to stop making up falsehoods... And olukun is Yoruba!! How can a landlocked bini kingdom worship okun (atlantic ocean) without riverine people?? Even physicsQED won't argue against that..Calm down!!! shymmex: The same bini had to pay the Ijesha warrior (can't remember his name) not to invade ibini.. Believe whatever pseudo-scholarship you want to believe, but bini NEVEr ruled over Ijebu..That was Ogedengbe* (an Ekiti guy) I guess ![]() |
