Ileke-IdI: Honey, just pray that your lies aint true. Because the Yorubas helped get him there and if the Yorubas dont like him anymore, he aint getting back in come 2015.
You simply suport GEJ because he's a Eastern Nigerian man, not because he has the brain or power to make Nigeria work. That there is tribalism. Ezeokwu! You hit the nail on its head. There is a difference when a man is voted based on competence and when is man is voted based on tribalism/regional paraposim. Is the SS any better off? But again, I can understand why they behave the way they did during the elections. ak47mann: no he didn't mean it that way,he meant because yorubas collectively voted for ACN, that's why they lost a lot politically. Lost a lot? In what sense? Please, can someone show me who lost and gained in the after-math of the election? The SOUTH lost a lot. There was a southern solidarity during the election and that is what gave GEJ the victory, NOT 99% VOTES OR THE WIDE SPREAD OF IGBOS IN THE NATION. He knows this, OBJ also knows this. According to the link Harem brought out, the NW gained more than any region so what is all this bragging about? Try to read the link, you'll understand the bigger picture. |

PointB: Olodo. Where was it written elders. It's said Youth.
And why are you holding brief for them? Why are you crying more than the bereaved yourself? Is Ohaneze Yoruba, let alone Itsekiri, for you to even imagine calling them useless elders. Is that how you go about calling other people's elder's useless but would not want yours called same?
For you information, Nigeria is a democracy, and those youth are free to issue whatever communique they deem fit as what happens in the top, affects the bottom. And as far as I am concerned, they have spoken well. If you are looking for useless elders or youth, please search in your backyard where there is deafening silence on Nigeria issue. Guy, I admit, I goofed in the elder/youth stuff. Back to the topic, their statement is kinda stupi.d. Think about it. Who wants a war in Nigeria? Forget the "tales my moonlight" story on NL. I don't want a war neither do the ND want a war. So because of one man, GEJ, Nigeria will go to war? No Nigeria? C'mon, its ridiculous. Nigerians have reached or are reaching an age of maturity where people do not care if you are Igbo, Hausa or Efik. If GEJ is impeached today (God forbid) based on incompetence, there is NOTHING these youths can do except "shout". After all, the senate has the power, don't they? When the North said Nigeria will be ungovernable, did they not lose?? It's only on the pages of the internet youths make mouth. There will still be a Nigeria because the project is more and more convincing as the day goes by, with or without GEJ or who ever is there. No region dares try to make trouble if he was removed constitutionally. Thus, the statement, " crying more than the bereaved". |

alj_harem: You see you do not understand
The SW actually love GEJ and even the political positions you are gloating about is not as it seems you know
read this"How Nigeria is shared under Jonathan"
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/11/how-nigeria-is-shared-under-jonathan/
Of President Jonathan’s 42 ministers, there are only 12 women compared to 30 men. The North has 22 ministers to the South’s 20. The South-East produced only five ministers. North-West and South-South top the ladder with eight ministers each while South-West, North-East and North-Central each has seven ministers.
The South-West, which produced Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, is in-charge of five ministries, namely: Foreign Affairs, Trade & Investment, Police Affairs, Agriculture & Natural Resources and Communication Technology.
The South-East produced four core ministers – Labour, Aviation, Health and Power in addition to having the Deputy Senate President, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The North-West and South-South also led the park in appointments into top positions such as service chiefs and leading government agencies with nine slots each. The South-East has eight; North-Central, seven; South-West five; and North-East, two. Figuratively, out of 865 top positions, North-West has 218 (25%); North-Central cornered 154 (17.80%), North-East, 139 or 16.07 %; South-South, 158 (18.27%), South-West, 167 or 19.31%; and South-East, 123 slots (14.22 %).
A peep into 11 topmost slots
1. Dr Goodluck Jonathan, President,
Bayelsa, South-South
2. Arch. Namadi Sambo,
Vice President, Kaduna, North-West
3. Senator David Mark, Senate President, Benue, North-Central
4. Justice Dahiru Musdapher, Chief Justice of Nigeria, Jigawa, North-West
5. Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, House of Reps Speaker, Sokoto, North-West
6. Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Deputy Senate President, Enugu, South-East
7. Justice Dalhatu Adamu, President Court of Appeal, Niger, North-Central
8. Chief Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker House of Reps, Imo, South-East
9. Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, SGF, Ebonyi, South-East
10. Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, Senate Majority Leader, C/River, S/South
11. Hon Mulikat Adeola Akande, House Majority Leader, Oyo, South-West
Going by this sharing under Jonathan, you can tell they are not complaining unlike before thanks to Afenifere who does not speak the mind of an average SWerener
Also south-east is not any better off. I am sure you know the power of vice and sfg compared to even a majority leader. Think of it
Now Tinubu has rivalry with Gej because of PDP. It has nothing to do with ethnicity. He had the same with OBJ and Afenifere. It all has to do with the party.
I hope we have an understanding Nice read. Thanks Alhaji! NW still took the cake after all. |

@poster, that man knows what he is doing, the plan is to get noticed and get compensated at the federal level just like as happened to Onolomemen- minister for works. At least hope so. The edo state government has proven that with the right person in place a lot can happen with little resources and it gives me hope that delta my beloved state can be restored in no time with the right person.

Beaf: @Jason123 Dude, all that is just long talk. The FG is solely in charge of the railways. Aregbesola is telling his usual ridiculous porkies. I don't know how anybody can believe that anybody can buy trains to run on FG tracks.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation Act 1995 puts NRC business as 100% FG, there is no leeway for so-called MOU's that supply 40 coaches and 40 wagons or any other tall tale.
Aregbesola is a liar who is owing Osun states workers several months salaries and hitching a ride on FG projects, cos he has exactly zero attached to his name. Everybody is watching him incredulously now and when the time comes, it will be easy as ABC to eject him.
How can a governor lie that an FG project is his? Wonders will never cease!!
There is no scope within the law to accept Aregbesola's tall claims. As the excerpt below plainly states, nobody can do any business at all on NRC lines except the federal govt minister approves it. Nobody can walk into the NRC offices and claim to have signed MOU's with it when the minister of transports stamp from Abuja is absent:
http://www.ippanigeria.org/Nigeria_IPPA_Policy_Brief_07.pdf Thanks for the revelation. What if he asked for the minister's permission before embarking on such, that is, he worked hand-in-hand with the NCR to actualise it. Do he not deserve a bit of credit? Maybe the MOU was to subsidize the transportation fare? Anyway, Nigerian politics can be tiring. Too much propaganda and falsehood. |

Beaf: This is another foolish thread. How can anybody hail an FG project as Aregbesola's work? Its mind boggling! Aregbesola is owing several months salaries to Osun state workers, probably because he used the money to sponsor elections in Alimosho LGA, Lagos as well as various massive aluta trips (eg the one that saw 19 busloads of howlers arrested).
What will Aregbesola claim next, that he is fixing 3rd Mainland Bridge?
Disgusting. That is not the issue here Beaf, you were here when he acquired the trains: Osun Acquires Four Locomotives •pays Railway For Rehabilitation Of Sub-station
As part of its plan to assist farmers and boost the economy of Osun State by transporting agricultural produce to Lagos through rail line free-of-charge, the state government has acquired four locomotives of 40 coaches and 40 wagons.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Sunday Akere, who disclosed this while briefing journalists after the state 8th Executive Council meeting in Osogbo on Wednesday, said that the locomotives were currently being constructed in China and when the works are completed on them, they would be brought to the state.
Explaining the rationale behind the project, the commissioner said that the objective was to increase income and revenue, as well as using it to create employment for the youths in the state, adding that the state has also paid the Nigeria Railway Cooperation to repair Dagbolu railways sub-station.
According to him, the state Executive Council has also approved the construction of a mid-regional market at Dagbolu area, saying, “we are starting an Osun mid-regional market at Dagbolu and this has to come into place because of the intention of the governor to make Osun the nerve commercial centre of the South-West”. Also BEAF, it was an MOU so it is not a pure FG project. It was basically OSUN STATE that initiated it. If it was PURELY FG, why don't other states have it? Aregbesola spoke yesterday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, while signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC). He said no nation in the world depends solely on road transportation. Aregbesola said: “Sole reliance on road transportation has affected the nation’s economy adversely. It is high time the Federal Government improved our air and waterways for efficient transportation. Anywhere in the world, a combination of transportation systems makes a nation. “We have overused our roads and need the alternative of a viable rail system. It is, therefore, necessary for government to develop other means of transportation.” He said food products from the state would be exchanged for finished products from Lagos State at a market in Dagbolu, a small community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state, through rail. NRC’s Managing Director Adeseyi Sijuwade said the corporation, in collaboration with the Osun State Government, would boost the state’s economy through freight services. Sijuwade said the NRC has dedicated wagons to service the state. He said: “When the NRC completes ongoing rehabilitation of its facilities, we shall collaborate with other state governments, organisations and any person that requires our services. “This is a development that is in conformity with our home grown strategy to public private partnership, aimed at delivering quality rail transport services to Nigerians.”

Seun: If you like the car so much, why not buy it for yourself instead of asking the govt to do so? Seun, we are talking about buses here not cars. Cars will definitely need safety inspection agencies which I don't think Nigeria has but the safety of buses can be waived because most, if not all, don't go past the 60km/h mark. Again, the advantages of a local car company is massive. There will be no need to import spare parts. Constant maintenance to the default mode(condition when bought) is almost 100% guaranteed, among others. |

Chyz*: Here you go again trying to give a yoruba man props. Banjo suggested no such thing. He has not a HEAD. It was Ojukwu and Effiong, period. Leave banjo and your lies out of it. How am I giving a "Yoruba man" props. As far as I am concerned, I'll rather believe a fellow MWesterner and my parents than what you tell me The 12th battalion had originally operated in the Ogoja sector before being re-deployed to take part in the Midwest operation ( . It was supposed to have breakfast in Benin City, then proceed speedily toward Ibadan and Lagos on two axes springing from Ore and Okitipupa. The Ore group was to split into two groups, one pushing to Ibadan through Ondo and Ife, while the other was to drive through to Ijebu-Ode on to Lagos. Instead, the 12th battalion stalled in Benin City, while Banjo and Ojukwu argued back and forth for three days about whom to appoint Governor/ Administrator of the Midwest. Ojukwu had apparently initially preferred Lt. Col. Nwawo as the governor (9). But Banjo, eager to avoid creating a restive non-Ibo population, independently and separately approached Lt. Col. David Ejoor (through the Catholic mission), Major Sam Ogbemudia (through an agent) and Lt. Col. Trimnell (a molato officer with ancestral links to Aboh division), in that order (9, 13, 14). The first two declined. Ojukwu turned down the latter, ultimately choosing Major Albert Nwazu Okonkwo, a Midwest Ibo medical officer. After the first of several recalls to Enugu, Banjo returned to Benin City on August 11/12, 1967 to resume the fatally delayed westward thrust of the 12th battalion, which had now been re-designated a brigade. The announcement of Major Okonkwo's appointment was eventually made on Thursday, August 17 from Enugu.

http://www.dawodu.net/midwest.htm When did midwest Igbos ever showed any condescending attitude towards non-igbos in the midwest. Pls i would like to see that right up. When and in what ways? SMH, do you even know why MWesterns start resenting the local Igbo population?? In a pattern of behavior that can only be described as self-destructive, the "liberation" force went molesting, Desecrating, kidnapping, torturing, detaining and even killing local figures whose support they badly needed (14, 17). For example, Mr. J. O Adeola (Commissioner of Police), Mr. Olu Akpata (Permanent Secretary), Mr. Sam Umweni (of Radio Nigeria, Benin) and Mr. J Imoukhuede (Head of the civil service), were abducted from Benin and taken back to Biafra. They remained in prison (without trial) until the end of the war (17). In his memoirs, Ademoyega acknowledges: "The 18th battalion stationed in that port (Warri) was a ragged, ill-equipped and ill-controlled unit. Reports of their lawlessness in town had been scandalous." Such actions (among others) did not endear them to the people they came to liberate from "the north". Ademoyega summarized it thus: "Biafran entry into the Midwest was seen by the people, especially the non-Ibos of the State, as an act of foreign aggression." (9)
-------
Before we knew it, Biafran troops were in Benin City and en-route to Lagos. The Republic of Benin was created and it subsequently became the shortest Republic that ever was. Before we knew it, all our Igbo friends and neighbors started saying “Kedu” to us. When you turn around to look at him in surprise, he would say, “Ah, unah, you never begin learn? Na wa. I’m sorry oh.” The big question was: Learn what? Do you mean Igbo is becoming the lingua-franca in “Benin Republic?” Biafran troops were in control and from all practical purposes, the people were being intimidated, etc. Basically, Benin Republic was functionally a colony of Biafra.
http://www.republicreport.com/why-biafra-did-not-survive-written-by-alen-ighedosa/
Outright molestation, harassment and killing of non-Ibo civilians occurred on a daily basis. At night "suspected saboteurs" were fished out of their homes and arrested. The Hausa community in the Lagos street area of Benin and other parts of the state were targeted for particularly savage treatment, in part a reprisal for the pogroms of 1966, but also out of security concerns that they would naturally harbor sympathies for the regime in Lagos. But non-Hausas were just as badly treated. And as the hostility of the local population became more intense, so did the degree of indiscrete brutality for "internal security". Non-Ibo alumni of St. Patrick's College, Asaba and Government College, Ughelli, found to their chagrin that old school ties meant nothing in the new dispensation (17).
In addition to the scourge and humiliation of the occupation itself, fleeing Biafran soldiers carried out all kinds of unspeakable acts of brutality against the local population (17, 18). At the Urhonigbe Rubber Plantation, for example, hundreds of Midwesterners were summarily shot by regular and militia units which had already blazed a 'scorched-earth' trail of terror through Benin-West division (14). Can you tell me the particular areas or cities the Biafrans occupied in the mid-west? When Banjo ordered these heavy armored units up to the front to provide armor support, they proved too wide and heavy for the narrow bridge over the Ikpoba river in Benin City. ----- As it were, a group of Midwest Ibo officers had actually been slated to welcome Lt. Col. Banjo at Ikpoba Hill that morning (13). -----
The 12th Battalion, under Lt. Col. Festus Akagha, made a dash for Benin City, [the capital]. The 18th battalion under Major Humphrey Chukwuka, headed for Warri, [in the oilrich delta] with Sapele and Ughelli as secondary objectives. The 13th battalion under Lt. Col. Mike Ivenso, swung northwards toward Auchi, with Agenebode Among others but I do not have time for that now. Please read: http://www.dawodu.net/midwest.htm And again, Banjo was the saint and another yoruba warrior king just like abiola, fajuyi,Ige,etc. You people make me sick. Sanusi was right about you all in his write up,lol. Who called Banjo a saint?? I don't care about Banjo or Ojukwu or what not! Sorry this is a flat out lie. Most people in the East didnt even conspire with the Biafrans although they wanted out of nigeria too. And please give me evidence of the Mid-western civilian Igbo conspiring with the Biafrans. And you constantly talk about Igbos what of the Ijaw in the midwest? Do you know what they were doing during the war? On the other side of this opinion divide was the powerful, so-called "Enugu clique", eager to share in the destiny of the corporate Ibo nation (14). Such ambiguous sensitivities and antipathies within and between "western" and "eastern" Ibos have always existed
----
Unknown to Banjo, a unit led by Lt. Col. Ochei (a Midwest Ibo officer), specifically attacked the Government house in Benin, ostensibly ordered by Ojukwu to capture the governor, Lt. Col. Ejoor dead or alive by Nowamagbe A. Omoigui
---- . However, two days later, on the night of August 8, Biafran army uniforms were secretly issued to selected Midwestern Ibos while weapons were withdrawn 'for routine check' from non-Ibo soldiers in the 4th Area Command HQ. The Police wireless station at Asaba closed down (as usual) for the night. The stage was set (14). Ijaws?? Ijaws were FIGHTING BIAFRANS. In the Siluko area, 50 Biafran soldiers (about half of a company) were drowned by a group of "Ijaw, Urhobo and Itsekiri swimmers" who lost 16 men in the fight (14).
Ogbemudia, S. O.: Years of challenge. Heinemann Educational Books, 1991. It was not a civilian to civilian battle. You are officially not from Delta state. Stay out of anything MIdwestern or Delta State. We all know you are not Bendle but yoruba. It was not?? You know nothing! Even after the war, special steps had to be taken to re-absorb the Igbos in the Midwest. First, it antagonized non-Ibo ethnic groups in the Midwest who became extremely hostile to Midwest Ibos (as well as some non-Ibo NCNC supporters who may have been privy to the invasion). They were regarded [at that time] as fifth columnists. This hostility lasted for many years, possibly well beyond the end of the civil war, mitigated only by responsible leadership exercised by the Military Governor (14). Thus, previously lukewarm non-Ibo groups were galvanized against the entire concept of Biafra, fearing Ibo domination, and rushed to get recruited on the federal side, offering help and assistance (10, 12).
---- In the wake of the invasion, real social, economic and political problems intersected with psychological bitterness and a sense of betrayal in the Midwest (14). Families had been disrupted, many citizens bereaved and ethnic mistrust and suspicions excited
----
Although unpopular with certain officials, this turned out to be a helpful tactical measure to reduce tension among those who felt wronged while preventing jungle justice from getting out of hand. The tribunal met from December 4, 1967 until September 28, 1968, by which time public temperament had softened considerably. In a move that was designed to avoid recriminations, a decision was then made by the government not to publish the report of the tribunal (14).
Simultaneously, a committee of senior bureaucrats worked on measures to reintegrate Midwestern Ibos into State life, assist the economic recovery of those who had lost property, and attain reconciliation. http://www.dawodu.net/midwest.htmNow that I am done with you. What you typed exposed your bigotry. What does it matter if I am Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo?? After all, all my links were all written by mid-westerns. I didn't bring out any "Yoruba link". Chyz*: Muritala will always be a northerner. Muritala=FG. How was the Biafra occupation forceful? Maybe you can also tell me what non-midwestern soldier where doing in the midwest also? In the midwest, there were clashes between Igbos and the minorities who saw it as the perfect opportunity to have vengeance on "one of the major tribes". They had there local tribal militias enter Igbo areas and batter and humiliate the igbos along with the soldiers. When the Biafrans came there were no massacring of non-igbos but vegence was taken and I'm sure those who tried to fight those "rebels" with weapons were killed.
There is nothing wrong with defending your people against the Biafrans but the civilans were not Biafrans.
Can you imagine "your" government allowing another tribal people to enter your village to lord over you with their local militias and give them military weapons, not to talk of the locally made wapons they already had as if you are their slaves? Chyz, you are asking how Biafran occupation was forceful? Biafran army entered the mid-west even though the midwest did not want to be part of it. Igbo midwesterners were seen as traitors because they occupied most of the midwestern army (after it was decreed that all soldiers should return to their region) and they were meant to protect the midwest from external aggression such as the Biafran army. According to one account, the midwestern Igbos conspired with their eastern counter parts to occupy the MW with minimum resistance. And this was evident in the way MW igbos started their condescending attitude to non-Igbo midwesterners. In fact Banjo told Ojukwu to let the Administrator of the MW be a nonIgbo MW but Ojukwu had to his will by doing the opposite and installing an Igbo MWesterner. What non-MWesterner Igbo doing in the MW? The MW was still part of the Nigerian "united nations", hence, Nigeria still had a say on what happens in the region. And no, it was not seen as an opportunity, after all, the reprisal was not until months after the invasion. About the militia, we had to defend ourselves and since our "brothers" had conspired against OUR interest and the soldiers attacked first (Banjo warned them, remember). About the massacres, certainly not. It was all a climax of events. About the civilians, most conspired with the Eastern Igbos. Some even called out "saboteurs" so the Soldiers could identify and kill, imprison or torture them. However, there one thing I must point out, the killing of civilians cannot be justified. But then again, it was a civilian to civilian battle for the control of the MW. |

Chyz*: Just tell your yoruba revionist like Al haram that he cannot fool those whose people lived the war. I am from midwest. My area is right beside Urhoboland. I know the stories abt what went on with igbos and non-igbos in the midwest and Biafrans and nigerians in the East. Chyz, apart from some defensive attacks because we HAD to defend ourselves from the Biafran army and their FORCEFUL occupation, can you please tell us about what happened to midwestern Igbos (btw, asaba was carried out by muritala who worked for the FG, an edo man) and I am particularly interested in what happened midwestern non-igbos. Thanks. |

Dawgpound: In the 1960s over 80,000 Easterners and Mid-westerners (Igbos, Efiks, Ijo) were slaughtered across Northern and parts of Western Nigeria. Pregnant women had their womb cut open. Old men and women were forced into tanks and blown up. Many fled back to the East.
Biafran war ensued after that and 3 million more were either massacred or starved to death by the soldiers representing the Federal Government of Nigeria. The injustice continued with the Federal government's sponsored mass robbery of Easterners leaving them with only 20 pounds. In all essence the Federal Government wanted to further kill them off and yes many died of hunger or committed suicide.
During that war over 2000 Igbos were murdered in Asaba.
Hundreds more were slaughtered in other parts of the Mid-west. In the 90s the Ogoni in particular were massacred in their thousands by the army and many fled as refugees to the US and other countries. Ken-Saro Wiwa the leader of the peaceful movement against oil exploration and environmental destruction of Ogoni land and 3 others were killed.
During OBJ's regime 200 Ijaw civilians were massacred in Odi.
Why haven't we made a concrete effort as a people to hunt down these criminals and have them charged and prosecuted? Why haven't we even tried to take matters in our own hands and seek justice for our people?
I believe that its our responsibility as a people to say to those who have caused us so much harm and pain and to the world that enough is enough. If these criminals grow old, die and get away without facing justice for their crimes we risk creating a society where more people will be emboldened to commit similar crimes.
Its our moral responsibility to seek justice for our dead. WHAT THE FUC.K ? |

NRI PRIEST: My fellow Igbos, I want to use this medium to ask you guys to stop bringing yoruba people into our discusions. Do you think they care abt your unity ? Isnt this the same people who make mockery of how innocent Igbo women and children were masacrered in the war! The only thing they care about is your BEAUTIFUL women, thats only when they kiss your Bottom! Do not allude them dignity by using them to make examples. It gives them great joy that Igbos mentioned them. But you guys will not listen, until they start insulting us. I have never in my life seen yoruba people as important. I have lots of them as friends and they know we Igbos are more mannered and inteligent than most of them. Leave these lots alone and stop discusing them. Left for me alone, I will device means to overpower them economically and bring them to their knees. Igbos learn, learn and learn !!!! If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him. Proverbs 26:27He who digs a pit will fall into it, and a serpent will bite him who breaks through a wall. Ecclesiastes 10:8He makes a pit, digging it out, and falls into the hole that he has made. Psalm 7:15All I'll say is; the moment you start something you can't finish, there will be a high probability that you'll regret it. Good luck! |

macjive01: what is crazy about it? Answer the questions and leave talk. What questions? macjive01: i dont want to sound tribal , but many people are of the opinion that the persistent bad road in the south-east has a direct correlation with the linage of almost exclusive yoruba minister of works.
the question is: are yoruba's inherently corrupt ?
should the present crop of yorubas be totally banned and abolished from anywhere near the Ministry of works?
does tinibu have a hand in the this persistent suffer inflicted on the easterners ?
the money for the first nation airline, cud it be money allocated for building southeastern roads? if so then the Igbos cud make a legitimate claim of the airline, right? Like these? You have issues! |
