I learn new stuff all the time, a programmer is never to old to learn new tricks

though there's a tendency for people to stop at the intermediate level(Those are the guys most people perceive as very good programmers)

but there's still so much stuff one can learn, technology doesn't stop for anyone.

Check out guys like Joshua Bloch and Bracha, Dough Lea etc. They're masters and to borrow a phrase from karate people ,

10th dan pass 5th dan even if all na black belt cheesy

ProgrammingRe: [Opinion] B.sc Computer Science In Nigeria? poo! by javalove(m): 1:47pm On Jul 08, 2008
the nigerian educational system needs a serious review by experts not some fat bellied professors. computer science especially, what can a computer scientist in naija do? wat skill does he/she have? Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the graduates that i have met that do programming learnt on their own (i admire dem alot, cos its not easy to do that).
ProgrammingRe: Need Advice Pls ! by javalove(m): 1:40pm On Jul 08, 2008
meeennnn, i'm so happy i have met my likeminds.

don't be decieved my brother. u have to live ur own world, define the rules and abide by them. u set ur own laws for success and believe in them. I would not tell u to opt out or not but dont be carried away by the certificate ish thing naija is known for. all u need is skill as a programmer not pali.

i have once been in ur shoes and meenn i didnt think for long, wat i did? i didnt even bother attending cheesy smiley. Dem call family meeting for my head but all na opata. this was way back in 2001. instead i attended NIIT and did a 2and a half yrs course and i bet you my father is soooo proud of me today. Java don carry me go places wey graduate no fit enter.

If you have a dream, pursue it. if u need a pali to achieve the dream, remain in skool. if u dont, men get out dis minute,

check www.jajitech.net to find out more,

ProgrammingRe: How Long Did It Take U'all To Learn Programming? 10 Years? by javalove(m): 4:58pm On Jul 07, 2008
2 years is good enough for any disciplined and hard working person who is willing and ready to work alone for a long time as programming is a lonely language.
Gbam !

IslamRe: Any Nasfat Member In The House? by javalove(m): 1:40pm On Jul 07, 2008
well, i know about nasfat but i just have never attended their events. the organizers need to do lots of re-orientation for their members. we have pple who dont observe solats but believe nasfat is it, especially women. i live in lagos island and thats the case here, i dont know about ogun state.

it looks like to me the cele pple are being copied sef. the way lots of the women dress is not islamic. white transparent garments all dat bullshit. fine the organizers might not know of all these but they need to talk lots of sense into the heads of the members. they should also emphasize the importance of solat to them cos lots of dem shun solats and go for nasfats.

They also do programmes late into the night or even overnight. in Lagos island where i stay, even xtians attend the programs for the sake of "chicks" they can get for the night. u find boys and girls mingling together and all that,

@poster, no hating ooooo just my 2cents

we are deviating please !!!

@david or dawud (the name u would eventually be called Insha Allah) cheesy

My post was more than 2 paragraphs and all u canpick out of it is just a line. I just started posting in religion forums and before i did, i have gone through what lots aof your xtian brothers and sisters have been writing. We are the recieving end on this forum. ts u guys that have been doing most of the bashings, hence the title of my topic.

You guys find jy in bashing islam and u feel comfortable as xtians. It seems to me the comfort u get as xtians is not in your believes but by what is happening in other faiths. Doctrine? flawed!! , religious practice flawed!!!, placing xtianity on the scale of common sense, flawed!!!, and yet you have all succeeded in making the faith look so good o the people of the world. I don't know if i'm permitted to quote some x-rated bible verses that your pastors will not quote to u. Thats th reason again i used the first line "the most deceptive faith in d world is xtianty". I'm not sorry to say!

All in all, desist from bashing Islam. Here is a forum where people drop their opinions and seek to learn more about other faiths. The way u guys present your topics or questions sometimes does not show plainness. una dey soo biased.

We are all grown ups, even though i think i am the youngest in this forum. Despite our differences, which is open to the two parties, we can still argue constructively.

To whom it may concern
Again i repeat, if u don't make researches and decisions of your own, someone, somewhere will do it for u, whether its right on wrong. Intelligent people do theirs, fools follow public opinions.

Music/RadioRe: Blackfaze Has Become A Fraudster by javalove(m): 7:14pm On Jul 05, 2008
BlackFaze is an unprofessional idiot if he has no manager. The manager did the deal on his behalf (as expected). All Blackfaze correspondence will be forwarded to his manager.

@gbengaijot and @tosin

its easy to start a blind argument but for hevean's sake, give ds guy a benefit of doubt!!!! U dont know what transpired between dem in details so don't judge blindly.

If i want to invite any naija artiste to a show, i should go through their manager. Anyone who deals directly with clients is a cheap and unprofessional artiste!!!
Music/RadioRe: Jay Z In Nigeria by javalove(m): 7:03pm On Jul 05, 2008
abdurrazaq:
Jay-Z was also given a chieftancy tiltle - Seriki n waka which means The King of Music. Naming a road after him is not a big deal. He really appreciated all the love showed to him in Nigeria beacuse I heard him specifically talking about the chieftancy title on MTV Base.
I watched some of his projects in some African Schools including providing bore hole water, toilet and others for pupils and students of those schools. Therefore, all the love showed to him in Nigeria is very justified.
Great minds think alike cheesy

point noted
but even 9 himself says hes not after the buzz
if its about makin' real music den its mode that does it 4 me

if it was up 2 me, id rather he remained low ,
made soulful collabos and jus be himself as he is
everyone keeps agreeing with the fact that he is sooo real. wat else do u need as fans? You want to know how much he get for account or how many armanis suites he has? Why should he be low? Why should the person who does it as it should be done remain low? Why should we celebrate wackness at the expense of professionalism ? Don't be in a hurry guy. All that is needed is a re-orientation of listeners. A time will come when more Nigerians will be more concerned about lyrical contents. This gals in bikinis shaking boobs and arse dem don dey tire pple. Its just a matter of time and the time is not far from now.

ProgrammingRe: Guru In The House, Please Help Me by javalove(m): 4:18pm On Jul 04, 2008
chukxy:
My good people, I'm so much pleased with your suggestions.
The problem i have now is to package the application in a jar file.
Please direct me on how to package the application.

Thank you.
In making a jar file, first create a manifest file like this

- Open an empty notepad
-Type this

Manifest-Version: 1.0
Main-Class: <Your Class Name Here>

-When you are done, press enter once to go to the next line.
-Save the file as whatever.mft.

-The second step, open command prompt.
-Navigate to your project folder
-Make sure the path is set to point to the jdk/bin folder
-Then do this:

jar cfm yourmanifestfile.mft yourjarfilename.jar *.class <and all other stuffs u want to add separated by space>

-Press enter when done.
-Check your project folder, an angel must have placed a jar file there for you cheesy

you can also add other stuffs but u must separate them with a space. For example if you have an images folder and in ur code, ur images were gotten like:

ImageIcon ic= new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("images/javaadict.jpg"wink);

then u have to add your images folder to the argument when making the jar. Just say images.*

Did i make sense?
