olabowale: His father though did a poor fathering job, and his mother even worse since she is more responsible for nurturing, at least reported his uncertain, but complete change of personality! What would you have done differently when it's obvious this guy is an adult, doesn't live at home and even more worrying stopped communication. How do you correct or train someone that's miles away? olabowale: If my son is exhibiting a strange persona, it is my responsibility to call him out, sit him down and get into it with him, preventing him from evil and bringing shame on my family. There is something called tough love; people should not be afraid to practice it! I do believe the father did the best he could have done for the child. Compare the numbers of rich men in Nigeria that will prefer to shower money on fornication rather than quality education for their wards? He gave him the best of both worlds (western education and probably Islamic upbringing which is evidence from Jarus's post) It takes God's divine intervention for one to be able to separate the truth from farce in relation to religion. |

~Sauron~: Don't they have a record showing everyone they have issued Visas? That is enough data for them to check and weed off the ones on the watchlist or whatever rubbish they call it.
America messed up on this one. . . . .Janet Napolitano(Homeland Security secretary) has already conceded their security system failed on this one. Yet they keep spending taxpayers' money in Afghanistan/Iraq when the real war is at the airports.
Shame!!!! I agree Sauron but the visa was proceured in '08 and the intel by his father was months ago so another round of weeding ain't gonna hurt. |

Politics › Re: Breaking News: Mutallab Family Issues Statement by jaybee3(m): 7:49pm On Dec 28, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: I completely disagree with you there. So what you are saying is that I believe what is fed me until I get the rest of the story before I even start thinking I might not having gotten the whole? Gosh dude!!! That is definitely not how it works with people who use their heads, don’t you think?
We have not gotten ALL the info is reason for me to wonder what more is to come!!! That is usually the way it works in most human minds. And you may not like what I have revealed there of what I think is to come, but don’t tell me I have no right to think. Lol all i'm simply saying is it's a whole better to reason based on facts not conjectures. Kobojunkie: Uummm . . . . Usually people wonder what the parents may be hiding!!! It is common sense to do that.
Please desist from turning this into yet another US vs THEM thread on Nairaland. I hate those. this def ain't a US vs Them thread but it's a valid example/question that you haven't answered. why didn't u suspect the other families with the same scenario? I'm just trying to get my head round your idea of the dad maybe not letting out on all he knows |
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Mutallab Family Issues Statement by jaybee3(m): 7:43pm On Dec 28, 2009 |
All the US needs to do is make everyone travelling to US register online a day before travelling like the people from current visa waiver countries do. By doing this the names can then be checked against whatever lists the government posses before hand and in turn screen out questionable characters for special screening. |
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Mutallab Family Issues Statement by jaybee3(m): 7:38pm On Dec 28, 2009 |
I do accept ur scepticism (maybe on the front of anything outta naija) but as we haven't been fed with any info in contrary to the stuffs currently published then i think it's definitely wrong to even think otherwise as per Dr muttalab's actions.
Do you also have reservations on the american families that also gave intel about their wards trip to pakistan to the US government? (i'm sure u r aware of the 5 americans recently caught/detained in pakistan on terrorism charges) |

Kobojunkie: I have a theory myself, what if the father was OK being a donor to the group but when his son decided to volunteer as a suicide bomber for the group, the father, in an attempt to save his life, decided to warn the authorities. It is just a thought but I just don’t believe this all started only 2 months ago and I suspect the father possibly knows more than we know of the situation right now. would u have suspected differently if the dad wasn't a muslim? It's just plain wrong to even think of such. If the dad was involved with terrorism then their is no way on earth he would have alerted the US. |
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Mutallab Family Issues Statement by jaybee3(m): 7:15pm On Dec 28, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: Was he not on a watch list but just not on a NO FLY LIST? don't think his name was activated on the watch list hence Obama calling for a review of the watch list. They couldn't have just put him on a No fly list without a concrete evidence of ties to terrorist groups. |
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Mutallab Family Issues Statement by jaybee3(m): 7:11pm On Dec 28, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: If that logic was applied often than not, do you realize what would result; Every disgruntled father/wife/co-worker etc. making complaints without solid evidence, able to cause even innocent people to be put on the NO FLY LIST? Do you remember what happened post 9/11 when people called in reporting Muslim neighbors and friends and we ended up with thousands of innocent folk put on the terror list? Do you remember that? Now imagine that happening on a global scale. only proven people with ties to terrorist groups gets put on no fly list. the best US could have done was to put him on a watch list which should have raised a flag and in-turn prompt the security staffs to do a more thorough second screening/search. |

The dad cannot remove himself from blame. Whose multimillion pound house was the man staying in in London? Who gave a 23 year old so much money? They have confirmed it. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/12/26/airline.attack/index.htmlWhy would he report him if him being a muslim isn't against act of terrorism? point that alot of people are trying to make is their will always be bad eggs among the good ones and nothing justifies acts of terrorism. |

Yes we lost guys but it was somewhat worrying that we didn't have any shot on target. Well i couldn't see mark making any save and i had a pretty fab view of the whole match.
Fergie should start berba more and let owen get the "Game changer" tag
What's up with valencia? just too predictable and one dimensional
I am sure the result would have been different if we had gone with 4-4-2 with evra doing his usual wing back stuff and obertan hugging the left wing |
