enygmababe: Lol, you guys seem to forget that the 250k is basic. With a basic of 250k, when the allowance are added, it is possible it runs into.... (400k? If not more)
It does not stop anonymous from moving back later with more of an experience. My only worry is abandoning the Ph. D. Can you do something about the Ph. D, I don't like leaving things half done. Can you commute to complete it?
Haven been to America and come back with a clean record, nothing stop you from going back. I have always believed in coming back to ones own country.
But then op, it is really your decision. 400K is barely $1.7K per month That's peanut for someone with relevant engineering degrees in the oil and gas industry An offer he can't refuse should be in the region of 1M+ per month |

PassingShot: If your leaving the States now does not mean a permanent shut at the possibility of your residency their, I'll say you should take up the offer in Nigeria. The job will fill the experience void in your career and it's also an opportunity to advance it in your field. Who says the comapny cannot later send you abroad at some point?
However, if leaving US now means you cannot later get your residency, you have to weigh how much you value it with the job offer. He already has both paid and voluntary experience. Research in engineering is also work experience since it's mostly practical |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: An Urgent Decision On A Job Offer by jaybee3(m): 8:29am On Jul 30, 2015 |
The remuneration package should be the only deciding factor in accepting or rejecting the offer. The offer as described isn't enough to suspend your research program so i would almost certainly reject the offer.
You are already employable and attractive to potential recruiters so exercise a lil patience to get your research over and done with before hitting the job market. |

Truckpusher: Do we have a fair representation in the upper and lower house of the federation?
Are regions/ states being given the chance to become autonomous ? Why do we have immunity for a thieving political office holder? What's wrong with us having a state controlled police to enable community policing ? Because with a state police every man will police his own people that he knew too well and criminals can always be fished out easily. A house with a faulty foundation has a date with destiny though we can deceive ourselves right now but it must surely stare us in the face. Oga Truck, we both know there are too much vested interest to allow Nigeria breakup so the only viable solution to correct the anomalies is by demanding the legislooters perform what they were elected to do. We still have the power to recall them if they underperform Btw: I specifically used fair representation cos i'm aware of continuous attempt to skew the representation with regards to sharing of resources. Revolution will never work in Nigeria as majority of Nigerians are programmed to always accept every injustice and misfortune as act of God |

Truckpusher: There can never be any form of unity under a structure of oppression and injustice. But there is a fair representation within the legislative arm of government so why can't/won't they fight the injustice and oppression on behalf of their people they are meant to serve? The problem isn't necessarily about Nigeria itself but more of her people and their selfish interests |

TV01: Two slightly different things. Earnings in marriage against pay in the workforce. Earnings in marriage is not what predicates the feminsit push for equality in marriage. It's an absolute, they do not beleive a man should lead.
A "gender" pay gap due to structural faults/bias is discriminatory. Equal work for equal pay. But any structural impediments have been removed a long-time ago, and any pay gap is now due to womens choices, not discrimination.
TV Surely that must have been one of the drivers with the current rise of feminism. Equal pay for equal work = Fairness of economic rights |

naijababe: Which outlier? If Yetunde bustline was a big girl pocketwise, Tunde woulda gone nowhere. Na dashed expectations make the man run jare
His response to her was all about how she is on benefits and whatever else Nahhhhh What if all tunde wanted from the onset was to get his stay even if she was as rich as dangote? He would have still gone ahead to divorce her and get paid for the years they stayed together. He probably never really loved her and used her to get whatever he was after and it doesn't help that his new chic is way more younger than the old one |
Family › Re: Boys Night Out Discussions by jaybee3(m): 2:29pm On Jul 29, 2015 |
TV01: As for feminsits, their push for equality is not based on earnings. Otherwise you are saying that feminists only demand equality in marriage where the wife earns as much or more. Independent earnings by a wife help it though. But that's usually the underlying reason for their fight. Didn't the fight actually start from the demand for "equal pay for similar work" ish? |

UjSizzle: Dude you funny
OP I don't see what's heartbreaking about this situation. You've always known she had an away-boify. Then there was you. Now she's going back to wherever boify1 is located and you're heartbroken? I'm lost-- perhaps I don't understand the meaning of heartbreak anymore. If she says she won't be going back to the other guy then tell her to break up with him officially. Not the regular drifting apart thing; she has to say the words to him. Then you keep in touch with her. Call, text, visit her once in a while and ask how she's doing. If you feel you can trust her then you should, unless she gives you a reason not to.
Best wishes. Which one be away boify? Please explain |
