Toks2008:
You have just nailed it.

In my 4 decades of existence i have seen so much in life and asking ladies to accept the unfaithfulness of men as the norm is crazy and idiotic but this is the truth.

Its like we men not wanting to accept the complexity of women and does it mean we will not treat our women very well even when we now they can throw your love at your face. Will any man contest the fact that 95% of women can never be understood or will any reasonable man start boasting that his woman can never leave him or strangely enough will any matured and reasonable man contest the fact that a woman who has a child for you can stil kill you?

There are some facts of life about ladies that we men must live with or stay single and this simple fact that pertains to men is that most men will cheat on you even if you are the best woman on earth or the most sexy, this is complex to understand and that is why the earlier any lady understands and prepare for this fact the better it wil be for her. I can't stress this enough.
Have you even paused for a few seconds to understand why some women stay in loveless marriages?

Majority are clouded and guided by the holy books which didn't take 21st century challenges into consideration when it was written
Some do so because they simply have no choice as they've had to rely on their spouses for all basic amenities
Some do so because of stigma and the fear of the unknown
We don't have strict family laws in Nigeria hence the reason why men are able to lord over their wives and get away with murder time and time again

It's very wrong to advice women to accept bad marital vices just because it's common practice even though it's always going to be at their own detriment.

You need to educate them that their success and happiness should never be tied to any man. They need to be strong willed, empowered and understand marriage isn't necessarily the ultimate success

They were all bombed and purposefully reversed to Stone age.

Their policy? Bomb everything standing and when it seems that couldn't win the war, they decided to commit genocide by bombing everything that moves and applying international embargo on food stuffs while still air raiding and combing the remotest settlements in the region on daily basis.

Eastern Nigeria shall rise again. The days when the FG policy of underdeveloping the region was working has started crumbling.

Sooner than later, busy international maritime activities will abound in the region with many busy functional international Airports.

The days of unmitigated emigration will soon be over.

I honestly do not catch your drift expecially the last paragraph.
You've politely asked the ladies to accept their cheating husbands as it's a societal norm and instead focus on their kids.
I'm now asking you to consider these same women in their 40s or 50s when the children would have left home.
Don't you think they will be depressed as a direct result of their loneliness and years of romantic neglect from their husbands?

What was in this write up is speculation not facts...

I am not vowing there can't be some behind the scene deals but in all privatization of these assets remains the only viable option... alongside restructuring them by breaking them down into smaller competitive units whose operations are transparent...
Why are you so quick to conclude the article was based on speculation whereas yours was based on facts

We are all using deductive reasoning in arriving at our positions

Do you know how they refine crude as in the technical specifications for the process plants?

So let's talk about basic chemistry, crude is refined through a seperation technique called fractional distillation.

So you flow the crude into a tank which is then heated after which the seperated products can be extracted at different temperatures

In engineering terms, you need a network of pipes to transport the raw, by and products.
You will need guages and valves
You need gas to heat the tank bla bla bla

What I'm getting at is trying to understand which of these stages of seperation process would have completely shut the refinieries down

The only probable reason that comes to mind is clogging and rusting of pipes which could have been rectified without needing a complete shutdown

With regards to point 4 of your original post, what's the reason for the complete shutdown of our refineries if they admitted production would be ongoing alongside the planned maintenance

I might accept if their reason for complete shutdown was due to the profitability and viability of running a refining petrochemical state owned company considering the price of crude and tight profit margin.

It's about fundamentals and applying them to specific conditions to arrive at desired outcomes

[size=13pt]Do you know what TAM or TAR means?

Turnarounds (or TAR's) are scheduled events wherein an entire process unit of an industrial plant (refinery, petrochemical plant, power plant, pulp and paper mill, etc.) is taken offstream for an extended period for revamp and/or renewal. Turnaround is a blanket term that encompasses more specific terms such as I&Ts (Inspection & Testing), debottlenecking projects, revamps and catalyst regeneration projects. Turnaround can also be used as a synonym of shutdowns and outages.

Turnarounds are expensive - both in terms of lost production while the process unit is offline and in terms of direct costs for the labour, tools, heavy equipment and materials used to execute the project. They are the most significant portion of a plant's yearly maintenance budget and can affect the company's bottom line if mismanaged.[1] Turnarounds have unique project management characteristics[2] which make them volatile and challenging.

Dude, forget text book definitions and think practicality.

You opened the link but still ignorant to the fact that you probably got played for a fool by the past administration

Geez.... What ever happened to using your brain

How come the refineries never worked for a single day during the past administrations even though they clearly stated that the TAM wouldn't totally shut down production?

How come they increased crude SWAPS and deliberately starved the refineries crude to refine

How come you fail to connect these unanswerable questions as deliberate sabotage by the past govt

Forget politics and be honest with yourself....

This isn't about GEJ but lives of you and those that matter to you!

Kindly go through this link and let's talk based on facts now... http://thenationonlineng.net/nnpc-to-repair-refineries-with-550m/

Cc jaybee3 ...I need you too to open the link...thanks
They kept on making contradictory statements with ferocious false promises

Basically, the link you provided suggested the following:

Contract was initiated during GEJ era (we know this as money was budgeted and appropriated accordingly for it)

The contract was to increase the output (This suggests the refineries weren't faulty but wasn't working at their optimum performance level due to lack of routine maintenance)

They promised to continue refining crude whilst the routine maintenance was ongoing (We actually know they increased crude SWAPs whilst making the refinieries totally redundant by starving them of crude and may have done so to accelerate the stealing of crude and lining of their pockets)

They promised to finish the maintenance by the first quarter of next year (I know there isn't anything unsual about project finishing on time and within budget but we have to consider this is Nigeria where nothing works. The only plausible conclusion is that, the refineries were probably good enough to work at above average capacity but the so called benefactors of subsidy fraud mounted pressure on Diezani to frustrate all GEJ's efforts to revive it)

Mr. Jaybee, tell me something else! grin grin
Are you aware of bill and melinda gates foundation?

Bringing them water which is supposed to be one of the basic things every human being should not have to suffer to get wouldn't have been far reaching as it won't create the same awareness as this stunt.

You can safely assume they would have provided a solution alongside the awareness campaign

I cannot take credit for the revival of our refiineries - President Buhari
The same way he can't take credits for EFCC rising from oblivion?

It's not unrealistic to conclude that his body language and utterances about fighting corruption head on may have forced the hands of those people handling the refineries to fall in line.

It's also very plausible to conclude the TAM was another avenue to siphone the nation's wealth under the guise of phoney contracts. After all, anything goes in Nigeria

It's not always about what was said but you should always connect informations together in order to have a true/clear picture of things
