To be honest my objection is with the "Nothing like too busy" qualifier statement.

Some people do have genuine reasons to hide under the being busy statement and the onus is on the partner to be accommodating of that fact instead of making all sort of wrong assumptions and over analyzing the statement when he/she could also make the extra effort since the success of the relation is going to benefit them as a couple

Relationship is a two way thing and no one single person should continue making the effort. They need to both create time and work around their busy schedules...end off...

Well, the tradition of sorts in my house is a party themed to the current media snare my kid is enmeshed in.

So when my son turned five some years back, it was star wars the clone wars.
His sister turned five last year, it was disneys frozen.

The whole nine yards and then some. And they remember it.their fav music, games , etal,balloon castle, helium balloons.

They had mad fun.

At the age of one, a cake will do.
