Explorers: Driving is scary if you cant. But the moment you conquer your fear and start learning, you realise there's nothing in driving. If you really want to learn, you have to face the fear and start from a shallow pool. Am not scared of water but as much as I try, I can't seem to maintain buoyancy. |

buharisbae: my dear Lagos is better many people think Lagos is an expensive place to live buh I can tell u Lagos is one of the cheapest place to live in Nigeria
Lagos has many opportunities also Lagos is cheap, cheaper than PH Abuja et al but it is the most expensive in the SW. Only transportation sef na die. In Ibadan you still fit get Taxi 30-50 naira. You can still take okada to some destination for 30 naira. Food and accommodation too are cheaper over there. |

Health › Re: GENOTYPE: A Determinate Factor In Marriage by jaymichael(m): 7:32pm On May 01, 2016 |
Saylawchar: What a very brilliant topic......
My take on this is very simple, let every would be couple ascertain the genotype of their partner before tying the knot. From my personal experience, i never knew that my wife's genotype is AB and her blood group is O (negative) while mine is AA and O+ so when she gave birth, the doctor called me to pay for an injection called anti rhogam injection which will enable her breastfeed my son and this injection must be administered on her within the first 72hrs after delivery and same must follow after every other delivery. This would have caused serious crisis if not that i was able to manage it. So it is important for every would be couple to carry out medical check up on each other and be sure that they are compatible before taking the bold step. Yes, that too is very important. It is called RHESUS INCOMPATIBILITY DISEASE. it occurs when the father's rhesus factor is different from that of the mother, (say the father's blood group is O+ and the mother's is O-) during pregnancy there is a high chance that the baby will inherit the O+ blood group of the father. When this happens, The Mother's negative rhesus will prompt her immune system to produce antibodies to attack the blood of the baby bearing positive rhesus. This causes serious problems for the child and in a severe case, it can lead to the death of the foetus in the womb. This is because there is a possibility of the mother's blood passing to the child in the womb but with a greater degree of certainty during childbirth. The severity of the attack on the baby increases with each childbirth. The injection rhogam prevents the mother's body from producing antibodies to attack the baby in the womb when there is rhesus incompatibility. In addition to all tests like genotype, hiv/aids etc it is important to know your blood group and rhesus factor before marriage in other to plan for future eventuality. I never knew all about this until it happened to a close friend of mine. They lost the baby. Luckily, O- (negative rhesus) is rare in our part of the world than in the western world. |

We can accept the crude oil price and inability of the previous government to save for the rainy day was to blame for the economic downturn but waste of lives and properties by these beasts has no excuse whatsoever. The whole south and some part of the north has risen against this and for the first time in a long while igbos and yorubas are uniting against the north. neocortex: You were fooled, there is a hidden tape playing in the background. Hidden tape? in a village? Ijebu Ipara Remo almost 30 years ago? Na which day walkman enter Nigeria? It wasn't even about me, As is usually her custom, whenever my mother travelled to her hometown, she usually visit all her relatives both close and extended whenever she is about leaving for Lagos. Some are medicine men and women. My mother on this particular day went to visit her uncle, normally they usually do some divination. In my presence, the old man did all his thing and began to inqure some things from the carved piece. It talked, I was younger but I wasn't afraid, I see it as normal thing. The only Thing I could remember from all what the statue say was "aso fifun" (white cloth) I not only see and hear the statue speak, it held conversation with my mom and uncle. When they fail to grasp an instruction, it repeat itself and correct them. Though my mother doesn't follow the instructions or serve those things, she just follow proceedings out of respect for elders. My mother and her Own mother (my merternal grandma) just like taking me among her sons to the village. I even experienced something else involving my Grandma, another family "IYA AGBA" (elderly woman) and the twin daughters of my Grandma's first daughter. Guy, power dey where power dey. Nobe everything eyes see e go talk. Tell me why would my mother's uncle want to deceive her? |

maninmood: Billyonaire, good write-up there. You sound very well an educated person; it is quite intriguing why other so-called enlightened graduates still indulge in this fallacy. Quite a number of people are so narrow-minded that they fail to accept the fact that physical realm does not go correspondingly with the contrary. To the naive, be continuously spoon-fed lies and keep living in completeness of idiocy. Dont let anyone deceive you. Am not a dullard and am not uneducated. As a small boy back in my mother's hometown, I have seen her uncle consult a carved wood ere or sigidi (so called in Yoruba language), about a meter tall, being consulted and spoke back before my very eyes. It was asked questions and it responded like a human being with lips moving and all in a thin voice almost like a whisper. My dear, believe or not, there are powers and there are spiritual forces that can be discerned and even manipulated by the spiritually minded persons. I thank God we have the I AM THAT I AM, the immortality that dwells in the light. |

gists: We have started again o. Is this trash not enough? SW does not really give a damn about religion. It is that ineffectual buffon that tried to reap from the religious divide in this country that brought religious politics to our consciousness. If you don't believe me, can you name 5 SW muslim ministers since 1999. In fact I can't really think of any beside Obanikoro and that is just recent under GEJ. Ondo and Ekiti states have not had a muslim governor till date! Aregbe and Amosu of Osun and Ogun state are the first muslim governors of those states since 1999.
Are the SW people complaining? No - because what is important to us is good governance. Let's not resurrect this nonsense of religious politics that nearly turned urgly. Whoever is capable should be nominated irrespective of his/her religious affiliation.
And BTW, I am a muslim Funny, I don't even know that Amosun and Obanikoro are molems. |

Having a hike from Tomaro to Tarkwa bay today. Am at the vilage(Tarkwa bay) right now. Will hit the beautiful beach later. It is an hour hike from my part of the Island to Tarkwa bay through bush part, NPA lighthouse, different villages, etc. The journey is one "GULDER ULTIMATE SEARCH" i recommended this hike to all if you ever get to visit here. I must tell you that it is not an easy journey and you have to be up for it, but the allure of the adventure, and the refreshing reward of the sea, it is very much worth it. I won't be posting pictures because I have done a thread on Tarkwa bay on this forum previously. |

odikimi: This was my argument but some people who allowed themselves to be controlled by emotions pour insults on my person. This is why I can't respect Falana, I could remember Falana asking Fashola to remove chairman of panel set up to investigate Soldiers-BRT fiasco because the retired judge is a star witness to LASG in another matter. See http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/07/brt-probe-falana-requests-fashola-remove-justice-adebajo-chairman/. But same Falana is quiet today because Saraki is corrupt. I want all corrupt politicians to be killed by Firing Squad but it has to follow due process.
I want Saraki to be killed, I don't have sympathy for him, but let us ensure fair hearing. What Umar is doing is against the principle of fair hearing. He has shown interest in the matter by descending into the matter. Let all ministers in the temple of justice demand for his resignation, this is a slap on the profession. It is a trite law that you take a motion once it is before you, no matter how childish the motion could be. see Julius Berger v. Isono a Supreme Court decision in the biter. Seems accused now have the luxury of choosing their own Judges in Naija now. Does the "petty" goat thief have that luxury? #Justice4sale. |
