Eladua: So, finally it is my turn to testify, the Lord has done it. Like someone mentioned some days back, it will get to a time that one would just get tired of checking mails every morning expecting that grant and just concentrate on other things, I have been like that for some weeks now, only for me to check my mail on a Saturday morning and the grant catwalked in.
It all started last year November when I assessed my qualifications with ACS and they broke my heart with negative outcome based on the fact that my degree isn't equivalent to Aussie Bsc and I needed 4years experience to qualify. I gave up at that moment until when someone here opened my eyes to the possibility of going with TRA so I did and got a positive outcome, even though they were silent on the level of education I went ahead to claim the maximum point for a Bsc, this was my fear with DIBP, alas it came out well.
It's a 489 visa, and my advice for some especially the single ones, if 190 is taking time to get coz of your English test or something, just go with the 489 instead of continuous waiting, before you know it another policy will come up. My occupation was for 190 initially, the day i was to apply for state nomination was when they moved it to 489, so i decided to just go on with it.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me one way or the other and I pray for those still in process, it will land sooner than you think.
Pls anyone that has info on if IOM help with travel tickets for 489 applicants and the process should pls advice. Congratulations Bro, 489 should definitely get migration assistance from IOM. See a screenshot from sometime ago for their contact

Thanks mate. It's based on the no response to my proposition to be considered for "civil engineering draft person" rather than "engineering technologist" since Oct 17 I want to be sure they got my reply and are working on it, cos each time I submitted updated CDR it has taken them 1-2 days to respond.
But this is over 10days now
PS: like how many minutes do u think I'll spend on call? |

Hello people, please which of our network providers are best for calling Australia? I wanna put a call through to my assessor. Do EA quickly pick up their call and connect applicants to respective assessment officers? Anyone who has contacted EA via phone call before, what information do I need to have handy for seamless conversation?
Thanks in anticipation |

frank043: But this (8months+4yrs4months) translates to 5yrs2months. The system ought to place him wit 5-8yrs. Just wondering... sorry Bro but it translates to 5yrs exactly. 12months = 1year Let him just give it a while and try again. Seems like all the migration system need another round of updates. Skillselect ITA results never show up. . . |

This my assessor, whose favourite cliché has always been "At the same time, being developed as an engineering associate, you have a great exposure to technical coordination as well as a grounding in the area of civil technology and technical support. Based on these carrier episodes’ summary you may be assessed with the qualification outcome as a Civil Engineering Technologist (ANZCO 233914)"has now gone numb since I asked to be assessed as an engineering associate proper which equals draftperson. My patience deh run thin ooh. . It been 10 working days now, the guy usually replied me within 24-48hours before. Any advice people? |

alstarmayo: yes it's a hourly guarantee, but it's not possible to do 0.75 trips in an hour, so when the guy at Uber office wanted to explain 0.75 trips per hour, he used the total at the end of the week. Total number of trips that week and total number of hours that week Actually it's daily, when u go to the promo section at the end of the day, you would see if you've qualified for the hourly top up or not as you would have the minimum trip and confirmation requirements either checked or cancelled. From experience 2weeks ago. I qualified on some days and didn't on some days. The guy at uber's prolly juste wanted to rush through with the explanation. |

Daslimo: Thanks a lot...lastly, I've come to the point of decision between both. Which should I opt for? PTE vs IELTS?
If ielts, General vs academic? I just need the 20 points through the easiest route.
Thanks again u need to look into both testing systems critically and select the one that best fits your style. However, we hear engineers Australia will start accepting PTE for assessment too (November I think) , so if it's PTE u decide is easier for u then no need to also throw money around d with IELTS. |

diggy4real: How do I cope with this kind of thing? I mean I need to be on 65points now so I can get ITA within this financial year for 2335.I would not want to make any changes that Will be seen as misrepresentation of any sort. Did u try to indicate/tick relevant employment area as Bellong advised to see if their wold be any change in situation? Cos I haven't passed through that stage but only calculated your employment period and noticed you were just somewhat on the 5years borderline. |

diggy4real: Someone should help out on this. 1st company: 8 months 2nd company: 4yrs 4months I'm guessing the system being able to calculate just exactly 5yrs for u is still seeing u at the range 3-5yrs. Perhaps after 5years 1 month it will convert u to 5-8years range |
