Hello house, Quick update: So I left naija 15th Nov., the winches at airport didn't have power over me but for overweight. Had to return some books and garri. Arrived Oz Brisbane 17th Nov. 6a.m., passing through Aussie immigration was smooth. Got to baggage pick up, Lo n behold my bags were no where to be found. Lodged my complaints at the Emirates counter, they couldn't still track the current location of the bags. Filled a form and they promised they will locate and update me within 24hrs. Yellow custom cards I prefilled for declaration were marked with missing bags symbol (dropped the key to the padlocks with Emirates staff), so I passed customs with my hand luggage only. Sunday evening while asleep, my bags arrived. I think only the Herb (agbo) was taken out by customs. But to my surprise, a total luggage that I had to arrange and rearrange to come to a combined 46-48kg in lagos was weighed as a combined 43kg at Oz airport. My thought: The scale at lagos airport has been altered to favour the carrier/Sahcol (thieves) or something as been removed from my bags (which I can't think of at the moment). I will go with the former. My landing brouhaha aside. Weather has been fine, haven't been able to open bank accounts and ATO for now cause I'm yet to land in my state of Sponsorship " Tasmania". Heading to Tasmania next week, been applying to jobs from here, reject mails coming like breeze; no local experience as reason. All in all, this country is sane and beautiful. Mwah 21 Likes |

Bossladyorigina:You really want to know? 300-400k Most of the online agents combine trips from multiple airlines which results in exact same thing. So I must be sure to avoid paying for someone else's mistake. How do they synergies the transfer of luggage between 2 diff airline operators? If you don't have any meaningful contributions then look elsewhere and don't be a killjoy. One ticket even highlighted it that passenger must collect and check in again at certain stops. So why won't I wonder? |

flyca:it's not a straight ticket. Combining 2 separate tickets but connecting the final flight at China or Singapore. For instance, ticket 1: Lagos to Singapore on Turkish airline bought separately and ticket 2: Singapore to Australia on Qantas. Even though you have not booked the straight ticket from lagos - Australia from Turkish airline, will they be responsible for transferring the luggage to your next flight "Qantas"? The wait at airport is like 6-7hours |

Good day all, please has anyone travelled down to Australia with different flight tickets and/or airline operators that connect in either China or Singapore? Please what was your stop over experience like? Any hassles from immigration, especially when you have to do a self transfer of checked baggage to the connecting flight. I understand you don't need a visa if you're not leaving the airport, but what of when you need to pick up your checked in luggage from the flight that got you down there from naija and then check it in to the next or last leg of your flights? Some tickets actually are indicating self-transfer, any better idea of what is meant by these online booking agents? Thanks all |

My UAE people, please what is the procedure for using UAE as a connecting hub for flight to other countries? For instance, I need to fly from Nigeria to Hong Kong or Indonesia, then I intend on booking 2 different flights, one direct flight from lagos-dubai then second from dubai to Indonesia. Note: I will only be in dubai for hours before the time of the next flight. I realise I will have to collect my luggage an check in again at dubai terminal, but I need to know the consequences or conveniences to be sacrificed. Thanks everyone |

stifo2012: I know it's fluctuates and that is why I asked. Just want to compare and be sure the spread is not so far off. 1-3naira per dollar is fare. If at black market it's 362, and gtb naira mastercard charges 364 I'm still OK. Than the buying of dollar and opening dom account brouhaha |

Gentlelife50: Succumbed? If she was directing you to drive your car into an ocean, would you succumb as well? If you were sure it was a card trip, my brother u had no cause to receive extra/double payment. That a man didn't pay you complete or wanted to abscond with the fare in the morning doesn't translate into another distinct rider paying double. If taxify hear your case, hope you know what's up? The man was even on uber and you could have let him walk away and accrue the debt to his rider akkant. Doesn't feel right though. |
