Money disappeared from a fixed deposit account? You should be grabbing the bank by the collar by now. Lawyer up, Man. You can also send a report to FIJ NIGERIA. Search for them on Facebook. They'll publish the matter on SM and the bank will do something within days.

As advised, U searched them on FB and was directed to their WhatsApp number. I have contacted them and now waiting for their response.

By the way, do you work with them, maybe you could help fast track the conversation please?🙏

Thank you for providing more details about the incident, i was actually thinking it was a case of online scammers⚠️

Since there was no ATM actively linked to the account, it could be of two ways:

A. Someone who is a beneficiary to that account which could be your wife boldly went to the bank, withdrew the money and covered it up.

B. Either the account officer or another bank staff decisively or collectively stole the money.

Now if you sue that bank and they later find out that it was the case of option A, the bank could demand for damages and you will be in hot soup!!

But if it's the case of option B, you can actually recover your money and more if you win them in court.

So you need to be sure of what you are doing to avoid regrets sir.

If you trust your wife💯 and you're sure she's not involved.... Then you can consult a good SAN to begin a legal proceedings against that bank.

Taking them to court is the only way to recover your money 💭

Can you please recommend any SAN you know personally that we can use as I currently don't have any.

Please help me Bro.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's lost sir🙏🏽

It really saddens my heart when i see or hear people loose huge amount of money to theives and online scammers!!!!

Well, concerning your case... It really depends on where the money was transferred to, if it was transferred to a Nigerian bank account which i seriously doubt, then it can be traceable and subsequently recovered⚠️

But most of these scammers are smarter than that, they normally have foreign accounts they transfer to, and they use it to buy crypto or shop goods online... Which will definitely make it untraceable as you know we are not that yet technologically advanced as a country to handle any transactions outside Nigeria.

It can only take the FBI or a very advanced country's security agency to trace such transactions if it was used to purchase goods online, but cryptocurrencies and wallets are untraceable⚠️

I think your wife's bank should have told you where and how the money was moved, if it was moved to a Nigerian account then you still have a chance but if it's not then the money is gone✖️✖️

Once an ATM is linked to any account number, it's possible to withdraw money from it at any given time especially when the scammers have your passwords and alert sim... So it's very possible sir.

There are accounts you shouldn't have an ATM on or better still be very cautious with if you have an ATM on them.

Okay, thanks a lot for your detailed response.

1. She was not using an ATM card for the fixed deposit account. It was strictly for savings, as a matter of fact no money she could not even so any transactions on the account unless she is physically present at the bank.

2. Her account officer was the person who told her that the money was no longer in her account.

3. From your response, I guess we might still have a chance. I honestly don't mind taking it. The problem now is where do we start from and how?

You loose your money because you're actually DUMB, not because something is wrong with the Nigerian banking system⚠️

If you're not technically inclined, please avoid using ATM cards and nothing will happen to money if you loose your phone!!!!

But, if you're smart and technically exposed like me.... First thing you do is to lock your alert sim with a unique password, then proceed to lock with your atm cards, bank apps and ussd with passwords. To be on a safe side, you can use one long unique password for all of them, linking them to just one mobile network which you have already passworded too.

And please do not share this details with anyone, whether with a friend, family or scammers impersonating bank staffs.

That way when you loose your phone, nobody can even access your mobile line talkless of your bank account😆😆

I have lost my phone severely times and nothing happened to my bank account 💯

In 2019, my wife lost some good millions of naira after her phone got stolen including her fixed deposit, everything was wiped out.

I have been seeking for possible solution to retrieve the money, all to no avail.

Please any idea of how the money can be recovered, especially the one in the fixed deposit because I just can't stop wondering how a fixed deposit could have been cleared due to a lost phone.

Ps. I am talking about a very huge amount of money. We are ready to share percentage with anyone or organisation that is/are willing to help us recover the money please!

Thanks in anticipation

I still wish Afrobeat had this level of global recognition during the reign of 2baba, Psquare, Asa, TY bello, Paul play, Dbanj, Faze, Chuddy K, Sunny Neji, Styl plus, 9ice, MI, Ice Prince, Timaya, and Wande Coal...these guys were sensational. A song could trend for 3 years then unlike the 2 weeks of trending that is peculiar to this new era.
Songs on albums used to be played From track 1 to 20 without skips...even intro (track 1) used to be a thing (can't forget interludes too e.g 2face's story story).

I just listened to one luv by 2baba this evening and I was just wondering...hmm...talents dey ooo...chai

Sometimes, growing up in such environment push you to become a better version than your popsi.

There are mistakes my dad did that I can never do, I learnt from their mistakes
Forget!!!!
Our parents don't know shit!!!!

Our generation is 10 times more informed and aware of a lot of things

Our parents literally entered adulthood without any orientation other than church.

So you have parents who were so awful at raising kids but will use African culture and religion to cover it up

It's now we have internet we are more exposed and we now have awareness

The next generation will be more free
More liberals
More risk takers than the previous generation
More inovations More breaking records
That is the POWER of information

Cut your parents some slack
The truth is they are ashamed to tell you that they themselves are still learning about life. Some of them have not figured it out yet

Referring to the bolded
They will and can never accept their mistakes! That would have been a good way to start dealing with some issues in the home.

Iamjobless:
Pls pardon all errors.

I will try and keep this short, I have an aunty who works with one of the FG parastatals but she is contemplating on resigning. Reasons being:
1) the transport fare takes more than 50% of her monthly earnings as the distance between her house and workplace is far (ikorodu to CMS)
2) due to the distance she does not have the time to take care of her children as she has to leave very early and return late at night.

Ever since she told me, I tried to convince her to just hold on as i strongly believe that the minimum payment will be reviewed soon which will address the issue of salary but she stated that my solution does not address the other challenge of negligence of children.

Please i need advice on what she can do to get to work faster amd return home faster

Also, the husband is a business man that owns a business in the CMS area, I will be in the comments.

Nlders with toxic parents, how long did you take you to realize the only solution is to cut contact?

For me , I had a desire to cut contact since my teens but I could never understand why and stayed in denial. I moved out in my early 20s and kept contact to minimum. It was only when I turned 30 that I had the courage to examine the past and accept that my parents used me as a punching bag for their personal failures in life.

Now I'm working on fixing it because I understand that they will not be around forever and I don't want to end our relationship on a bad note.

My advice is that you talk with them about it and explain how it harmed you. They might understand

How do you deal with a mother who has confessed that she used your destiny and is the reason why you have been struggling all your life and living from hand to mouth. Despite all your hard work and perseverance, nothing to show for it!
She even go as far as transferring such ill-treatment to your wife and children, her own grand children, please how do you deal with such?

This question has been on my mind since late last year when I got the news and it has been a huge burden to me!
