https://dattnxmw6t66d.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/styles/panopoly_image_full/public/news_articles/stella_8.jpg The embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, yesterday failed to get the support of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the ruling party distanced itself from the N255m armoured cars purchase scandal. The party stated emphatically that it is greatly worried by the scandal. A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP Chief Olisa Metuh, said the position of the party on corruption is unambiguous while its practical examples in zero tolerance for corrupt practices abound. Hence, the party declared that it had never and would never condone any form of corruption. The PDP said that it would not cover up for Oduah over the bulletproof cars’ scandal, warning that the culprits shall not go unpunished. His words: “We wish to assure Nigerians that whoever is found culpable shall reap in full, the bitter consequences of corruption and disservice to our dear nation. “The position of our great party on corruption is unambiguous and our zero tolerance for corrupt practices abound in practical examples because our founding fathers placed utmost premium on transparent and accountable government as a fulcrum for achieving a Nigeria of our dream. Our successive leaders since 1999 have resolutely stuck to this. “It is common knowledge that at one time or the other, some members of the top leadership of our party or their relatives faced charges of corruption and never was the law restrained from taking its full course. “To us as a party, the accusation of corruption in the Aviation Ministry is a big worry. It is for this reason that the President and the leader of our party has set up a panel to investigate the matter while the National Assembly which we also lead has stepped in. We commend the President and the National Assembly for doing what is appropriate in the circumstance. “It is a fundamental rule of due process and fairness that these investigations be allowed a full course so that those at the centre of the saga would be availed an opportunity to offer their own side and avoid a case of conviction before trial.” The party, however, urged aviation officials to remain focused until a case is established against them. “If otherwise established, the aviation officials should not be intimidated but remain focused in the outstanding transformation that Nigerians have witnessed in the sector.” The PDP further frowned at the ethnic dimension which comments and street actions on the issue have taken, cautioning tribal lords and lynch mobs on the two divides that such biased sentiments could hardly achieve an objective basis for establishing the culpability of the public officers involved in the matter. “These public trials in which the accused stands no chance of defence are antithetical to democracy as it is capable of railroading appropriate investigation into an unjust conclusion. We, therefore, wish the various ethnic lords, jingoists as well as lynch mobs who have found occupation in sensational, subjective and antinational comments and protests to take their exit and allow the appropriate institutions of authority to dispassionately handle the matter,” Metuh cautioned. http://www.osundefender.org/?p=129442 http://leadership.ng/news/301013/bulletproof-cars-you-re-your-own-pdp-tells-stella-oduah |
xyuche: this is the problem with Nigeria, must we disclose our plans with the public before we take action. May God help us@bolded NO. Its because most of our so-called leaders crave for recognition and unnecessary attention - a cover-up for their inadequacies. ![]() |

McLuhan: Dear friend, we have nothing to lose by seeking the assistance of countries whose security apparatuses are more advanced than ours. For so long we have been grappling with the menace of Boko Haram. Anything that can help rid us of this scourge is, in my opinion, fair game. As a matter of fact, I believe that religious fundamentalism and its attendant evils constitute the greatest challenge to global peace in the 21st century. To combat this threat, governments all over the world will need to overcome their differences and cooperate with each other in intelligence gathering, in judicial processes and the prevention of impunity, and in social work aimed at de-indoctrinating and de-radicalising former jihadists and fundamentalists. I only hope world leaders will appreciate the urgency of the situation.Well said. ![]() |
size38: FBI and CIA should collaborate with Nigeria in fighting official corruption and not Boko Haram. because it was massive official corruption in nigeria that gave birth to Boko Haram, Mend, Massob, Egbesu, Opc etcI agree with the bolded 100%. |
Nokio1: why FBI and CIA when you can get OMBATSE naw naw?OMBATSE? Care to explain what you mean sir? |
You are talking about America as a whole, not the FBI. The FBI like I have already said are a glorified police force, they pursue criminals and solve crimes, that things talked about here have nothing to do with the FBI. If you kill people in Maine, it is Maine Police Departments job but once you cross into Massachusetts and commit your crime in more than one state, one police force cannot cross into another states jurisdiction so they give your case to the FBI, simple as that, national police. Things like spying, counter intelligence and terrorism is the job of the CIA, NSA, Homeland Security etc.
Ur point is quite noted but that was FBI of then. After 9/11 things changed-FBI changed and here is wat I culled from their website : You know that FBI agents, intel analysts, and bomb techs work 24/7 within our nation’s borders to prevent terrorist attacks. But what you may not know is this: we do the same overseas, working right alongside American military forces in war zones around the globe. It’s all part of our post 9/11 mission to use the full sweep of our investigative and intelligence capabilities to prevent terrorist attacks, wherever U.S. citizens or interests are threatened. In a Veterans Day speech in the Virginia suburbs on Saturday, Dr. Louis Blazy—one of our top information technology execs and a veteran himself—described this new world where we work shoulder-to-shoulder with military personnel on the front lines to fight terror. http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2006/november/vets111106 Note the bolded. |
morgan22: There is a mistake somewhere here!!!!!!!! Our problem is not FBI or CIA, Our problem is inability to handle information we have at hand, inability to manage the little intelligent information/report we even gathered is our issue. Come to think of it, Boko boyz will get the so called intellingent reports before the security Officers. So even if Obama himself gather the intelligent reports and hand it over to the IG and co, Boko boyz will be the next to get the info/report before security Officers. So boko boyz will always utilize the report, prepare and take cover before our dear security officers PLAN to use the report. so tell me how the reports can be effective? so tell me how the boko boyz with the same intelligent reports and better machines gunz can be cracked down? we better tell ourselves the truth so we can find a lasting solution to our problems.Well I guess plenty go to school but its up to each n everyone what he does with the knowledge he got from school. Its left to those @d helms of affairs to decide how they utilize the intelligence reports they get. But we will be watching. |
dinggle: Nigerians need to be careful, do not allow Americans into Nigeria!...look at Iraq and Afgan, Gej is affraid, give us a stronger president and Boko Haram will terminate its-self. If we must need any outside assistance pls look the Chinese or Russian way.LOL @bolded......but com to think of it I think the government us already looking 'the Chinese way'. |
eben28: I think the move by the IGP is a good one but towards a wrong direction.Nice ![]() |
Willywilly7: Oshiomole should be careful with Yorubas around him, he should stop following them, they going to lead him into ditchInteresting ..... Very interesting |
Polio: Ok case closed then .... They have documents as the recent post above suggestedThe recent post suggested this and I quote: “It is pertinent to re-state here that NCAA indeed has no documents for the purchase of bullet proof cars for the Honourable Minister of Aviation as demanded for by the Lagos Lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, SAN.The initial reply by NCAA lawyer and I quote: “I am directed to your letter dated 21st October 2013 on the above matter (Request for information on N255m armoured cars for Aviation Minister, Ms Stella Oduah) and to inform you that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority is not in possession of any document relating to the purchase of armoured cars for the Aviation Minister, Ms Stella Oduah. Now these are already in circulation https://saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/css/NCAA_BMW_Page_02.jpg https://www.osundefender.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/NCAA_BMW_Page_03.jpg https://www.osundefender.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/NCAA_BMW_Page_10.jpg Now I think somebody somewhere is playing a game or trying to confuse/deceive someone or what say you? |
franchizy: At an emergency general meeting of the Global Youth Forum held at its Zonal office in Uyo Akwa Ibom state on monday 28th October 2013,1) NO Source ![]() 2) Pending until 1) is rectified. ![]() |
Ola Johnson: Femi Falana is not a judge but a lawyer, so he can't bring them behind bar.Thank you very much. The leaders and even the majority of the judiciary are so corrupt that they protect evildoers and other corrupt public officials/officers in a bid to either protect themselves too or to enrich their pockets the more. Exactly one of the reasons why we cannot continue to keep mute. This is a point in time when silence us no longer golden. |
Hmmm..........this is just so pathetic. The kinds of evils men commit because of women. The man looks old enough to have some common sense but as they say 'common sense isn't common' BTW did he ever see the analysis that some people ever made that : 1) Time=Money (he shud hav spent time on his vulcanizer biz, saved some cash n start selling used tires n later new tires) 2) Woman = Time & Money (when a man leaves his work to be with a woman, its @ d expense of his time and money to be made) Hence Woman = Money(=Time) * Money 3) Woman = Money2 Love of Money = Root of Evil 4) Money = (Evil)1/2 From 3) Woman = Money2 Woman = ( (Evil)1/2)2 Woman = Evil (Good ladies of NL I mean it in a nice way )Once a man starts looking beyond one Woman, he is asking for evil to befall him. And he shudnt even have bin looking when he wasn't capable. Men flee ye from temptation PLS. God bless all Nairalanders. God bless all Nigerians. ![]() |
emmysenior: I think it's only a matter of time before their military bases becomes present in parts of Nigeria.@bolded 1 I may accept that the CIA/FBI may truly have interests in Nigeria but I don't think the Conspiracy Theories that they are BH sponsors are true. @bolded 2 I agree but you kno how the average Nigerian mentality is. When it seems to people that they are not doing anything then they quickly look for smtn to publicize to impress those same people and to shut them up. |
I have no idea what you mean by that.
Spying, cell-tracking, activity-monitoring etc. using more advanced technology than we are currently using. They have more experience in these things since they've tasted terrorism first hand severally. |
obailala: So in ur own sense of judgement because EFCC could not do anything to Bank-Ole, then every corrupt official of the day should not be prosecuted until all past officials are brought to book??Seriously, I think we need a very good machinery in place to take care of the bolded. I think that will help to erase all this tribalism talk. |
crisycent: The document dey online now...why dem dey ask NCAA?Even the picture of a dead man could be found online but that doesn't mean that the man is actually alive. ![]() |
Bossforeva: Amen bro! Still thinking of the transporter 2 go with though!Hmmm.........Kpele! Have you bin unbanned now? If not you shud PM the MOD for an explanation or you visit the complaints thread to lodge a complaint. Abt the transporter 2 go thru, why not try Koboland ![]() |
