2/10... It's looks childish and unprofessional. I don't think web dev is your calling. You need to look for another suitable path away from tech. Your design is poorly done UX and UI are shitty. It's like something designed by a total lunatic(no offence)...

My honest opinion
And na yu be the real total lunatic

I didn't even use up to one month learning JavaScript. Immediately after learning the basics, i moved to ReactJs.

Since i won't be building stuff with vanilla JavaScript, i felt it would be pointless learning it for so long.
Hahahah...please go back to your vanilla js and learn it solidly well...Trust me, your react journey may not be a smooth one without solid knowledge of js..no be curse ooh.!!

i can't tell but i notice that in one year some can become good with a language (javascript, php,c# name it) as long as you use it regularly a year is enough to become dangerous with it
This is not even far from the truth..I think people who find it unachievable to learn lack patience and consistency which are the core requirements to learn coding.

ProgrammingRe: I Give Up... (help) by jbreezy: 4:34pm On May 27, 2022
Think4Myself:
I've been learning web development since 2020 during the pandemic where I grasped the concept of HTML and CSS but I've been on and off the journey up until last year February when I was waiting for admission I continue learning from someone I paid to teach me, I learnt HTML and CSS basics but didn't learn JavaScript. Five more months later in July I started JavaScript and was really understanding it fairly till school resumed.

Now during this ASUU strike I tried to test my fronted skills by building anything with what I learnt then I found out my CSS skills were bad, I quit web development for python...
2 weeks into python I found out python was really easy cos of my JS background but I got stuck when I tried to learn data structure I was seeing shit like hash map tf??, I left python immediately and went back to front end.
Now this brings me to today, I'm good with JavaScript and html but my CSS is ass, I tried re learning CSS but I can't understand that dumb language, now I'm really in a bad place, I have a serious dilemma, I'm thinking of ditching CSS for bootstrap or ditching frontend for Node.js cos I think my JS (ES5) know is ok
Someone with experience should advise me
I guess frontend ain't your thing then. Try to use your knowledge in javascript to learn backend development, node js & express.
ProgrammingHow Long Did It Take You To Become Sufficiently Proficient In Javascript?? by jbreezy(op):
Javascript has been categorized as one of the easiest programming languages to learn. But even with that assertion, a new learner without foundational knowledge of any programming language might find Javascript quite magical and difficult at the first stage of learning. I could remember I once cried while learning because the difficulty made me believe there was no way I'll become a programmer, thank God I didn't quit though.
So, it took me around 5 months, and an average of 7 hours daily practice and development of rookie to intermediate projects, to become really comfortable with Javascript.
What about you?
ProgrammingRe: What Is The Major Difference Between SQL And Mysql? Can They Be Used Interchange by jbreezy: 10:47am On May 27, 2022
faruqa97:
Oga, update the title, SQL SERVER not SQL, there are huge differences, SQL is a domain language specifications (which tells you how to read, edit and manipulate data, among others).

The spec is used in implementing a RDMS server such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL SERVER, etc. SQL is not actually the server.
I was confused too ooh

ProgrammingRe: What Are The Fundamental Programming Languages Needed For Frontend Development? by jbreezy: 2:07pm On May 21, 2022
platymus:
I love your question! As a fullstack engineer you see the whole picture but for front-end developers it is different. As a front-end developer you need to know the three fundamental technology of the web{html,CSS and JavaScript},one tool for ui development {adobexd,InDesign, figma},some graphics tools(Photoshop, illustrator),you will use these tools for mockup and prototyping but in some organisations the UI/UX team is different from those that build the actual front-end but my advice is to learn it as a front-end developer. Also some important frameworks and libraries: one of reactjs or vuejs. Also get to know JavaScript web APIs like webrtc, fileapi, fetch, intersection observer, etc.
Get use to babeljs and webpack but if you feel webpack is too much then start with gulpjs. Also get to know about performance and optimization. Another thing I will advice you add to your skill set is building PWAs (Progressive Web Apps). You must love to learn!I which you great success!

Hey guys!!
As always, thanks for the input to my previous thread!! I've not gotten the internship yet though, but I've applied on some of the recommended sites!! Still hoping for the best and dev my skill in the process
This thread is for detailed and projected centred links for beginners in JavaScript. I'd go first and our ogas in the group can help out. Make Una no air me abeg cry
-scimba: that guy is making js really interesting for me, I spend hours on my laptop without even knowing, he builds projects while teaching which makes it really interacting and solution based, I'd recommend him for anyone.
Alright guys, let's keep them coming.
The best way to learn js (or any programming language) is to build projects with what you've learnt...One of the mistakes I made back then was digging through resources (from textbooks to videos), learning syntaxes and terminologies without building, thinking I've known it all...Just for me to realize I indeed Knew nothing...Then to help my situation, I started building small projects with what I've learnt..I started with a Florin Pop's video on youtube (build 10 js projects in 10 hours)...I coded along...built all 10 projects, even though the whole process was quite tedious...But did it help?? It really did!!! Because right now, I can build most js projects (from junior to intermediate) in few minutes...and I mean very few minutes!!! so learn basics, build many projects and be sure to know how each code you write functions...peace!!

Techstar:
Hi, please i need advise on the next thing to learn. I'm new to tech and i have fallen in love with frontend development. I have been doing very fine with css, html and javascript, and designing cool webpages. I tried learning react but, it doesn't seem to be sticking fine with me. Ruby on rails on the other hand seems to be flowing well. Should i face ruby on rails and forget about react? My goal is to be a Frontend dev. not full stack. Ruby on rails touches a bit of backend which is cool to me. Is it easy to get ruby on rails remote jobs while based in Nigeria? Or should i put in more effort in learning react?
Learn react...that library is magical!!! Not finding it simple?? That means you jumped many javascript basics...I will advise you to be very vast with javascript before you move to react.
