My dear brother, being granted a Visa is not magic, just a combo of common sense, chronology, background work and appearance. First of, you are a Nigerian residing in Ghana (Red Light). Why? How often do you visit Nigeria although based in Ghana? How many events (career and family) do you attend in 6 months in Nigeria? Your bank accounts are they in Ghana or Nigeria? Are you married, if so, that could explain your residence in Ghana. If not, it is on you to prove, not forgetting the pre-determined belief, that you re running away, your not living in Nigeria. "I have interest..." Anyone can have an interest in bodybuilding for different reasons. Such interest does not warrant or justify a "live experience" - what is internet streaming for? You can catch it live online, a far more cheaper and convenient way (reasoning of the VO). To tie your interest to your "I'm a body builder, fitness ...." claim, prepare to show (via flyers, documents etc) events in Ghana/Nigeria you organised or were part organiser in that line of work. Tell the VO, you re going to scout the preparations and organisation of the event, so that you can come apply it to the one your team is organising later in the year, months after your return (if you can design a flyer for a date and venue for latter 2019). Your sponsoring friend, is he American, if he is, have him buy you and send a copy of the tickets to show immigration. Write emails to the organisers, document their response. Scout for other body building events worldwide, make contact, document it, if possible let them invite you - the point of this is to stir the VO away from the thought "he wants to run away" if you have invited say to Mr Universe elsewhere, a month after, or you're expecting a baby 2 months later, or something that proves without a doubt you will be leaving. For your friend, it could work for or against you. Knowing a person in a strange country is one major factor in choosing to go to that strange country. If you can, downplay your friend, mentioning very little about him, I say this because, if he is willing to sponsor you, who knows the extent - perhaps sponsor to get a work permit, marry akata etc Also, the submission timing of your application form DS160 is critical. While the form is required to set an appointment date, submitting it same day is not. Fill the form, select your appointment date, save the form reference number and form. A day before your interview, remember to go back online and submit the form. This gives them less time to do a comprehensive check on you and your background. Leaving it solely on the judgement of the VO and your responses to his questions. If you submit it same day, they will dig more than enough stuff to deny you on. APPEARANCE: This cannot be stressed well enough. Your line of work is fitness, appear like one. A Jacket on top of a T shirt accentuating your physique, on jeans and neat trainers will do the trick. Now an Interview can go like this : VO : why are you going to the USA You : I am into fitness and body building. I am going to the ..... as an observer for my organisation called ..... (present a file containing your docs: past and future event flyers, a company card or letter of introduction, your ticket for the current one you re going to attend) We are organising something similar in Ghana later in 2019. VO : who is sponsoring your travel You: Our company (name it...) majorly, personal expenditure would be on me Vo : how many days do you intend to stay You : (Be specific) 5 days. I plan to Arrive on the 14th, 2 days to the event on the 16th. to enable me rest and know how to get there on the day of the event. And depart on the 18th. VO : are you married You: if yes, say "yes, (with an emotional laden smile)expecting my 1st, a month after the event" (memorise a date) that's why she cannot go with me and I am unable to go more than 5 days. If no, say "Engaged" (tap your neck chain, to suggest it was a gift from your fiancee) we re planning our wedding for November after the rainy season, so many of our family members can attend. Vo: you ever traveled out of Nigeria before You : YES, VO : where You: I have been to a lot of countries in Africa, my favourite being Ghana, where I currently live. VO : what was your mission in Ghana/the countries in Africa You: speak your travel chronology and add "Scouting for talent/participants majorly for our events" VO : how long have you stayed in another country You : Speak your truth, confidently, warmly, making eye contact, no fidgetting etc VO: (handing you a white slip) Come and get your Visa at the address on the document. You:... Thank you It is all about common sense, your homework, your chronology etc GOOD LUCK! (Let me know how it goes) |
In other words, bring your ideas, the brilliant ones, we will take and claim as part of Sanwo-Olu campaign promise - steal your ideas as theirs, pay you nothing for it, no recognition nothing. Thank you Governor Sanwo... anyone interested pls patent your ideas, put it out there so much, even if they claim it, the world will know from who it was |
The scripture says in Gen 1, in the beginning the earth was....and darkness covered the face of the deep. Darkness, literally meaning powers were discovered and used by men to better their lot against others. God said let there be light...meaning He charted a path, the ideology that in that darkness lies a creativity that can be used for good...the darkness however, was NEVER ABOLISHED evidenced in the verses: "...whatsoever he called it, that was its name..." and "...the fear of you shall be upon every beast". The light or should I say Western modified Anglo Saxon Christianity did not do away with the Darkness, powers etc it only took away our natural instinct and inclination towards these powers, replaced it with doubt, a monolithic view of the supernatural and we ended up having the form of the gods but without the power thereof. We as humans have an element of deity in us, we lose them because we dont nurture and develop them, hence those with powers dont show it, perhaps only when to show sb a lesson. While the story is arguable, where did Bode get bit by a rabied dog or was he injected by his enemies? Also, when I was serving in one of the Western States, with a name synonymous with medication and beneath stones, I witnessed the undoing of a corps member we served together years back; He was serving with Nepa and being a stranger in the land was "set up" to go ask for a poor Baba's bill. Turning deaf ears to the neighbors' warnings to not disconnect the poor Baba's house and feeling like"Nothing dey happen" and did so, he peed so much, thought nothing of it beyond a simple hydration issue, ran a high temperatured fever for days, while still peeing and became emaciated like an hiv positive person...while all these were going on, ignorant boy did not feel anything was wrong, woke up and still showed up to work attributing it all to stress. Long story short it was the intervention of an alagbo Jedi woman, red bananas and of course appeasing of Baba, if not the poor fella would have just been a snack for the gods... Nna mehn! Wickedness dey |
It appears the op is either new in Nigeria, drives in a convoy of mopols, has a driver or simply put, does not live in Naija. The first, last and most important thing to do in traffic is, BE ALERT!; before you enter traffic, BE ALERT!!; while in it, BE QUADRUPLE ALERT!! ( front, back, left and right):you snooze, you lose - that assumed gala seller, the meandering okada rider with 2 other passengers; the shunting faragon to the left, the fuji blaring fedeco not forgetting the "my car" Oga you re tailgating... follow any other thing ( other than BEING ALERT) to do in Lagos traffic and see how Lagos traffic will gladly plan your life for you |
Nigerian people in top positions again giving us overview and leaving the details to the victims to find out. Screening, will it be free? How shall it be carried out? Who will be in charge? School or external bodies. Its no good if it makes the already cumbersome process of admissions more hellish. |
baby124:While I cannot understand where the need for name calling became necessary, I will ignore responding in kind. Your point is, PASTOR HAS NO SAY! Accepted. May I ask, did a Pastor stand in the way of someone you really wanted to marry? If so, my apologies. I equally, sense you re reacting from experience and I pray that you will (according to your desire) have access to Parents/Elders of "sound mind", who will not live in "Jupiter", families who will unselfishly and non manipulatively "involve themselves in your domestic issues" and Pastors who will have NO SAY in your 'life and decisions'. The church is not meant for whole people. |
Ladies and Gentlemen, this issue is a simple matter. As someone who grew up without both parents in the home (my father passed before I was a teenager) I believe Mummy G.O. meant (a.) If you re privileged to have Godly parents who are still together when you re about to choose your life partner pastoral consent is already extra catered for - talk and ask your biological parents to pray along...that is a double blessing & the ideal sense. Alternatively and fast becoming reality, we all know that 2 parent, exclusively monogamous homes, are fast becoming rare. Either a person was born out of wedlock, mother was a second wife, there is a "step-" situation in the child's life, parents are not role models or godly etc sadly such young people are the majority in church today. Such do not know what real love is, neither can they replicate what has not been modelled for them...what Mummy meant (b.)if you re one of the those who are not from such rare homes, then the extra onus is on you, to seek pastoral consent and guidance alongside those you biologically refer to as parents. Somebody please tell Leke Adeboye rather than "come for you and yours" (in response to Daddy Freeze) his responsibility as a Pastor is to breakdown Papa and Mama's wisdom into this current generation's level not unsheath swords. We are the salt of the earth. |
The most agreeable as seen in the incumbent is, for the purpose of inclusion, (Atiku coming from the Northern bloc, would have to choose) someone from the southern bloc; someone who claims christianity; is a technocrat, not a partisan politician, one popular for performance or advocate of ideals, one who can articulate, personify what the Government preaches (not necessarily what it is practicing), someone eloquent enough, someone who can debate an Osinbajo (cause PMB cannot defend his first term), one progressively critical enough to take the past 4 years of PMB & tear its hypocrisy to shreds...that being said, I can only think of: East - Ezekwesili, Okonjo-Iweala, Elumelu, Utomi, Obi South South - Donald Duke, Ben Bruce Southwest - Agbaje |
The answer is simple: they cannot support each other for long 'cause of too much estrogen and, 2 holes can never take care of the itch down there as well as the D does' |
If una like, make una no learn from Ambode misadventure: you cannot successfully go against the NETWORK (some of you call it Godfatherism) that set you up in the first place. Fashola too, during his 2nd term bid, was ALMOST humiliated until one midnight visit to the "FAMILY" to prove his loyalty changed it all...without Loyalty, a man is not worth much... If Ambode is wise, he should retrace his steps, congratulate his successor and wait for Central APC to reward him with Minister or Special Adviser, otherwise, I see another Agbaje, Obanikoro in the making, who after their political irrelevance (through their own undoing) decamp and then become worse of

hartson:My dear brother, but Why? When a man keeps important details from his wife, his children suffer... |
There is a time for everything, so also there is a time to tell a woman (and eveeyone) something, a time to tell a few, a time for more and a time for EVERYTHING... it is about trust...a woman who has no future with you has no business beyond the sweet nothings ( cause that is what they are) that prelude coitus... however, a woman who has been through hell and high water, lied for you, took a fall for you, aborted for you, had kids for you, lived with you from youth till grey hairs... now you re old and cannot tell her EVERYTHING? Well, when you pass on, and those greedy brothers waiting for you to die, come, they will take EVERYTHING YOU DID NOT TELL HER! |
Bro! If them no fit pay, abeg find your way to obodo oyinbo...the market for African warlords plenty....them go start you with such roles...from there, who knows, with time we go see Uncle Gentle Jack for Wakanda 2, Beasts of No Nation 2...I believe you sir |
AllTheWayUp:He will... This is part of the revolution he preaches about... if the Government / political parties fail and the church stands up...in time... Nigeria and lives will CHANGE. (Not the 419 change / lies Sai Baba, Buhari etc peddle) |
She go finish the phd now all these suffer she go transfer to innocent students wey no cause am make she settle for naija do phd. |
There are many paths to being a celebrity (simple definition: getting people who dont know you from Adam to talk about you) Kim Kardashian showed all these 'chechere' (in Fela's voice) gals how to: Sleep with a misguided celebrity (singer, actor or even groupie) leak the video, sell the story or in Sola's case get pregnant and 1.) get the celebrity to acknowledge you publicly 2.) If she doesnt, milk the Eff out of him via slander, bad mouth 3.) Get those Feminists who's mothers/families never practiced Feminism, and most likely from dysfunctional homes to support them. A lot of these baby mamas are applying oyinbo system to something that can be Africanly resolved. At the end oyinbo approach to the matter go only sell you out as an olosho. You get the negative publicity such that when the one wey go love you show, the fear or 'wisdom' from his family about your past no go gree am love you unconditionally. Sola Ogudu, if the boy is Wizkid's TAKE HIM TO THE BALOGUN FAMILY HOUSE. That is where he belongs. Setup an arrangement, I will drop him these days and pick him up these days. If wizkid's mum is a true she will call the recalcitrant wizkid to order. No one is born with the skills of great dad or mum, we all get better through falls and rising afters. If you're unable to do things THE PROPER WAY, then the questions: who is Sola Ogudu? Did she not have a life before Wizkid? If she had no agenda, why in this era of STDs, and knowing how 'public' wizkid's dick has travelled, would she risk frolicking with him without a condom/postinor? If she really aint about the benjamins, then she can get on with her life without wizkid. As for Wizkid, Postinor/Condom, withdrawal, temporary castration (lol), mutual fidelity, abstinence and GROWING UP is advised for the future. Acknowledge these kids, if you cant trust these gals, then get your mum involved...fortunately Big Mammas recognize fakes from far and handle them well... |
And when you sell it, and purchase the form that will be the end of it shey? Effing businessman! On who's platform or back did Ambode get there in the first place? Did he not know the side he was playing with or the person he was signing up with back then? Truth is, he did. Without BAT he would never have sniffed that seat talk less of sitting on it... If he wants to pioneer the revolution that frees Lagos from BAT, well, let him try... but not presenting himself as a victim...there have been victims before him: Obanikoro, Agbaje, Fashola etc make e join the queue abeg |
Tor! All of una wey won come obodo oyinbo - there you have it; you can now ride to Europe & America in the name of cycle touring! Lol! |
Ah! |
Enlisting a 2nd time, Whether wise or not, we are not created to die untimely or recklessly. In these last days, in a country where a life is considered to not be worth much, one needs to weigh one's choices objectively and not only on the basis of "it sounds & feels good" or "God will see you through" or "small boy/girl big God"... in this unfortunate incident, the question is, why Nigerian Army of all Armed Forces choices? For one, the whole recruitment exercise is a sham. No one gets recruited without one connection here or there. After which, to rise in ranks is by how many Senior officers of Northern descent like you. We all know that the Army is the exclusive preserve of the Hausa/Fulani group. For every 10 officers in the Army at least 6 are Hausa/Fulani, the remaining 4 would be the rest of Nigeria. The young lad would have had a better chance in the Navy or Airforce. Taking a look at America, there is the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Course) designed to enlist & prepare college/university students for military life. It has a Junior category for high school ( I believe our NYSC can adopt alot from it) where citizenship, diversity, history, leadership and service are learned. One gets a semi exposure to life and a career in the military. This not only equips you with life skills but also, enables you decide, if the military life is for you or not...if we had an adaptation of such, here in Nigeria, lives ( in term of man hours) and resouces would be maximized. Moreover, in sane societies, from the day you enlist and go for basic, you get paid. That way, in the rare occurence of a death in basic training, your beneficiaries get your pay and the support they require to give the deceased a funeral. BUT WE RE TALKING NAIJA, NIGERIA where everything we adopt from Oyinbo, we abuse...Anyway, like the saying goes 'the thing about a rat race is, even if you win, you are still a rat" meaning had the boy not passed and passed basic training, he would only have succeeded in being a part of a military institution plagued by Ethnic domination, barbaric and brutish practices termed training, relatively poor pay, nepotism and cronyism for promotion and anything totally opposite of the true spirit of being a Soldier/ Army. This should serve as an eye opener to anyone who is planning to join the Nigerian military after college graduation. Ask yourself, after college/University is Nigerian military worth it? I mean if Military is in your destiny, there are far far more options starting from Navy, Airforce (keep in mind though, all na the same for Naija with lil lil difference). Why not go abroad to study, contact your local military recruitment office. They will give you all the information you need (some even allow you to join their physical training sessions for intending cadets to help you ace the physical requirements of basic training); settle in the country as a PR/Citizen then enlist. If you re thinking age, the federal law allows for new recruits up to the age of 38. At that time, one would be prepared, mentally, physically & socially. If the traditional military is TOO STRESSFUL, there are paramilitary alternatives like the Australian Border Force (Australia); United States Department of Homeland Security-related agencies, Each State's Defense Forces (the Coast & National Guard) in the US and The Emergency Response Team (RCMP) in Canada: all of which can provide avenues for a military career. All is down to preparation, knowledge, determination and God not God alone and desire. RIP to the Lad

I have keenly followed this thread and the variant levels of wisdom that has been shared is unquantifiable. It reflects the highly progressive nature of Nigerians. Having lived here for a few months now, I believe the little I have encountered is worth sharing, such that anyone, new, on their way or planning to come can learn from. First of, prepare to have your own unique experience: A lot of Nigerians will tell you their way, their path and what they know. This makes your adaptation easy, cause rather than create your path, you can easily walk the path others have. It is the fastest way to settle down and, get things done. However, what you will have is the common Nigeria experience - all the same. The other day, I met a group of men, who all had uber driving in common. Secondly, utilize your community: if you are Nigerian, igbo, Yoruba etc, you have a community, there is a place to find them: church, mosque etc I say community especially where out here you have no direct blood relative. Thirdly and most importantly, beware of fraudulent Nigerians, who have realized the goldmine immigration matters are out here. Some of them do a short course in immigration, others have hung out with immigration people, while others are just imposters ... whatever class they are, they claim to be immigration consultants, to defraud, charge you and ensure you have paid 85percent of their cost before you see the slightest evidence of what you re paying for; they insist you keep your interactions on watsapp; threaten you when you demand accountability from them and a host of other atrocities. Fourthly while our local African community has its pros, I believe if we all wanted same ol same ol, we would have stayed back in Nigeria. It is my belief, we all want something different, better than what we have known and that is why we have all left our original home to make Canada our new home. To that end, be open, learn the values, the culture of this country that invited us via express entry or other means to be a part of their wealth. Canada is a great place to live, let us keep it that way and even better |
.. while being discreet and not doing any party would have sufficed, to remove the wahala of those who will be offended, them kukuma do the "come chop" (knowing that most wey come wedding na chop them won come chop) and improvise with 'effigy and their photo on top'...still op is not satisfied... My dear op, biko, the acknowledgement of African science is the beginning of wisdom. These ones have set precedence on how to let sleeping dogs lie... a lot of peeps cannot fast, pray, lack how to discern bad vibes concealed in fancy clothes or nice cars yet if they buy indomie, na to instagram, facebook, pre wedding photo on social media... if una like, make una no borrow leaf...oyinbo is using his own science to make life easier a la wifi, internet, bluetooth, cloud storage etc African science na to ensure say others do not progress, smile for a day or even laugh. |
Well said, Daddy Freeze! |
Well, the knowing each other just got formal! |
Na dance dem dey dance for there... Civil servants go just dey boogie down when them no pay them... "...Ojoojumo nko, party ijo..." (In Lagbaja voice) |
Jobberman is not even on the list! SMH!! |
Do Nigerians not hate one another too? |
What is life about? Is it simply about obtaining success? What is success? Really, it is only a matter of opinion. To some success means money, to some success simply means doing what they love or being with those they love. Either way success can only be defined in one word, and that one word is HAPPINESS. It’s the reason we stress over money, chase the perfect partner or try to live up to the worlds image of what we should be – because we believe in getting those things we will one day be happy. Life is not about proving anyone wrong, it's about proving yourself right Life is not about competing against others But life is about competing against yourself To make sure you are better than your previous self Better than you were yesterday To make sure you are growing every day Developing, learning experiencing Life is not about being perfect It is about being happy Not all the time But EVERYTIME YOU CAN Life isn’t about being right. It’s about BEING KIND. When you have a choice to be right or to be kind, choose kindness, CHOOSE LOVE. Life is not about noticing the negatives. It’s about CREATING SUCH HUGE POSITIVES the NEGATIVES PALE in comparison. Life is NOT ABOUT YOU. Its ABOUT EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. We are all connected and all sharing challenges and struggles. Be kind, LIFT OTHERS UP, GIVE FREELY WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN and the world will return happiness and Abundance beyond your wildest dreams. Life ISNT ALL ABOUT MONEY - You can’t take it with you, so don’t stress about it. This doesn’t mean you don’t deserve it or shouldn’t have it. You can create unlimited Abundance and use that to do good for others and yourself and you DO DESERVE IT, just don’t stress about it. Money is great, but only when used with positive intentions. Life isn’t about comparing yourself to others Let everyone else be exactly as they are while you focus on being the BEST YOU Your life is not defined by circumstances Your life is not defined by what does or does not happen to you, it is defined by how you react to what happens to you. How you choose to react to the circumstances and events that arrive in your life. It’s helpful to remember challenges are just tests. Hard times are test and character builders.Never lose your spirit, because it is in our greatest challenges that our greatest strength is formed. That is when our character shines, right after the storm. What’s really important is Who you become through all of life’s challenges. What you make and accumulate will never be a match for ️Who you are and how much happiness you bring to this world Don’t ever forget that. You are a miracle. This world is a blessing. Life is a miracle.Life is really what you make it. Live every day like you are blessed. Live every day as if you are grateful to simply be alive. Be happy, no matter what happens and life will be the amazing adventure it was meant to be. Your purpose, and my wish for you is simple: TO BE HAPPY, to FIND HAPPINESS no matter what life throws at you.

Now, to begin with, I do not eavesdrop, however, I just did! Apologies for being so uncivil. I was getting dinner and couldnt help overhearing the 3 ladies sitting at the booth behind me, and what were they on about? Sperm content! Yes! Shocked me too!! Apparently, one of them had been dating or is it shagging somebody new, and while the shagging was great, according to her, her problem was this dude's sperm flow was "a lot". She went on to say she was glad she was fixed as this dude would have had her pregnant by now...Now it isnt my business, but, this was really new to me. I mean women, talk or complain about size, duration, frequency, romantic or not... but to hear a lady go on about, just how much seed her man is spewing out of his phallus is interesting, innit? So daughters of Eve on here, why would you complain about that? |
The problem with Nigeria, regardless of ethnic group, social class, gender, religion, political party Is simply down to the fact that WE DON'T DEEPLY &TRULY CARE about one another. The society has such affected everyone, to the extent that, a simple courtesy costs a high price, in this case A PRECIOUS LIFE. In developed countries, power going out like is the bane in Nigeria is cause for an emergency.I mean, all emergeNcy services would pe put on active alert and response. In Nigeria,we just can't be bothered.Whoever is next, has the problem, forgetting that if it goes round, it will come round. Now, this indifference is endemic from the bus conductor, the pastor, the co-drivers on the highway, Lastma, the newly elected politicians, Lastma, IKEDC. Imagine if IKEDC would just give a heads up, perhaps via sms or a online portal, where pple can check stuff out, to ascertain, when they are about to take power, and possibly for how long it would be. It would go a long way, imagine, IKEDC had sent a memo or an sms to Gbagada hospital axis, bearing In mind they are an essential services institution, that look, power will go out so and so, that way the hospital would be in a position to not only prepare themselves but also the relatives of the patient. I know, someone will say, where does this gal think she is, THIS IS NIGERIA! Now that is part of the problem, how many texts dyu get a day marketing bulk sms or a useless ringtone, also, how many of NLanders visit more than once a day |
Tbh,there are elements of fact in both groups, that is those who live abroad and those who live at home. I remember, months ago, I had to do business in Nigeria, now having been abroad for years,I struggled with many things, how things work, how people think, the heat and so on. Glad to not have to wear a jacket or thermals,I would hop around with my tees and jeans, try to remain local by brandishing my pidgin, and just muster all the "Nigerianess' I could remember. I was soon to find out, as much as you try, you can't hide where you have been. This is Nigeria, the average 'mekunnu' can smell foreign from 10feet away. Perception is reality in Nigeria, how you are perceived determines what you get. Those abroad are perceived in a certain way, if you live up to the perception, then the 'Twales' for some who aspire to live abroad someday, are in order; but for those who don't hold such aspirations, perhaps after many unsuccessful attempts, the animosity is apalling. Beyond the status of where anyone lives,is the reality that Nigerians generally, have a high recognition for perceived material advantage. Nigerians would readily give preferential treatment to any Joe Blogg: with nothing upstairs but rides a high value automobile; a receptionist, driver in shell, chevron big ups, just due to perceived 'Levels'; anyone who fakes a foreign accent learnt from BGT even without ever applying to an embassy; Its just the way Nigerians are; even out here,Nigerians create distinctions amongst themselves, I mean, those without papers, are persona non grata to those who have; and those who have readily flaunt it and want to be ascribed certain rights; It is just the way people are, and as usual over pronounced in Nigerians. |
