DadojoReloaded: The biker isn't crazy. He could be a professional biker and practising for a race. The problem is that there's no race track for the biker to perform in the country.
Have you ever seen a bike race where the racers do stunts on their bikes?
Obavoh: I came back from work yesterday to see my Wife’s younger Sister in my house.
I was surprised because no one told me she was coming. I greeted and welcomed her.
I later called my Wife aside and asked her why she did not inform me that her sister was coming to pay us a visit. That was when she broke the news to me that the girl was 3 months pregnant and had to leave the village because of shame.
My Wife begged me and even called the girl to come and kneel and beg me to allow her stay until she puts to bed. I was very angry at my wife for that.
I would love to help the girl but the problem is
1) My Father-in-law is not aware that his Daughter is pregnant. Only my Wife and Mother-in-law knows.
2) My Mother-in-law has not called to plead with me to let the Girl stay under my roof. My Wife asked me to call their mother to confirm but I think it should be the other way around.
3) I am currently managing a one room apartment with my Wife and 7 children. The place might not be conducive for a first time pregnant Girl. Feeding her is not a problem.
4) I am afraid I would be the one to pay her Medical bills, antenatal and all. When I asked my Wife she said her mother would pay but I don’t believe this judging from personal experience.
5) What if the girl suffers miscarriage or complications? God forbid. I might be held responsible.
Please advise me on what to do. My creator sees my heart that I would love to help but I am afraid. Should I let her stay or send her away? How do I do this without losing the respect of my Wife and Mother-in-law. What is the best way to help the Girl?
Aniahbaby: We can’t dispute the fact that artificial intelligence is so helpful to humans, and it has reduced the stress and hassle in the workplace. This same AI has made so many people so lazy that they can’t think straight on their own.
For instance, the year before artificial intelligence came into existence, everyone was using their brain to write and think. Ever since we all adopted artificial intelligence into our lives, we can no longer think on our own. It has gotten to the point that even our bosses are no longer demanding ideas from us. Instead, they go online, type in a few prompts, and boom, AI does the thinking and coding. Before, my boss would ask me to write some code or generate ideas for our web project. But now? He just types a few sentences into different AI and tells me to “touch it up.”
How do you expect someone like me to improve if I don’t get to think? I mean, AI is now coding for my boss. It's gradually taking over our responsibilities, and guess what? We are letting it. It’s funny how we begged for jobs and prayed for opportunities to prove ourselves, but now that we finally have them, we are giving them out to machines. I’m not against AI, but it’s like we are slowly pushing ourselves out of relevance.
Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves: are we growing with AI, or are we letting it grow in place of us? Let’s not allow technology to make us useless. Use AI, but don’t lose your human intelligence.
This is why I laughed when someone said AI will replace everyone except some specific IT fields, like Machine Learning. I think it was the former minister, Pantami. Bill Gates also said something similar.
AI will take like 80% of the job, and IT people will have less to do, so their skills will be worth less.
It's hands-on jobs that AI cannot replace, like construction, manufacturing, healthcare, etc, because that will require AGIs run on robots. How many of them will be made to replace the workforce, and what will it cost?
Cousin9999: There is no substitute for the dignity, beauty, and joy of living in your home country/culture.
There are no Nigerians that prefer being abroad. They're abroad because multiple countries and 1% entities are constantly stealing from Nigeria and undermining its government. They are not immigrants, they're refugees of neocolonialism and oligarchs.
On the most basic level, no country besides another African nation or black Caribbean nation can be as pleasant as Nigeria. Nonblacks are not attractive or pleasant to live around, work with, and do business with. Their cultures are boring and lame. Their food and music are garbage. They pollute your children's mind with their various kinds of depravity. They erode your culture. Your grandchildren may not even speak Yoruba/Igbo/etc. Worse, they could be mixed race.
God forbid, make bandit catch you, you go forget dignity.
Make pokice show you shege on top ya own property, you go understand.
Everything in Naija is weaponized against Nigerians. Education, health, food, security, transportation........
I dey Naija o, but na by God's grace I dey survive.
I'm not poor by any metric, but living in Naija is a challenge.
However, I'm not leaving, mostly because of my age. My kids? That's another matter. THEY can leave. I'll encourage them to.
Glimpsetv: A viral CCTV footage showing three ladies stealing shoes from a store while pretending to shop has sparked widespread reactions online.
In the video, one of the women is seen pushing a baby stroller. Initially, one of them discreetly drops a pair of shoes into the stroller. Later on, the baby is taken out of the stroller, and another lady pushes it to a different corner of the store.
