this thread makes me want to vomit with disgust.

ypad:
I have read both side stories and this is my findings.

How comes the woman waited so long before taking the case to Police.
Why did star news paper not interviewed the man and the two kids?
I thought infidelity should be the reason for fight as commonly seen in couples but to my surprise it was food.
For a husband to reject a wife food shows she can not cook well or the man is angry at her, or she is not playing her role well or the man have eaten some where etc.
There is no smoke without fire.
how many nigerian women do you know report their husband to the police? how many nigerian police will arrest men for beating their wives?
I reserve my comments on your opinion about her cooking skills and role as a woman.
Obviously we have a long way to go.

The most have wangle her tongue roughly to the man which lead to beaten.
women have become animals that get beaten for speaking. being treated like primary school children.
na wa for Africa

Shinatu:
A woman brought a lover into the house, banned you from visiting and seeing your kids and you still called her up when you became an Ambassador because you 'thought the honour was due her'?
and you actually believe his story?
I don't think he is the dumb one. I think the people who believe his story are the  lipsrsealed

pls @all use your head in dis case, who has alot to lose and gain if this story is made public shud form a basis for investigation, Make i go drink beer!
what is you guys' problem about the story being made public. why are you trying to hide in the closet that you beat your wives at home?

I hope this teaches you men lesson not to take advantage of women's weaker physique. the more women who speak out and talk publicly about violence and wife-beaters, the better for the world.

PhysicsMHD:
This whole case is some law & order/csi stuff now. . .
I don't see anything CSI about it. what i'm surprised at is how many of the posters here ( all men obviously) actually believe the guy's concocted story.

White007:
IMO. I think the man might be telling the truth.
of course he doesn't want to lose his job.

they will never admit to it. the people who are judging the case are usually all men too. even the police tend to be all men. so in the end, the woman always lose. especially in Africa.

even though it's very obvious that wife-beaters are rampant. I witness such event in Nigeria where the woman reported a beating to the police and the police ended up beating her more. her clothes were torn and there was a crowd watching. I felt deeply embarrassed for her

I really don't know when Nigeria will develop if we continue to treat women like animals

How do you exercise restrain when another human is trying to choke/strangle you?
how many cases of men being strangled and choked by women do you hear about?
most likely (over 90% of cases), it is the woman who always gets strangled, choked and physically abused. not the man
so I don't get your point

it's like a primary school teacher trying to explain why he beat his student to death by saying the student is trying to choke him. we all know who is physically stronger so it's a silly argument.

her friend Yvonne arrived and together with my daughter they drove off. No ambulance was needed to convey Mrs Wigwe to hospital. Mrs Wigwe did not first rush to the Police to report the incident and show her injuries to the police. Mrs Wigwe only reported to the police on 27th May!
how many nigerian women rush to the police after their husband beat them up?
most victims of domestic violence do not rush to the police. unless the victim is an empowered woman (ex. many white american women ).

she went to the hospital to treat her wounds that makes sense but I can understand why she didn't go to the police.

Things are not always what they seem. The man might be right and the woman wrong and vice versa. But i wuld not support a man hittin a woman and wil also not support a woman go to the press first to report the story, there is something fishy there. Alot of american films av taught me that the person who brings evidence can be the devil. The innocent looking accussed can stil be the devil. Check out the movie 'devils advocate'
why is it fishy to you? why do you want the story hidden from the press?

below is the story of a Libyan woman who was gang rap.ed and abused up by 15 men. She ran away to a hotel with bruises all over her and the govt tried to hide her from the media and reporters. why do they all want to hide it from the press?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42953132/ns/world_news-mideast_n_africa/t/alleged-gang-violation-victim-flees-libya/

Domestic violence ought to be publicized more. it is sort of a hidden and unspoken reality that many women around the world face.

take a good look at the picture and tell me she wasn't beaten up.

It is clear that the diplomat must have hired a good lawyer to come up this kind of story.
I don't know about "good" unless you mean good lawyer liar.

Mrs. Wigwe, on seeing what happened, is alleged to have smeared the blood all over her face, and then proceeded to take pictures of herself for evidence.
does this look like she smeared blood on her face?

Intelligent models are hard to find. If they are intelligent, some of them play dumb intentionally.
many high fashion models are very intelligent. alek wek, tyra banks, oluchi, liya kedebe, iman, carla bruni and d likes. the ones that get signed up to the big name agencies. many speak multiple languages, are well read, well traveled and sometimes come from influential or noble families. these are high class models

I think OP is probably speaking about local beauty contest/ pageant/tiara models ex.Miss Chattanooga, Miss America, Miss victoria secret *puke*
not much class to this at all.

A millionaire's ego is often justified? Chei, poor man don suffer o.[/quote]lol. I think you are misinterpreting my comment.

a rich man commanding his wife to stay at home is justified compared to a broke man commanding his wife to stay at home.
the rich man can afford to say that but the poor man is just running his mouth.
