BUT this does not mean the person ceases to be a christian just because they made a mistake or said something wrong.

 Can't we just accept oga Oyedepo made a mistake? is this too unthinkable a thing?     na wa oh make una move on, this is NOT a big deal.

Prayer Request.
There is someone I would want you to please pray for. Even if it is a decree or just some spoken words of faith, I would greatly appreciate it. Bola is her name and she is a friend, a very "big" friend to me. She is in her late 30 and yet to get married. Please, I believe in your prayers, because the Bible assures me of the power in joint prayers!, that in this same year 2008, the Lord would open doors of marital breakthrough and give unto her the man after His own heart.

I want to see God move in her life this year, I want to see her share her testimonies in Jesus name. Amen

I have two prayer requests from two of my friends. They are:

1. A colleague of mine wants healing for a friend of hers (a popular female actress) that is in the intensive care unit of LUTH for kidney problem.

2. A friend sent this text to me this morning "please pray along with me 4 my sister, I spoke 2 my mum, I was told she has been at the hospital 4 almost two weeks and she cannot walk well not to talk of leaving the bed"

I believe in the anointed and God's presence in this thread and believe that these two situations can turnaround for good. Please join us in prayer. Thanks all. Love u guys.

Heavenly Father we pray right now in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, that you would touch the people who are in desperate need of you right now. We pray Lord that you will open doors that no man can shut and heal the sick that are looking to you for deliverance. Sometimes the way we presents ourselves before others determines how people take us. Why not look for something in the field that matches your style of life and make good out of it instead of contradicting things.


That's my point.

My brotha you do have a good point in saying that appearances do matter, that is a no-brainer. However people should also learn not to stereotype others and as you say "choose a look that matches your career" what will you say about me? I am a scientist and I had dredlocks for a few yrs in my field. The good thing was that I worked at a great company that did not care about looks but instead my qualifications.

I grew up in Nigeria but I came from the poorest areas southern Nigeria. Tell you what, I have known discrimination from the first time i stepped into the city till now I am in the UK.

The whole tribe i came from curse with my tribes name, my closer clan curse with my tribes name. No body believes anything good can come out of us.

I was in the University chior and it was time to select a new chiormaster. I knew I was very good. There were 2 of us that came out. The second person was mentored by me. When I was asked to say things i had achieved in music. i said I won the regional competition and when I mentioned where, it was like night of 1000 laughs was unleashed on me. I would have sank into the ground if it was possible.

I am trying to tell you that discrimination is everywhere

But the worst will be for you to allow it to affect your self esteem.
What this did to me was to make me competitive rather make me sulk. I always aimed to be the best. Did i succeed? YES
Baby try and get over it. when you come out with bright colours, you will silence all of them. I believe that when you stand where they cannot stand and make statements they will want to be your friends.
Success they say has many friends. NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO FAIL. If you lose your esteem, you will hardly make it because confidence will go with it.

What I went through in nigeria, made me to disregard the so-called racism tag. Tell you what? It is good for me.

I had dreds a few yrs ago and took a whole lotta criticism for it during the 5yrs I had it. Once I was conversing with a lady from ghana about my work (I'm a scientist) she looked at me funny and said "what about your hair? they let you come to work like that?"
I almost got angry but instead laughed and said "so what?" how does that reflect on my capabilities or qualifications? Some people are just stuck in their ways, but unfortunately there are many many corporations that won't hire dredlocks so you hafta pick which is more important to you.

I lied about the getting married part,I was in Nigeria alright.

I've been married a while to a wonderful man,the love of my life,the most romantic man ever and we are blessed with a few children.
Please find it in your hearts to forgive me especially my friends on this forum.I came clean offline to almondjoy whom I still communicate with in another forum and I wanted to set the records straight here.
But I will not tell you how long I've been married and how many kids we have.
I will still keep that part of me private.

I know I'm opening myself up for all sorts of name callings but I'm a big girl.I can take it.
