pro01: I have the same problem sef. One day my fried eggs taste amazing, and the next day it is awful - even though I believe I used the same ingredients and all. I wonder how some women manage to replicate "excellence" in cooking. I hope there's not more to it than meets the eye. fluid26: I find it difficult duplicating excellence in cooking. How do I rectify this anomaly? What must I do? Help me!...maybe until you can cook perfectly by experience you should follow a recipe - this recipe can be your own. -List all your ingredients -Detail what you added, amounts and in what order -Note the cooking times if it turns out well, this is your recipe, repeat until you can do it by heart. If it doesn't turn out well, then do it again until you get a good recipe you can re-use. Also cooking has a lot to do with 'feel' 'touch' and 'understanding'. Try to think about the ingredients you're adding and what each spice brings to the dish. Will adding curry enhance the flavor? or take away from the natural fish taste? will adding more onions overpower the rest of the dish? etc etc This will help you to be more instinctive when you cook without strictly following a recipe. And practice practice practice, there is no special trick other than that. Goodluck ![]() |
Yomieluv: So hungry one day, that I had to take a bike to a restaurant like 5 buildings away from my house.ROTFLOL |
Through and through a fantastic thread. Thanks to MrAnony for starting this and to all those who've shared. Been inspiring reading your stories. God reaches each one where they are - some are instantaneous, some change over a long period of time, some stumble and then return to the fold - all in all, God is Lord over us all. And may He continue to keep us until His glorious return. Amen! |
https://www.nairaland.com/1154220/end-world-fear-fascination-frustration pls continue there^ |

Okija & Bidam, fellas please put a lid on the insults, otherwise _____ you know what. Thanks. |
Goshen360: I do not think culture/tradition influenced 'certain' portion of Apostle Paul's writing otherwise he will not be writing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit but influenced by culture/tradition.Cool. Lemme re-ask the question differently... What is your explanation on Paul's more controversial directives such as "women covering their hair" "women not speaking in churches" "no remarrying unless other spouse dies" "women not wearing jewelry" Etc etc etc... I'm saying scripture (for the christian) is undoubtedly of divine inspiration it is also and equally of human composition, composed for a specific congregation in a specific generation - there is inevitably cultural bias (for lack of a better word). It is a living document, whose principles (and not the culture/time/event-specific actions) can be applied across time & circumstance. My answer for commands such as Paul's, we would need to draw back the cultural garb to the heart of what he was truly intending to address - displaying appropriate behavior wherever you are at. ^I already know brother Imgage disagrees with me on this part^ .Image thank you oh. Ibibio, check. I dey fine by our God's good grace. I'm sure your lamp will never run our of oil. Amen. |
ROTFLOL...omg, straight up hilarious. Tomeseen pls post part2 ![]() |
Goshen360: Anti mi JeSoul, na Yoruba me type na.Nah the one wey brother Image type I dey wonder... Goshen360: That's it right there! If nobody can establish eating amala is right or wrong, why do we make issues out of it? Why call it bad or wrong or good or whatever. My point is, as far as scripture is concern, such issues are irrelevant and we shouldn't tag it 'bad'.Lol. Hey, you can start your own church tradition lol. Right on in regards to the first part of your post. I agree. Lemme ask you...do you think culture/tradition influenced certain portions of scripture? especially many of Paul's directions/commands in the NT? |
plappville: Na every time I see bros image123, na laugh dey catch me...You dis my sister wetin now? christmas you no do. Easter you no do. Sunday sabbath you no do. New year now you no do ah ah... Whether you like am or not Happy New year jor ![]() Goshen360: And nobody has been able to establish from the scripture that crossing legs while in worship place is wrongPresident Goshen. Suffrey suffrey. Nobody can establish from scripture either that eating amala is right or wrong...if you catch my drift ![]() |
Tgirl4real: Thanks for d last bit jare. Why should we import culture n traditional into worship in church. My sister happy new year oh. May your pot of egusi stew with goat meat, pomo & shaki never run dry in 2013 . Amen. Its interesting... I do think culture/tradition does influence church worship (that was the whole deal with Paul and his instructions on women). Where & how we draw the line is the challenge. Snr brother, which language be dat now? Happy new year oh. I'm looking for big things from you in 2013 ![]() |
Happy new year fellas & sisters ![]() I agree with Plappville and others. On a small hand, I feel what snr brother Image said as I'm also a proponent of doing what is contextually appropriate - though it may not be a universally wrong action. I was in a hotel lounge with hubby in athens few yrs ago. Very large seating area separated from the action in the main lobby and no one else was there but us. In usual j/k).Anyways, whether my feet were up or down was of no consequence to anyone else in an empty lounge area - but in their culture it was a rude & disrespectful thing so I adapted and did as Greeks did when in Greece - for the sake of peace. ^all that said - crossing your legs in church....kini bigi deal? ![]() |
Logicboy03: Please, can this comment be removed from the thread? It has nothing to do with the serious topic of the threadIsn't this kinda redundant? there's already a thread "Best Religion Section Topics" https://www.nairaland.com/966136/best-religion-forum-topics-d" stickied on top the page - its there for the best threads in the section - christian, atheist and otherwise. It was started by Muskeeto who is an athiest. Can't you use that space to post your topics? |
Stritklymi: Why was my post was hidden? Can you please post the link? I searched your profile and can't find the post you're refering to. Thanks. seyibrown: Hi Mods, Is there an existing thread dedicated to Christian 'testimony'(of thanksgiving, miracles etc)? Please kindly point me in the right direction. Thanks.there have been a couple over the years. Feel free to create a new one and we'll ensure it stays clean. Cheers and happy new year sister. |
^lol. We respond soon as we see it. It's the spambot that is 'attacking' you, banned you several times. Sorry, the thing can be annoying. The ban has expired and you should be able to post now. I've also untagged the posts it flagged so you should be good now. Let us know if you run into any other issues. Godbless sis. |
I want to personally thank Manmustwac for the great job he did here. He has handled the POY the last few yrs and done a great job as I'm typically not around then. For counting endless pages of votes (the number of votes/participation this year was insane!!!), oga I salute you. Great job! Merry belated christmas and a very prosperous new year to you. And a big congrats to Goshen. I have enjoyed the many threads he has opened this year and appreciated 'taking care' of requests/issues on the mod thread when MMW and myself are not around. You are appreciated brother and may the blessings of God never depart from his house. And congrats to logicboy & anony as well. Making it so far speaks to how popular you both are in the section. Have a fantastic 2013 ahead. |
