HolySteph: Hello mamas in the house. My 5weeks old baby has been having skin rash on his neck and back. At first my mil said its normal(I agree) but now its getting worse. I stopped using a particular moju powder and started with one chicco powder that helped cleared it a bit but the healing is slow. Now I'm using tributan to see if itll work. I'm beginning to think its Ella It looks more like baby eczema (read up on atopic dermatitis) which could be as a result of the severe heat. tribotan is gentle on the skin but you need to be patient to see the effect. personally I don't subscribe to using powder for an infant but you can carefully rub in agnesia/rising raving powder instead of the moju powder. |

Glowprincess: She's 21months. I'll definitely ask the teacher. Since she resumed, I've always found her alone, while other kids are playing. I think I only saw her once playing with them. But like what exactly would I ask the teacher? "Aunty why is she always alone?". PS I feel if a child doesn't want to play or is keeping to herself, the teacher should help in helping her let loose. The day they were all taking a selfie round the teachers table she was alone on her seat. A 'normal' teacher would at least call her or try to carry her. It just feels somehow to me. And I can't ask "auntie, why isn't she taking a pic?" or maybe jokingly. I wee ask anyhow anyhow. Your instincts tells you sth is not right as a mother so you need to follow it until proven otherwise. The teacher owes you an explanation. I'm quite surprised sef that the teacher has not mentioned anything to you since she's even new in their midst. The teacher might try to cover up her own shortcomings but make sure you catch the salient points and read between the lines too. cc.helovesme |

Glowprincess: Thanks. She just begun schooling there. First school. She's 21 months. So we can't 'communicate' like that. No complaints from her teacher. Once we step out of the school, she's already singing with me. Plus she's very playful at home, her normal self. awww...I guess she's still trying to adjust to the new faces and their mode of teaching/playing in the school. In spite of that, speak with her teacher to know how she has been responding to her new environment. That should guide your next line of action. lovely regards to your princess. |

thotianna: Hello house, please I need advice.
I went for an evacuation procedure on Monday to remove any remnants of placenta from inside and I was given antibiotics and painkillers. The antibiotics was just to prevent infections from the procedure.
I noticed on the second day of taking the antibiotics that my babies stooling seemed to have increased to like 6 times a day from about three times before I started the antibiotics.
I checked online and sure enough the info there said that antibiotics makes babies have diarrhea.
I stopped the drugs immediately to avoid harming him. So yesterday I started feeling pains on my lower pelvis and I dunno what the cause was. I really hope it isn't an infection due to my stopping the drugs.
Please if anyone has any alternative precautions I can take to prevent infections which does not affect babies I would really appreciate your replies. Thanks.
My baby is less than three weeks old. The Dr knew you were breastfeeding before prescribing the antibiotics. pls continue with your drugs. your baby is not in harm's way. better still, call the doctor and tell him/her your observation so you can be guided. wish you speedy recovery. |

Glowprincess: Mamas in the house. I greet you all. My heart has been troubled. Each time I go and pick my daughter from school, she's always isolated. There was this day I went to pick her and the other kids were surrounding their teacher taking selfies, she was just on her seat looking. Today, I just got home from picking her, the other kids were seated on the play mat while some where dancing, cos they were playing kiddies songs on the TV. On a norms my baby can't hear song and sit down. lol. But she was glued to her seat only her. Made me feel somehow. What could be the problem? Is this totally okay or it's all in my head? Did she just start going to that school? has she attended any other school apart from the one being spoken about? Has there been any complaints from her teachers? you need to always ask about a report of how your daughter fared in school each day when you pick her up.this will help you know what you need to work on. How does she behave when she gets home too. Do you ask her questions so she can narrate her experience. You need to ascertain she's not bullied or belittled. You need to ensure that you build a strong communication link with her so she gets fond of telling you everything. cc.zaynie..iya teacher, come and chuk mouth when you are less busy |

Taymi: Hello mummys, please what business can I do with 100 -150k ? Sorry to derail tread. Need to leave my job this month end. "Too stressed" please advice a mum This month end is just some days away o. I understand you are trying to plan but please don't rush into just any business. With the capital you have at hand, having your business online is way to go. You must also ask yourself about what you enjoy doing. This will help you to be enthusiastic about your products. Your products could be physical items you make by yourself you can sell knowledge I.e teach what you know you can partner with a company and sell their products at a profit or earn commissions. draw up a customer profile/avatar. This will help you to easily know who exactly your customer is and you won't be trying to sell to everybody. run a market survey especially amongst the category of people that fit into your customer profile. Think of where they usually hang out. an example is someone trying to sell baby stuff will find her ideal customer on this thread. by doing this, you will be able to sell something that people need and are willing to pay for it. Ensure that whatever you are selling is solving somebody's nagging problem. You may think there are plenty pple in the line of business you want to settle for, don't worry, just make sure you analyse similar businesses then capitalise on sth they may be overlooking. make marketing your friend o if you want to sell very well. I wish you all the best and if at first you don't succeed, try try try again. |

keeki: so I can give my son goodmorning oats? Yes if your son is 6months+ and you have started him on solids. You will need to blend it to fine powder before cooking so that the texture will be ok for him to take. I sweeten with milk/formula or apple puree or banana whenever my ds takes it. |

It's 3days now and I don't think he's constipated cause his tummy isn't hard What can I do? if you have started giving him water, increase his intake. meals like oats also help their bowel movement if he has stared taking solids too. |

Anugod: Good morning mummies. Abeg pardon my silly question. When babies begin to go out normally (from 3 months), is it OK to enter market with them? Will all the different smells and noisy market environment affect them in any way? Cos they're used to the quiet, clean air environment at home. Please no look the question, just answer me. Na ftm cause am Babies react differently. The few times I entered the market with my ds, I strapped him to my back with his hands inside so he doesn't go stretching his hands to touch anyone. I also buy from the nearest seller and avoid going upandan to get good bargains. just make sure your baby is well fed before going to avoid cry cry and all the women begging you to stop and breastfeed your baby. I try to avoid it cos I'm not too comfortable with the idea. |

HolySteph: Good evening mummies in the house. I'm a new mom and my baby is just a week old.. I discovered rashes on my baby on the third day of delivery I told my grandma amd mother in law but they said its change of skin, biko how person dey shade skin with so much rashes? initially I was cool with it but now its spreading all over his body. I asked them they keep saying the same thing.. I dn tire. I'm beginning to think its the hot weather couple with the hot bath every morning and night and with the coconut oil we apply on him. I can't seem to place where the problem is coming from. My baby feels uncomfortable at night and NEPA no dey try. I don't know if its the drugs they places me on after delivery that is passing through breastmilk to my baby?
Pls mamas help me.. The water for his bath does not need to be hot. make it tepid. you can also stop applying coconut oil in the mean time cos of the hot weather. His skin needs to breathe. you can also reduce the number of items used to wrap him cos our grandmas sabi overwrap babies. Changing of skin is different from rashes. You can use rechargeable fan at night to ease the discomfort. |

My baby was given OPV 1, Penta 1, PCV 1. Nothing was said about Rota 1. Please what is he current price for Rotavirus? Is it advisable to take it in a govt hospital or a private one? If you're in Lagos, you can only get Rota vaccine FREE in Somolu PHC. A mama here recently mentioned Oloja area in Somolu to be precise. In private hospitals it's given for 7k-10k. |
