booqee: thanks mamas.
Funny enough, this is the way my period started two weeks ago, I first spotted brown black blood for two days before real red period began. I hope this is not period, cos its just about 14 days it could be period. I remember there were times I had my period twice within a month as well. I only made sure to note it down so I can report any anomaly. now, that has stopped but period now shows for 4days as against 5days pre childbirth. In all, your body is gradually adjusting. cheers |

booqee: Please I saw my period two weeks ago (I gave birth in February). This evening I saw discharge on my pant.. But its blood tinged discharge. More brownish than red. What could this mean. Your hormones are still in the process of getting balanced after childbirth so just relax. panty liners will become one accessory you will enjoy using now as a result of discharges. see enh....your body has changed. just be observing it so you get used to the new phase. If you still have more concerns based on what you observe, speak to your doctor to explain better. cheers |

treasuremi1: Our first child is 6 months old and approaching her 7th. About two days ago, she has not been eating her cereals well as expected. (She didn't even take pure formula at all, we tried this when her mum resumed work when she was 4months and approaching 5). At 6, She ate the cereals well for some time. (Cerelac, Nutribom & Pap mixed with Nan). But now her eating habit has declined, she cries when she is being fed. This is giving us a little bit of concern. Are there experienced mums in the house who can offer advice and help? Thanks Your child may be tired of those cereals. since she's approaching 7 months, you can start complimentary feeding with foods such as banana puree, blended oatmeal, apple puree, mashed sweet potatoes, amala+ewedu, deboned Titus fish, etc. cheers |

iaatmgirl: Good afternoon mamas,
How are we, our little ones and our entire family?
Pls I have come from pregnancy thread with my plenty questions on baby's skin products.
Thank you for your responses. na real plenty kweshun.. my personal experience with my ds. I use sebamed baby soap for daily bath and I wash my lo's hair daily. I bought sebamed baby milk and oil but eventually didn't use it at all. I use pure coconut oil for his body and nappy area( I make by myself or buy from a reliable source sometimes.) when I notice his back skin getting overly dry, I use sheabutter cos of its moisturising effect. We are few days to 12months and I haven't had bothering issues with his skin save for an allergic reaction which disappeared as soon as he was given appropriate treatment. I take time to read/learn about the content/properties of every product I use for my ds and this enables me to know what/when to apply. hth cheers |

queensnow: From oshodi u can board a bus going to New garage or bariga tell them u want to drop at charly boy wen u drop take a bike to ambode health centre at shomolu market (oja) (100-150 charges) Rather u can take keke napep going to ladi-lak (50) at charly boy then from ladilak u will get keke going to oja (50) it will drop u right in front of where u at going Nb: the above route is if u want to avoid climbing bridge The below route is if u don't mind Either way the 2 route will lead u to ur location.
Or u go board palmgroove bus at oshodi then u climb the bridge to the other side from there u get a bike to health centre. lioha |

LholarB: . Mamas, Biko help me with this kweshun, and I am still confused about the Reload infant drops cos am seeing diff types on Google , I just need to be sure which to buy and if I can use for my DD cos my MIL is so bent on me using it or Wellbaby/kid because of her weight loss or I wait till after 6 months!! the infant drops will be more appropriate for your DD. The other liquids are for older kids from age 1. from my observation, multivitamin drugs only help with nutritional deficiency and not necessarily make a child eat more. |

[quote author=olubankemi post=66287111]I will advice that you always set rules of engagement when transacting with anyone whether for free or paid. that way, limits are set and parties are aware when they are trespassing.

Ammy5565: Hian! All these serenren on top butter? I can't guarantee o, so i better not waste my money. Please can you recommend other cheaper and less 'serenren' alternatives? Thank you. lol....It is not serenren o and its no big deal sef. just wanted you to be aware of how to enjoy your butter so you don't thrash it again. spend this billions abeg....buy the 100g pack at least you fit use am chop your bread or cracker biscuit. |

Ammy5565: Hian! The thing "dear" small oh. Kai. it used to be much cheaper until the dollar saga. you may be lucky to find the 100g size of president /oldenburger brand. that one is cheaper and you won't have to store it for too long. If power supply in your area is not good, I'll advice you not to bother with it cos you need to store it in the fridge/freezer to prevent it from melting. If it keeps melting, it can go rancid easily which won't be good. When keeping in the fridge, be sure to keep it in a covered bowl cos it absorbs odours easily. |

Ammy5565: One mama here (can't recall her moniker),advised i fry my son's food with butter instead of groundnut oil. When i went shopping, the lady there recommended simas, so i chattered. I just made pancakes now for my son with the Simas butter and oh my God, everything ended up in my dustbin. The pancakes were sooooooooooo salty, my goodness! Even i couldn't eat any. I dey vex, kai. Please are there other brands that are not as salty? Please mamas, any recommendations? Simas is not butter o. even as margarine sef, the taste is somehow. go to stores that have cold storage(freezers) and buy unsalted butter. There are plenty brands available sef. e.g. anchor, lurpak, kerrygold, president, oldenburger, etc. Just hold like #1500 for a 200-250g pack. |

She has refused taking any formula/ pap n I really nid sumtin else to compliment breast milk so dts d reason for me asking. have you tried changing the brand of formula to another one? you will need to get cereals for supported sitters in that case. check on the packs. its written on it. |

Cohis: Good Evening mama's, pls a quick question. Is it too early to start a 5month old baby on cereal? based on d fact dt most of d cereals states 6months n above.
Pls which of d cereal is not too sweet because my baby don't like sweet food.
Cc: All mama's starting at 6 months is usually advised. Prior to that, all your baby needs is milk milk milk. I will encourage you to wait till your baby is 6 months before starting with complimentary feeding. cerelac maize and soya, nutribom rice cereals are not sweet. |

rvpbae: I have ported officially! I have always been peeping. Today i welcomed my prince at past 3am ish today. lol
Anyway, glad to be here. Please how can i aid lactation? I'm all alone with no help, i be jjc, together with my hubby.
Baby sleeps a lot and has eaten twice today. Pls how do i know when it's enough? I prepare 30ml of nan1 and he does barely half while sleeping most of the time. Is that enough for him? I intend feeding him again tonight sha.
Pls you guys should help me abeg. Thank you Congrats mama. newborns generally sleep for plenty plenty hours. Their stomachs are still small too so I'm sure he's getting filled if not he will be crying/gives cues that he wants to eat. To aid lactation, drink hot water/pap/tea. hot meals. fenugreek seeds also work if you can get it from big stores/pharmacies. Make sure you are resting well. stay happy and positive too. Enjoy motherhood. |

booqee: My baby says hi to all the wonderful moms here..
Please what's the normal temperature for a baby, at what point and above is it too high, and also too low for baby less than three months. Her body gets hot sometimes (not extremely though) that i don't know if I should be worried or not.
I want to get this type of thermometer below too, are they reliable? normal temperature is in the range of 36c - 37.5c . only a thermometer can help with accuracy. there are times the baby's body feels hot when touched and when checked with thermometer, it will give a normal reading. I believe the thermometer shown in the pic is ok. I use a similar one made by omron and bought it for 1k during antenatal classes. |
