.I heard this cough is common among my hubby's part of the family. One of the nieces as a baby would cough until she'd faint. I'd sha hold off on the honey but I really need a home remedy that works
coughing till one faints...that must be a serious something.
In the course of getting a remedy that works, investigate on possible triggers from hubby's family so you can help giddybaby avoid that kind of energy draining cough.
You must also ensure you keep her immune level high always.

Is it OK to put a baby to sleep on her chest at 3weeks. I found she sleeps longer. I only tried it once though
It is risky. Google SIDS(sudden infant death syndrome).

babies truly sleep longer when they lie on their chest and it used to be the norm in time past but research is now preaching against it. I mentioned this cos the older people around you may nag you if you do otherwise.

if you have to, be sure to be nearby so that the baby does not get endangered with suffocation.

Hello, Please is the below SMA OK? Because I noticed almost everybody here that uses SMA, uses SMA gold or Nan1.

I need to know so that once this one is exhausted, I can switch. Although so far, she is taking this one very well, no changes in her poo or anything. Everything is fine overall.

Thanks for ur anticipated response
if your baby is taking this one well with no issues, there's no need to change it.
There's no way to know if she will readily accept/like what you switch to.

my question is :

how do you package it to the creche and please which other puree can i make for my Ds to take to creche. he is taking sweet potato and carot for now. want to give him other puree food.

pack the purees in a bowls/cups that are well sealed without leaking to prevent messing up your baby's bag.
you can also pack
Apple, mango, banana puree
rice, Irish potato, fried egg, boiled egg yolk etc.

just fill your bag with like 100k. I believe you can get something below that sha but you may need to do plenty bargaining plus some diy things.

Mamas please, how do i prevent my six weeks old from contracting measles from his elder bro, please help a worried mum,the rash just showed up this morning after bathing him, just last night while my baby was crying i met him singing and at the same time coughing at his face.
Are you sure it is measles? Some rashes/allergy can so look like measles at times.
Take him for immediate check and treatment.
do your best to isolate him from your new baby while he's being treated.

take care.

Sabi mamas pls ooooo; cc Jina24, zaynie, hunniesuzie, liftedhands, enque ( it don't think its a pirated copy ooo as it's clear as watching a movie at home. the station is Excel Tv)

Oats is good for babies aged 6months and above as far as I know.
me I have never heard that story of it being bad because it's rich in fibre.
infact fibre rich foods helps with bowel movement.
Since you started giving it to Zoey, has she ever reacted badly to it?

Pls, what can I do to get my baby to eat her food. She doesn't take her pap or cereals anymore. Even if I try to force her she'll just keep it inside her mouth without swallowing it. It's becoming draining for me.
She's 6months.
Cc. all mamas
if it is only pap and cereals then she might be tired of taking them. She probably needs a change in her taste. you can try apple/banana puree.
try mashed sweet potato too.

U sure say we no dey related somehow somehow lol.. We've had some similar symptoms from pregnancy now with our babies except for ur baby boy. Btw, What's the difference btw normal SMA and SMA gold? I was using the normal one when I couldn't breastfeed before I dumped it. It seems everyone uses either SMA gold or NAN1.

Cc: all mamas
With reference to SMA & SMA GOLD, they are manufactured in different countries. If I remember well, one in made in Singapore while the other is made in UK. One is also referred to as sma optipro. The contents are about the same the last time I checked.
My ds refused to take sma gold and nan so we make do with cow & gate.

No creche o. Dh won't even let me carry his 15 weeks baby to a creche away from me. sad He even says if anybody collects her and takes a step away, I should follow grin and never let his daughter leave my sight for a sec angry cheesy

Yes o, you be mother hen o....I agree with looking after your baby no matter the person carrying her. Anyone who wants to talk, let them talk. Your child needs to be well protected. The earlier you set the rules, the better people understand what you allow/disallow. If not, they will help you feed your child with Fanta, lollipop and the likes....

I was giving her vitamin c o, till I noticed it affected her poo (I saw diarrhoea as one of the side effects of overdose) so I stopped it, even though I wasn't giving her overdose.

Some babies react to sweet drugs e.g. my own ds used to have green poo with wellbaby kid multivitamin. So use the vitamin c when necessary especially on days you notice she has put orisirisi in her mouth.

Dh has brought the zinc and ort now sha. They said to take half of a tablet of zinc. Is that OK?

yes, half a tablet of zinc.

Morning mamas. Please come to my aid biko embarassed embarassed

I resumed school where I'm teaching on Monday this week. As expected, everybody wanted to carry my baby. Even my class students. Toh, I tried to be careful and watchful, as my madam has seriously started shoving everything around her into her mouth, her hands being the major victim. When someone holds her hands, I would immediately after wipe with her wipes.

Ironically, she started pooing loose stool that very Monday. embarassed My babe that could go days without pooing before pooed 4 times that day, tho they were small in quantity each time.

How do I control her trying to put everything into her mouth or trying to lick whoever is carrying her?

Abeg help me bikonu, no waka pass, na beg I dey cry cry cry

Ps. We would be 4 months this time next week.
Is there no creche at your school?

if you must let her be with you in school then anyone that will carry her will need to wash their hands before carrying or else enrol her in a crèche to minimize the number of people carrying her and at least you will be assured of an environment tailored to baby care.

let her start taking vitamin c everyday to fight infections.

you see that putting of things in mouth enh...just pack everything that poses risk away from her reach.

For the present situation, use the ors and zinc. you can equally give her pureed banana to harden her stool.

hunniesuzie, will a BRAT diet work in this case?

I've gone to check out crèches very close to me and they are good but I can't help this nagging feeling of them not taking good care of her.
The feeling is natural for a mother. You sef said they are good so just choose the best out of the good ones. since its close to you, you can easily monitor them by checking on her.

Mamas have often mentioned what to look out for so use that as a guide.
pray and trust God to guide you through.

Please experienced mums, is nospamin safe to treat colic? I already inquired at the hospital and they said a big fat NO saying there's no cure for colic and it will eventually pass, while nospamin causes babies to accumulate gas in their belly and make it swell. but my Mum and MIL claims its safe during their time and I'm really tempted to ask my mum to get it as she has been on my neck to ignore the hospitals opinion.

This incessant cry from my baby is making me lose my mind. She is unusually inconsolable, draws up her leg like she's in pain and squeezes her face in pain when crying. And it always in the midnight when we all need good sleep. I don't know what to do!
The name of the drug for treating colic/being gassy is PATIENCE & ENDURANCE.

All those other drugs(nospamin, infacol, gripewater etc.) just have a placebo effect. The uneasiness come often and I doubt if you would want keep dosing your baby with drugs every now and then.
The cries are heart wrenching I agree and can make you do almost anything but just wait it out.
The baby's body system is still developing hence the discomfort.
I tried gripe water during our own episodes and it didn't do anything except to make him drowsy. I eventually threw the remaining away.

I think I need a smallie to stay with me

I can't do anything except she's sleeping for two mins
if you don't think it's out of place, I'll suggest you put her in a creche near your house for few hrs say like 9am-2pm(I presume you work from home). Use that time to concentrate on your work.
Babies will always need attention. my mum helps me with my ds and everyday when I get back from work, she's full of stories on how he didn't allow her do any serious work.
When I'm off work and I stay with him too, I get what she's saying. Sometimes I'm like can't you just sit and play in one place, my mum will reply Olorun oni je ka ri iru e (God won't allow such).

God guide you aright.

Jst got back from Alimosho General hospital and the rotavaccine dt took me there is not available. Infact, the matrons I met there vaccinating said quote n unquote dt "THE VACCINE IS NOT IN NIGERIA THATS Y FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAVE NOT STARTED GIVING IT FOR FREE BUT YOU CAN GET IT FROM A BIG PHARMACY N IT's EXPENSIVE. When I asked some mothers I met there b4 they started vaccinating, they all said yes they give n it's free till I asked one of the nurses and she said no, they don't give rotavaccine till d FG gets involved. awww...pele. I know how tiring walking under the sun can be.

tbh, only a few mamas in those health centres know what rota vaccine is. Some don't even check their cards to know what vaccine is admistered. The reply you were given by the nurses is what they keep saying.
i only know of the PHC in somolu/bariga is giving free and it is sponsored by a private org sef.
