koastar: Shattap ya mouth there! If any black person commits a crime they quickly say he's a Nigerian. The other day in the news, some blacks referred to as Nigerians were to be deported from UK only to be discovered at the Nigerian embassy that they were Camerounians, Congolese, Gabonese, Ghanians etc but all media have reported it already to be Nigerians involved in fraud. These same media didn't apologise nor report the true story and people like you will go around saying 5 out of 10 Nigerians are bad. Nonsense!
if only about 1% of Nigerians are that bad and about 60% of SA are criminals and rapists, about 80% of Brazilians, Columbians are involved in drugs, 70% of Russians are mafians or internet fraudstars, what would you say about them? Park well jare!
I was going to address him but good thing you did.You know i'm still reading posts but yet to conclude.....wonder how i missed the news huh
Crime is a big problem in South Africa and it is not only "Nigerians" who are getting affected by it, but by us South Africans too, even more so if i should say so. There is no conspiracy theory out to get only Nigerians as many people are victims of crime everyday. We should rather thank God that nobody got seriously hurt during this robbery. But why do some Nigerians love to hate? I thought it was only South Africans that they hated but i have seen that you hate Ghanaians and Kenyans and so on as well then you blame it on jealousy of being the giant of africa huh. Yes in South Africa you get people who hate Nigerians and foreigners in general as am sure there are some in every country all over the world who may also hate Nigerians and foreigners. There are good and bad Nigerians and some people based their experiences entirely on the bad which is why you will see certain people saying certain things but the same can be said about Nigerians. It seems its okay for you guys to go on and on and spread hatred about other nationalities you dislike but when others do the same you condemn it and get worked up about it but when you guys do it yourself then it is okay. Do unto others as you will want to be done unto you. If you show hatred towards others, do not get upset when hatred is shown towards you.
Now the bolded calms me down. The medias have been largely responsible for most of the incitements and "black labelling".And the comment sections where "the freedom of expression" is grossly abused with hateful comments, stokes the flames of hatred and aggression.Albeit,i do not completely blame some xenophobic individuals here with their tirade of insults and daring..,.......eish dont wanna start

Amelian: We love marriage but not all women are desperate to be married, especially when she lives well , she has a supportive guy, good family ties,, what'else does she need to crave for?... Most single couples are better and happier than married couples... Some girls might be unhappy they are single but not all single girls...
Does being married to a man, make him yours permanently and live happily thereafter ?
Do wives own their husbands?
Do all men want to be owned by their wives?
Then why is divorce rate so high? sad
Hi..as i said i would get back to your post in the bolded part...

1. Infidelity

Cheating seems like the most common reason for divorce, due largely in part to the media. Athletes, singers, politicians, and other “celebrities” are often in the spotlight because of their infidelity; in some cases, this cheating involves multiple people and is usually quite scandalous, garnering worldwide attention and often wrecking their personal and professional lives. But infidelity isn’t just reserved for those in the limelight – it’s a situation that arises in the marriages of normal people, too. Infidelity is different from the other reasons on this list primarily because it’s usually caused by other issues. As a matter of fact, it may occur because of…

2. Communication

Communication is often the glue that holds a marriage together. If two people are in-tune with each other’s feelings, opinions, and values, then it’s a great benefit to their relationship. Generally, this means that they actually have to speak honestly and openly with each other, and although it may seem difficult to do this amidst jobs, children, and other obligations, it’s an important component to any relationship. If two people don’t openly express their feelings or concerns, then there’s no way to work together to help or fix them. Talk about sex. Tell your partner if you feel emotionally or mentally unfulfilled. If you need attention, ask for it. Two people get married because they communicate that they love each other and want to make their love official…so this is a great place to start.

3. Money
of marriages. Money is nice to have, and it’s a great way to show how much you really care, but money (or lack thereof) often tears people apart. Lay-offs, medical bills, children and even basic household bills can be burdensome and can cause stress for couples. Poverty and the struggles that correspond with it can test marriages, but communication and mutual compromise can help a relationship survive amidst difficult financial times.

4. Priorities

With careers, social obligations, and families to care for, it can be hard to find quality time to spend with your spouse, yet the livelihood of your relationship depends on it. By taking time out of your busy lives to spend quality time together, marriage satisfaction can be greatly improved. Don’t hesitate to schedule date nights or plan events with your spouse to make sure they’re not missed.

Although marriage may have its ups and downs, it usually pays off in the long run. Understanding the primary concerns that often arise in marriage is the first step in preventing and overcoming them.

Catch y'all later wink

ekwah: You are such a... I wish I have time to really reply this very silly post....

The importance of the institution of marriage can't be overemphasized. I completely support the promotion of women's rights in a masculist society like Nigeria's, but this very horrid picture of a master-slave relationship that you've painted makes absolutely no sense. Marriage isn't supposed to be a smooth-sail journey in the first place. it is completely the responsibility of the parties involved to set whatever rules that work for themselves. We all claim that we need freedom but seek companionship/love over everything else at the end of the day. Men too have their own pressures so think well and not type such BS next time you want to attack marriage as an institution.

All these girls wey no dey analyze things critically before they jump to conclusions sef... allowing your self to be brainwashed by what you see in western media would be very disastrous. Our society functions differently from theirs...
don't type this nonsense next time please.

1."Marriage hardly benefits women" shocked
2."Kudos to the 2% of Nigerian MEN that still have respect for women and consider their feelings after marriage, sad sad"-Appalled where that came from.
3."Also, after marriage the husband clearly enjoys his life and freedom MORE than the woman"
4."The majority of Nigerian MEN are lazy ASSESS that think that helping their wives at home is an abomination. angry"
5."The worst part is that the children the women is taking care of, the children that she got so stressed for and losses her beauty after birthing are bearing the MAN's name. The children bear his name and not hers"
6."the MAN is very very likely to cheat on his wife and maybe infect her with some STD or another and he will more likely than not, turn her into his slave"
7."I'm sure many women will not get married, who in their right senses will want to marry an overbearing, unhelpful, slave driving no-good lazy Bottom; which majority of MEN are"

debrief08: I agree with with her, I don't think she is refering to all married women but those but those who love to harass single women.
There are some married women who are fond of making singles feel bad and specialise in harrasing them to "go and marry". Really happily married folks know that a good marriage is not rushed.
Also she was in my oppinion speaking to the people who will advice you to stay and rot even in unpleasant marriages, who will never be real on what really goes on and always want to show how marriage defines them.
I tell my friends being single is not a crime or disease, don't pretend, don't out of desperation marry and swallow all misery.
Be real, when you face challenges that overwhelm you say so, if not you will die in silence.
So many of them in church wearing asoebi yet covered in bruises.
Why do you think Nairaland has so much traffic? So many people who pretend to their friends and family in real life find solace here.
A bad broken down marriage is not a thing to be ashmaed of, being single or divorced is not a crime, be honest and open and you won't die prematuredly from heart attack, HIV or beatings.
My sister, where have you been?.I have been following your posts closely on Nairaland and i'm impressed with the maturity displayed in your write ups.Keep it up and endeavour to share some with many of the single babes here please. nuff respect.

if women stigmatise as much as the men like you have admitted, why did your title not mention women?

how is it false? women want what their mates have? it can either be positive or negative. when it's negative then envy and jealousy are born. when it's positive then it's just a healthy competition.

You said "As we speak 112million people in Naija live below $1 a day." That is very incorrect as the source you got your information from had long reviewed it facts. How much is a dollar in Nigeria? Check the facts again bro.
You also said "Over 80 million or half of Nigerias population live in RURAL AREAS/VILLAGE ".
