Atiku2019:A real soldier would immediately know that he is fake. No single rank on his shoulder and no red on his polo. A real colonel would surely have those. If he was trying to pose as a non-commissioned officer, no single rank on his uniform. His ignorance did him in. If he were knowledgeable, he would know that though he looked real to some people, a real security personnel can easily spot that he is fake. |
pweetiedee:I knew when the branch at Wuse market was being built by GT Bank itself (not rented), and it's gated. Not only gated, but is usually closed. |
tonguengineer:Sir he isn't lying. Not all GT Bank branches are ungated. Quite a number of them are gated. Many here in Abuja are not gateless |
GabdelandAgro:Sir, his observation is not accurate. It's true that lots of GT Bank branches don't have gates. But quite enough of them are gated. For example, the one at Wuse Market is gated and is usually closed |
jowhyte:I don't think it's all the GT Bank branches that are ungated. For example, the GT Bank at Wuse Market has gates and is usually closed. Maybe it just happened that you haven't seen the ones with gates. The other branches that do not have gates are branches that allow customers to drive into the compound and park their vehicles. |
ElSherriff:The river that sustains Kainji Dam flows from those countries. If they dam it in order to build their own hydroelectric power plant, there will be a shortage in Kainji. So we need to keep selling to them in order to prevent them from saying that they want to build a dam to generate their own electricity |
maxysmith:You too, receive power in Jesus name! |
maxysmith:The man too isn't a weight lifter |
maxysmith:Why must he be the one to lift you? Is there any crime in it if you also do the lifting ? |
maxysmith:Okay, whereby, you lift up your hubby this way ![]() |
He's got power!

Omofunaab2:Pre-independence regions such as northern region, western region, etc, are no longer in existence. What is presently in existence are the states and I don't think it was Lugard who created the states. The states were created by military fiat of Generals of northern origin. |
Omofunaab2:No, this has nothing to do with Lugard's amalgamation. It's the military fiat state creation by the Gowons, Murtalas, Babangidas, and Abachas. All are northern Generals |
Dreamscometrue:He'll soon come back begging after his eyes have 'opened' |
Here's a picture of U.S. President, Donald Trump, two of the freed Chibok school girls, Joy Bishara and Lydia Pogu, and President Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, at the White House today. This photo was posted on the White House Facebook page as the White House Photo of the Day.

Fellow Nairalanders, it seems internet has generally been slow in this country in the last two days. Yesterday, Seun created a thread where he said that the infrastructure that powers Nairaland has become unusually slow and unstable, which has led to a lot of downtime. However, I observed that other sites too have been slow since yesterday. Google maps now loads slowly, Google street view is also slow, as well as Youtube. Messages I sent via WhatsApp now take time before being sent. I also noticed that LinkedIn has been slow. Though sometimes, the slowness isn't that bad. I don't think the slowness I am experiencing is due to the network I am using, as I have tried almost all the networks. This is the first time I am experiencing slow service on Smile Network which is 4G. I may be wrong in my inference, but it seems to me that the problem is a general internet problem in Nigeria since yesterday, or only in Abuja. Fellow Nairalanders, have you been experiencing unusually slow internet connection since yesterday as I have been experiencing? |
Addicted2Women:Did you read what I wrote before replying or you just did an impetuous reply on steroids? Did I say that the US government can free American citizens convicted of crimes in a foreign land. I only explained that the US tried to secure Otto's release at the beginning but didn't succeed. And you replied by ranting about how the government cannot free a convicted citizen. I hope something isn't wrong somewhere? |
Addicted2Women:If you were talking about Otto Warmbier, America actually tried to secure his release from the beginning. There were quiet behind the scenes moves by the former Obama administration to secure his release. But North Korea was just too stubborn and wouldn't capitulate. Even in the end, it was the action of Rex Tillerson that made DPRK to decide to release him on 'humanitarian grounds.' You can read about how they were later able to secure his release here: http://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/13/politics/otto-warmbier-north-korea-release-tic-toc/index.html I understand what that poster that said the US wouldn't let their citizen stay in Nigerian prison was trying to say. He didn't imply that the US would quarrel with us and put pressure on us to release him. He was talking about deft diplomatic moves and persuasion. Remember Nigerian government is not like the government of DPRK. If someone like Tillerson talks to our officials, I don't see them rejecting his request. But I doubt if there will be high level intervention in this case. |
2packer:No, Iya and Gbum (who is a senior to the present CAS) haven't retired. Chukwu and Nyoko retired last year after an extension, and that was clearly stated in the article |
AhluSunnah:No, I wasn't trying to authenticate or debunk Sahara's credibility. I was just trying to talk about the extension of service time of officers who are due for retirement. |
AhluSunnah:It's true, it really happened and I am aware of it. I personally know most of the officers mentioned. However, it's not illegal, though it's against the armed forces rules of retirement. The service chiefs have the power to effectuate such extensions. Sometimes, some people are asked not to go because the service chief wants to draw from their wealth of experience and wants to govern the affairs of the service with them. The only problem is that things like this blocks the elevation of junior officers who should be occupying the positions, hence, the complaints. |
Great |
MrThisandthat:Are you saying that someone who has no university degree is automatically an illiterate? |
veekid:Acknowledging and commending something good will not kill you, so why find it difficult to do that? |
niqqa:You don't have to. If God loves him, that's enough |
IhateAfonjas:Sir, did you read what he said before commenting? |
awesomely:Hmmm, you are funny. Those "cello taped guns" are dangerous assault rifles. The ones in the photos here are shotguns. Assault rifles and shotguns are not mates. |
Here's a 51-second long footage of US President, Donald Trump swaying to the beat of Saudi Arabia 's Traditional Sword dance.
