Divide and rule. What of the higher grade levels on which negotiations stalled? |
If there is no hidden agenda aimed to slow down the economic gains of a part of the country in favour of the other, as skeptics suspect, then somebody should dare Emefiele to roll out the cashless policy in an equal number of Southern and Northern states. After all, a lot of beneficial Federal policies and programmes supposedly conform to the need to guarantee zonal balancing in line with the Federal Character principle. His current implementation plan is for six states, out of which five come from the South. All the three zones in the South (SW, SE and SS) have been netted, while only one Northern state (and this only in the NW) will be touched. The only Northern state affected is: 1. Kano Meanwhile, the policy will be imposed on five states of the South: 1. Ogun 2. Lagos 3. Abia 4. Anambra 5. Rivers |
Edu3Again:You really mean 5 out of 6 states actually. Five of the six states earmarked for implementation come from the South. The only Northern state for implementation is: 1. Kano Meanwhile, the policy will swing off in five states of the South: 1. Ogun 2. Lagos 3. Abia 4. Anambra 5. Rivers |
Phace:We all are victims and potential victims. OP should please push and let this make front-page so it can attract the necessary attention and action. |
Banks Defy Legislature, Serve Notice Of Cashless Policy Implementation Despite the House of Representatives directive that CBN and banks stop the implementation of the latest cashless policy initiative, some banks appear bent on going on with the move. Polaris Bank, for example, has served notice to its customers. Nigerians see the move as fleecing bank customers by financial institutions with the active connivance of the CBN. The House of Representatives responded to these misgivings by ordering the banks to shelve the plan. But banks, standing to benefit, seem determined to go on with the plan. Now it is a matter of who blinks first and whose words will hold water: the Legislature or the banks. ATTENTION PLEASE...

What the chopper could not achieve, the pen has now achieved! If you know, you know. |
This is wrong on all fronts. It amounts to adding insult to injury. All along, authorities sold the yarn that killings were perpetrated by foreign Fulani herdsmen. Now we are calling these foreign killers to settle among their victims, using resources from their victims. This is double jeopardy. It is invidious. It is criminal. It is unconstitutional. It is illegal. It is sinful. It is evil. This is the Fulanisation agenda that the likes of Obasanjo and Danjuma prophesied about. And all bonafide Nigerians of goodwill must resist it, beginning with the Civil Society Organisations, Self-Determination Groups, Labour and Professional Bodies, the National Assembly and the all the State Houses of Assembly. Like Trump said about America, Nigeria is for Nigerians and Nigeria must remain for Nigerian. |

Why did they not mention the Igando dumpsite in that list? This is a dumpsite that has sacked and forced an amusement centre, Rosellas, into relocation. That dumpsite sits pertly as a huge nuisance to not just the inhabitants but the General Hospital, Igando, all of whom were there long before a group of brigands began to dig up prime land meant for a Lagos State vocational and skills acquisition institution. These unscrupulous elements later sited this illegal dumpsite that has been a nuisance to patients, doctors and health personnel in that area, as well as to the thousands of residents. To worsen matters, that spot on the Liasu-Isheri highway is fast deteriorating into a nightmarish traffic spot. Former Lagos Commissioners of The Environment, Muiz Banire and Tunji Bello, have questions to answer on this perfidy. |
No one is talking about the Pastor. Let us give him credit as the hero, the star, of the day. As he said, Everybody has his past. He pierced beyond the physical and saw through to the evil machinations of the enemies, whoever they are -Yoruba people call them those who hide in darkness to fire arrows into the light. According to Ephesians 6:12- "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." |
How many people know that the Azubuike Owoh that General Muhammadu Buhari executed in 1985 for drug peddling was the younger brother of the Nollywood Actor, Nkem Owoh? The Actor himself said several years later that he and his family would never forgive Muhammadu Buhari for what they saw as the judicial killing of their relative. Arrested at the Ikeja International Airport, their transit point, he was executed with two other accused. The government retroactively sentenced these three Nigerians citizens in December 1984: 1) Bartholomew Azubike Owoh, 26, a former employee of the Nigeria Airways, 2) Lawal Akanni Ojuolape, 30, a spare parts dealer, and 3) Bernard Ogedengbe, a 29-year-old sailor. Despite the pleas that the law under which they were sentenced had not been in place at the time they committed the offence, the Buhari government shunned an international outcry for clemency and retroactively carried out their execution by a firing squad on 10th April 1985 at Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos.

FG should counter-sue. Criminal charges this time. They will find something to charge them for. Let FG lawyers get cracking and start digging. |
The People's Democratic Party, PDP's Governorship Candidate for Lagos in the 2015 and 2019 polls, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has described Alhaji Lateef Jakande as the most productive, credible and selfless Governor the state had ever known. “If anyone would be designated as the Father of Modern Lagos, that title should belong exclusively to Alhaji Late--ef Jakande,” Agbaje said, in a congratulatory message he dispatched on Tuesday for the nonagenarian’s birthday. Agbaje said the old politician left gigantic records of achievements that marked him out as a legendary trailblazer of Nigerian politics and administration. According to him, Jakande was a first-class disciple of the doyen of Nigerian politics, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and deserved to be celebrated by coming generations for his welfarist programmes that produced myriads of people-oriented projects. “Happy 90th Birthday, Sir,” Agbaje greeted, praying that God grant the Second Republic Governor great health and happiness to live out the rest of his days. In Agbaje’s words, “History will record Alhaji Lateef Jakande as a forthright, kind-hearted and selfless politician, who lived and worked for the welfare of the masses. He personified the dream leader.” Describing Jakande as the man who saw tomorrow, the PDP flagbearer recalled that the veteran Journalist conceptualised the country’s first Metro-Line to support an expanding Lagos City, a project unfortunately abrogated by the military. “In just four paltry years, from 1979 to 2019, and without recourse to loans, Jakande established enduring legacies and left a record that subsequent administrations with vaster resources have found impossible to beat,” Agbaje recorded. Reeling out the achievements of Jakande, Agbaje said the Second Republic Governor constructed the current Lagos State Secretariat with a capacity to house all the state’s ministries as well as the Governor’s Office (the Round House) as well as the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex. Other achievements that Agbaje credited Jakande for included: • Establishing low-cost residential housing estates in Ijaiye, Dolphin, Oke-Afa, Ije, Abesan, Iponri, Ipaja, Abule Nla, Epe, Amuwo-Odofin, Anikantamo, Surulere, Iba, Ikorodu, Badagry, Isheri/Olowu, Orisigun, and other places • Founding the Lagos State University (LASU) and the Lagos State College of Education (renamed Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education) • Establishing the Lagos State Television (LTV) and Radio Lagos as the first state-owned broadcast outfits • Running a 24-hour broadcast service on radio and television • Establishing free-health care and erecting General Hospitals in zones throughout the state • Running free education at all levels, scrapping the shift system in schools and raising attendance to an all-time high in government primary and secondary schools • Establishing the first State Traffic Management Authority, called “Road Marshals.” http://www.championnews.com.ng/tag/agbaje-celebrates-jakande-at-90-as-father-of-modern-lagos/ https://thisage.com.ng/agbaje-celebrates-jakande-at-90-as-father-of-modern-lagos/ https://www.lagospostng.com/agbaje-celebrates-jakande-at-90-as-father-of-modern-lagos/

Undoubtedly, the Nigerian polity is overheated today more than ever. Different segments, through fiery utterances and inciting actions, have thrown caution to the wind and virtually threatening to trigger off widespread hostilities. They feel that they can settle things in an all-out war. With Nigeria's 180 million population, with an economy in recession, with our welfarism non-existent and with selfish materialism entrenched, a Civil War will obviously unleash a humanitarian crisis. Nairalander, with the resources available to you now, how long can you (or you and your family) cope if war should break out where you live?

Buhari and Osinbajo ought to resign right away. Worst scenario, ALL the security chiefs should be sacked. Oh, Leah Sharibu! What a pity! I just pray this purported death is false rumour. |
In Kaduna, Christians are being marginalised from politics and positions by APC. The Governor, a Muslim, chose a female Muslim for his Deputy. Now for ministers, two Muslims have been presented by PMB. This is happening in a state with a sizable Christian population, indigenes as well as settlers. |

Xisnin:Point of correction -Obasanjo was not jailed for his role in the June 12 struggle. He was jailed by General Sani Abacha for supposedly being privy to a phantom coup involving Retired General Musa Yar'Adua, his former Number 2 as Military Head of State. |
How would this have sounded? 1. When I met her SHE had no place to stay. SHE was sleeping on a couch at a friend’s house. And I knew. 2. SHE found a place later on, and I helped paying HER rent for months 3. I got HER HER first car ever. 4. HER laptop got damaged and SHE needed it so much at the time so SHE could work on HER things in order to earn something. I gave HER MINE. 5. I covered most costs for our dates for a year. 6. I invested in HER first two businesses together. And opted for HER to run them full time 7. SHE never met MY mom until when SHE brought HER family to meet MINE 8. I celebrated and congratulated HER for any penny SHE made at the time, even when it was as little as $10 9. I supported everything SHE was trying to do to make ends meet. Whether it earned HER money or not. 10. Though SHE IS very stable and all that now, SHE know I DON’T really care about those things. I care about HER solely. SHE knows I’d give HER anything in the world if I had to, coz I HAVE proved it over and over again Selfish, egoistic boastful and irritating, a clear put off. But instead, he praised her in gratitude! The man is a gem, and he got a jewel of inestimable value. Haters, deal with that.

There is no deadline against crime. He can be charged with manslaughter or murder of his wife. The family should file a formal report to the police and get him prosecuted. They should also file a petition with the Senate. If he truly is HIV positive, he is a ticking time-bomb and his recklessness can be dangerous for past and potential partners. |
These are outgoing NNPC MD, Dr. Maikanti Baru's achievements that he wants surpassed: -$25 billion (N9 trillion) contract scandal about which Ibe Kachikwu (Petroleum Minister of State and his predecessor) raised alarm -4 refineries, none of which is working -Petroleum products shortage -Running up a suspect subsidy regime of over N1.4 trillion Nairalanders may add to the list of ignominy. THE NEWS RUNS BELOW.... The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru, has charged his successor designate, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, to exceed the milestones recorded so far by the corporation’s current management. A press release by the corporation’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, stated that Baru, gave the charge over the weekend while receiving a delegation from the Borno State Government led by the state governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum. Dr. Baru expressed optimism that Mallam Kyari, as a thoroughbred product of the NNPC system, would deploy his cognate experience, expertise and exposure to deliver greater achievements. He said that the incoming GMD played critical roles in delivering the various projects that have reformed the corporation within a short period, stressing that Kyari, being part of the processes and vision of the new NNPC, was in a vantage position to perform better. “We came in at a turbulent time when the country was experiencing low production, low staff morale and high rate of pipeline vandalism. However, we worked had as a team and surmounted the challenges and finished strong. I am therefore, glad that one of our staff with professional competence and experience will be taking over from me”, he said. On his part, the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, congratulated Mallam Kyar on his appointment and expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for finding a son of Borno State worthy of the honour. He called on the GMD-designate to discharge his duties to the best of his ability without compromising national interest. The Governor used the opportunity to appreciate the outgoing GMD, Dr. Maikanti Baru for his mentorship and training that prepared their son for this envious position in the nation’s largest oil and gas company. He commended the smooth and unique process of the hand-over, emphasizing that the privilege pointed to the integrity of Dr. Maikanti Baru. One of the basis for your doubt is that you caught an infection from her that she claimed to be a toilet disease. I do not think she lied about that. She may have been infected not by Gonorrhea as you reported but by Staphylococcus, a common form of toilet disease women easily contract from general toilets and that they can pass on to a sexual partner. It does not denote unfaithfulness at all. The girl loves you. She stepped out of line morally by having sex with you outside marriage, but the fact that she kept returning after you offloaded her shows that she has something for you. That is a good foundation for laying a relationship. Forget your negative mindset about Anambra people. Remove her from that environment. Integrate her with your own people, although you must confess that your people are not all angels too. Do not play God. You do not know the future. Take her and your kids. Give them the best life. Good enough, your involvement with her has not been negative, seeing you are making progress in life. That shows some level of spiritual compatibility -if you know what that means. Some people may be physically and socially qualified but turn out to be incompatible liabilities in the spiritual. Finally, it lies on you to do justice. You should not leave her alone to carry the can. Love and respect will grow with time, if you put your mind to it. It is all in your hands. |
If your car has no AC, how best do you ensure continued visibility? |
This should be a NO NO! It is a wrongly-headed and misguided policy. Graduates are not trained for crime prevention, law enforcement and peace keeping. We would be wasting such precious lives in whom have been invested resources and hope. Just because they wear khaki and get minimal exercise in the platoons does not qualify them to face criminals. They will be a target from criminal elements. Government should simply employ more policemen and security ops. |
TruthinAction:Charisma without character.... that is the bane of several men of God who fell in the past. Some suffer from overconfidence. May God deliver His people from such wolves dressed as sheep and from the blind leading the blind |
jesusjnr:Deep and insightful submission, and I completely agree. The parallel is about two pastors who fell from grace to grass morally. The Bible is clear jn 1 Corinthians 10:12 that, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." |
Jimmy Lee Swaggart, born March 15, 1935, is an American Pentecostal evangelist, who started out with the Assemblies of God church before going independent after a chain of illicit sex scandals. Swaggart's TV ministry, which began in 1971, has a viewing audience both in the U.S. and internationally, on 78 channels in 104 other countries, and over the Internet. At its height in the 1980s, his telecast was transmitted to over 3,000 stations and cable systems each week. In 1988, Swaggart was implicated in a sex scandal involving a prostitute that resulted initially in his suspension, and ultimately defrocking, by the Assemblies of God. Three years later Swaggart was implicated in another scandal involving a prostitute. As a result, Swaggart's ministry became non-affiliated, non-denominational and significantly smaller than it was in the ministry's pre-scandal years. He patronised the Travel Inn on Airline Highway in Baton Rouge. A camera with a telephoto lens was placed in the window of the motel's Room 12, and was draped with a black cloth by spies. When Swaggart arrived, he reportedly went into Room 7. Randy Gorman and Garland Bilbo had taken photos of Swaggart outside Room 7 with Debra Murphree, local prostitute. Gorman arrived at the Travel Inn a short while later and asked Swaggart what he was doing there. Investigating Assemblies leaders were shown photos of several men coming in and going out of Room 7 at the Travel Inn Motel in New Orleans. This was done to establish that the room was being used for prostitution. One of the men seen leaving Room 7 was Swaggart. The presbytery leadership of the Assemblies of God decided that Swaggart should be suspended from broadcasting his television program for three months. SWAGGART'S CONFESSION AND DEFROCKING On February 21, 1988, without giving any details regarding his transgressions, Swaggart gave his now-infamous "I have sinned" speech. He spoke tearfully to his family, congregation, TV audience, and finally said "I have sinned against You, my Lord, and I would ask that Your Precious Blood would wash and cleanse every stain until it is in the seas of God's forgetfulness, not to be remembered against me anymore. The Louisiana presbytery of the Assemblies of God initially suspended Swaggart from the ministry for three months. The national presbytery of the Assemblies of God soon extended the suspension to their standard two-year suspension for sexual immorality. His return to the pulpit coincided with the end of a three-month suspension originally ordered by the Assemblies. Believing that Swaggart was not genuinely repentant in submitting to their authority, the hierarchy of the Assemblies of God immediately defrocked him, removing his credentials and ministerial license. Swaggart then became an independent non-denominational Pentecostal minister, establishing Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, based in the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the Sonlife Broadcasting Network (SBN) can be seen in the United States, as well as many other countries across the world. 1991 SCANDAL On October 11, 1991, Swaggart was found in the company of a prostitute for a second time. He was pulled over by a police officer in Indio, California, for driving on the wrong side of the road. With him in the vehicle was a woman named Rosemary Garcia. According to Garcia, Swaggart had stopped to proposition her on the side of the road. She later told reporters, "He asked me for sex. I mean, that's why he stopped me. That's what I do. I'm a prostitute. This time, rather than confessing to his congregation, Swaggart told those at Family Worship Center, "The Lord told me it's flat none of your business." Swaggart's son Donnie then announced to the stunned audience that his father would be temporarily stepping down as head of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries for "a time of healing and counseling.” MODIFIED WITH INFO FROM: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Swaggart ATTENTION- lalasticlala mynd seun fynestboi olawalebabs richiez PLEASE, AS TODAY IS SUNDAY, COULD YOU PLEASE, PUSH THIS TO THE PROMISED LAND
