GreenandGold: Export versions are not compromised, they're just export versions. It does not mean they're not lethal, all the AAMs that were fielded by Iraq had the capability to shoot down a helicopter or a dozen. Their failure to do is was a doctrine issue (Soviet doctrine to be precise), not an equipment issue. they did a good job demolishing Soviet aircraft a couple years before the gulf war |

Radars is different from sams etc, y'all love to over-hype your military too much. Iraqi war losses according to Wikipedia(not.really credible per se) during 2003 and 2009. I sighted over over 5 downed black hawk and their airspace then wasn't even hot compared to the 90's according to the article.

kabe1: Irrespective of your political leanings, the war in Ukraine is clearly the most complex war faced by humans since the end of world war 2.
The amount of firepower the Russians have brought to bear on Ukraine is unprecedented, the amount of support the Ukrainians have received from the west is also unprecedented.
I don't know the number of KA-52s or helicopters the Russians have in service. From the start of the war we've been told the Russians have only 1 weeks worth of missiles left. Open sources can never be trusted for military information, we can only use open sources for estimates (basic).
So the number of helicopters is not known, we can't say how many MI-28s, KA-52 or MI-35M's are in service with the Russians. What we know is, the Russians use the KA-52 helicopters in the most active, SAM infested environments.
The MI-35M has been rarely used for Frontline missions. we know the mi28 has also been used in the same environment due to the fact that at least one has been shot down by Ukrainian SAMs. Also politically I'm as neutral as they come, and couldn't give an ass who will come out on top... All I want is for the war to end because paying R25 a liter for petrol is kak... |

kabe1: The conflict which the Russian military is currently involved in is as intense as it gets. Giving the sorties conducted by the KA-52 in combat operations, definitely the helicopter has cemented itself as the best in the world in my opinion.
There has never been any helicopter in history of warfare that has been involved in such a complex war environment.
Before you start calling Saudi incompetence, you need to also remember the US army also lost a Black Hawk helicopter in Yemen. Is this also down to US military incompetence?
What I've also seen in this conflict is, manufacturer released specifications almost entirely come to nothing when actual combat begins.
A good example is the TB-2 UCAVs in this conflict. I don't know the details of the black hawk that was downed in Yemen but the very famous one in black hawk down(the movie) was certainly downed due to incompetence. As for the KA-52.... Well if it was so good Russia would have bought more of it.... Instead they order more mi28s and Mi35s.... And mi28s I believe have also been deployed to Ukraine with fewer losses |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by jl115: 11:26am On Jun 08, 2022 |
kabe1: Giving the environment the helicopter is operating in. SAM systems faced, and the quality of the adversary faced.
Also considering the Russians are fighting against the entire NATO infrastructure: intelligence, satellites, communications, military equipment, counter-battery systems, electronic warfare systems
These are my parameters.
Saudi Arabia has lost 10 Apache helicopters in Yemen operating against militants. One thing you haven factored in is competency....something the Saudies severely lack. imo the Ka52 is not even the best AH in Russia, that would be the Mi28 -, simpler, less complex(more reliable) , better protected, better service ceiling, better climb , and considering they have more or less the same combat suites its a no brainer. |

Since the start of the Russian invasion, 3 months ago, 10 KA-52 Alligator Attack Helicopters have been destroyed in Ukraine. Considering the intensity of which they have been used in this conflict, including areas of employment and aircraft availability. who considered it the best in the world?? |

Shma: You spend $435B in 3 good f*ckin years. Kenya does 3.3 trillion - $29B in a single year - with her paltry non-mineral economy. Can you see the difference?
Divide your data by 3... And also, drop the link. I want to show you something
And I admit that your government spends more than Kenya --- but when it come to key infrastructure... We're just the same bro. Fine divide it by 3 still doesn't change the fact that SA is spending 6 times more than Kenya.... Including infrastructure... And you have yet to prove we spend the same on infrastructure.... Just our energy and transport infrastructure spending is $15billion... How is the the same as $3.2billion |

Shma: In the education sector: We spend $2B on infrastructure and $2.4B on free education.
South Africa spends R20B on education infrastructure... That is approximately $1.2B.
So don't even go there. my bru just our educational budget almost as much as your entire budget...... You really shouldn't have gone there Now show me where you are spending $2 billion yearly on school infrastructure(which is not included in your infrastructure budget) ... I'll wait |

Shma: Key infrastructure are road, ICT, and energy.
We've already established that you do $3.8B and Kenya is not far away, with $3.2B.
If we add education then everything changes what is your total infrastructure budget.... Easy question Also just our energy budget is R52 billion incase you forgot |

And has "apples for apples" lost its meaning?
You're making me laugh for no reason Obviously it's you that can't read.... It clearly states that R52 billion is spent on energy infrastructure R40 billion spent on water and sanitation infrastructure R105 billion on transport infrastructure R12 billion on economic services infrastructure R12 billion on health care infrastructure R20 billion on educational infrastructure R13 billion on human settlement(housing) R10 billion on other social service infrastructure R11 billion on administrative infrastructure What is so difficult to understand about that chart? |

State‐owned companies continue to be the largest contributor to capital investment, spending a projected R251. 7 billion over the next three years
Don't be silly...
SA spent $3.8B On energy, road infrastructure, and ICT. Kenya spent $3.2B on energy, road infrastructure, and ICT. how the fvck did you even come to this conclusion. What is R52 billion plus R105 billion?? That already is $10 billion alone just for transport and energy not even itc |

Politics › Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by jl115: 7:24am On Jun 06, 2022 |
rvp2018: Compare apples with apple and Oranges with Oranges. Public infrastructure - your budget is 4 times kenya - though you spend 65 percent on wages and 30 percent on recurrent expenditure. That leaves you only with 5 percent - for infrastructure. So if you budget is 130b (last I checked) That mean you're spending about 7B dollars on development. OK let's compare apples with apples then shall we. So the total budget for infrastructure over 3 years was 815 billion.....for 2021/22 it is R276 billion(see pic) So let us compare shall we- ksh368billion vs R37billion which equals $3.2billion vs $18 billion Gauteng alone easily equates for 15-20% of infrastructure spending in the country... So its easy to assume that Gauteng spend the same if not more on infrastructure than the entire Kenya
