You're twisting and turning tying yourself in a knot. South Africa nominal GDP is stuck and kenya will need 15yrs max to get her.
Nope you inability to read and comprehend is what is doing that!

I asked you specifically what was South Africa's GDP ppp in 2010 and you said it was 416 billion.........that has nothing to do with comparisons but your inability to either read properly or understand the difference between PPP and nominal

370B in 2010 and 416B in 2011. You're now back 10yrs. And expect the old same middle class rut. Do not be so delusional - you can do better than a west african by realizing what is holding your economy is not going to be easily resolved. Zuma been gone for 4yrs now.
GDP PPP do you know what that is?

These new trains coming to Nigeria for the Lagos high speed rail Network,
trains built for US of A in 2012
But massive corruption by the Us state govt grounded the trains and they were never used.
Talgo 8series with Speed of 75mph 200-250km
600 sits
2 have been bought.
The train though high speed is ugly embarassed

Lagos is developing well, slowly but surely
75 mph is barely 120kmph my bru

What is retarded is that South Africa GDP was 410B in 2010 - and you're causing chaos online to be back to 410.
You're in middle class rut.
There is no where you're going in next decade.
Unless you have fixed issues that held you back last decade.
what was our GDP ppp in 2010 wink

In those 7yrs - Kenya GDP has grown from 60B to 110B.
RSA GDP is stuck at 350B.
In 2014 - Kenya GDP was 9 times less.
Now it three times less.
Now I know you have very bad education
But surely if you use simple projection - the next 15yrs - Kenya GDP could rise to 350B
And South Africa will remain stuck at 330B.

Two important concepts you need to grasp
1) Middle Income/class trap in South Africa.
2) Leapfrogging happening in Kenya. Kenya is nearly nailing all the key ingredients for take off. Economic growth is not linear..most of the time it assume hockey stick shape......then it plateaus..like South Africa and even crash.

There are pre-conditions that a country need to meet - before it get lift off ground. It's like flying a plane....you stay on the running away until you're overcome driff and you vroom! like Uganda finance minister once exclaimed

This what happened in South Asian tigers. This is how China has taken off. Veitnam is happening as we speak. Kenya could be next.
you've made this same ret@rded statement over and over firstly SAs gdp nominal is $410 billion after its rebase.....

Also where is Kenya?

The wait wont be long. I gave you timelines for Kenya is 2035 or about. For Nairobi and Joburg - before 2030 - actually 5yrs from now - if we build 500K units in housing sector as proposed - and fix our housing deficit. Otherwise infrastructure deficit is closing very fast.
I've been on Nairaland since 2014......thats 8 years.... I will bet my house that in 2030 you'll give me the exact same post but the time lines will just be different let's say 2040 and 2035 .....ive seen it all before mate wink

As I said, once Kenya has caught Joburg... Then will talk about gauteng, and then after that maybe South Africa cool but at that time I'll already be in my 80s

GeneralDae:
To be honest, there is no shame in admitting that from the 17th century, the whites became more advanced societies than our African Kingdoms. Our various tribes and Kingdoms were sophisticated in their own ways (especially in the Arts) but the western world progressed in the sciences and with it, looted/conquered/colonised the world as we know it.
With South Africa, the British and the Dutch weren't interested in leaving. They already had banks and investments dating from the 19th century. Probably they loved the weather of Southern Africa and the South African gold.
Now, the blacks in South Africa from 1994 have been doing well and probably done more but there was already a foundation for progress. Most of Africa went straight into civil wars and several military coups after their so called independence.
South Africa has done well though and we must not overplay the racism card, but still it is true that South Africa has always been ahead.
Nigeria and the other African countries are still trying to adjust to democracy in the modern world or leadership by servitude. We were rather used to our Kingdoms, Monarchs, Dictators, and Empires. Not just blacks though but most societies. I believe Africa would rise again, but we have to go back to our roots and grow at our own pace.
fantastic write up wink my bru!!

Hey man, I was only saying South African cities were already developed even 1930s
Bellow are pics of some selected SA cities 19s
1- Durban Sa1940s
2- Johannesburg 1930s
3- Cape town 1930s
Do me a favour.... Compare these cities in 1980s/90s with them now wink..... You realise more skyscrapers, roads, Sewage systems, water supply systems and houses have been built since 94 than the entire history of the NP government

No, you're mistaking his words for your thoughts.
And again, No, whites are neither superior nor better than blacks, they're just good at hiding their weaknesses.

Yes, whites, anglodutch, boers, Zionists generally non africans developed SA, with the mind that they've found a barren, wild, vast and mineral rich land. And probably thought of annihilating the indigens like American settlers did to the red Indians in the present day US of A.
But blacks down there were too many to get rid of in one swoop, so their 'conquest' plot failed. Good reason they now seek asylum in their native lands and Australia grin
Well he said Nigeria was inferior to SA in terms of development due to white people developing SA vs Black people developing Nigeria.........that is what he said in black and white

Mad man, I hope you are not referring the same tiny Mombasa I know in and out, mazze, I swear to God Kaduna and Kano are far far more developed than Mombasa comparing Nairobi with Abuja is like comparing Kenyatta with Bill Gate , u need to know that development is not about developing just one section of a state/county but the whole of the states/counties at the same time, and this what what most Kenya's cities lacks.
Old Mombasa CBD and just very few residential areas can only be tagged "averagely developed" according to Nigeria standard or even world standard.
You also need to know that Nigerians cities development spreads across all areas and not just at around the CBDs , take Kaduna for instance, the Kaduna town (capital of Kaduna),Zaria(50k from Kaduna) and Kafancha( 200km+ from Kaduna) are all far more developed than Mombasa are madly developing, 35,23,23 roads are currently been dualizalised in kaduna , Zaria, and Kafancha respectively and massive projects will be commissioned by the president on 20th this month , such styles of development applies to most states in Nigeria.
Nigeria is indeed the most developed Africa Nation outside the already white developed SA.(cape Town, joburg, Durban..)
So SA is better than Nigeria because of white people? in other words you just said white people are better than black people?? You have some serious low self esteem my bru wink

what ranking is this?
Shma:
This is what we should be talking about in this centuary.
Kenya increased one spot this year to rank 61st globally, 1st in Eastern Africa, and 2nd in Africa. The city of Nairobi decreased 20 spots to 136th globally, but still ranks 1st in Eastern Africa and 2nd in Africa. Nairobi also ranks in the top 100 globally for Foodtech, Transportation Technology, and Energy & Environment Technology. Contributing to the improvement in Kenya's ranking for 2021, Mombasa is new to the rankings as the 2nd city in Kenya at 756th.

Retail sales are utter nonsense.

By design it is ready to be fixed and sent back.
By design - meaning people have modeled the damage scenarios and designed it for re use.. so it is not open to argument. There are many US crash center salvaged second hand vehicles on Nigerian roads. They were designed to survive.

This one is still bullet proof and partially RPG proof. It won't survive a second IED blast due to weak heat affected zones HAZ from the first blast.
You can still use it in the same theatre as middle position vehicle in a convoy
I know how they are designed mate wink this particular vehicle will not be economically feasible to be fixed wink besides big foots are relatively cheap and Nigeria has several of them..... No sane person with half economic or accounting background would consider it wise to repair a vehicle that has been damaged to this extent.... Its not a major loss!! No need spending money on it when you have several to go around

SAA doesn't have any debt anymore.... Its basically been liquidated.....also it let go of 5000 staff....... Now don't worry about SAA, Mr Novak was able to open a new airline in the middle of covid and it is profitable, he will do the same for SAA..... On the other hand worry about KQ which has been making a loss ever since 2013
