I don’t even know of the combination. I just thought of the possibility.

safarigirl:
I made that post before I knew of the combination.

Some of them na their papa be Dutch etc. Na crime say their Nigerian mama marry white man?
safarigirl:
I have seen Hoogewerf and he's fine, but the name is still off

The foreign last names Nigeria born and bred bear are English names, while I don't care much for slave names, at least the slave names are familiar, perhaps, if we had Dutch colonizers, I would find English-named players odd.

Adekanye was though angry

safarigirl:
Slight modification, but still, nothing to suggest Tomori was EVER willing and ready

Hahahahahaha
Which kind talk be that?

Earthquake1:
Don't think the English FA did not get Eze's permission before inviting him for the U20s
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:11pm On Oct 08, 2019
My point is England did not get sentimental and say “Eze’s heart is not with us”
komekn:
Because after doing introduction , he was not invited to the wedding party, "introduction no be marriage"

So if you like do introduction, no pay dowry no do wedding another man go collect the prize
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:46pm On Oct 08, 2019
I didn’t join this discussion from the beginning so I may be lost. But let’s not be too sentimental. Eze was called up to a get together by Rohr and he honored it. Why did England still invite him after then?

Earthquake1:
He is not accepting because Nigeria refused to call him up, he's accepting because he wants to play for England
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:44pm On Oct 08, 2019
Calling up a player and talking to get them to switch allegiance are two different things.

Any player that is called up at youth level and does not commit to Nigeria should be left to explore his other options.

Earthquake1:
Why didn't Abraham and Tomori honor our call up?

Nonsense, Ebere Eze knows which country he wants to play for, he's not a robot or a kid
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:27pm On Oct 08, 2019
The problem is even if we stop approaching foreign groomed players or restrict SE to only players that came from the home front it’s not gonna guarantee that we will do the right thing.

So the real question is what is the real problem?

do4luv14:
we are here,
this our silly approach of waiting for other country to develop them through their youth system is whats costing us some quality players
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:48pm On Oct 07, 2019
then why are you here?

realpoacher:
I dont even understand our purpose on this thread. Or our usefulness.

Otabor this, Ebere Eze that.

Our voices, our noise here is completely and totally irrelevant in grand scheme of things.

We have been discussing here every day about moving nigeria's football forward yet nff will wake up and do complete opposite.

Isnt it obvious here that our rant equals to nothing?

Please take your Otabor rankings to nff handle and spear me intellectual reads here.

Haba

Even me i am hurt concerning his callup but obviously my feelings are inconsequential in this matter. So i keep shut

Abeg make everybody face front
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:20pm On Oct 07, 2019
Thank you
tbaba1234:
This Otabor invite is one of the worst, i have seen in a while.

Totally unjustified.

Rohr has to take the blame.

It gives us a glimpse into how Nigerian football is run.

Pure nonsense.. i am so irritated
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:22am On Oct 07, 2019
The funniest excuses:
"he was in the stand by list", "he won't even get to play" etc.
So why was he in the standby list in the first place, couldn't someone else have been there?
and if he won't get to play why even replace Kalu with any player in the first place? grin
if na just formality then put a worthy player there anyway or better yet put home based player name grin
andrew444:
As if this otabor will be even able to play for other country, i can bet that if this guy is eligible to play for bulgaria he wont make their national team
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:23am On Oct 07, 2019
Maybe Rohr is making a case for players who pledge for Nigeria and turned down the other country outright. grin
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:20am On Oct 07, 2019
U no go talk so if na Keshi.
Truidstar:
I am not the NFF nor am I Rohr. If we were playing 2 friendlies I would understand what all the fuss is about. There is time for every player to get a chance to prove himself. We can only field eleven at a time. The great Westerhof between 1990-1994 used and tried over 200 players before we had our best 23.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:46am On Oct 07, 2019
Your next best choice should be on standby or at least player who ply their trade close to the friendly country venue. (that I can understand)
Truidstar:
The Otabor fella, was on the standby list that was unreleased by the NFF. I don't understand what all the hue and cry is all about. Like I stated before, Rohr will start with his best team and make few substitutions against Brazil, especially when the game is going well for us. Some folks preferred players would not even lace their boots on that day.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:34am On Oct 07, 2019
I’m not gonna sugarcoat things as usual. There is no basis for this invitation. Egunje must be involved
charlesemeka85:
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that CSKA Sofia dazzler Viv Solomon-Otabor has been handed a late call-up to the Super Eagles squad for their friendly against Brazil.

The former Birmingham City Young Player of the Year trained with the Dream Team before the 2016 Olympic Games, and this is the first time in his career he has been summoned to the senior national team.

Solomon-Otabor was available at short notice because he was already placed on a standby list not made public by the Nigeria Football Federation when the roster for the friendly against the South Americans was announced last month.

Gernot Rohr has invited him as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu.

Kalu is nursing a slight injury and was not in the matchday 18 when Bordeaux played Toulouse on Saturday.

Born in London 23 years ago, Solomon-Otabor has pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria over his country of birth, England.

This season, the skillful winger has appeared in seven efbet Liga matches for CSKA Sofia and was involved in the Europa League third round qualifier against Zorya Luhansk.

pikin no go die.. it's just the comfort they always felt.. so it's fear. the naturally stubborn ones find their passion quickly and stick to it no matter what.. but of course that also has it's down sides. There are those who end up in the wrong path entirely

Yes both parents even for the biracial ones. I happen to have a nephew who is talented in several sports. His mom who is Russian wants him to experience his Nigerian heritage so badly. I’ve promised her I will take him to Nigeria. His father (my bro) doesn’t give a damn about Nigeria one bit. To make matters worse, my nephew who is 9 is also American, and can speak several languages.
komekn:
Were you are born can influence you to a great degree, but the BIGGEST INFLUENCE possible is your parents if they they play their role correctly.

I was born in the UK and l went to Nigeria for the first time when l was 11. Before l became too Oyibo according to my Father and off to boarding school in Warri I was despatched.

I am not Ibo, but l speak Ibo l understand and speak my language as well. I have a workable understanding of Yoruba very basic though.

My cultural identity is entirely Nigerian but l can be multi faceted. When I'm with oyibo you would think i am a lost son. Often l hear Nigerian talking about me thinkibg l dont understand what they are saying sometimes derogatory. That's very amusing when l then speak Ibo or Yoruba to them.

When l reach Warri you may think that na complete area I be.

So am l still an Abroadianhuh

There are Nigerians who were born and bred in Nigeria predominantly the women. Some from small towns and villages.

On arrival they become more oyibo than the Oyibos denying all things Nigerian within a few weeks in the UK. Are they not Nigerian born and bredhuh

Something to think about its not so simplistic.

So its over for okereke because he is on the bench abi?

So 4 goals in 8 games is bad?

When I said we should not celebrate Okereke too early people were giving me lessons on Dennis as a winger vs attacker

andrew444:
Dennis starts as striker, okereke on the bench

So mbaye diagne cannot still starts for club brugge?

Someone thats supposed to be in the epl now

We have a collective voice here. And each person’s opinion is worth 2 cents. Nothing more. Those who watched the game should come here and say what happened. People have their favorites and may ignore, but don’t castigate them when your membership here is at the same level as theirs. We are talking as if there is some highly esteemed class here whose voice matter more. This is not true. This is a faceless thread, your voice counts as much as mine.

darkelf:
Don't mind them.

It just shows the double standards here.

If it was simon Moses or Etebo now, we would have been hearing "carpenter", " mechanic", "fisherman".

Talk about supposed football watchers having double mouths
