But clubs make up the league. So what are u talking about?

somehow:
Leagues don't groom players oga. leagues make use of professional players.

Grooming is done by clubs with academies and private academies.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:35am On Sep 30, 2019
I never used the word outstanding to start with. But let’s assume I did.

How do u get to rate the league based on player quality? How can raw talent be attributed to the league? How has the NPFL helped to groom players?

cheesy
somehow:
You used the word first or you forgot what you typed?

Yes not in top 10 based on organization but not in player quality!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:18am On Sep 30, 2019
are we talking highlights now? isn't the season still young? So we have switched now from not playing for Besiktas or Gala to highlights. The dude will come good this season, then what would you say next? I believe Zuby will do well. He is getting game time and he is starting to make impact statistically.

Godsfavour78:
you just fall hand even the fat onazi get highlights for turkey pass zomby abi zooby.

As a winger he has lots of competition. But there is nothing wrong with wanting to play for your fatherland.

andrew444:
A good thing for Adekanye

I hope he want to play for naija sha
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:04pm On Sep 29, 2019
Talking about outstanding, that may be too much to ask for. Just tell me your definition of average and we can make the word substitution.

That said, if I called the Armenian league or the Latvian league whack leagues, will you term that degrading?
The NPFL not making the top 10 in Africa (according to you) says it all. Then never use that word degrading again.

Are all the players in the Armenian league bad? Are all the players in the Singaporean league bad? Think about all the worse leagues, are all players there bad? I've answered your questions with those question.

You can't blame the players for the environment they play in. But at the same time they are products of their environment.
somehow:
Yes the league is struggling and not in the best 10 in Africa IMO
Few questions for you:

Are you saying those playing in the league are all bad players?

How many players actually become outstanding abroad in 5 years all over the world?

Use UK as a yardstick

Are the human resource the problem or the league policy makers?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:25pm On Sep 29, 2019
Player transfers will always happen it doesn't say much about the quality of a league unless these players go abroad and start turning heads. The question is how many of these players are really making an impact abroad INSTANTLY (or even after say 5 years). I remember you responding to one of my posts and claiming the NPFL attracts foreign players. There is hardly any league without foreign players. Your yardstick for measuring the quality of the NPFL is faulty. NPFL clubs are doing badly continentally year after year. That says a lot. UEFA coefficient ranking, for example ranks leagues according to the impact domestic clubs in European competitions. Following the same measurement how would you rank the NPFL to other African leagues?

somehow:
To those who see nothing good in the Nigerian league.

Nwakali is no exception. But the point is he made his presence count
charlesemeka85:
And u fail to agree that club performances attracts invite from national team coaches?

If not for paddy paddy runs u think Nwakali will get a sniff of the u23 team if club performance is considered?

Nice warm up for some of our U23s lol. Now let’s look to fortify the team.

tbaba1234:
WAFU team starting lineup

Togo 1 Nigeria 0

Please expatiate. Why is the blame on Pinnick?

BascoVanVeli:
Yes insult the players but exonerate that ediot u call a messiah. Pinnick has destroyed our league only someone who cannot reason will think different
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:29pm On Sep 29, 2019
It’s not like many Nigerians will feel the impact. grin
BascoVanVeli:
How about we shutdown the whole league?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:28pm On Sep 29, 2019
Agreed. Let’s not be blinded by club performances alone. Same reason why I said Kelechi Nwakali has done well for the u23s
Ndidi has been pretty good with SE but not as good as he has shown for club. This could be due to other reasons like how the team is set up etc.

komekn:
For me that's the key issue.

Unless players are given opportunity how will we know that they are better or as good as the players already selected.

Another issue is that you may indeed be doing pretty good in your local club and league it may not necessarily transfer with same impact to the national team the SE.

Considering how good Vardy is with his blistering pace albeit very limited technical ability as well as skill. He has not been able to have the same impact in the 3 Lions.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:06pm On Sep 29, 2019
What would u say about the Argentina friendly then? I won’t be surprised if we we went back to our old ways. Lol.
tbaba1234:
Two key differences in the Ukraine attacking performance and the nations cup.

1. Movement : There was constant movement in our transition play. Iwobi, Osimhen, Kalu and Samu were constantly moving. In the nations cup, Ighalo stays static and Musa hugs his wing.So that dynamism was lacking going forward.

2. The late run into the box from midfield: Aribo got into the box several times. The first goal against Ukraine would not have scored at the nations cup because there were usually less bodies in the box when we are attacking. Ighalo looked isolated in the box sometimes.

I remember Senegal friendly. wink was it?
ChrisKels:
I have never seen u this truthful and concise. Ndidi hasn't had a single top class game in the eagles shirt since his debut. He cuts a different figure from what we see in the East Midlands, he comes here with a high shoulder, and hardly plays to instructions, hence exposing the backline he ought to be shielding. Yes Etebo is a carpenter, but I will select him ahead of Ndidi. Ndidi needs a real competition and should not be a sure starter, he has to earn it.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:53am On Sep 29, 2019
grin
He was average at best. Wasn’t invited thereafter, and nobody complained.

Clementoke:
Esiti did well against Zambia at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium. He helped quenched the attacking moves of the chipolopolo in the WCQ then.
My Opinion.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:52am On Sep 29, 2019
For the Nigerian U23 team. I’m not talking about if he deserved to be invited. But he’s done pretty well in National colors for the U23.

komekn:
U23 is at best indicative of quality if you are 21 and you are still talking about youth football your career is on hold.

U 21 players these days are playing first team football if not at thier parent club then on loan.

Nwakali is constantly on the radar of so many fans here. There is no basis beyond old youthful glories.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:48am On Sep 29, 2019
Yes competition should be encouraged always. But some players are almost always guaranteed to start.

komekn:
I think you are being political correct and don't want to get tagged a HATER.

Nobody should be untouchable in the SE all positions should be up for grabs and competition that's how you improve IMO
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:44am On Sep 29, 2019
i agree with you to some extent.
BascoVanVeli:
Ndidi should not be a sure starter. The only thing meaningful he has done lately was giving away the silly free kick that did us in AFCON. He has not translated his Leicester form to the SE as of yet.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:18am On Sep 29, 2019
No doubt Esiti has lots of minutes under his belt in Europe. But he has never shown for SE. Two caps now, and we are still waiting for him to convince. But like I said earlier, we have several players who got their chance again and again especially in the DM role. So no double standards here from Rohr. Zuby's time will come.

andrew444:
Ask anybody here, i am ndidi number 1 fan here, i call him world class, so if you thinking i am trying to say others can do what ndidi is doing then you are getting me wrong, as far as i am concerned only ngolo kante is better than him in the EPL

You have a point thou, but you know rohr wont start aribo ahead of etebo sha , i have always supported zuby but i prefered esiti ahead of him but esiti was somehow in the last game, but i wont judge by that thou
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:59am On Sep 29, 2019
Aribo surprised Rohr.. But that only happened because of Ndidi's absence. Aribo won't have started.

andrew444:
Lol and you think etebo will not start, so you replace etebo with aribo?

Hope you know who is the coach? so keep on dreaming
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:52am On Sep 29, 2019
Nwakali hasn't done badly with the U23s. However, he is not an SE material yet.

charlesemeka85:
cheesy no be so dem take hype kelechi nwakali?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:50am On Sep 29, 2019
Etebo and Zuby, how similar?
You are not going to go far in tournaments without a good bench.

balorx:
aribo is the best bet.... zuby doesn't bring anything special to the team and I don't see him benching etebo cos of their similar style of play
Ndidi-aribo-iwobi

i never see that post oh.. make I see am make I laugh too grin
jihday:
personally I'm not bashing him, I don't have anything against him but for someone to say he's better than Ndidi or he's some sort of Zidane-Modric-Kante in one body that's what I don't understand
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:22am On Sep 29, 2019
Let me add the likes of Onazi, Shehu and a host of others have played for Turkish sides that are not Gala or Besiktas and have been supported here. I don't see why Zuby is getting a lot of bashing.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:20am On Sep 29, 2019
Sentiments aside. Let's talk about complementary roles. Who compliments Ndidi better in midfield? We can count on Ndidi any day and time in terms of tackles and interceptions. Aribo has brought fluidity in the midfield and smooth transition to attack from what we have seen so far. So let's always talk about what new players can add to the team instead of pitching a player against the other. Can Zuby bring something new to the table? What kind of player do we need when Ndidi is not available? What combinations will work best and in what situations? Etebo has been more of the ball holder for us. I think we can be more progressive here if we talk more about the technical aspect of players, the chemistry, and how that can change the dynamics of our play.

balorx:
Ndidi that doesn't have any rival in leceister...Ndidi turn schmeichel that being loaned out Is better than being a back up to them. Ndidi that is being compared to kante and don't forget that he is 100 percent Nigerian and started here so he wasn't hyped too much
pls don't compare ndidi with zuby ...such a disrespect to ndidi
ndidi is untouchable in both leceister and Nigeria
etebo is the one likely to have way for ndidi

let zuby start bossing everyone in turkey before we can accept that he is a good backup to ndidi

Chuks matter no be today. Game after game, I’m not surprised. Just a little bit of less selfish play in SE colors and lots of damages will be done upfront to any defense.

I see nothing wrong in Shehu's invitation.
And as for Balogun he is down injured.

The new call-ups/recall deserve their invitations.

My only disappointment for now is not still seeing Ebere Eze on the list.
