he have tried even though he has shortcomings, that shows he is human. You see, I don't like blaming players or coaches simply because playing and coaching ain't easy as we see it or better still watch it on TV. majority of guys here blaming Rohr,if given the SE WC squad can't qualify from a group comprising crown FC ,Sunshine stars and Remo stars.
The only option now is for NFF to retire Salisu Yusuf and bring in Unknown but proven tactically astute coach maybe from our league. This will complement and strengthen Rohr's weakness.

You are fond of supporting the team when there ain't nothing at stake but the moment we are going for a tounament, you switch to negative rhetoric. Nah all Oliseh wanted was for NFF to act professionally.
I'd be pissed off too if as a coach, I'm still witnessing the same issues I did as a player.
Some people just can't thrive in our chaotic system. I can't blame them...

Attitude Ke. Cope with feeding players with thousands of dollars from his pocket. Men that one is not bad attitude but lack of money or means to source for funds to maintain the team. Keep in mind he was not being paid during that period.

Not really. Oliseh could not cope with the sabotage. He did not understand how bad it was from the outside looking in. I remember when Oliseh made the rant video, Peterside Idah got asked why Oliseh complaining was being frowned upon by the NFF. Peterside replied that because the treatment was normal and all other Nigerians coaches deal with the poor treatment handed to them.

You can imagine Oliseh going for the CHAN camp and the players did not have food to eat. Oliseh was feeding the players from his pocket. If my memory serves me right, Oliseh spent thousands of dollars feeding the player. When Peterside arrived the camp, the first thing Oliseh did was to ask for money.

So I doubt attitude led Oliseh out but our mentality of sabotaging ourselves from doing well.

Zidane had little qualifications as a first team coach before breaking champions league records. Same with Pep Guardiola.

By the way, I am one of those who believes in the universality of football coaching methods.
That was why Amunike could impress with Tanzania. We just downplay our coaches and do not give them the support to succeed. More like sabotaging them and then say they are not good

I will agree that he's the best for the Super Eagles simply because of the support and the respect he receives from the NFF. Would the NFF accord similar treatment to an indigenous coach? Not a chance!

Yes, some ICs have been accused of egunje and the likes but did we bother to ask ourselves why they resort to such underhanded means? Isn't that simply because they are trying to survive?? The NFF is in habit of owing ICs 6 months or more salary. So how do you expect these men to feed their families I would like for the NFF to pay our ICs coaches their salaries on time (as they do with these foreign coaches) and give them freehand to select players, then let's see if our local coaches are not good enough.

What Rohr needs is a very good assistant. I wish we had drafted Amunike to his coaching staff. Get a great assistant and leave the tactical side of the game to them.
That's how Fergie always moved with time till he decided to retire. Carlos Quieroz was responsible for the tactical side i.e training and all while Fergie handled the management side.
Get Rohr a good assistant and I wouldn't mind him staying till 2022 and beyond sef

I saw Balogun putting in flying tackles yesterday and I wondered when last Super Eagles played with such passion and commitment

That's when I see people advocating for Rohr's sack I just hiss and pass

We won today and I am glad.

Kudos to the defence for keeping things tight at their own end.

Kudos also to Onuachu for the early goal. It really unsettled the Egyptians Gameplan.

Although I wish we won by a larger margin but a win is a win.

Onuachu must not become complacent. Nacho may just awake from his slumber.

Shehu need s to be tried in the DMF position but I fear for his passing. One bad pass and it could spell doom for us.

Most African countries have only one standard stadium they use for their national team and they maintain them well... I dunno why the NFF can't stick to one stadium for major super eagles games...From Lagos to Abuja to Calabar to Uyo and now Asaba with unnecessary stop by in Kaduna and Kano... its affecting the team...
My problem with that Asaba stadium isn't exactly the pitch size but the state of the grass... I'm confused as to why it has remained that way....what specie of grass is it that they can't trim it low?

Yes. Next Olympics is for players born not before 1st January 1997. So any player born any time in 1997 or after is elligible.

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State

Tonobok Okowa, the Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, says the state will be delighted to continuously have the Super Eagles play their matches in Asaba.

Okowa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Asaba that the team’s handlers seemed comfortable with the Delta capital city’s hosting capabilities and facilities.

“The state government has not influenced it in any way.

“The choice of Asaba by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) may be out of the fact that the state has successfully hosted other international matches and that the facilities are good.

“The state government has not really done any form of pushing to continue to host the matches in Asaba, but if the state has the option, it will grab it.

“We want to keep bringing them (the Eagles) back because we want to always put the stadium into use and our people love to have them here,’’ he said.

The Delta sports official pointed out that Asaba was well situated and bordered by states such as Edo, Anambra and several others.

“I guess the NFF loves what we have here and the first time we ever hosted an event for them was the Aiteo Cup.

“I am sure they (NFF) loved the turnout of people and the crowd was overwhelming. This may be why they are coming back.

“The city’s location is strategic and I know that they will always want to use this place and we will be obliged to be giving it to them at all times,” he said.

Okowa assured that every arrangement to successfully host the three international matches slated for Friday and next week at the Keshi Stadium had been concluded.

He added that they expected to have a surge of spectators.

“Here, we are talking about two international matches between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Seychelles coming up on Friday, the Super Eagles’ friendly with Egypt and the Nigeria Under-23 team’s fixture against Libya next week.

“We want people to come out and cheer them, but we guess we will have a surge. However, we have put mechanism in place to control the crowd and the traffic will be put under check throughout the period of the match.

“We have a good security architecture in place to manage the situation,” he said.

Standard pitches aren't of the same size but have a minimum measurement to be rated as a standard pitch, for example Stamford Bridge's pitch and that of Estadio Camp Nou aren't of the same size or measurement
