I agree ighalo has really played well over the last three games, but to say he wasn't ever poor for us or laying the blames for his previous abysmal showings solely on lack of service is over the top and a fat lie. In the previous matches, Ighalo has had several chances that he missed either due to poor finishing, poor positioning, poor techniques that he should have done better.

$9.5m FIFA grant: Three NFF officials in court over alleged misappropriation

Three officials of Nigeria Football Federation were on Thursday arraigned in a Federal Capital Territory High Court at Maitama, accused of misappropriating $9.5 million and N1.3 million.

The defendants are Christopher Andekin, NFF Director of Administration and Finance, Reagan Zaka, Cashier and Fadanari Mamza, Head, Finance and Account Department.

They were dragged to the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on five counts bordering on criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and misappropriation.

The prosecutor, Mr Steve Odiase, told the court that the three defendants conspired between January 8 and January 26, 2015, to commit the offences, contrary to Section 97 of Penal Code.

Odiase alleged that Andekin was entrusted with money meant for the development of football in Nigeria, a grant from the Federation of International Football Association.

He said that Andekin, however, fraudulently diverted N1.3 million from the NFF domiciliary account with Zenith Bank, an act that is contrary to section 311 of the Penal Code.

He further alleged that Zaka on his part, fraudulently diverted $7.2 million grant from FIFA for development of football in Nigeria while Mamza diverted $2.3 million.

The defendants all pleaded not guilty to the charges, and their counsel, Mr Arinze Egbo applied for their bail.
The Judge, Justice Peter Affen upheld the administrative bail granted to them earlier by the EFCC.

In addition, he ordered that the sureties should sign a bond with the registrar of the court, and the defendants should deposit their international passports.
The case has been adjourned until November 27, for the commencement of trial.

In football six months is a long time, A year is history and two years is archived.

Before his injury he was on the way up would probably be in an EPL team by now. Good on the ball technical and unpredictable with good pace. Maybe he could have added more goals but a a very good player.

But two years out of the game from injury. That is a mountain to climb.

You have said it all jare... Rohr knew what he was risking by sticking with Ighalo though I think Rohr was preparer to give Ighalo his last chance against Libya that prompted the recall of Isaac Success...
Rohr has made a lot of gambles since he took over but I think Uzoho and Ighalo case paid off the most...

I can not give a very good assessment he has just come back from a serious long term injury of near 2 years. He is just getting back to find his form. Also I haven't watched him live in a long time.

He was highly rated before Injury.

I don't think you can compare the two of them that would be very unfair. I don't think Odubanjo has played a game in the championship for Brentford this season.

I think he needs a whole season in the Championship hopefully without any injury before you can see where he us at. And if he has been able to get back to his former standard.

I loved this second goal...it put this ridiculous myth of him being a old fashioned target man to rest. The dribbling which some doubted he has showed.

You know what I was angry last night but the more I look at it the coach did the right thing. The boys should have been capable of getting themselves together as the problem was more mental. They can only gain this by experience and yesterday helped them alot.


Plus after blowouts my favorite way to win is by a goal. Na that one go pain those useless Libyans pass. They say ugly wins are what make champions

The pocket of spaces the Libyans got behind our midfield was too too much and I wonder why our coach was seeing this and was simple watching and even sting late. He should have subbed off Etebo and brought in Ogu, but he was doing that late after their comeback. Note well the areas they got their setpieces to score.

Ighalo is quite lucky though.. Another coach would have discarded him after the world cup but Rohr didn't...
I imagine how much threat Yakubu received for his miss against south Korea .. His club form afterward wasn't even enough to convince Nigerians...
