Sir KOG45 let me add that I've always been a fan of Alampasu. And I had always wanted him to start ahead of Ezenwa, Akpeyi etc since we had the GK crisis as a result of Ikeme's situation.
But hasn't Alampasu been invited since Enrico was appointed? (of course, I'm not even considering Agu a real GK coach lol)
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:58pm On Feb 28, 2018
grin. For real? until Argentina match?

so u dey enjoy all that shaky shaky leg since? Sir no mind me jor.

Kog45:
Pls try and read my original comment then you would understand better coz sometimes am always lost here,i thought we are here for football analysis and discussion.

I think am not Rohr who said inactive Alampasu is among the five keepers is considering for WC,pls be logical on this,am i Rohr who named him,so what a fuss.

It seems some don't even understand why we are here, takes things personally and always emotive and sentimental in their thinking as if we are here to fight.

Pls am very sorry to say this, have been following Eagles since 1980 so i just don't talk or saying anything for sake of it.

Ask icon4s or goldfish80, am always against Alampasu calling cos i believe so much on Akpeyi until Argentina match that i changed my mind.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:56pm On Feb 28, 2018
sure you have a right to make an opinion.
I was only questioning your seemingly premature judgment.

I'm sorry for the comparison. It was your use of "not fair to Alampasu" that brought forgiveness to mind.. as if it's a case of Rohr's play of favoritism etc.

Kog45:
No wahala but i believe. as a fan I have every right to take a critical look at the team,so nobody business,my opinion doesn't disturb your opinion that warrant 'you are talking like forgiveness',that was just the painful part of your comment.

It was after i made my comment that TheSuperNerd made a post and i modified my comment based on it so what else again.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:18pm On Feb 28, 2018
If Rohr's recent call-ups are anything to go by, the three goalkeepers he plans to take to the World Cup are Uzoho, Ezenwa and Akpeyi, who has been invited for the friendlies against Poland and Serbia next month.

I said it before that it will be harder for those not invited for March friendlies to gate crash.

It’s okay to question it, but not make a conclusion without getting all the info.

Modified
He had said it was unfair to Alampasu

Icon4s:
Not that I am pushing for Alampasu but one asking why he was initially left out in the assignment of a trainer is not out of place.

Thank God Rohr has cleared out that area.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:31pm On Feb 28, 2018
Oga sir no vex.
But we are too fast to read meanings into people’s actions. You are speaking of “let be truth be told”, when you have not gotten all the information.
Truth cannot be told without full insight. You have to get the information first before u can make a clear judgement.

Rohr is the coach. Even at the moment he can rate some keepers higher than the others. It’s his job to make judgements like that.

Kog45:
How does forgiveness talk?

If i may ask are you saying it's good to send trainer to Maduka and leave Alampasu out,on what criteria.

Good that Rohr has finally come out to make it cleared that all his five keepers will have trainer attached to them.

But i hate it when people read meaning to a very clear and simple comment.

I think am one of the moniker including goldfish80 and icon4s who always question Alampasu inclusion in the team and i remember Thegoodjoe always defend Alampasu.

But when truth need to be told we must say it without fear cos attaching trainer to Uzoho and Maduka alone is unfair to other keepers and it can cause acrimony in the team, thank God Rohr has made a bold statement towards the issue.

Pls how does i sound like forgiveness or how does forgiveness talk, pls i want to know.....
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 3:26pm On Feb 28, 2018
Rohr is now being unfair to Alampasu. KOG45 u are beginning to talk like forgiveness o. U of all people lol

Modified

Ehen thanks for the modification hahaha
Kog45:
....don't let Alloy Agu hear this(we only have one real goalkeeper trainer)but another coach is being sent to monitor Maduka?are they saying better to be keeping in youth team than be in main team as a youth player, this is unfair to Dele Alampasu.

Modified..... Just heard that Enrico would visit Alampasu too.

oga sir you are only raising this alarm based on the last Chelsea match.

How many assists and goals was credited to Moses in the previous season? How about this season so far?
Moses is only 1 goal and 1 assist shy of his tally from last premier league season.
Didn't Moses play like the winger that he is during the WC qualifiers?
Moses is not losing nothing. Looking at his tackling rate, he is improving an aspect of his game. Let the stats speak. If you still doubt me, let's talk again after the March friendlies.

BascoVanVeli:
How can u say he is losing nothing when it is clear to see that he is getting less offensive. Just like with Alaba and Rakitic I feel the situation runs a risk of affecting our national team. Great for club but bad for country.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:29pm On Feb 26, 2018
Moses in GWG has always been himself. No be today he start to play as RWB for Chelsea. He is given a free role in the national team, and he does that very well.

Modified.
If anything, it’s adding more strength to his game. He is losing nothing.

BascoVanVeli:
I said this to someone recently, Moses is becoming more of a full back than winger. It is great for Chelsea but I'm not so sure about the Super Eagles

CELTIC

komekn:
This may seem contradictory but if Ebuehi was to go to Celtic it would give him more exposure and if he performs he could find himself in the EPL on some very good £££.

But then he may be very content with Portuguese league.

The quota system will make our scouts go to work. But those scouted should still earn their place in the team. Only the best regardless of where they are from should make the final list.

Mujtahida:
NFF should extend the policy of using non-league players for the u- 17 to the u - 20 or at least saying that they should use 10 league players, 10 non league players and 5 foreign born players. With these they can kill three birds with one stone: reduce the number of age cheats who proliferate the local league who get into the team 2)unearth new talents 3)cap young foreign born players at least at the age grade level.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:04pm On Feb 25, 2018
Likewise those stand out players u mentioned that was farmed from the Scottish league.

komekn:
I had not even heard of him until he was highlighted here.

But I noticed he gets a lot of accolades in the Eredivisie and in the context of the Eredivisie he is a stand out player.

The term Outstanding is ambiguous because it has to be in context. Is he Ebuehi among the top10 or even top 50 RB in the worldhuh

When you play well in your league no matter how low the league is you get noticed. So far Benfica have noticed him unfortunately not one La Liga, Bundesliga, EPL, club has noticed him. Hopefully he will have a storming World cup and get noticed even more.

The Eredivisie has the highest number of goals scored among the top 20 leagues in Europe. That's a sign of a less competitive league not a strongly competitive one.

The Eredivisie is ranked below the Turkish, Swiss, Austrian leagues. So we can clearly see he is outstanding in League but we measure that outstanding in comparison to other much higher leagues and it's not so clear.

Golden Eaglets Chief Scout Sends Message To Nigeria U20 Coach Over Recent Call-Ups

Nigeria U-17 team's scouting coach, Bunmi Blair, has called on the U-20 team coach Paul Aigbogun to beam his searchlight on players playing in the FCT as they begin preparations for the qualifying series of 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Bunmi, on Friday, led Cityzens Football Club to victory in the 2018 FCT preseason tournament. Cityzens FC a non-league team defeated highly experienced teams FC Abuja, now known as EFCC FC 2-1, Oyah FC (made up of NPFL players) 2-1, before shocking Nigeria National League, NNL side NAF Rocket FC 2-1 in the final played at the Area 3 Play ground Abuja.

According to the coach cum OAP, FCT based teams have quality players that can compete at the national team level.

"Some of the players we have seen in the last few days can obviously compete favourably in the national teams, especially the Flying Eagles.

''I have seen a couple of them and I will recommend them to my bosses, he said."

The FCT preseason tournament is played every year to prepare FCT based teams for the new league season and also unearth new talents from the grassroots.

Meanwhile, the head coach of the Nigeria U-20 National Team, Paul Aigbogun on Friday, called 28 players to camp, as they begin preparations for the qualifying series of the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations. Non of the players are from the FCT based teams.

Reason why you shouldn't have old keepers as your 3rd choice..

Mujtahida:
In 1998 injury to Shorunmu forced us to go back to Rufai

In 2002 injury to Shorunmu forced Onigbinde to try Enyeama

Enyeama's forceful retirement forced us to get Ikeme

Sickness to Ikeme has forced Ezenwa, Akpeyi, Uzoho on us.

My point is it seems we have established a pattern whereby unless our hand is forced we never really do something about getting new gk. In order words our numbers two and three gks na just wash.

Did you always see Ebuehi as outstanding?

komekn:
You clearly have pre conceived notions because it's obvious you did not read my post and or your prejudice clouded your judgement.

I said the Scottish league is a backwater league of which it's proximity to the EPL and similar playing style gives it an advantage over other backwater leagues particularly with access to the EPL and Championship.

Finally, my exception for backwater leagues is that players should be the outstanding player in that backwater league not just making up the numbers. To be considered for the SE.

Ebuehi is an outstanding RB in the Eredivisie without doubt. However, the same cannot be said of Agu, Ogu and Omeruo yet they are in the SE set up.

Players always start from somewhere. Those players you mentioned were not acquired because of the quality of the Scottish league. Like I would always say you know a special player when u see one. We’ve also had players that made big moves from so called backwater leagues. That does not automatically mean the league they once played are top leagues. You have to consider other factors and also apply the same rule to other cases.

So the Portuguese league is a top league because of its close proximity to Spain? I can give other examples. Your love for anything UK is affecting your judgement. You are now making it seem the EPL style of play is second to none. E don tey we dey monitor you. Abi has the Scottish league become the next most competitive league because of the country’s location?

.
komekn:
I'll ask you a few questions.

Where was the most expensive center back in the world playing before he went to Southampton.huh

Where was Wanyama one of the best defensive midfielders in the EPL playing before ending up at Tottenhamhuh

Which club refused a £50 million offer for thier striker Dembele from Chelseahuh

Finally which Celtic player was bought by Barcelona to be thier main strikerhuh

All from the back water league grin shocked

One advantage this backwater league has is location close to action of the EPL and style of play more suited to the EPL and Championship.

90 mins against Serbia for consistency sake. That was my point. Of course I don’t expect he will do badly against Serbia.

Humility017:
a good 90 mins against Poland should be enough to seal his place as super eagles No.1.

one thing we still haven't understand about ezenwa is that...he always rush out from his line....and there by leaving space for a talented player to chip the ball off his head...he did this severally in this last Chan

you know he is not that tall but him always rushing out may gift a player like messi 5 goals in a match...

Let’s see who Rohr will pick when they are all available.

somehow:
Idowu hasn't played enough for us to be compared (performance wise) with Echiejile, let him get to play more before judging.

Echiejile has faced more than Pavon oga!

My last comment on this until March is that the coach knows what he wants and if sticking to Echiejile is part of his plans, what can you possibly do? Until the series of friendlies get here and something else happens, Echiejile remains the main man for Rohr according to him (not me).

As long as any of Toru, Uduokhai and Akpoguma are available, there should be no mention of Efe. Scotland is a backwater league.

TheSuperNerd:
Jordan Torunarigha proved his quality once more in the Bundesliga and this time against Germany's Top team.... He was very impressive.

Reason. U can’t use one match to judge any keeper. Our #1 keeper also needs consistent games with SE.

Uzoho has shown great potential. If he continues that way, he should be left for consistency sake.

Akpeyi may post a good show one game and be abysmal in the next. I doubt he will get another chance. . Forget Rohr’s diplomatic talk.

I want to see Uzoho for 90 mins against Poland and if he does well, another 90 mins against Serbia, and if he performs well again, Rohr should just use that keeper trainer gum am, because we will be grooming him for the #1 spot.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:52pm On Feb 24, 2018
1 The GK issue was not referred to in this context. Because it will automatically apply to the young keepers as well who have not been part of this team. And Rohr won’t have even considered Enyeama in the first place.

2. Echiejile’s chances in making it to Russia looks bright especially if he gets game time wherever he plays, but there is no guarantee he will be a starter in Russia

3. Old SE players from the past who have not been part of this team have a slim chance.

4. There will be few slots for grabs.

5. Rohr seems stuck on Osimhen.

Gernot Rohr vows to stick with core squad for World Cup
By Gbenga Adewoye, Correspondent

Despite unconvincing showings from his goalkeepers, the Super Eagles gaffer has ruled out bringing new players into the team ahead of the showpiece
Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has revealed his intention to stick with the players who earned Nigeria a ticket to the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The Super Eagles will compete for honours when the competition begins in June - and they have been zone alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in Group D.

And despite unconvincing displays by goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho coupled with the unavailability of first-choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, the German tactician has reinstated his decision not to bring in fresh legs ahead of the showpiece.

“We have built a good environment for the team and I believe all the players gave everything to secure the ticket to Russia," Rohr told BBC Sport .
"It looks very impossible to get Carl Ikeme to play in Russia, but Ikechukwu Ezenwa showed in big matches so far that he can be in goal.
“The young boy Uzoho had a great game against Argentina so I've sent the goalkeeper trainer to continue to provide support for this boy in Spain.

"We are not limited as we also have other goalkeepers like Akpeyi, Ajiboye and Alampasu in the team, so I believe we are fine."

https://images.performgroup.com/di/library/GOAL/e9/9b/gernot-rohr_d19evezym83d1j5jf90bw2fn2.png

"You have to respect what the former players have done in the past but be careful that you don't try to bring them back because people think so," Rohr continued.

"We have big experience in captain [John] Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and our left back Elderson who is now playing in Belgium.

"If we feel the need to strengthen this squad we know what to do because for nearly two years now we've had a good atmosphere so far. Another good news is that the young striker in Wolfsburg [Victor] Osimhen is also playing now.

"I will make the [provisional] squad based on this group and also give one of the CHAN boys a chance as well.
"We can't just keep bringing in player after player when you already have those who have proven that they can do the job.”

The Super Eagles will have to navigate their way past Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D to make it to the knock-out stage.
