tbaba1234: Allegations Of Age Cheats Trails Recently Released List Of Nigeria U20 Players
The list of players called up to the Nigeria national Under-20 team has generated lot of debates with some players alleged to be beyond the age limit stipulated by FIFA for players at that level.
28 players were called up by coach of the team Paul Aigbogun for the start of preparations ahead of their first qualifiers game for the 2019 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which will be holding in Niger Republic.
The players were mainly picked from teams in the Nigeria Professional Football League with Nasarawa United having as many as three players in the list released for the start of camping on Sunday 25th of February 2018.
According to some ardent followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League, the list has players who have been around for over six seasons in the league, hence can’t be said to be below the age of 20.
Four players were specifically named and Owngoalnigeria.com is currently making checks on the claims to ascertain if at all they are true, and we will publish our findings in our subsequent reports.
No be race matter na personality. Some people are all about money. Others enjoy their work and put accomplishment ahead of anything. But a worker deserves his pay — and on time.
realpoacher: Even if a local coach is paid 20M per month, he won't still think the way this man is thinking.
It is in the mind sir, it's all about exposure
Something is inherently wrong with the mind of the black man...
Let's talk about Oliseh...
When he was appointed just recently by Nigeria as the head coach, Amodu Pinnick made sure that his first 3 months salaries was paid ahead... As in, he was paid in advance!
Yet he couldn't do anything. Rather, He was always complaining about inner diabolic forces fighting him. SMH
He couldn't even stay in Nigeria to work.
Would you say he was owed?... Would you still say he wasn't given the right environment to work?
Comparing him in sharp contrast to Rohr
When Rohr was first hired, he said he doesn't care whether he was paid on time or not. He is here to work, and work he must..... Look at the results for yourself
Either way, we would have to support our team. But my point havs been Enyeama also needed to get game time after securing a new club to be considered. Now that’s because Lille was not going to give him a chance to play. All those blowing hot smoke about Ejide, has he even started playing yet? And if he has, will he get an invite? And if he does, there will be no excuse not to invite Aiyegbeni as well. So many IFs. There is no smoke and u guys dey shout fire fire
elyte89: Boss no,because we don't want a player near a national team in nairaland doesn't mean its actually d same way in real life....same thing goes for d Gk issue,if rohr ends up taking Dele, ejide and akpeyi to d world cup, heaven won't fallor likewise taking d rookies. It doesn't change anything at d end....no b say we b favourite for d world cup sef
You guys can’t wait to cry foul.. I dey look una..
Danielnino00: This March friendlies could be the last chance for Akpeyi and Echijele to redeem themselves.... Unless Rohr is being sentimental or forced by some big men in the NFF....
Icon79: Goalkeeping is one area we desperately need to fortify, so I totally agree that he needs to be given a chance to stake his claims. However, I won't lose any sleep about him if Rohr decides to do otherwise. If he's that good, they should have recommended him during the qualifiers.
Uzoho’s and Maduka’s names also. Aiyenugba deserves a look in. Not saying he has anything spectacular to bring to the table. But if those “academy” keepers are given a chance, he should also. Whether he makes the final cut or not it will be beneficial to the other keepers for competition sake.
He is the most active keeper we have.
Icon79: Beats me, bro! And why didn't his name come up throughout the qualifiers? After Carl Ikeme's sickness, why didn't anybody mention Dele? Now that we've qualified, names started coming out of the woodwork.
Actually, it was Alloy Agu who wrote that on disguise.
MetalJigsaw: Spot on... While reading the post, all I could sense was a disguised eulogy and advertisement for Ejide just to engineer the goalkeeper to earn him a recall to the team.
bengine: God bless kingphillip for posting this video..isn't this what we have been saying Regarding dynamism..do u really think Chelsea would play this way against smaller teams!!
At a world cup game that is a tournament, there is nothing wrong bringing a player in to suit your tactics..if u truly have a quality bench, this should not be a problem or affect the balance if the team..
Of course he was right to give Enyeama conditions in the first place. Enyeama did not meet it during the transfer window, so for me, this was expected...
Match fit is the emphasis here.
Even Ezenwa will have to start getting game time ahead of his contemporaries at the club level.
We have to make do with the available. Aiyenugba should at least get a look in.
Pls say something on this cos it seems Rohr is right,.
If we want to go by Rohr submission only Akpeyi worth included in the team or is he telling us better to be keeping in division three and regional league than wallowing on the bench in first team.
I think is better for keeper like Alampasu to go back to fareinse youth team or else he should forget WC.
Rohr statement is cleared regards goalkeepers, just be playing week in week out cos if not why considering goalkeepers at very lower league like regional league.
Rohr Says He Won't Take Enyeama To The World Cup Because Of Winston Bogarde Status
Published: February 21, 2018
Rohr Says He Won't Take Enyeama To The World Cup Because Of Winston Bogarde Status Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has finally ruled out the possibility of including Lille netminder Vincent Enyeama on his 23-player roster for the 2018 World Cup.
The German pointed out that the veteran goalkeeper has been inactive for his French club since the start of this season, a similar status former Netherlands international Winston Bogarde found himself in the last two years of his career at Chelsea.
''He is not playing anywhere, so we cannot take players who are not playing,'' Rohr told reporters at the Aiteo/Nigeria Football Federation Awards on Monday.
''We are working hard to have the best of our legs taken to Russia and we don’t have the luxury of naming a player that has not been playing in recent time.
''Each time we have a problem, there is always a good answer and I hope it will be the same for the World Cup.
''We currently have so many players in camp and we want to continue monitoring them. The most important thing is for them to be in best shape for the Mundial.''
Enyeama last played for the first team of Lille on April 15, 2017, when he lasted 65th minute on the pitch against Rennes in the Ligue 1.
Even with the inclusion of Mikel and Ighalo, there is still room for “one or two” new names. You can hardly deduce that from his statements.
asha80: it might also mean the speculation that Mikel and ighalo might not be invited because of the coincidence of the start of the Chinese league is true
It’s looking like if gatecrashers want to crash, it’s now or never.
And let me add, the Poland and Serbia friendly will determine a lot as it has to do with the final 30 man list.
Modified.
From his statements it’s looking like he is waiting to monitor Ezenwa and Simon’s current form before unveiling the 28 man list. Hence, there may be replacements for them.
“In the next couple of weeks we will release a list of 28 players for the friendly games against Poland and Serbia. We still have one or two players that we want to check on before coming out with the list,”
“Moses Simon has been injured a couple of weeks now and we expect that he will be back in action for his club (Gent of Belgium) this weekend.
“There is also Ezenwa who is injured at the moment but is working hard to be fit.
“The games against Poland and Serbia is a big chance for the new players to show they have what it takes to play for us. As you know the next game will be in May so now is time for everyone who want to go to Russia to prove their quality.
“The two games are also important for us because the last time we played together was in November against Argentina. So, it will be an opportunity to work together again before the World Cup.
“In May, we will release another 30-man list for the other friendly games from which we will draw the final list for the World Cup.”
Mujtahida: My brother if not for that tactical analysis will many of us see the fine tactical details of the match? No! I keep harping on this point about dynamism but I am misconceived as saying that there's no first eleven, the coach should spin all the time. Well that's not what I am saying. I only just know that the depths to which science has penetrative football is deep. Even within a game formations change in very fine ways that only the most astute of observers will notice. Stability and dynamism - that's the balance a coach going to the world cup must aim for. If you choose stability without dynamism you will get roasted. If you choose dynamism without stability you end getting confused and will get roasted too just as it happened to Leow's Germany Euro 2012 loss to Italy at the semi finals.
Every forumite on this thread should watch this video again and again, and they would understand how this game of football have evolved.. and how we don't just do a two way comparison of players as if that's all the story. some players are better suited for a specific game plan -- simple.
Coaches must select players with dynamism in mind as well.
kingphilip: the tactical analysis of the match between chelsea and barcelona yesterday in the video below
I’ve been preaching J.Obi since last year, and many have been countering “injury prone”. Make we siddon look
Mujtahida: Can't this guy just be fit for once so that our midfield can benefit from what he adds to the mix?
OBI SET FOR EAGLES RETURN, STARS FOR TORINO Vs JUVE; ROHR CONSIDERS CHAN STARS February 18, 2018 3:28 pm
By Johnny Edward: Torino midfielder, Joel Obi, is set to return to the Super Eagles squad ahead of next month’s international friendlies against Poland and Serbia, four years after he last featured for Nigeria, Completesportsnigeria.com has reliably gathered.
Obi was on from the start for Torino against Turin rivals and champions Juventus in a Serie A clash on Sunday as he continued his impressive form in Italy this season. Juventus won 1-0. The former Inter Milan star last featured for the Super Eagles in their 2-2 draw against Scotland in a 2014 friendly game in London.
Gernot Rohr’s men will take on Poland and Serbia on March 23 and March 27 respectively.
Obi has been in a rich vein of form in the Italian Serie A, scoring four goals in 17 league games (five goals in 19 games in all competitions).
“He (Joel Obi) brings a different dimension to the team. We saw the Super Eagles play a different system against Argentina and that’s part of the dynamism Rohr is hoping his side can evolve into before the World Cup,” a top source in the Nigerian Football Federation revealed to CSN.
Obi has made 12 international appearances for the Super Eagles since his debut in 2011.
Completesportsnigeria.com also gathered from the source that Rohr will make a late decision on whether to include any of the outfield Home Eagles players in his squad for the games.
“I don’t know as of now mabye later he (Rohr) will decide that,” the source added.
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group D alongside Iceland, Croatia and Argentina for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
When I say we have not been adventurous and stuck with the same set of players. My main focus is player consideration we are not looking at a wide enough set of players.
Furthermore I have doubts particularly with youth players who have done nothing in the game to be considered.
Then add to that players who are in backwater leagues but are not outstanding in those leagues to justify consideration.
New isn't necessarily better and either is younger. Irrespective of age, but the main consideration should be present current performance and form.
That's why I called for Obagoal to be tried tested and if found to have qualities to offer, selected. The same goes for Aluko, Obi, H.Akpan, Ogbeche, etc Who are putting up good performance in thier club sides. In this regard the pool for selection consideration is not expansive enough.

Mujtahida: Omo I saw new sides to the Jersey. I just pray our play matches the jazzed up vibe and sleek classiness that Jersies oozes. One of the accompaniments looked like something Fela would love to wear.
Did you see the picture of Sterling? Hahahaha hahahaha. Very cheeky

Note: The thread's title name shall be modified once the host(s) is named and the championship logo shall be attached under this first post. But until then, let's set the ball rolling as the time has come for another generation to be unleashed from Nigeria majorly via the local scene and with a touch of extra quality from abroad as time goes on... We need a strong U-20 side at the end of the day that can go on to do great things even beyond this level. That's the ultimate goal.
**The U-17 thread will be created by or before Weekend... Thank you** Let's get the party started....
