Ezenwa has conceded less in open play although clocking more time for SE. the stats favor him. forgiveness: Off course, they are in the same local league but one pass one.
Tonight, I saw a very good keeper better than Ezenwa. It's shows that the best is not always preferred.
If Enyeama gets game time, I am afraid he is good to go.
Na who una wan put for post? |

In the same league based on ability there. Not in the same league based on World Cup chances. There was a context. Icon4s: With the World Cup in view Ezenwa and Ajiboye are not in the same league. Take note. |

Ezenwa will go to the World Cup but he won’t be 1st choice. darkelf: Bro, I seriously doubt that he'll pick any of them. |

Ahead doesn’t mean far better or better. Ahead means having the most chances and more in consideration as regards SE. But that could change after Poland, if Uzoho does it again. AIG07: EMOTIONAL YOU CALL IT?
How do you explain a keeper who keep serving the opponent goals on a platter of gold. He was busy punching the balls down to their feet as if it is a drill section in training.
Ezenwa is ahead of them all.#fact. |

Oga. Also read the post I replied. Maybe I should have put a quote to it. The stats are not favoring Ajiboye. But a bad defense can make a keeper really look bad. I consider them in the same league with the World Cup in view. I’ve been saying it I don’t trust our home based keepers. Icon4s: Ow, Ezenwa is not far better. Meaning he is better.
I thought a few days ago you said Ajiboye was better.
This is what happens when you conclude from just one game. |

They are in the same league. Modified I stick to my words I’ve given up on Enyema. He is not going to meet Rohr’s conditions. forgiveness: It's not about how many goals you chop, it's how you take chop am.
From what i saw tonight, Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa.
His positioning, ability to read the the game and reflexes are superior to that of Ezenwa. If he has better defenders covering him, we are good to go.
But me no wan see any of those keeper for post if Enyeama gets playing time. |

Ezenwa is not far better than Ajiboye. You are just emotional after the loss. They are in the same league. AIG07: Against Sudan everybody was singing Ajiboye's name. He did try by bringing us to the final.
Ezenwa may have his own lapses but he is far better than the lots.
Ajiboye lacks simple AWARENESS. He can't even spot the run and positions of opponents in his front. He contributed to 2 of those goals.
No wonder Rohr said he is not in his plan. Rohr has Insight. Ajiboye is not SEs quality. |

M7even: we had 23 shots against Rwanda. some people were shouting that was something to take home..
today they hammered us 26 shots scoring four times..this is not a way to end a tournament. this is something we will have to take home!! @bolded. Yea we really need to take the true lessons home. We were not even good enough for the finals. Something for Amaju to think about. As DRLikita rightly suggested, there are things The NFF can control although our bigger problem is the Nigerian problem. |

Amuneke and Siasia will have been better options working under Rohr. This is not a verdict based on today’s result alone. AIG07: Rohr na baba! Thanks to Amaju for appointing him.

Sir it's like you didn't get me. How long will it take for us to ascertain who is best among them? Are we going to wait until the final camping? If our GK coaches know what they are doing, by now they should already have two serious contenders. These two GKs should have full game times in all the friendlies. It's one thing to get the best, it's another thing to prepare the best for that big stage. If Uzoho is the best, he should get the majority of game time in the friendlies before the World Cup. That will give him enough preparation for the tournament proper. Likewise, if it's Ajiboye or Ezenwa. TheGoodJoe: Screen and select the best. Age, Experience or club status is just sentimental selection. We need the best in goal.

you suppose don already email am to me sharp sharp Mujtahida: Guys I got an interesting book from a WhatsApp forum I belong to on how Germany won the last WC (Title:Das reboot). It details how the Germans engineered the 2014 success. They went about it deliberately, setting things up from say roughly 2002. It tells of how German players are educated to become thoroughbred professionals. It tells the story of the establishment of football academies and playing centers spread out throughout Germany in a way similar to how the RCCG church establishes a parish in every 1km (walking distance). It talks about the potpourri of human resources the Germans utilized- they even involved the German national hockey team coach, a world renowned adventurer and SAP (the largest software company in the world)
It's 289 pages, written in quite an engaging way with a happy, lighthearted tone wrapped up in simple, crisp English.
Football is no longer kick, dribble, run, score. It has become scientific, indeed almost a pure science. This much became apparent to me when due to the constant use of terms like pressing, diamond shape, tactical formations by goodjoe, Mickael2 and others. Joebie reintroduced me again to four four two online after I'd read the hardcopies long time ago. Reading four four two magazine further reinforced the view that football is an intellectual endeavour.
We are here today. Nobody knows who among us might be involved with our football tomorrow. So reading such a book can birth a dream in our hearts or at least give us insight on how things are shaping up beyond our climes. Reading Icon4s mention Osimhen in his exchange with goodjoe, I remembered the book and I think Osimhen is just now getting educated.
If anyone is interested in the book just drop your email and I will send the book to you. |

I just wanted to make it a point that this is no longer a player A versus player B debate. What we have here is a conundrum, if we really must be realistic. I don't trust a home based keeper for the world cup. But should we trust very young keepers like Uzoho, Alampasu or Maduka? For a young keeper, the keeper has to be exceptional. If Rohr has made his decision on Uzoho, we must subject him to full 90 minutes games in most of the friendlies we have line up -- if not all. That will be enough preparation for him for the tourney proper, considering that he is not playing in the topflight at the moment. Modified Let me reiterate, in either case, our defense has to be SOLID. Kog45: On a good day if we based it on activities in Europe and experience Aiyenugba should nick it in the absence of Enyeama but i don't think Rohr led technical team really rate Aiyenugba.
As it's now i don't think Aiyenugba is in the pictures so let's keep on watching what Rohr really have for us but i hope he get it right cos not getting it would be disastrous. |

Now like it's looking like we will not have an experienced keeper at the World Cup, we will have to really work tirelessly on the keepers we have available. Enyeama did not make the move this January, hence will most likely not get enough games under his belt before June. Verdict: out of consideration.
Among the five or so, we have some young GKs with very good potential. While I am not against the likes of Uzoho, Maduka (?) and Alampasu getting the number one shirt, I believe any of this very young GKs will have to show exceptional ability to be given that status. It's a big responsibility to place on them, regardless of how much work is put into them before the World Cup.
We have those who are approaching thirty -- if not in their early thirties already. They have great ability, but will have to be exposed to high pressure games prior to the world cup, so they won't be overwhelmed by the occasion at the World Cup proper. E.g keepers like Ezenwa and Ajiboye.
Now my questions. Can we trust either of the home based keepers to be between the sticks in Russia?
Either way, I think it's a tricky situation. Our defense will have to be really solid.
As an afterthought, how about Dele Aiyenugba of Hapoel Ashkelon (Israeli 1st tier) Here is his stats for this season so far.
