Now that CHAN is a grade A FIFA tournament, I don’t think it is best for us to treat it as an age grade tournament. Young players should earn their place in the team regardless. Personally, I would like CAF to change the tournament criteria to include debutants — not restricted to players playing in the domestic league. Players playing in Africa should be a good start. But eventually, players all over the world who have not earned any prior cap for their national teams. Icon4s: You couldn't have said it any better.
Simply put and plain.
I believe this should be the last CHAN for some old players in that team.
Even without CAF fixing an age limit, the NFF needs to set a goal for participating in CHAN. If it is for talent discovery I see no reason why Papas like Rabiu Ali and Osas Okoro would be playing. Are they still hoping to make the Super Eagles team or a team in Europe?
In subsequent CHAN we need to see younger players please. That will add more value to both the league and the national teams. |

you guys are saying the same thing. One person is just speaking in a language that everyone understands -- not physics. if you have a slow acceleration, you can't react quickly for pace. Ogu is a DM/CM. The question is can he make up for that deficiency (if it is) with other good attributes, just as Mikel has done over the years? realpoacher: The thing is when people say Ogu is slow, I laugh... Lolz
There is a big difference between Speed and acceleration. What Ogu lack is acceleration not speed!
Ogu is tall, he has long legs, he can run, for each strides he makes Agu with his short legs will make two. He can chase down a player with speed, but for real, he is slow to pick up that speed.... In order words, he has a slow acceleration |

sharp boy. goldfish80: Southampton Premier League Debutant Commits International Future To Nigeria
Southampton's new kid on the block Michael Obafemi has committed his international future at senior level to Nigeria ahead of his country of birth, Republic of Ireland, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
The 17-year-old had been on the radar of Nigeria's national team coaches and the Nigerian Federation even before he made his Premier League debut in the Saints' 1-1 draw vs Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, January 21.
Obafemi was one of the best players for Team Nigeria UK when they lost to a Golden Eaglets squad parading the likes of Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimhen in a pre-World Cup friendly in June 2015.
Coach Emmanuel Amuneke was pleased with his performance and had mulled over the possibility of adding him to the roster but the striker had to return to England.
''He traveled with us to Abuja, he was the best player for Team Nigeria UK. Just last week, we got a call from his mother that he wants to change, he wants to play for Nigeria not Ireland,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''He has been scoring goals regularly for Southampton U18s, we brought him to Nigeria when he was with Leyton Orient, he's a fantastic player.''
Obafemi, who has caps for Republic of Ireland U19s, has scored 12 goals for Southampton U18s this season. http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=26281 |

Yes Rohr is listening to them/us jihday: Trying to downplay his poor positioning won't help the Eagles, so you want us to ignore his apparent and very dangerous flaws? so when we get to the world cup and our opponents start scoring due to his inability to deal with crosses or do you think all strikers will be forgiven like Slimani and the other Algerian guy who couldn't score from few yards out due to his inability to deal with crosses? make una continue to support mediocrity o, all of us eyes go clear when we reach world cup |

Ezenwa is already in the SE set up. Hence the bar is set higher for him especially as CHAN is a low grade tournament in reality. Petrobros: I am telling you. Its not just him, if it was Ajiboye and Afelokhai that have had the kind of performance Ezenwa has had thus far they would not be singing the same song. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:02pm On Jan 20, 2018 |
Tbaba is not like that Petrobros: Misjudging crosses happens to every goalie.
Today, Petre Czech took some wrong decisions in punching some balls rather than holding it. But that does not take the credit away from Ezenwa in keeping yet another clean sheet. He deserves the credit please.
If it were Afelokhai or Ajiboye that hard the kind of performance Ezenwa has had thus far I know you will pay a blind eye to some of the misjudgments and claim they are better than Ezenwa. |

Exactly. At least that way we can can be sure some of the broadcasts will be okay. NTA will always be NTA. somehow: Signing a deal with NTA is the worst decision ever taken by LMC, makes no sense. It would have even made more sense signing deals directly with one private station per state to air their home matches live in each state. This should be possible or don't you think so? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:21pm On Jan 16, 2018 |
I wonder what NFF expected signing a deal with NTA. I’m not surprised kentebemoney: Bro's the quality na NTA standard, no think am, no replay, no action highlight, the commentary na DIE!!! .
On the good side the football was good. kelly kester just brought in from enyimba added steel to the midfield, breaking up play and creating play with good shot from outside the box. there is one guy, I don't know his name he plays from the left side of the attack, the guy off and on the ball runs is good. Rangers tried but what made the difference in the game was the quality of the personnel, if akwa united can get their defensive play right the'll mount a serious challenge for the league. |

na NTA show the match? How was the quality? kentebemoney: Bros i enjoyed the game, swift counter attacks from both sides but Akwa was just better. This Akwa team with Ifeanyi Ifeanyi + Sunday faleye+ Victor mboma will be extremely deadly. Did you notice Kelly kester yesterday, great addition to the midfield |

komekn: Good news for him with caution. These are Portuguese clubs, I wonder what the transfer fee is that will give us an idea what value has been placed on him and the level of opportunity he will get.
He should have waited till after the World cup possibly if he has a great World cup then his value could go right up. On the other hand he could have a poor one and value goes down.
The club is irrelevant it's the opportunity to play and progress. Better to be first team choice at a lower club than a bench warmer in a top club. komekn na u they talk this? I find it surprising.. If na Norwich, u no for talk so oh |

His allegiance is no longer the issue. I’m no longer on his case because he is not performing at the moment. But It’s only a rough patch. goldfish80: I remember you were on his case last year as Tammy's chief defense attorney. Even after making his debut for England, you felt it was part of Tammy's elaborate plan to play a couple of games for England then switch to Nigeria. Please this is a new year. You were on point. It was clear you had some insider information. ChrisKels: When I broke the news of Rohr's progress in the pursuit of the German boys sometime late November last year, some people thought I made it up, while some were questioning his continuous pursuit of these boys while the pro innit boys were tagging him a nepotist who is biased with his decisions when it concerns the Germans. People like Kog45 and tbaba1234 tried to be smart, hence, tbaba1234 said Uduokhai would be a lost curse, because, out of the trio, he was the only one with a feasible German dream as he is immensely talented, many reasons were given as to why our pursuit of him was a pipe dream. I jst giggled, and ignored the various quotes because my insider never gives me fake news. U all can now c for urselves
To those pro innit boys, PLEASE which of those average innit players can boldly say he is open to playing for Nigeria? People want us to worship whack players like Adarabi just because he is a mancity prodigy, tomori etc. Though Felix is head and shoulders above those innit guys, did u all see how respectful he sounded to the GWG? No innit player as talented as Felix will admit Nigeria is an option late alone being open to playing for Nigeria
Believe it, or not Jordan and Akpoguma are seriously reconsidering their earlier stances. |
