It’s a matter of who outscores. It’s not gonna be a 1-0 win. Match don reset

Ref had have made questionable calls. But I think we have equally escaped at least a yellow card (not counting Peseiro’s). So let’s not magnify it just yet.

Bro I said they will have the chances and we will seal it. Didn’t expect our goal to come earlier but following my gut feeling again real time. Now let’s hope we can really seal it.

Mujtahida:
We did not play well at all.

I have the feeling CIV will get more of the chances but we will seal the game with fewer chances

Our boys looking confident. Let’s see how that will translate on the pitch.

lol me I no be prophet.
Na gut feeling I dey use. Prediction from matches I have seen, as well as gut feeling real time. I apologize if e dey mess up ur mind.

If I claim say I be prophet now many of una go believe. Na so pastors dey take trick many people. These kind things na observation and objectivity. If u apply these, free from emotions, you will get many (not all) things right.

Babalawo sef na wayorist

Mujtahida:
😂😂😂 Una just dey encourage unaself. Best thing na to go consult Babalawo and Dibia.
Me I have fortified myself with enough prophecy - both fake and real 😂😂😂

Last of all naija team na Super Eagles, Eagle don predict say we go win.

At the U17 fifa WC in 2013, we beat Mexico twice. First at the group stage and again at the finals. Till date that team remains my favorite national team ever because of their grit and how they dominated opponents without respect to names.

Today I hope the SE can repeat that feat. One man was in that team of 2013, and he is none other but Senior Man Iheanacho. I hope he is able to do his little bit today and I’m behind the boys to win against all odds. Let’s go SE. Fly High!

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:01pm On Feb 10, 2024
Revenge Dey the equation. You can’t take that away from this tie.

Goke7:
but CIV has to prove that they are better than the Eagles on the pitch of play rather than overconfidence in the name of revenge. That was SA's mistake, they thought they were better than the Eagles in penalty kicks, you need to see their joy when extra time ended for a match they have not won. Na over confidence kill SA.

What CIV has over the Eagles is the home support but they too have to play the game just like the Eagles. The better and most experienced side will win tomorrow. I've listened to some of our players, they know what's at stake tomorrow. CIV should come out and play rather than talk about revenge.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:59pm On Feb 10, 2024
lol God no dey this matter. To beat the hosts twice no be beans. If we can achieve that feat, I will never criticize THIS team again.

mostob:
Oya.. they should leave the vengeance to God and let us carry the cup. Dem kuku no need am. grin
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:58pm On Feb 10, 2024
Which is why I said “I wish”.

Mujtahida:
This talk about unity (which I've read and seen so much on the news and SM) shows how little we appreciate the deep fissures and cleavages of division based on hardened lines of ethno-religious differences that defines us as a nation. To think winning Afcon will unite us is just magic thinking.

We will be happy, we will share that joy albeit just for the occasion.

After the joy, our disunity remains.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:29pm On Feb 10, 2024
It won’t be down to the fans — I think. As long as they won’t be booing their own team..
Odunayaw:
Caution is not usually a virtue of a vengeful man.

Were we in CIV shoes this Nigerians would largely be saying "Moses why have you brought us this far for Pharaoh to kill us and our children"

I have never been to CIV so I can't tell of the mentality of the fans though.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:28pm On Feb 10, 2024
We need a little more owambe no doubt. I wish the trophy can really unite us. Because I know it will not translate to better governance. We need it for unity sake.

mostob:
Exactly..... Hopefully, we will carry the cup. A win tomorrow will be great for the country.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:25pm On Feb 10, 2024
It’s a case of a cup half full or half empty.

In this case, where a slim victory via pk was the first outcome, it’s more of a motivation to revenge not a fear to lose again.

mostob:
If you're out for a revenge against a team that defeated you days ago, you will feel.a pressure. All you will carry in your mind is the fact that you must not lose. As for Nigeria, we already know what to expect from them. They're coming for revenge so we will be better prepared. Mind I remind you that CIV is at home. They're the host.... They will be under pressure to win the cup.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:23pm On Feb 10, 2024
My bad I read your response wrongly.

mostob:
There will be pressure bro.
CIV wouldn't want to lose the second time so they would do everything to win.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:21pm On Feb 10, 2024
The bolded is it. CIV is not under any damn pressure. That’s a motivation, not pressure.

mostob:
What exactly are you saying? I gave you my opinions and why I feel CIV will be under pressure. Wetin bring emotion and ladies talk?
Whether we're in their shoes or in their boxers, the scenarios are still the same. Nigeria would never want to lose twice to a team in a single tourney.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:19pm On Feb 10, 2024
Thats the point. Our players need all the motivation like they never met CIV before. A team that lost scandalously to EG 4-0. Chamged rheir coach and have managed to pull through to the finals in front of their home fans each game, have only one thing in their minds which is revenge. They are not under pressure to win the trophy because all hope seemed lost at a point. They are determined to beat us, and if they do, the trophy will just be an icing on the cake.

I repeat, what we need right now is the right minds around the players talking the right talk, not politicians which could be counter productive .

DissTroy:
And this overconfidence from fans and players alike might be our undoing.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:14pm On Feb 10, 2024
So u could not stop to think if we were in their shoes.
I excuse ladies for being overly emotional. However men need to apply a great deal of logic.

I want us to win tomorrow. In fact I’m praying for it. But I will always be objective, because God is also an Ivorian lol

mostob:
There will be pressure bro.
CIV wouldn't want to lose the second time so they would do everything to win.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:11pm On Feb 10, 2024
I’m just praying nobody dies. Let the players know that lives are at stake.

Mujtahida:
Joebie shey you see. This is emblematic of the general feeling in the country.

Joints are making arrangements, goats, cows drinks for tomorrow
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:09pm On Feb 10, 2024
I hope the players are not thinking this way. Because what we really need now is some big motivational talk.
Mujtahida:
I'm not in CIV but Nigerians have concluded that they have already won it. I don't know whether we can sense it but there's this certainty that we have won it.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:02pm On Feb 10, 2024
lol
chinchum:
Yes, fear of not losing the the second time in less than 4 weeks in front of home crowd.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:45pm On Feb 10, 2024
Tomorrow any team can win. But when it comes to this question you need to be objective. Look at it both ways.

Modified
If Nigeria were in their shoes. Having lost the first game by a slim margin, in front of our fans and have had a fairytale run so far with revenge now in our minds. Will we really be under pressure?

mostob:
1. The pressure is on CIV as they're the host.

2. We have beaten them in the group stage so we might have a very slight psychological edge.

3. We have the better and maybe a complete team.

Just saying
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:47pm On Feb 10, 2024
It will be down to who really wants it. At this stage who really has a psychological edge?

Experience in tougher leagues.

Arguably one of the best.

komekn:
He has been in Europe since 2018 playing football ⚽ after leaving Kano, he is supposedly 23.

What more experience does he need please.

Is the the best and or most outstanding midfield player in Royal Antwerp ❓

He is not even as good as Etebo who I felt in the last world cup was excellent. Not sure what's happening with Etebo and why he is forgotten.⁉️
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:20pm On Feb 09, 2024
We have our own Kante in Yusuf. He just lacks experience. Make the ball calm down small.

komekn:
The modern DM ot holding player has the ability to switch from defence to attack create options and even score.

This is what made Ngole Kante the best although he added a phenomenal work rate to complement his skill speed strength and football ⚽ intelligence.

Omeruo na good ball player na.. abi u no notice he was subbed in for the penalties.

ChrisKels:
I expected Omeruo and Aina to miss. Aina is too skillful and anxious to be a PK taker.
