Well yes and thank you too. I think Iheanacho himself knows best, because he is the one wearing the shoes. The boy should not be pressured either way. If he feels he is improving as a player, he would want to stay barring external pressures. However, at the same time, I'm sure he can learn a thing or two from other coaches as well. TheGoodJoe:
I honestly want Iheanacho playing. I wish Iheanacho is playing and I have said, I will support the young man if he feels he has learnt enough and wants to leave.
However, if Nacho feels he is becoming a better player and he wants to stay, he has my full support. I admire the discipline of Pep's system.
As I said before, a season or two. If Nacho is not in Pep's plans, I said leave. So I wonder where I did not put the probability of Pep not wanting Nacho in context. I did.
Thank for your smooth reply. |

My people. how una dey? Una don chop? I've tried to track back and be updated with posts and discussions on here. Please forgive me if I still missed something.
Now on the Iheanacho/TheGoodJoe issue. There are two possibilities here. And here is my observation:
1. TheGoodJoe has probably succeeded in convincing some of us here that Iheanacho wants to stay and get drills from Pep, which is why their comments may come off as they are dissing Iheanacho.
2. Some or most of us here are actually being sarcastic and dissing TheGoodJoe
On the whole, I actually think most of us want Iheanacho to leave because we know his worth and he deserves regular playing time.
TheSuperNerd made a point that I've been towing. TheGoodJoe, you are supporting a guy in Pep who actually don't have Iheanacho in his plans, so your arguments do not hold water. But I do hope Iheanacho learns a thing or two to add to his game before he leaves. What doesn't kill you make you stronger they say. |

#SuperEagles Radar Titbit: Udeh Help Trencin Overcome Zilina Add Comment4 mins agoby Bryan Efe93 Views AS TrencinFutbalreport.sk Share: FacebookTwitterGoogle SLOVAKIA (Fortuna Liga ROUND 29) Trencin 2-1 Zilina Relatively unknown 19 year old Nigerian defender, Maduka Christopher Udeh was on for Trencin till regulation time before he was subbed out for compatriot Abdul Musa Zubairu when the league title holders welcomed Zilina. His imposing presence as a defensive midfielder in the encounter helped Trencin record a comeback win after initially going down to the visitors in the 21’st minute. Trencin did not feature both, Issa Adekunle and Uche Nwofor. Adekunle made the matchday squad, unlike Nwofor . German based football statistics portal, TransferMarkt, lists Maduka Udeh as a natural central defender, who has clocked 814 minutes so far this season, with one goal and an assist to his credits, and has only been booked on one occasion. The GBS Academy product has never been capped by any of Nigeria’s youth national teams. AS Trencin has a tradition of signing Nigerian players. Players who have one time appeared in their roaster include, Kingsley Madu (Waregem), Rabiu Ibrahim(Gent), Samuel Kalu(Gent), Moses Simon(Gent), Aliko Bala(Waregem), Reuben Gabriel (KuPS), and Emmanuel Edward(Dukla Prag). http://spotkik.com/2017/04/28/supereagles-radar-titbit-udeh-help-trencin-overcome-zilina/ |

I know we had this argument a while ago. So my question is was Ndidi discovered during a school competition? I don't believe in class warfare. I strongly believe that every child should be given a chance irrespective of their background. Thank you coach Atuyota. I hope you go on to help more kids irrespective of their background. Lagos Academy Set For N 400 m Windfall From Ndidi ’ s Leicester Move
https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/ndidi.jpg
A Lagos-based football academy Little Wonders FC is set to receive compensation from the transfer of Wilfred Ndidi to Premier League champions Leicester City, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ndidi started out playing organised street football for Little Wonders Football Club under the tutelage of coach Victor Atutoya who decided to start an academy at the Military Cantonment in Ikeja, Lagos to help young kids to recover from the trauma of the Ikeja bomb blast of 2002.
Atutoya oversaw Ndidi's development from the age of seven and Little Wonders FC have been battling for a FIFA-mandated 5% training compensation from the deal that took the Super Eagles midfielder from Genk to Leicester in January.
Little Wonders FC trained Ndidi from a tender age until he joined Nath Boys of Lagos from where he transferred to Belgium. But after enlisting the services of London-based lawyer and with the help of Ndidi, Leicester have agreed to pay Little Wonders what is due them, which is estimated at £850,000 (about N425 million).
Speaking exclusively to Complete Sports, a very excited coach Atuyota thanked Ndidi for remembering his roots and revealed the money will a long way in transforming the club and helping more young kids.
"I'm very very happy, in fact I'm the happiest person on earth right now since we reached an agreement with Leicester City, and it’s good for the club. Wilfred still left some young boys behind and now they're going to benefit from him.
"I thank him for all his efforts in helping us. Now we can afford to buy balls, cones and other training equipment. I appreciate Ndidi for remembering where he came from because it is not all players that make it remember where they are coming from. I pray for him to continue going to higher places."
Referring to Ndidi as his son, Atutoya shared fond memories of the shy young boy who he observed first hand develop from a budding talent to a towering versatile central defender who could also play as a defensive midfielder.
He said: "I started training Wilfred Ndidi from when he was small, when he didn't even know how to wear a boot. He just wanted to play football and gradually he became used to playing with boots.
"We played a match with coach Nduka Ugbade's team at the Ikeja cantonement, our players were very small, especially Ndidi, yet we beat them. Ugbade was so impressed with Ndidi's performance he told me he would like to take him to the Coca-Cola tournament in Owerri. The barracks was like a fence and the boys needed exposure, so I decided it's best for his career to go to the tournament."

It doesn't always apply. Watch and see. tbaba1234: Very few European clubs will offer an NPFL player a contract without trial. Chisom Egbuchulam was the league's best player last year and went through a series of trials before his loan move. Obaje also went on trial.
Many of these clubs do not have scouts watching the NPFL and they do not trust the quality of the league. So, even if you come with your resume as the league top scorer, it weighs little. Even North African sides will offer trial.
Odey should go for the Genk trial. It is an excellent place to start his career if successful. |

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/image-52.jpg
Top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Stephen Odey has turned down an offer of trial from Belgium side Genk in the summer.
Odey was invited by the team for trails in the summer, but the 19 year old who is currently the top scorer in the NPFL with 14 goals for MFM FC rejected their offer.
”He won’t be attending trials anywhere in Europe. Not only in Belgium, we also got offers from Denmark but we won’t take any of them. Genk were most serious but Odey won’t be going for trial”, a source close to the player told Owngoalnigeria.com.
”The one thing I can tell you is that he will most likely leave in the summer. Talks with some teams are already at an advanced stage, unless an offer comes in from Europe, he will most likely move to a top team in Africa.
”His manager has made it clear, he wants to cash in on his form to help him move abroad but at the same time, It’s not just about going abroad, it’s about getting the right deal for the player who still needs to develop further “.

https://i2.dailyrecord.co.uk/incoming/article9664880.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/JS109702076.jpg
Celtic now face a real battle from the English Premier League to secure the signature of KAS Eupen striker Henry Onyekuru.
The highly-coveted 19-year-old was watched by scouts from EPL trio Liverpool , Southampton and Bournemouth during the weekend Europa League play-off match against KV Kortrijk.
Onyekuru bagged his fifth goal in his last four games in the 3-3 draw, to take his season tally to 17 goals in 32 appearances, as the race hots up for the Nigerian.
The Hoops made a bid for the Eupen starlet in January and it's believed he was keen on a move to the Premiership champions, but his club refused to sell, prompting Onyekuru to go AWOL for a few days.
The player recently confirmed he would be leaving the Jupiler League side at the end of the Belgian season and revealed he would announce where he will be plying his trade next, saying: "After the play-off, I will announce my decision.
"I have made my decision to leave. I have already agreed with Eupen that I am joining my new club after this season.
"I want to take the next step and play abroad. My ultimate aim is to one day play in the Premier League .
"There have been many enquiries for me. From clubs in Scotland, England and Germany.
"I am in negotiations right now with clubs.
"I believe I have had my best season, but I want to leave Eupen on a high and I would love to get as far up the table as possible before I leave.
"But it's really been my first season in a major league and I know I still have a lot to learn."
Fellow Belgian side Club Brugge, Borussia Monchengladbach and CSKA Moscow have also been linked with moves for the £6million-rated striker.

I feel you on that. Icon4s: Yeah, very correct.
But a striker being able to dribble adds more to his abilities.
Olivier Giroud comes to mind. In the whole of the EPL I don't think there is any striker that is as good as Giroud in terms of tap-ins and aerial headers in front of goal (maybe except Andy Carrol). But have u ever seen a goal where he takes on a defender one on one to create chance for himself to score. If Giroud had such dribbling abilities like Aguero added to his excellent positioning for tap-ins and headers, no striker for near him in the EPL o.
Immediately I saw Awoniyi's poor dribbling abilities at the U17, I was not sure he would emerge as a lethal striker, sincerely. A player like that maybe suitable for the English game. Could be why Liverpool went after him and sent him on loan to Germany where they don't do much of dribbling but are still very lethal in front of goal.
I wish the young lad all the best anyways. |

I for join this argument. I think "who is a better striker?" will bring more quality debate. then we can look at all their attributes. Dribbling alone is not enough for a striker. Some strikers dribble without any good end product, like good passes or scoring -- that does not help the team in any way. Icon4s: You sure know the boy.
His build up play is excellent. He will always need to play 1-2 touches with a team mate to get over his opponents. But when it comes to facing a defender 1 on 1 he usually falls short.
He is an excellent team player and also good in finishing. But the dribbling skills is not just there. |

Good rating of the players. I think much of his training in Man City has been centered on him developing more as a poacher The three players are signed to clubs in the EPL I think our youngsters should not be too eager to go to the Premier League. The Premier League is unique for its style. Even some great players have failed to adapt to it. Success and Iheanacho will develop better in the Spanish or German league. Now that's another argument. forgiveness: This is how I rate these three players according to their dribbling skills.
1, Isaac Success 2, Taiwo Awoniyi 3, Kelechi Iheanacho
However, in the last match I saw Nacho played he showed flashes of dribbling skills. |

It seems you are sentimental toward's Guardiola in this argument. I've read your posts and your focus have been Iheanacho developing areas he does not posses under Pep. Have you ever wondered why Kelechi has looked uncharacteristically less confident since the arrival of Pep? Something is indeed lacking from Pep. Is that also good for his development? TheGoodJoe: I already put that in context in my forecast. That is why I always stressed that I was more interested in Iheanacho soaking the lessons of Guardiola than playing time. I believe it will benefit him more in the long run than looking for playing time under a coach who will not instill such lessons and Discipline. |

Yes competition can raise the bar. But the fact remains some players are not just in the plans of some coaches. In Pep's case, I think Iheanacho is one of them. TheGoodJoe: I hold and share your fears. Believe me, I am as well conscious of the dicey situation Iheanacho is in. However, we can not close our eyes to the fact that without playing time, we have seen improvement in players screened off the team by Guardiola.
Aguero's recent spike in his team play happened when Guardiola left him out of the team for Gabriel Jesus.
We saw remarkable improvement in Yaya Toure after Guardiola brought him back to the squad
Samir Nasri looked a revelation after Guardiola brought him in as a sub in the second leg play off against Steau Bucharest. So remarkable he got to go to Sevilla, got the ten shirt and became a key player.
Caballero who was awful with his feet before the arrival of Claudio Bravo is now rock solid with his feet and makes picture perfect passes when under pressure.
Fabian Delph is the latest of them.
My point remains that I am interested in the result of working with Guardiola than just game time. Despite Nacho having little to no game time, I have zero doubt that he is developing at a fast rate. When he gets a run, we will tell the difference. |

After the session, the players came over to the fans and spent more than 20 minutes signing autographs and taking selfies.

TheGoodJoe, I will join the masses against you, not because I like to follow the crowd. In fact i'm never scared to be the man to stand for a few or to stand alone. But let truth be told as regards Iheanacho as well. I feel as a coach, when you see a player from day one, you would already decide in your heard if you feel there is something special in him or not. I personally dont think Pep believes in Iheanacho and that will in no way help his development. I think a coach needs to see what is unique and special in a player and also work towards enhancing it especially as it has to do with his playing philosophy. From the start of this Premier League season, I have been singing silently, let Iheanacho go. My song became loud on the arrival of Gabriel Jesus. Pep is not the man for Iheanacho. Simple |

The problem is we relied heavily on Echiejile at LB. When he got injured we had to settle for Oshaniwa who didnt do badly eventually. Same happened at Right Back. As soon as we discovered Balogun, he also got injured before the WC. You see, we deserve to have our best options regardless of age. but the Taiwo I know in his prime is not a good left back IMO. Good Left midfield? yes. In fact I will play that taiwo as a left-wing back in a 3-4-3 formation. Right now, I doubt he can still compete at that level. Humility017: anyone who watched the 2014 world cup matches will agree most of the damages all came from the wings....especially the group phase... and now calling for the inclusion of a left back in his 30s... we still have idowu and others not yet tried..more so I am optimistic Nigeria will go far in next Chan that's an opportunity for inclusion of some home based lads to break into the SE |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:09pm On Apr 14, 2017 |
I think the real question is, what is his current form? can he compete with the available left-backs? We are talking about the national team now. Even SOME 39 year olds can still compete at a high level. komekn: I really have no idea how old Taiwo really is. However, the question is not pertinent. What we should be asking what kind of performances is he able to put in top quality or mediocre.
I remember Taribo West, has there been an older player that played at such a high level for Nigeria. I mean this guy must have been 40+ when he was running down the right wing faster than teenagers amazingly playing for Partizan Belgrade. He was still putting in top performances amazingly.
Now look at Obagoal performance in the MLS and also in the Chinese league, consistent performance.
Yakubu is now taking the biscuit, he must be close to 50 and he cannot perform at all. The issue is performance not age.
But consider not the age but the current performance. For goodness sake how old is Ibrahimovic Yet top goal scorer for United and among top goal scorers in the EPL.
Ndidi is performing wonders but we also know he failed an MRI scan. However it is irrelevant whether he is 19 or 25 he is performing.
If Fortune Chukwudi had not been exposed he would probably be playing in Europe and we don't know how far he could have gone.
If we are to examine all our players who will come away unscathed on this issue of age cheating the majority or a small minority.
So let's forget age. I was talking to a Nigerian international some years ago. Who was complaining to me about boys who he had played with before he left Nigeria. Only to see these players reinvent themselves as young players and come into the SE set up. |

story story story. TheSuperNerd: Nigeria Vs South Africa : Arsenal Chuba Akpom In, China Based Odion Ighalo Out Of AFCON 2019 Qualifiers Tie
https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/image-60.jpg
According to scoops gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial crew, coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has already drawn out names of players who are most likely going to be in the Super Eagles squad for the AFCON 2019 qualifiers tie against South Africa.
We gathered while there are doubts over Ola Aina making the squad as he is yet to fully commit himself to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, his fellow England youth international Chuba Akpom is set to be included in the squad.
Akpom’s inclusion will most likely come at the expense of Chanchung Yatai of China forward Odion Ighalo who has failed to justify his big money move to China from Watford , as he is yet to find the back of the net for his new side in four games.
Ighalo is on a goal drought which stretches back to his time at Watford, as his last goal came on the 10th of September 2016 where he found the back of the net in a 4-2 win for Watford over West Ham.
Although Akpom hasn’t fared any better with no goal in the 8 games he has played for his loan side Brighton & Hove Albion, Rohr views the 21 year old as a future prospect who could end up as one of the leaders of the team than Ighalo whose time with the team is coming to an end.

Aina trained with the Super Eagles in London and even took part in a practice game but according to a top source of the Nigeria Football Federation, the 19 year old is yet to fully commit to Nigeria.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal that England have offered him a spot in their U-20 team to the next World Youth Championship as a bait to lure him away completely from Nigeria , who are reportedly set to cap him next month during their camping exercise in France.
The step taken by England has further delayed Aina from giving the Nigeria Football Federation the go ahead to start processing his switch from England to Nigeria ahead of the test games next month.
