Train evacuated as 'shots heard' Passengers have been evacuated from a Tube train on the Northern Line at Stockwell, south London, after hearing what appeared to be shots being fired. Passenger Briony Coetsee said: "We were on the Tube and then we suddenly heard someone say, 'Get out, get out' and then we heard gunshots." Police are hunting four would-be bombers after Thursday's London blasts. The bombers fled after detonators went off, causing small blasts, but failed to detonate the bombs themselves. |

Aunty HotAngel!! I stand corrected. |
What exctly does Seun mean by a woman's servant? This kind of thot in this age and time? |
People tend to have short memories. Wenger let Anelka go at the height of his career, what happened? In came Henry. Same way, he let Petit and Overmars go at the same time. Who woulda thought Arsenal could survuve that? In my opinion, Arsenal played the better football last season when Vieria was not on the field. I trust Wenger and I wait patiently to see what he will do. Agreed we will miss the agressiveness and leadership but lets see how it goes. |
I do not agree with the notion that Nigerians are half baked. Agreed, educational standard has been falling, but that is for maybe at worst the past 10 years. What about all the Nigerians produced before then? Nigerians happen to be some of the smartest people on this planet and while I agree that human capital is essential, it is definitely not as important as infrastructures. Trains do not even work in NIgeria. If I were to decide to set up a fruit jucing factory, how do I get fruits from the farms in the hinterland to the factory on the coast? Without effective transportation how do you want labour to travel? On the delapidated roads? On broken down molues? If the road networks are good, alternative transport methods are available ,then the road network will not be overworked. It is all well and good saying that small business initiative, but even if the Goverment gave out loans for people, are they going to operate in an isolated environment? Will they not still be regulated by this same stiffling environment. And don't even let me start about capital. The banks should be driving industries by generating loans but then, because of the situation in the country, you and me, cannot leave money on placement with any bank for more than 90 days at most and of course, we do not expect the bank to lend out money for longer then the 90 days they got. Hence the high interest rates on loans. Another way of getting capital in the industrialised countries is the Stock exchange, but most Nigerians prefer to hold on to the company and watch it die rather than allow inflow of much needed capital and ideas. In short, its a multifaceted wahala, but me thinks there cannot be any head way up until the provision of basic things. Goverment has more than enough on their plate. Go back to the basics. Secondary school economics and provide the basic essential factors of production and the country will be able to grow and boom. I dont know where you get the facts that Nigerians are incapable, but that is a very wrong notion.Which Nigerian masses are not educated? I doubt if you'd get to any university anywhere in the world where you wont meet Nigerians both as students and as Lecturers |
My Kanotix box couldnt be much smoother than it is now. Why on earth am I thinking of testting another distro? Beats me. I think I will download the latest Kanotix 2005-03 tonight and give it a twirl. In the mean time, Niggy, I need to be able to print from my kanotix box on to my Promepis box. I know I did it once b4 but I cant for the lif of me, figure how to do it. The Promepis box is on a docking station and runs like a desktop. The printer is connected to it. Both laptops communicate on the network wirelessly. How do I set up the Mepis printer on my Kanotix box? Woulda tried Fedora Coree 4 but the thought of downloading 700 MBs four times is not appealing. If it aint on a 700MB Cd, this cat aint trying it out. |
What drives the American economy to a large extent is the small businesses, the entreprenuer. Unfortunately inNigeria, the environment does not favour setting up a business. If I set up a business in a viable environment, I am an employer of labor, and by employing people, I am providing in essence for several families. That is the multiplier effect. Unfortunately, in a clime of uncertainty, strikes, no fuel, no water, NEPA, how easy is it to set up a business? Unless the economy is allowed to move, by providing neccessary infrastructures, then the future as u rightly predict is very very gloomy. |

Is this not the same Danasco who is saying he has fallen in love with someone over the phone and wants to marry that person? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-818.0.html and he is the same one who toasted a lady and on discovering she is a crippled ran away? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-865.0.htmlv Something is defintely amiss somewhere. Not for me to say, but I think home boy has some serious personality issues. |
