I'll tell you a story. There's this girl who aced all her subjects in secondary school. Not just acing but award-worthy educational success. She was so good that at her Junior Secondary 3 (JSS 3) level, she was solving mathematical problems from Senior Secondary 1 & 2 (SS 1 & 2) curriculum. 1st Mistake She loved Maths & computers but was admitted into the university to study Geology. Today, she still thinks she would have been a computer/statistics wizard if she'd been allowed to just study Math or Computer Engineering. You know - subjects where she doesn't have to always cram some qualitative garbage but provide quantitative solutions. 2nd Mistake When she got into the university, she realized she didn't have to study very hard. Very few people were bothering to anyway. She was extremely smart & could hold her own but it became easier to combine intellectual efforts with other students at assignments, tests & final exams. The system allowed it. All her friends did it so, why fight it? 3rd Mistake While at school, no one ever taught her how to write a résumé or successfully approach interviews. She, just like everyone around her wanted a good life but the system pretty much set them up to fail. When she graduated, she met a professional at an international oil & gas company who asked her what she wanted to do in life & to explain her undergraduate degree experience but she was not prepared for that. She gave answers which were weak, mostly incoherent, lacked precision or clarity. She'd never thought of herself in that light. The internet wasn't readily accessible back then so she was pretty much left on her own with her fellow ignorant peers. She also had a great & supportive family who she leaned on. Luckily for her, she got some mentors, then left the country for her masters degree. At 1st, she struggled at her Canadian university. Correcting her 2nd mistake She had to actually learn all those skills & resources she didn't bother with back in Nigeria due to combined students’ efforts. She had to read all those textbooks she never bothered with in her Nigerian university in order to excel at her program. Correcting her 3rd mistake She also met lecturers whose method of teaching was about empowering students to run with their ideas. It wasn't about multiple choice questions but making a case of why Case A is better/worse than Case B. It made her actually think for the 1st time in her life. She learned how to make great presentations. It was a confidence boost. It was exhilarating! She learned about plagiarism which is a very despicable thing. She also learned about self-development, professional development & presentations. She learned it was ok to make decisions, make mistakes & then learn from them. She became comfortable working alone & also with a team. She learned the power of independence. She was a different person. She became more confident about her thoughts & ideas. No one laughs at her mistakes nor condemns her for them. Her bosses don't care about always being right or barking orders at those under them. Team contributions is crucial, encouraged & needed. Everybody is equal. No one feared anyone. It was a healthy environment. She was valued. She freely runs her program the way she sees fit. This is a story of a lady I read on quora. there's no correcting my 1st mistake, she said. If I ever do, I'll tell a story about it. Her First Mistake was her greatest mistake which she believed cannot be corrected or at least had been so late given her achievements and age. While I see her reasons, I'm inclined to say swiftly that some have been there and were able to find themselves back to their dreams. If you asked them how they were able to do that, they would say, well we realized that it's never too late to do or not do anything so we retraced our steps back from where we started our journey. It's simple but it takes COURAGE! You on the other hand now have the privilege to change and reshape your future, and embrace your passion for the better before you term it as being "too late", Why don't you take it? What could be more important? Don't you know that realising your passion at this stage is an opportunity which will bring open doors. Chimamanda would say "just try", so why don't you try. If you read this, you'd understand how the Nigerian system encourages laziness & might discourage talent because of envy, pride and incompetent scholars. Many Nigerian graduates are victims of their own underdeveloped & redundant society. Pascal, Assembly language, VB and Fortran didn't help us because they were outdated even before we began our journey so don't find comfort in them. Strive to acquire new trends and you will never regret taking this bold step. Maybe with the internet, a few might self-improve. Otherwise, they're unemployable because there's very few competent people to teach and direct them better. Note to any Nigerian student reading this - don't take the easy way out. Read not just to pass your examinations but to actually know and don't rely on only what you are being thought in college. You'd be truly a better person & student for it. Good luck |

To y'all saying it wasn't rape, I charge you to tell the world what it was then? 10 men RAPED a 14 year old girl and you call it "having sex" just because the girl agreed to it. For god sakes, she's a minor! Shame on you! Shame on y'all for not considering this action as an abomination! Shame on you for blaming this minor! Shame on you for being part of the desecration done to this minor, Yes! I said it, you contributed to the rape! Posterity will forever judge you! |

tolulope222:Allow. Webcam literally uses your front camera. |
Plan the wedding with your fiancee. If she's matured and willing to live with you forever, then 1mil will do to an extent. The fact you are the one bringing out the money doesn't make it "your" wedding alone. I tell you the truth, if you really want to marry her according to ngwa people traditional standards and do your white wedding on separate days, that money won't do anything not unless you are planning to celebrate with 5-6 persons as some people suggested. Plan with her and she may clear the runway(talking to her parents) ahead of your arrival. She may not say how she would help but know this, they all help especially when it comes to having a partner that is not from Ngwa. That's a secret they wouldn't want me to share, I hope you explore it. PS. As much I love all the comments for this thread, suffice it to say that not even one person has had real experience with ngwa people and their marriage traditions like I do. if they did, they would be inclined to tell you that they are almost similar to mbaise people when it comes to LIST. tolulope222:Of course you can. As a matter of fact I used my phone, just make sure you have the latest version of the browser you are using installed preferably chrome. |
The video isn't real time only. There are two options to choose from, either you upload from your device(already made) or that of real time (capturing from web). The questions for the video are there on the video section so you will definitely see it as soon as you are done with your assessment and before you move to decide the option to choose from. Also, there's already a sample video to guide us on how and what is expected of us |
To answer some questions here 1) For those that applied to wema 2018 graduate trainee recruitment but are yet to receive any mail from either Wema or getqualified, I'd suggest you sign-up from getqualified website and do the test, upload the video, and then click on jobs to apply for wema graduate trainee. If finally they sent the test link to your mail, then kudos, you have already done it. If they didn't, you still have nothing to lose. Either way, you are safe! 2)If you are having any trouble uploading photo or video or cv, carefully read the instructions on each page to determine the size, format, pixel etc for each document. Ensure that you are using the latest version of chrome. You can do the test from your mobile phone or pc. While writing the test, ensure you are in a quiet and clear background and a position where your camera would capture your face for each section of the test. Also check for the invigilating score while writing to see how good you are doing. At any time you get interrupted, you can still sign in to start off from where you left. 3) The test questions are fair so we all should be able to attempt it. The video however was something else for me. I had to cram seeing that I only had 2min:30sec to answer 5 interview questions, so there was no time to gamble and ramble for words. Remember, the timing is same for everyone. I'd advise you practice again and again. I wish us well. PS. Video size should be less than 100mb and the length shouldn't exceed 2min:30sec |
cimhog:Non that I know of. Still looking forward to receiving their success mail |

Amongst those that got fidelity bank interview invite, I'd like to say congratulations and success and I would also like to ask if anyone submitted a Statement of result as original certificate during the documentation process? |
cimhog:No,I haven't. And I'm sure that they have not started sending out success mail as at the time of this reply. Nevertheless, when I saw those numerical questions after being told not to use the system's calculator, I was totally taken adrift. I call it SAVAGE! |
digitalbabalawo:It was good. Questions were generally hardware and networking. Anyways, I just got a success mail from their HR to undergo a month training with them. Of course it's not a job offer but a requirement amongst many should they consider to hire you. Who knows what their pay is like? |

If I may, beside getting the interview date late, a lot of applicants tend to know more about the company and the job responsibilities they applied for after receiving their invitation. After deliberating on the job conditions and requirements, they might decide not to come especially when the job type is of contract, a sales position or the company's reputation and salary don't suggest less of the phrase "work more, pay less". Apart from having a job that pays well (not exceptional), how would you describe the rate of career growth and development in your company? Let's face it, being in a position for more than 3 years doesn't say much about one's career, does it? In conclusion, there maybe a number of personal reasons for not showing up for an interview but majority always come from considering the company's reputation. |
Oh my poor president! Yet he had another controversial educational conquest hopping on his distraction. It's like deja vu all over again. |
FroshD:Now that was helpful enough. Thank you and I wish you success |
FroshD:Was it just the numerical and verbal aspect that you took? On their test practice site, I saw the two plus others such as inductive, deductive reasoning etc |
Luvantidote:https://www.cebglobal.com/shldirect/en/practice-tests NB:- This is the link to their practice tests . |
Luvantidote:Yes! but it's practice not test |
I have devoutly tried the verbal reasoning practice test like 6 consecutive times, each of which my score were not less than 19 but not more than 22. I have cautiously in spades tried to change my answers which for some reason hasn't been forthcoming at least not to my taste. And for every option I chose over another after my first and second practice, I now realized that it was either I had replaced a wrong answer with a correct one or a correct answer with a wrong one and more but not both. My point being "IT'S CAUSING ME STRESS wt little or no impact ". Your views would be highly appreciated PS. ..I have always had my way with Maths and English but focused more on the former than the later. And this is not because of my passion for Maths but because I thought maths was more important than English. Now, I'm feeling totally adrift! |
UniTracka:Search for Nigerian Navy Recruitment portal on your facebook search dialog box and send them a private message (please do not comment and ask questions on their wall because they won't reply) and you will get your reply. By the way, someone asks if another ID card other than national ID card could be used. The answer is yes as long as it is a government card Thanks guys. ..This thread has been helpful |
