How did you come up with 2.3 BTW? Use WES and you stand a chance of getting a GPA higher than 2.7/4.0

I read sometimes ago that Wright State University do have an issue with the Department of Homeland Security. It's a fraud allegation. You might want to check that up and maybe avoid the school.

Hi everyone, thanks for all your advice on the above quote. I decided to go for my interview the next day even without the SEVIS receipt. I hope this narration and the transcript below will assist someone with this type of issue. Also, if you have paid your sevis through check or money order and it hasn't reflected on the website before your interview date and you are unable to cancel/reschedule, just go for the interview like that. They won't refuse you at the entrance if you explain that you have paid but its not showing yet.
OK..enough of the long story, here is the transcript..(the interview was quite short)

VO: Pass me your passport please.....
Me: (I pass my passport)
VO: where are you heading to?
Me: I'll be heading to the University of Utah, for Doctorate studies in Biochemistry
VO: Can I see your I-20
Me: Yes please (Pass I-20)
VO: How will you fund your studies
Me: Graduate fellowship
VO: OK..so did you take like the GMAT..GRE?
Me: I took the GRE and TOEFL
VO: So what will you be doing?...Teaching?..
Me: Mostly Lab work, however, I have a compulsory semester of teaching.
VO: Do you have a supervisor yet?
Me: Not yet, though I have someone in mind but the program allows 1st yr PhD students to carryout 3lab rotations where they can get to know prospective supervisors before they go into full agreement or choose their supervisor..
VO:..OK..so have you paid your SEVIS..
MEI was a bit carried away)....NO....ow sorry, I have paid for SEVIS, but its yet to reflect on the website so I can't print a receipt...I paid on the X of July...ow sorry twas on the X of June�
VO: OK..give me a minute let me check the other platform if its showing there.....So its not showing yet...but it would eventually show..so what we would do is...you'll check online from now till Friday and when its showing, print the receipt and take your passport to any of the DHL offices in this white slip...you do not need to come back to the consulate....we'll issue the visa when we get your receipt and passport. Do you understand??

....and as I got home in the evening, the SEVIS payment confirmation mail came in�..

House, please i made mistake when booking for another appointment, i chose regular and it gave me July 11 at lagos. I was previously refused in june...please what can i do.. ?? I didn't realize until i told someone who wondered how i got another date so fast the we checked my appointment details and its regular that is there... I have already booked it. I'm so confused right now..

Cancel the appointment and book a new one. That's if you haven't rescheduled or scheduled appointment twice using that MRV receipt number.

Perhaps your uncle doesn't want you to be successful. Even the Lincoln University (the red flag school) at Oakland won't fit into your budget. Do you know how much it cost to live in California alone? Your $10k is a mess.

Use that $10k to write GRE and TOEFL, apply to as many schools as possible, pay for SEVIS fee and schedule a visa appointment.
Don't rush it.. America no dey run.
Anyways, you're free to shove that petty advice back in my face...

It's alright. What I suspect might be wrong is your information on your Ds-160. Apart from that, maybe your composure during the interview was weak or you're not giving us a transparent story.

Way forward? Yes, you can reapply but make sure you do a little assignment on why you were refused.

As it stands, I have GTA Position covering my tuition with monthly stipend and my uncle pays the rest.

I am in between decision whether or not to make my 3rd application. Be detailed with your thoughts/suggestions please, whether harshly or kindly provided it passes your message.

Brief:
1st application.
I first applied using SJU Spring 2019 and got denied. Here, no funding, my uncle (different surname) had a functional statement of account that I used. I think I was denied here because as part of my sponsor, I put a friend in the US (medical doctor for that matter) which weakened my ties to Nigeria (as I was told later on though)

2nd application.
Just 2days ago another denial. I answered all questions well as I often got responsive nodding of the Window 6 woman until I was asked why I changed schools from SJU (as in my previous application) to IUP (in my new application). I never expected that and all I could say was IUP gave a me a GTA as against no funding from SJU. Someone suggested to me to have talked about research and my concentration like that.

3rd application.
Do you think I should apply again?
If yes, what possible questions should I expect for a third time application?

Yes, reapply. You don't want to waste the funding. Your reason for switching school is LEGIT, the VO wasn't just pleased. Can you give a run down of your finances? How much is your GTA? How much is left as deficit for your uncle to offset?

Yes. You can send it for free as fax. Pay for the evaluation, get your reference number and you're good to go.

The reference number is very important, if you send anything without it, it's a waste of money and time.

There's an option for you to change your location on the Ds-160 if you haven't submitted.

You've used your chance. You can only reschedule once... If you want a closer date, the best bet is to cancel that appointment and pay another MRV fee.

The key to this hustle is don't stop looking till you get what you want. Leave family out of this,fend for yourself first... If you get a fully funded admission, I'm certain those fams would be proud of you too. Don't limit yourself bro.

As God liveth, you can get a FULLY FUNDED admission with that profile. I'm serious. Just make google your friend and always reach out to professors. Disturb their life.. I say that a lot. Knock until you break those door hinges. Nothing is bad in wishing your potential supervisor a merry Christmas or whatever celebration it is. Just use your resources wisely bro.

Do you know your letter of recommendations can open doors for you? Make sure you trust who recommends you... A professor can write "he's God fearing and honest" - a paragraph LOR and you expect to get funded with that? If it's possible, let them draft and let you cross check before they send it.

I see you get a better offer bro. Don't limit yourself!

3.3/7 UI Geology?! That GPA is around 2.9-3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Something ain't enticing on your application packet or maybe you didn't target schools that match you profile. There's something we call Ambitious, Moderate and Safe... Last 60 hours? What did you have?
