hello guys ! good afternoon, i've been a silent reader of this forum and ive read many of the transcripts here, however most of them do not fit my own case, i will like specific advisory for what direction I should be prepared for a visa interview being admitted as a credit transfer student in Energy economics, University of central oklahoma, graduated with a B.Sc in geology, December 2016, finished NYSC in 2018, wrote GRE (311)and TOEFL(94) couldnt secure a masters admission from university of oklahoma in energy economoics last year , then reapplied for credit transfer (more like direct entry here in Nigeria), and secured admission for fall 2019. ive paid half my tution, and i have funding for the full fees available in my father's SOA,
PS: im applying for only oklahoma schools because i have family there, which reduces many costs
That's a very cheap move. With those scores...

If I cancel the appointment, wont it require that I pay a new fee to book a new appointment? Just asking
Obviously! With what you have at hand rn, you probably need to cancel the appointment. Doesn't look like the person paid. Monday till now is a week already without any public holiday(s). Confirm with the person and what payment mode the person used.

Thank you very much. I'm not seeing the option for reschedule on the platform. I dont know if its already late to reschedule since the interview is for tomorrow
Rescheduling is only allowed 24 hours before biometrics. Another option is to cancel the appointment or go there tomorrow and explain why your SEVIS payment is yet to reflect. You can only hope now.

Yes. I am aware of that. The circumstances wasn't favorable for such a thing at the time. Besides, I am home now. So, I just need advice in the next steps please.
Thank you.

For those asking for a clearer picture:
1. I spent 1 semester in school
2. I informed the school about my intentions before I left.
3. I left ASAP, so I didn't have any days of illegal presence.
4. I am not going back to the same school
5. I am aware that I could have transferred, but I didn't. I know, my bad. I just can't begin to explain the circumstance.

So, please help a sister out
Let me link your case with this- If anyone has their visas approved for Lincoln University and after the interview, they got a better offer from let's say Gatech, it's always advisable to reapply for a new F1 visa. So, in your case, if you want to pick an OPT option later in the future, it's advisable that you reapply for the visa. I hope you find this helpful.

Auditmonkey:
No. The school didn't refuse to transfer my SEVIS, I did not initiate the SEVIS transfer process at all because I didn't have admission to the schools I wanted to transfer to. I came home way before school was back from break, I informed the school what I was doing and I came back home. No illegal days or anything. I made sure of that
You could have applied as a transfer student instead of coming to Nigeria.

No, It was not requested. Although, the VO had perused the I-20
Well, I think you could have submitted it. The VO who interviewed you might not be the one who got your documents from DHL. I don't know how they run the stuff but I think the reason for your refusal is a "misconception". The person/people who reviewed the SOAs feel the closing balance won't be enough - not knowing you had a scholarship.

My thinking BTW. You can reapply bro.

10th June,2019

VO: Why did you choose this school?
i: I chose GSU for three reasons
First, the School offer program on human rights and social work within International & Domestic contest
Second, the school have education exchange program that allow me to learn from top social agency
Third, I was awarded scholarship which cover Tuition for the program

VO: What would this program do for you?
i: It will enable me to take offer from top organization that provides aids/reliefs for IDP
VO: Did you apply to other schools?
i: Yes
VO: Mention them
i: OU & UNCG
VO: How do you intend to sponsor your program?
i: I was awarded scholarship that covers Tuition
VO: I can see some deficit here
i: Yes, other expenses are to be sorted by my uncle and from my personal savings
VO: Starring at the SOA
i: I quickly mentioned the name of my uncle
VO: you will need to provide Six months of SOA for all accounts, as one of the SOA was printed in March
i: I will do the needful
VO: I hope you know that you will be ban to enter US if you provide fake documents
i: Sure, I know
VO: issued yellow paper and asked re-submit 6 months( end in May) submit original SOA to DHL

THE ISSUES
I had deficit of $20k
Uncle account $ 20.2k
My account $1k as at May end, while i submitted account till June 9 which is around $7k

VISA REFUSED

I would like to change sponsor since the account may not
What are best ways to re-fire

Many thanks.
Did you submit your I-20 with the SOAs?

Visa denied yesterday ... Lagos
My third time ... just one question

Typing for a long time
Vo : what have chance in you ?
me : Fully prepared than before
Vo : sorry , you are ineligible for visa this time
Sorry about your refusal bro. I did a little check on you and I sincerely don't see any changes on your application. You used the same school for Fall 18 and Spring 19 and I'm thinking you used this same school for Fall 19. It doesn't work that way.

Also, you stated that your uncle sent you an invite even though you're going for study. You need to review your uncle's status in the US before you choose to claim him on your Ds-160 (that's if you've included him).

And another thing is your age. You're almost 40 according to you and we don't know if you're going for a Masters program or bachelor's. These are the little loops I've discovered, others might discover more. However, nothing is impossible, you should take some time off the process now and work on a better admit with perhaps a funded offer.

You will get there surely. Get things right and have a convincing application on your next. Have a great day.

Bless.

Brown2Green:
Hope you know the obvious reason for your denial?

Obviously you weren't divorced when he was going. He used you as home tie then all of a sudden you're coming with a different status.

A lot of married men have changed their status this way by divorcing their wives back here and getting married to an American and the VO is very much aware of this.

So it is a very difficult one here. You have to pray you come across a VO that will ask for documents to back up your point. You're his home tie.
Did you read what she wrote on the previous page? They both travelled together and he wanted to overstay but she kicked against it. She returned to Nigeria and worked on the divorce.

No be everyone be intending immigrant.

Even if she doesn't. The husband must have included her in his DS 160 as his wife. So there is no way she can avoid that question. I don't think they are legally divorced since the husband has been in the USA.
It's a big deal bro. Everyone's case is unique.
They should divorce legally and document it... if that won't be too late though. Also, the man might have gone with a short B1 and have overstayed his visa. Several things come to play here bro. She can only hope.

Hi Guys!

I've been a silent reader but I thought to share my experience

Visa was denied at the US Consulate Lagos

My transcript goes thus:

VO: Pass me your Passport, I-20, SEVIS

Me: Passes documents

VO: How did you get the scholarship?

Me: A culmination of my application - competitive GRE Score, Quality work experience, stellar recommendations and an impressive interview experience

VO: (looks impressed)...I can see your husband has been in the US for the past one year. Care to explain why?

Me: We are divorced, He is my ex-husband.........

VO: Sorry, you do not qualify for the visa...blah blah and hands me the pink slip

Me: Walks away feeling super-dejected

(Please note; My total funding was $75,594 per Annum = $151,188 for two years)
I'm sorry about your refusal... Truth be told, you shouldn't have mentioned him on your Ds-160 when y'all aren't together anymore . However, make sure you include it on the next Ds-160 cos it's a big deal already.
In fact, there are several things to be considered .
Just hope for a VO that'll overlook that.

If you have any MasterCard (the credit card stuff doesn't matter) , try to use that. GTbank works most of the time without hitch and that's why people recommends it.

Your university information is perfect. If you read the instructions while filling that part, you won't be asking again lol. They stated that you should fill the details of any post secondary institution you've attended. So don't sweat it bro.

Good day to y'all
Had my visa interview with an old white man in d widow close to the entrance on the 10th of dis month, and i was denied, am going for an undergraduate study, got my TOEFL, BS, and all
Here is my transcript,

Me: good morning
Vo: good morning (with an angry face)
Vo:Pass me ur I-20
Me: I did
Go: when did u finish high school ( didn't even check my I-20 if it was an undergraduate study, or if am going to US self)
Me: I finished high school year 2017( am currently 19 years old)
Vo: what have u been doing since
Me: I am currently a 2nd year university student in uniben studying entrepreneurship ( guess dis is were I bleeped up).
Vo: why nt continue here
Me: firstly d strike it has really been slowing my education so my dad made a decision for me to go study in d U.S,( d man said there has nt been any strike, didn't give me time to complete my response, he just cut me and was typing)
Vo: sorry I can't grant u ur visa, go and finish in uniben with an angry tone, I took d pink paper almost forgot my passport sef, he denied d first 3 people in front of me.

So pls guys, were did I go wrong, am going for an undergraduate management degree in isu, d school resumption date is in Aug,planning to fire back.

And if I am to fill my ds-160 again, I want to remove d part dat say I am currently in d university is it advicible , pls I need u guys help
Sincerely, that VO wants the very best for you. He knows what it takes to school in America and he just saved you a whole lot with that refusal. Like he rightly advised, finish from UNIBEN and get your stuffs together to target good programs for Masters/PhD.

Also, you can use this opportunity to your advantage. You already know about these stuffs and what you should start doing now is to develop yourself and be prepared for the challenge ahead. If you don't like the course you're studying now, I believe you can still change your course to a more marketable one.

Lastly, don't tweak anything on your Ds-160... It will make the process more difficult for you. Relax bro, close your eyes and open it- you are done with university. If you make a bad decision now, you'd find it painful when your mates are graduating eventually. So use this refusal as a driving force to build that GPA, take leadership roles, network with one or two of your professors and write journals and publications, read about American colleges too(it would give you insight and for sure, you'll know where to put your application fees). I am certain you'll find the admission and visa process very seamless by then. I wish you the very best on your pursuit.

Jesus loves you too.

Best!!

Guys I know y’all conveniently avoided my question here because I said I needed quick assistance, fair enough I don’t own any of you hence why I was ignored
But at least the 2nd part of my request could be answered which is regarding the bank statement to be presented
Original shipped in from USA or a printout of a scanned original which can easily be confirmed by the consulate
For booking your appointment, PM me

For the bank statement, either way is fine... If you have an officially stamped copy couriered to you, it's better.

Thank you ! I am currently preparing hard for GRE so as soon as I have that I can now start applying writing July 23 . I applying for spring next year .

I am hopeful that I will get full funding , with a Good score and statement of purpose .

I want to apply to only four schools ,but first time is to smash my GRE score .

What other uni do you suggest I also apply to ?
Oh well, academic calendar in the US starts basically in July, which is for the Fall.. This means every annual budgets are prepared during that period.

So, your plans to apply for Spring might not favor you enough to get a FULL funding that's even if you get a partial. That being said, my little advice for you is to take a chill and start mailing professors now against Fall 2020. However, if you're a very STRONG candidate, a potential supervisor can maneuver protocols for you to have you in his/her lab/dept. Nothing is impossible my brother.

Best!

Hey girl !

I am like 3weeks old here . Please can you guide me just the way Texrem helped you ?

Firstly what was your GRE score ?

What materials did you use ?

I wrote a graduate coordinator in a university I intend to apply to and he said if I need to get 163 in quant . For an MSc in mechanical engineering

I don’t have money for tuition so I am in need for full funding .
Get good scores on your GRE and apply to University of Tennessee Knoxville.
Apply very early. My 2 cents.

Visa denied yesterday 7/6/2019, Window 5
VO: Where are you going to in US
Me: University of New Mexico, Alburqurque, NM
VO: For what purpose
Me: To pursue a doctoral degree in Statistics
VO: What will this degree do for you
Me: It will give me a better chance of getting a lecturing job here in Nigeria at my Alma mata and also will be able to conduct meaningful research.
VO: Did you write any standardized exam
Me: Yes………….. Toefl: 92, GRE 302 ( wanted to show her but she said I should not bother)
VO: Any scholarship? (she rushed to check I-20)
Me: Yes Partial scholarship
VO: ok…..so who’s paying for the remaining
Me: My uncle, Mr……
VO: (Typed for some seconds) Am sorry, you are not eligible for Visa now

Total cost: 36,512
Funding: 12,082
Deficit: 24,430
I'm sorry about the delay. Mail your grad coordinator on Monday or your assigned supervisor and request for an assistantship position. If you're lucky enough to get one coupled with your $12k scholarship, you'll have a full funding. You should be fast and persistent about it so you can refire for Fall 19... If they don't reply you, shoot them another mail... Also, check other departments apart from yours for any openings... as a prospective PhD student, you shouldn't find it difficult to get a GA position.

Draft a convincing mail and I wish you the very best my buddy. Have a pleasant weekend.

If there won't be consular activities that day, they'll mail your relative to reschedule for him/her. The person doesn't need to do the rescheduling, they'll fix a spot.
