Fearlez: leave that village fool to keep claiming bridge when Anambra state has the worse erosion-ravaged land in the entire nation.
Let's learn something in Nigeria, we can always make our points without insulting. Lets just state our points and move on please no more insults. Peace.
Malawian: It is not this one. This is a recent installation by perhaps the Delta State Government. The F.G own is still further behind this very one. and no where close to the bridge in question.
The sign has always been there, it used to be rectangular in shape it got defaced and was replaced. The one on the anambra side is pretty new too. I live in the south east but I am from delta state. So i pass there very often.
Malawian: There is a Federal Government Installed signpost at the F.G defined border between both states, this border is well before the bridge. Infact, the place you will see it will leave you with more questions than answers.
Can you show me a picture of the federal government sign post you are talking about ?
Malawian: Go and see the Federal Government Installed Signpost. Like i have said, Anambra state did not concern itself with the "Anambra part" of Delta state, and that is why you see those Anambra government installed signposts before the headbridge at Onitsha. According to the signpost you posted, does it then mean that all of the bridge is now in delta state since you have departed from Anambra State.
Let me educate you further, the Federal Government did not install a sign post on the bridge. It was HERO BEER that wrote "welcome to onistsha" at the Asaba end of the bridge.
Malawian: Oga, the Federal Nigerian Government defined boundary between both state started well before the head bridge. Take a trip down there, you will still see the Federal Government installed signpost that signaled the end of delta and the beginning of Anambra state, and it is well before the head bridge. You will still see other signpost (by individuals and others) after the said FG boundary and well before the head-bridge which are clearly labelled "Anambra State".
Your fare well from Anambra state is even before the bridge on the onitsha side. So should i say Asaba started from the headbridge on the onitsha side.
The bridge cuts across both states. The boundary between the two states is the River Niger. It is a federal government bridge connecting the two towns. "Welcome to Anambra state" is by Ojukwu's statue once you get down from the bridge in onitsha.
AsomughaChuks05: No. The whole bridge is on Anambra soil. That's why it is called Niger Bridge Onitsha.
That's not true, part of the bridge is at Asaba. But the people the delta end call it Onitsha bridge because it leads to Onitsha. The real name of the bridge is Niger Bridge.
AsomughaChuks05: That bridge, the whole length of it, is on Anambra soil.
A part of the bridge is in Onitsha while the other part in Asaba.
The Anambra state government built a barricade at the Asaba end of the bridge so the Asaba youths got angry and dismantled it. The barricade has now been installed at the Onitsha end of the bridge.
It is difficult to restrict people from moving between the two towns because a lot of people live in Onitsha while their offices and businesses are at Asaba and vice versa.
amaifehenry: The Popular Ogbogongo Market, Asaba is on Fire. The inferno which started last night has destroyed properties and worth millions of naira.
tesseract: Honestly, the degrees in Cotonou are next to fake. They can be bought at prices ranging from 120k upwards. It's sad that FFK has no idea of the schools location or orientation. Most of them are not even in the nysc portal, they bribe people in Abuja to send their students for service. It's a shame.
That school is a one building school. They dont even have a functional website. The vice chancellor claims to have a Phd but searching for him online brings back nothing.
SeriouslySense: Now we have so many interesting shows, seasons, i remember the first emotional season show was lost, but with a terrible end, and I like the song downtown by Petula Clark.
Lost is still my favorite series of all time. The song down town was when john Locke's mom was dancing right ?
It is a kiddies book, used to teach kids on sex education.
He also wrote a book for teens titled "Will I Like It?": Your First Sexual Experience, What to Expect, What to Avoid, and How Both of You Can Get the Most Out of It, photographs by John Thornton, Corwin, 1977.
TheGodlessGod: Every state should power their own region. Akwa ibom, river, Delta,Lagos should be able to have 24 hours light if not for the northern region draining it.
Restructure this country
Only Kainji and Ughelli power stations powered the whole country in the 1960's to 1970's. Nigeria had a lesser population then also.
Yujin: You're a poor historian and very bad debating. If Onitsha was formed by the Benin Prince, won't the Bini royal courts have a record for confirmation of that Prince? Benin city was the capital of an empire which had different tribes including Igbos residing there as at that time. If you ignore the fact that all the names he listed were all Igbos, I'll write you off too.
So you are a better historian than the great Zik of Africa.
