Bro, being an alpha is not easy. Sometimes you need advice from fellow Alphas and not simps.. i dont know but it seems youre a simp wink
An alpha male is a man who takes charge, one who imposes his will on others, not the other way round. Other men want to be him, women want to be with him. An alpha male intimidates, he's unquestionably in charge, no matter what the situation

I wish her all the best.
I remember this crash.
I was in secondary school then and so many students from Loyola Jesuit weren't so lucky.
FFK was the aviation minister then and despite the billions allocated to improve the safety and performance of that industry, FFK did not achieve a single thing.
Its easy for FFK to open his dirty mouth to criticize the current administration and abuse/insult journalists and his wives but lets not that this guy actually has blood on his hands. So many plane crash happened in his tenure because he would rather look the other way and accept kick backs while the aviation industry suffered.
FFK was not minister of aviation in 2005 na.
Babalola Borishade was the minister of aviation in 2005, FFK didn't record a plane crash during his time as Minister of Aviation. I don't like the guy though

ANd you believe Nigeria police ? super wozzy doesn’t smoke and non of the boys do, stop promoting police injustice and brutality under the guise of fighting crime, Nigeria police brought just a blunt outside, in the police station, not the point of arrest, in a car with 3 occupants and for the charms, what’s wrong with it? Are Catholics and Muslims persecuted cause of their rosary ?

*There’s no law against smoking unless you’re fund with one in commercial quality with the intention to distribute to the public
It’s illegal to possess or use cannabis in Nigeria, in accordance with the Dangerous Drugs Act. This law specifically lists ‘Indian Hemp’ as a dangerous drug, stating that the term refers to “any plant or part of a plant of the genus cannabis”.

The Indian Hemp Act further clarifies the situation – stating that possession of the substance is an offence, which can be punished with “imprisonment for a term of not less than four years”. However, if the offender is seventeen or under, the sentence is adjusted to 21 strokes of the cane, plus two years in a borstal or similar institution, or a fine of N200.

Individuals can also be prosecuted for possessing equipment associated with the usage of cannabis (for example, a smoking pipe). If caught, they could be given a prison sentence of not less than five years.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: State Civil Service Job Or Multinational Company Job? Which One Is Advisable? by johnpablo541(m): 1:21pm On Sep 24, 2020
SeedofAbraham:
Good morning Nairalanders,

I've been having sleepless night recently as I've been confused in decision making due to the fact that I'm not well experienced about Job matters.

I presently got an offer at a State Public Service with GL 8 Salary Scale of 63k+ monthly (though it's poor) but with a rest assured constant Promotion every 3 years subject to success in Promotion Exercise. There's also hope that in the next 18 years, I'll get to the Directorate levels (GL 15 - 17) where the Pay Structure seems better with Jumbo rise compared to the poor salary structure of GL 7 - 14... Meaning that I'll have to endure till then before enjoyment start coming. Please note that in addition to Promotion every 3 years, this State Public Service don't owe workers salary as they pay in due time as we all know that Public Service has Job Security. Also, I hope by God's Grace that I become a Permanent Secretary if I decide to choose this path while enduring the Salary (I can switch to Federal Parastatals if the Job Offer comes up later though).

On the other hand, I'm about to get a Full time Staff offer from a Multinational Company (Headquarter is based in the US) with more than 120k Salary for a start. There's Career growth and the chance of living comfortably & enjoying life is cool compared to the State Public Service in terms of Salary. We all know that Private Organisations can decide to lay off workers at any time as there's no Job Security. Also, I don't know if Multinational Companies usually lay off only Contract Staff or they can decide to lay off Permanent Staff as well... Though, the Multinational Company have a Pension Scheme for their Staff & didn't lay off workers during this COVID-19 Pandemic as they were operating during the lockdown since they provide essential services.

I wasn't born & brought up with a Silver Spoon and I never pray to struggle in life henceforth as Poverty must die. I'm a Second Class Upper graduate with proven abilities and outstanding performance as I'm a Problem Solver.

I need the assistance of experienced Nairalanders as your advice and point of views with detailed explanations will be highly appreciated.
120k for a start in a multinational company? Even contact staffs earn much more than that.

TravelRe: Arik Air To Be Renamed Nigeria Eagle by johnpablo541(m): 4:39am On Sep 16, 2020
Enwhen:
What happened to Arik air ?, Why is the govt taking it over ??, ... I don't understand ?
While his beleaguered airline was accumulating over a hundred billion naira in debt, compelling a government takeover with taxpayers’ money, the founder of Arik Air, Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide, sat on vast wealth in real estate, company stocks and other properties stashed around the world, a PREMIUM TIMES’ investigation has revealed.

Belaboured by increasing debts including N135 billion owed to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), the Nigerian government in February 2017 stepped in, sacked the airline management, and appointed a new one for a carrier that prides itself as the country’s largest commercial airline.

Less than two months after the government-appointed management took charge, it revealed that the airline was in a worse financial situation than previously thought.

The receiver manager for Arik, Oluseye Opasanya, told a Federal High Court in Lagos that Arik’s total debt was N375 billion.

Mr Opasanya said some of the claims the new management received included €31 million was owed to the Lufthansa Technik Group, $6.5 million owed to aviation authorities in West Africa, and N418.89 million unpaid insurance policy. The Airline also owed Zenith and Access Banks N28.347 billion.

The airline’s other creditors were Amadeus Marketing Nigeria (N632. 49 million), Marriot and Best Western Hotels (N3. 8 million), undocumented bank loan (N2 billion), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (N11. 21 billion), Export Development Canada ($53.43 million), Sky Enterprises LLC ($30 million), FAAN ($942.14 million) World Fuel Services Inc ($26.55 million) and a loan from one Arthur Ezenwa ($2.5 million).

Mr Opasanya added that Arik owed the United States Internal Revenue Service and the United States Customs $987,170 and $311,888 respectively.

Arik also violated Section 4 of the Pension Reform Act 2014 by failing to remit funds deducted from its employees’ salaries plus its own 10 per cent contribution to their retirement saving accounts, he said.

Multiple sources who worked at the airline said the former management did not remit their pension contribution to their Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) up to at least 65 months between 2010 and 2016. According to the airline’s appointed receiver, its unpaid pension obligation was N4.59 billion.

You can't graduate from this same school and be normalhuh
Most of the students live off-campus.
The female hostels are in better shape.
Portable water supply is a problem in Nsukka and sometimes the students have to go off campus to fetch water.

I once saw cleaners fetch water from the water fountain close to the VC's office to go clean the VC complex.

It is going to get worse when the school resumes because most of the male students make use of the bush to relieve themselves and the bushes around the hostel premises are now construction sites as new hostels are being built but they won't be ready till 5 years time.

IF ONLY YOU ARE A LITTLE BIT EDUCATED AND INFORMED, YOU WOULD AV KNOWN THAT UNN IS A FEDERAL UNIVERSITY - MEANNING ITS WHOLLY OWNED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

AND UNLIKE ITS COUNTERPARTS LIKE ABU, OAU, UI, UNIMAID - UNN HAS BEEN STARVED OF FUNDS AND MAINTENANCE FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS.

GO CHECK THE EDUCATION BUDGET AND SEE THE HUGE SUMS ALLOTTED TO OTHER FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES AND UNN IS LEFT WITH ALMOST NOTHING.
Same rumors we heard way back, but i found it not to be true. The school was almost equally funded like other federal universities only that the greedy management did little or nothing.

There was so much corruption going on in the school.

Back in the days i secured admission into PTI, i was about to resume when my uncle heard about it, he told my parents not to let me go to a Polytechnic or Monotechnic, i cried that day sha. Cos i had to wait to write jamb the following year.
My uncle was the Perm Sec. Ministry of Works and Housing that time. And he said he never wanted me to go through what he went through. He had his HND but had to go back to Get a B.Eng after some years due to discrimination and office politics.

From my observation, you have Olodos in both polytechnics and Universities
You can find very intelligent students in Polys and Unis
You find poly graduates employing uni graduates and you find uni graduates employing poly graduates also.
You find illiterates employing both also.

The discrimination and stigmatization is very real. If you have worked in a university, there is a meeting called Congregation, Only University graduates attend.

Just curious...is it onne port you are referring to when you said eastern seaport? I was confused cos I know eastern states to be landlocked....or river ports to be built?

@ op.
Nigerian ports are categorised into two types - the Western Port and the Eastern Port.
The Western Port comprises Apapa Port Complex, Lagos and the Tin-can Island Port Complex, Lagos.
The Eastern Port comprises Rivers Port, Onne Port, Calabar Port and Delta Ports.

The eastern ports are not located in the south east. Just like we have the EAST-WEST Road. It is also not located in the south east also.
