Elixosodi: Greetings all, I av gained admission for one year of graduate studies, I have also initiated my first-semester tuition fee of 8708 cad which is about 2.8m in naira through e- form A, after this payment, I have 7.3 million naira extra in my account.
I want to know, would this be enough for me to serve as a self-sponsored applicant ? Along with the necessary documents required of me.
Thanks Hi, I think it should be enough considering that the second semester fee is usually roughly same amount as the first semester fee. Living expenses is roughly N3.3m for a year (10,000 CAD) @ N330/$ Simply ensure that you have good home ties and a source of income to show that you're not about to spend your life savings. Good luck. |

Kpoksie01: Thanks all for the information and explanations and detailed answers to requests and questions on the thread. Also, kodos to those who have been successful in getting their ppr and study permits. Please I need someone to please advice me on the next line of action I can take...I applied for for a Canadian study visa using an agent. We (I &my wife) did our biometrics mid June 2022 but we haven't heard anything since then. What can I do now, I am wondering if we should go ahead and do upfront medicals now because resumption at the university is Sept 2022. I am just confused right now. Kindly advise please. If you don't have valid medicals within 12 months, i'ld suggest you do same while waiting as it is a requirement for visas beyond 6 months. I have seen people receive their PPR without doing medicals tho, however, I feel it was waived cos of how long their application has been under review and how close their resumption date is (just assumptions, not certain). In anycase, it's still up to you to decide afterall IRCC doesn't suggest upfront, people just do it to fast track their review. Good luck. |

Airoflaw: if you don't provide proof of visa refusal If you're referring to the initial dep it's non refundable - details are there if you click to view the full policy. The balance made to add up the full first semester fee is refundable only if you withdraw or provide proof of Visa denial two weeks before date of resumption. If you don't choose to withdraw and defer the admission, the initial deposit + the balance will be transferred to another intake. Hope that clarifies it. |

Gokoyer1401: Accept my congratulations!!! What's the difference between 'House Deed of Assignment' and 'Gift Deed from mother'. What's the difference sir? Which one are we going to tell lawyer to work on if mother wants to give a house and pieces of lands to her daughter?
Thank you for your time sir Deed of assignment is usually a document backing the purchase/sale of a property (land/house) in relation to the transfer of ownership. Gift deed is simply the transfer of something from a donor to the person receiving the gift (it could be lump sums of money etc). It doesn't involve sale/purchase. |

Iykkke: Thank you so much..so do you know any college that initial deposit is usually optional or at least very cheap? I did not apply to so many schools or researched about that so I can't say. You can check out different schools if the initial dep is something you're really concerned about. Also check to confirm the school's refund/withdrawal policies. Initial deposits are non refundable at times so be careful. good luck. |

How much should be in my bank statement please I need your responses thanks a lot. Hi Iykkke, Seneca tuition initial dep amount is usual present in the letter of admission so you can check to confirm, however, if you're asking just to know its usually the full first semester fee (reason why I chose another school). I also did not bother to check if they have any refund or deferral policy. good luck |

bruno10000: I'm asking this again guy peeps, I'm still seeking admission so here is my question. I'm looking at getting a space in Fashanwe college and there is space for January admission...thing is due to study permit processing I can't make January intake so I'm looking at getting the admission and deferring to the next intake after January so that I can have the time to process my study permit...Gurus in the house is this possible or does it makes sense? You have 5 months from today 1 August to process your study permit and that's enough time considering the 3 months estimated process time by IRCC. Now here's what you need to check; Be sure the school will agree to allow you defer your admission against resuming online when it's time to resume, if not simply apply for another intake. The earlier you apply, the better because the more you take time to think, you may never get your self to actually apply. At the end it is up to you to make your decision. Good luck. |

ActivatedDreams: Please house, I have been having issues with the amount of land to get to server as an home tier. Tho I’m still looking at other options I have to use as home tier.
My question is how much land can serve; can I buy a land of 50k or 100k Naira of like 2-5 plots with Deed of transfer documents?
Or can I use the lands in my village and do documents? Home ties are things that are expected to bring you back after your program. The quantity does not prove more ties rather it should have enough worth that would reasonably bring you back. Your family (parents, kids, siblings, spouse), job, properties etc could be your home tie. Good luck |

Kolajero: . Good morning all.
I have been trying using GTBank US Dollar Mastercard to pay for IRCC study permit application fees but it has been declining it.
Please, is the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) now restricting the use of US Dollar Card? I'm guessing its same issue i had with my UBA USD card, it never worked, sent a dm to ircc on twitter and they stated that my bank blocked something on the card, went to the bank only to be told the card was not profiled to work on such platform. Las las i used barter virtual USD that has now been suspended. -Try contacting your bank with a screenshot of the error prompt to review. -Try other USD card if you know someone that has one. -A prepaid USD card might work if you know someone that has one. -Look for any virtual USD card that still works. good luck. |

Hi Donbuchi, Some schools will require just your waec original cert, some will require your copy of your undergrad transcript (not verified by wes) and some will require a verified undergrad transcript by wes. Knowing this, you will need to check the requirements for your school of choice and proceed. good luck |

I second quote this. WU invoice is valid for like 1 week or even less (not sure). Processing form A takes at least 30days. Before you proceed, contact WU and ask if the invoice validity can be extended or if it will still be valid to process payment even when it expires. Flywire invoice validity can be extended - so confirm for WU. If the above is a yes then proceed to tradesystem.gov.ng, fill the information, attach your - •Letter of admission •High school certificate or university degree certificate (depending on your level of qualification) •The wu invoice •A written and signed letter authorizing the bank to debit your account for the payment. Good luck. |

However, I had taken this medical test before the request came up. After reading ircc page, I just assumed they will see it but I checked my profile and saw a message that they are yet to receive my medical results. I have gone ahead to submit the medical form using webform now. Will that suffice? Your medicals is usually transmitted to IRCC within 5 - 10 working days after you take them. They will not reflect on your profile till it's processed by IRCC. What you can do is to forward your e-medical sheet to IRCC via webform/email. |

Latyphat7: Good morning Everyone,
I was refused 2months ago and I applied for GCMS Notes, it is stated that bank statements not provided was due to my refusal in the note as shown in the notes. Please gurus in the house kindly advise on the next steps The reason is really not that you didn't attach your statements, it stated 2 things - Insufficient funding and unreasonable expense. The two statements points out that your funding was the main reason for the refusal. Try to sum up the total expenses you will need for your program and living expenses and aim to having at least 70 - 80% of it or 100% if possible. Also try to not make it look like it's your life savings you're attempting to use so you can avoid the *not reasonable expense* point. Good luck. |

Things to consider: Your finances - Bsc programs are a minimum of 4 yrs - do you have enough funds to convince a visa officer. Your age and study gap - ensure you explain this well in your sop so you don't let a visa officer decide for you. If these things are in place then you're good to go. Good luck. |

Blakmandk: Please I’d like to make an inquiry based on my application. I submitted on April 26th, biometrics was updated same day. I did upfront Medicals on 28th of June. No update on my application until around 20th of July when eligibility review started. Though I’ve been sending series of mails and webform since the second week I completed my Medicals in the first week of July. July 27th medical passed. So my question is; since my medical was updated to pass after eligibility review has started, is that a positive sign that I might get my PPR anytime soon? Your opinions will be appreciated. Thank you. I don't think passing medicals and updating your biometrics is a sign PPR, it only shows your file is being worked on. Congrats on that. From most timelines here eligibility review starts from a month after application so Just be prayerful and positive. It will end in praises for everyone of us. |

IamTheJ: Honorable Nairalanders,
I have finally confirmed It's not a dream; it's real. It's PPR!!!!
Got a email notification from IRCC around 9:30 am on June 27 to check my mail for a message. Without delay and with my inner eyes raised to, and fixed on, he who lives in the highest heavens, I logged in to my portal. I scrolled up slowly as I didn't want to rush it. I saw "You have 2 messages" on my dashboard, my shaky heart was strengthened a bit because, from what I have noticed from people's posts on Nairaland, PPR often comes with it's twin brother, BVL. Yet I continued scrolling up in slow motion; lo and behold, it was PPR and its twin brother. Then I glanced at the "Final decision" section and saw "Your application was approved...". Guys! Only heaven could say how large my heart dilated in joy.
I needed to take the whole day to be sure I wasn't seeing a vision or having a daydream, and share with families and friends.
Further below you'll find my timeline. But before that, it may interest you to know that my application is quite unusual. And since I joined Nairaland, I haven't seen any one similar.
To give you an idea:
1) FIRST TIME APPLICANT
2) DID EVERYTHING MYSELF WITHOUT MUCH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE (submitted my application just about amonth after joining Nairaland)
3) 38 years old with very little or no secular work experience (there's a reason for that, though). Single, but not searching yet. lol!
4) Currently not working (though was doing an online course that is not even related to my prospective program - Philosophy)
5) As a logical follow-up of no.4, NO FINANCIAL/PERSONAL ASSETS declared ( there's a reason, though). Didn't submit any personal Bank statement; just my sponsor's. (People are refused visa on the basis of lack of financial/personal assets. But I got approval even without any; what God cannot do does not exist).
6) SPONSORED BY A MATERNAL UNCLE (Mum's immediate younger brother) living and working in the US as a medical doctor. (Third-party sponsored applications get up to 95 - 98% refusal; practically all approvals I've seen on Nairaland are either self-sponsored, spouse-sponsored, parent-sponsored). But I got approval; God too strong o. When he opens the door, no one can close it.
As you can see, what we call "red flags" abound. Plus a plethora of other imperfections i noticed in my application after I had submitted, as I got more enlightened following people's inputs on Nairaland. In fact, when I read people's refusal reasons and the watertightness of approved applications, I felt there was no need to keep deceiving myself. I never gave up trusting in God, though. Tell me, then, why we can't call this a miracle from the Most High.
TIMELINE
- Application Submitted - MAY 11
- Biometrics - MAY 12 ( Lagos)
- Upfront medicals done - MAY 9 ( didn't submit the information sheet with the application)
- Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after sending the information sheet via webforms and emails to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mmid-June)
- Eligibility Started same JUNE 22
- PPR and BVL - JULY 27
Total duration of my application is therefore 10 WEEKS and 2 DAYS.
I'll come back to share the DOCUMENTS Submitted (They are not that much).
Some unanswered questions on this thread will find responses with my case.
If you no Sabi pray and trust in God, begin now de learn am. If you no believe sey miracle still dey happen, you don see am now. lol!
KINDLY NOTE, HOWEVER: each person's case is unique. I tailored my LOE and I believe honesty pays. Know your case and present a tailor-made application. No complications.
Going to UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA. Someone told me amusingly that uOttawa visa applications are never turned down. lol! (Don't take this seriously, please). Na only God fit do the magic!
To be honest, I carry everyone here in my prayers. The Lord who did it for me will do it for each and everyone of you here trusting in Him. Rest assured of that. Thank you all for all your contributions on this thread. You'll surely smile soon, starting with the Fall session candidates because their case is more urgent. It'll surely end in praise!
I hope this encourages someone.
Thank you! Thank you!! And Thank you!!! Wow, this is a testimony indeed . Congratulations is in order. I tap into your grace. |
