Mercyfoundme05:
Okay, I am back again, this is going to be very long don’t mind my typos, but I will section my stories in parts….

PART 1

So, this dream all started in 2017, I was so clueless but then I wanted to travel to Canada, I chose Canada over the USA as I found peace when I began nurturing Canadas thoughts.

So 2017, I got admitted to Conestoga college and I applied for my study permit in April 2018. June of 2018 I got rejected…..yeeeehh!!!!!. At that point, my life literally ended and started again in a heart beat. My best friend and I applied together in 2018, we drove ourselves to Lagos to submit our application, although he applied to the UK. He was already in the UK when I got my rejection. I was so depressed, nothing made sense to me anymore. I had to leave my house and move to my best friends house ( he just relocated but all his stuffs were still in his house) I parked my car in his compound, locked myself indoor, I didn’t step out, matter of fact, my car battery drained out. I almost turned to a monster, no hair cuts, I wasn’t bathing. Ah!!!! It was a very hard time for me. But I fought the depression and came out of it. During my voluntary house arrest, I stumbled on NL joined and started reading ( I opened a new user name which is what I am writing with now), ordered for my notes( refusal reasons were Purpose of visit, personal assets and financial status and travel history). NL actually gave me up again. All thanks to this family.

So in April of 2019, I reapplied again, like a guru hehehe…..But hell no!!! Another rejection came again in June of the same year. Ahhhh!!!! I ordered for my notes and I was rejected only for Personal assets and financial status this time.

Deferred my admission again, 2020 came with Covid, so I didn’t apply I was taking my time and watching the Covid thread.

So after these 2 rejections, I reapplied in May 2021, the long waiting started, in September 6th 2021, I joined the online classes without visa, I sent IRCC my enrollment letter so they know I have started classes. But no way! I got a rejection (same as the previous reason, Financial and personal assets) on the 27th of September 2021. Ah!!!! Aiye mi oooo!!

I was devastated, I groaned for a couple of days, but I was still receiving classes. I picked myself up and reapplied again on the 7th of October 2021. Around November 2021, I had to stop classes as decision was not forthcoming, and I will lose my complete tuition as there was a due date for it.

I deferred, and got a new LOA for 2022 term. Another long wait…….then in March 3rd 2022….another rejection shocker for the 4th time..Eweeeeeeeee!!! (For another baseless reason with the same generic refusal letter) Imagine, this time when I ordered for my gcms notes(well, I never missed ordering for my notes after every rejection), the vo said my LOA looked fake! I was like and you guys couldn’t contact my college to re-confirm, or send me a procedural fairness letter?? Shey nah outright refusal be the next thing…….

I was down in the dump and frustrated, but something kept speaking to my spirit ‘This is a good case at the Federal Court’.

I picked myself up again in couple of days, then that spirit whispered to me again ‘you can’t keep doing the same thing, and expecting to get a different answer’

So, I contacted an immigration lawyer(All thanks to Legacyedition) , I narrated my stories to the Lawyer in Canada. He was sadmad! He said my application and UCI has been stereotyped by IRCCs software ( the almighty chinook 3+ software). He said I will keep getting an automatic rejection on every application so a Judicial Review would be my best bet.

I filed for a JR at the Federal Court on the 8th of March 2022, it was too expensive but I didn’t mind. I won settlement out of court on the 25th of April 2022. My refused application was reopened on the 6th of May 2022, and I was sent a request letter to submit updated bank statement, LOA, letter of explanation etc.....I submitted them on the 16th of May 2022.

Another waiting began! This time, I had already grown flesh…I was just busy with other things, praying, and waiting for my approval. Started classes again without visa on the 6th, that was 3 days ago .

But yesterday being the 7th of September 2022, my long awaited PPR came like a thief in the night…..!!! All honor and praises to HIM who sits on the throne. Thank you JESUS… What God cannot do does not exist.

I will be sharing the documents I submitted in my PART 2 and also share my JR journey in PART 3.

But in the interim, I won sharply submit my passport, Abeg make una help me with the updated passport submission requirements for Lagos and Abuja. I had my biometric in Lagos, I can’t find my biometric slip. I am waiting for a response regarding this. Thank you.
Wow, congratulations congratulations congratulations.

Please if you have issues, sort it out and don’t bring it to NL… because i am very sure i do not know you from anywhere so i don’t understand why you have been picking on me tonight but trust me.. i am not your problem, i am not VO… i understand the wait could be frustrating but try to control yourself or stay away from public forums if you can’t control your emotions. This is a public forum, anyone can reply to any comment… Care to explain why you reply to comments not meant for you in particular? I only seconded what you said so if you have an issue with that, then it’s your problem not mine… this isn’t your dm.
Just imagine your response and your choice of words for an adult.
If your comments are not rude, they are insensitive or an outright attempt to bully. You don't need to reply comments if you cannot be courteous enough especially like you said you don't know me and most people here if not everyone in person .

It has finally ended in praise
Second time applicant

First application was 15th May 2021 and on the 10th of September them serve me breakfast which came with premium tears.

Second application
Submission- 13th December 2021

I ordered for my notes to know the main reason for my refusal in other to know how to tackle them appropriately.

The refusal reason was that dy don’t think the bank statement I presented wasn’t going to take care of my tuition and accommodation so I was refused

What I did was to get two sponsors. The first sponsor is my dads younger brother. I got an employment letter from him cus he owns a law firm. So basically it made sense to say he was going to sponsor me to acquire knowledge and help foster the growth of his business. Co-sponsor is my mothers younger brother who is a Canadian citizen. He wrote a letter stating he was ready to take care of my accommodation as my school is just 15 mins away from his place sha as well as my feeding.

Documents

I divided my documents into four different sections
1 client information section
2 acceptance section
3 international passport section
4 proof of funds

1 acceptance section
Unconditional admission offer
Waec certificate
Degree certificate
Academic transcript
Nysc certificate
Cv

2client information section
Statement of purpose
Family tree
Family pictures
Family birth certificate
Parents marriage certificate
Mums death certificate
Family stamped passport to Uk
Sponsors declaration of age
Pictures with sponsor
Birth certificate of co sponsor
Pictures with co-sponsor
Photography certificate
Project presentation
Project hustle
Paintball proposal
Letter of recommendation from mail matters
Appointment letter
Salary account
Payslip
Work Id
Pictures at work
Leave certificate
Police clearance certificate
Ielts
Affidavit of return
Fathers consent letter

3. International passport section
Data page of my passport
Previous stamped visa to uk

4. Proof of fund section
Letter of explanation
Tuition fee receipt
Sponsorship letter
Sponsors affidavit of financial support
Sponsors CAC documents
Sponsors bank Statements and all investment certificate
Sponsors international passport
Email conversation with cosponsor( uncle in Canada I plan on staying with)
Co sponsor supporting documents (support letter, employment verification utility bills properties... etc.......)

So I made my table of content clickable to make it easy for the VO

Like i said application took almost 9 months... on the 7th of June I was requested to send an updated LOA That same month emailed an MP. She was ready to help but the info she got back from ircc wasn’t really helpful has it was just basically a summary of my application.

Mehnn I really gained a lot of knowledge on this platform... thanks to all the gurus in the house..... God bless
You sure prepared well the second time. I tap into your testimony and I shall be next.

Congratulations once again.

please I need help, I am not able to pay my application fee using my naira MasterCard, please how can i go about it. Thank you
Naira cards no longer work for international payments. I used a barter virtual USD card but it doesn't work anymore.

Your option is to either look for someone you trust who has a USD card, look for a virtual USD card or open a Dom account and collect a USD card on it and use.

Good luck.

You will also agree that it takes nothing to reply with courtesy because we don't know each other personally here.

We are all here to learn and support eachother, no one here is a VO or knows for sure how these things work, we only assume based on experiences, faith n hope so making comments like you have first hand knowledge is distracting and came be damaging if proper caution is not taken.

Yes i thouught about this, but ibwas told that going for pgc, u must pay part of tuition fee, before u can apply for visa,. But undergraduate u dont need to pay, yet u still get visa.
School fees initial dep is per school not per program.
Some schools require you to make some form of commitment in form of initial deposits as condition for your acceptance while some schools won't ask for financial commitment.

Check your school of choice, check their admission requirements, deferral and refund policies before you apply.

What they want is for me to apply for another intake for Sept 2023 pay application fee and another 500 confirmation fee despite paying all this for 2022 that is withdrawn.
I can understand the application fee cos it won't be free to re-apply, however, do you mean you also paid a non refundable deposit of CAD500?

Mehn if that's it and they refused to allow you differ then na advanced yahoo yahoo be dat.

On a lighter note, that should be roughly N170k you paid as non refundable if I'm right.

What if i decide to apply for undergraduate using only my waec, without mentioning hnd. What will br my chance due to study gap
You can secure admission with your Waec or HND, that's not the challenge.
The challenge would be when it comes to convincing a VO that your choice is genuine and you have the funds for it. If you can tackle this with documents and your SOP then you're good.

Also try to avoid schools like this NBCC mentioned above since they don't offer differals or online classes if there's a visa delay.

Good luck.

I wrote them that I have not goten decision from the IRCC concerning my visa approval, that my student account should not be charge for insurance as I dont know my stand yet.I paid for 1 year fee including student union, insurance all feel for 1 year.So they wrote me back that i have been withdrawn.I wrote a protest letter and I was told that If I dont show up in Canada by 12 of this month, that my withdrawal still stand. My school dont have Janauary seession and I am not even allowed to deffer unless I have rejection letter from IRCC and the last date for defferement is today
Ok if you cannot differ, your best option is to enquire if you can apply for another intake and request for refund of your fees. Once you get the admission, you can forward the LOA to IRCC

Or should i just apply as undergraduate to study aircraft engineering without mentioning my hnd. I have 13years study gap. Cos i graduated 2009.pls house advice me wisely
The idea to increase your chances (not saying you can't switch careers and get your visa) is by applying for courses related to your previous study or work experience.

Check your self, know the documents you can provide to back your application, check your finances and go for it.

Good luck.

It's really funny because someone here dropped a timeline showing only documents from the sponsor alone and still got approved. It makes the whole selection process unpredictable and unfair sort of.

Don't let it weigh you down, 7 months is a long time to wait and then get disappointed, however, dust your self and retry as you never know what a retrial can produce.

Someone here also re-uploaded same documents after the first refusal without altering or adding another document and then got approved the second time, it makes you wonder what went wrong the first time.

Good luck.

It depends on the evaluation you intend to pay for, mine was an upgrade. check the fee and crosscheck with the naira rate you are exchanging for.

I replied cos I have made payment on wes recently and i have knowledge that naira cards no longer work for int'l payments. I used barter card for my payment before it was blocked. I don't understand what you mean by withholding info after responding to your questions repeatedly.

If you cannot google and get a virtual USD card that works like I did with barter card before it was blocked, be careful with sending your funds to someone and getting scammed here.

Google luck.

I have a few questions;
I've been admitted to Niagara College, and I need to start my visa process.
However, there are some issues that I'm facing at the moment, and here's the list;

First off,
I am a resident in Dubai, and I run a company here, which makes me eligible to apply for my study visa from here.
Now, the issue is that I do not have a UAE bank account at the moment to show proof of fund.
Will the embassy in Abu Dhabi accept a Nigerian bank account?

Secondly, can I use a Payoneer account statement for my application? I basically use my Payoneer card for every of my expenses in Dubai.
Your application will be submitted as a Nigerian with your Nigerian passport and docs so you will need your Naira account.

Your Payoneer account can stand as additional proof of funds.

Good luck.

Can a school give admission without submitting transcript.
It depends on the transcript.

It could be your Waec original certificate showing your subjects and grade - that's your high school transcript.

It could be your university transcript - thats your undergrad

Please explain clearer, if the transaction was done wen rate was $1/419, and say on the credited day $1/450 will it be a loss?
By your explanation naira has lost value so your refund will be at the new rate. You will gain

If naira were to be N400/$1 it means it has gained value from the previous $1/N419 so you will loose part of your funds.

Hope it's clearer now

URGENT! URGENT !!URGENT!!!

I need help please!
I got a refusal on the 20th of May 2022, requested for my refund that same day.

Flywire completed my refund and sent the money to my bank on the 14th of July 2022
I have been going to my bank, but they keep telling me they are processing it. I could not hold on again so I decided to involve CBN. I sent my complain to CBN and copied Ecobank, few minutes after I did that, Ecobank replied that they are sorry for the inconveniences.

Two days later I got a mail that a ticket has been raised for my request. That was on 28th of August, since then I have not heard anything again even after sending several mails.

Good people of nairaland, what should I or Can I do know?

Please help a sister, help a friend
Thanks
Pele, international refunds are not like local refunds, they take time.

Your refund was initiated on May 20th and it took flywire till July 14th to refund your local bank here, that's almost 2 month's.
Before it gets to your account from flywire it might take same time frame just chill and keep following up.

Mind you, the refund will be at the dollar rate for the day it will be credited to your account, so if naira appreciates by then you will receive lower than you transferred to your school and vice versa.

Good luck.

I’m so grateful to God… I can’t believe I’m sharing my story..

It all started at October 2021, firstly I tried USA and I was denied without even knowing the reason. My application was handled by course mate in undergraduate here in Nigerian. He travelled to Canada last year and did his application and visa by himself… he is a genius sha…
He assured me I will get Canada that I should give it a try.. he helped me in all the processes without taken a fee that if my visa get approved I can appreciate him(there are good people)

So he helped me in my admission and I got admitted in to 2 different school. He wrote all my SOP for all my admission

On January 25th 2022 he submitted my visa after which I knew about naira land. So i noticed that we have to state our visa denial from reading the thread. I initially ignored it so I got information from this thread to send web form of which I sent by immediately.

Looongggggg wait
Order gcms note it says “recommend interview” some say it is a positive sign..

Lonnggg wait emailing Mp none replied me.

On. 17 August I got Bvl without decision.. I just gave up. I was depressed after all this long wait I will be denied (my mind telling me). My friend that did my application drafted a mail to send to them after 10 days of wait. On Monday 29th August I emailed them by 7:00am and by 11:30 am my ppr dropped.

Because of depression I travelled to stay with my parents so I got the good new with them(family is everything)

First time applicant
Submitted 25th January 2022
Medical pass 14 February 2022
Bvl 17th August
Ppr 29 August

Special thanks to my friend ikebobo and his brother Emeka(you guess are friends that can be called brothers) I didn’t pay any fee. The confidence and encouragement. And thanks to Nairaland Canada thread for your assistance I really appreciate
Congratulations to you
