Dangote, a man whose life was changed with just 500k by his uncle
$500k or N500k in the late sixties and early seventies is like $500million or N5billion today when you factor in the inflation rate over the years.

If I get that kind of money today I will be richer that Dangote in 20years time. Its a Fact.

bukster:
French armies do seem to have better results in Africa than the US in the Middle East but it comes as a high price. Many Francophone countries in Africa are not truly independent- or as independent as some other African countries. France has a huge say in who they elect and the policies they employ.

If the USA does help with Boko Haram, I hope it doesn't lead to the destruction of Nigeria and that our country doesn't become lap dogs to the US like some francophone countries lipsrsealed
You're very correct with your assertions.

The second paragraph is the reason why I detest the US help. The fact that I said I prefer French does not mean I want them. I'll prefer we deal with our problem ourselves.

I see all this Bokoharam, ISIL as a modern means of enslaving weak countries and countries with high potentials of threatening the western domination.

Nigeria must learn to depend on ourself alone and rise amidst all this trials.

The French and the US are two sides of the same coin.
I beg to disagree a little. They are obviously allies but looking at the aftermath of countries they have helped, you can't but accept that the french are better off. Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Sudan, Mali are examples of countries with majorly French interventions. Everyone knows all the countries USA has intervened and how "well" they have fared after.

Politics › Re: Stop Seeking Foreign Assistance, Balarabe, Falae Tell Buhari by jomoh: 9:06am On Jun 05, 2015
You just typed poo in defence of nonsense.

Vikkie14:
1. So, you also thinks Nigeria is a puppet State to be push around and spoon fed by Foreigners and power-that-be? The last time i checked, NIGERIA IS A "SOVEREIGN" AND AN "INDEPENDENT" STATE.
So it is now you know that Nigeria is not a puppet State? en? When GEJ was saying "America will know", where were you? When Zimbabwian President of all countries was bashing Nigeria, where were you? Where were you? when the American senator insulted our country, when Morocco was denying our head of government a meeting, where were you when Nigerians were returned from south africa on baseless grounds of Yellow cards.

The new president has been meeting with the neighbouring countries to the affected zone and nobody knows what he has being discussing with them. This people came up with baseless assumption that he's seeking help and you can come out and defend them. Even if he is asking for help, why didn't they tell that to the President Jonathan when he was there? Why didn't they talk when the Chadian Army encroached into our territory?

2. I doubt you know what you typed up there. Nigeria, a Dilapidated State?? Tell me more!!! Why don't you even say it's a FAILED STATE??
I doubt you know anything about economy. If Nigeria is not Dilapidated please enlighten us on the word to use. A country with over $60Billion in debt(that could take over 2000years to pay back even if N5billion is paid monthly at the current exchange rate--you can do your maths on it.), a very week currency to trade, very week Military to defend its territory and very broke to the extent that it has to be borrowing to pay its workers.

Please I really need to know your opinion on the state of the Nation.

3. I agree Heaven ONLY could give a sound and "workable" Consultation/Advice not running to the West.
#SHALOM.
West? Where the hell did you see west in the article up there? Since the swearing in ceremony have you seen the President meeting with the west.

You need to emancipate yourself from the mental slavery of the President Jonathan. Its not good for your health.

True i think all these needs to be checked and the government should also push lots of funds into the Nigerian police and background checks must be carried out and the recruitment process must be taken seriously
I feel you bro.

ceaz4r:
If in place of a DPO, we have an Army Captain heading that formation and some military boys policing the police and also incharge of their physical and morale training, I believe that will instill descipline in our police.
An Army Captain I believe would not function well as a DPO because in a layman's language Armies are trained to kill although they are disciplined to know when and when not to. They are trained in war strategies which is quite different from crime fighting. The Military people shouldn't get too involved in the activities of the police to avoid being corrupted. What is needed is just some Military trained Police officers that will be in charge of their discipline in terms of dressing, behaviour and general conduct when relating with the masses. A department can be created for that purpose and should be overseen strictly by the Military.

You hear a Military person being court martial for misconduct but I've never heard such in the Police. All I think they do is fill an incident form as long as no one reports or takes the incident up.

I think Buhari needs to set up a military arm to prevent indiscrimate beating up of civilians by police or military personnel,
The question is "who police the police?"

More like a Polices' Police. Like we have in the Military the Military Police(MP), in the custom Custom Police(CP), Immigration Police(IP) etc why can't we have such in the police.

The Nigerian Police is the most undisciplined uniformed men in the country.
Politics › Re: Ribadu, Mark Clash Over National Assembly Budget by jomoh: 8:44am On Jun 02, 2015
fitzmayowa:
You are getting it wrong, when it comes to money in the national assembly there is no opposition, they are always united, so pointing accusing fingers at PDP guys alone in the national assembly is very wrong....

We also have APC senators/reps in the assembly and none of them said anything about the waste of national fund going on in the house, all in the name of running the "legislative" arm of government...
I believe you're the one who got it wrong. Ribadu was not pointing accusing finger at any party but rather the whole National Assembly. He was only telling the PDP members to break away from the Norm/tradition of making the NA budget secret that it will stand them out and make them acceptable to the populace come 2019.

Health › Fake Drugs Alert: Nairalanders/nigerians Beware. by jomoh(op): 3:26am On May 28, 2015
On the 24 of May I went to a local chemist to buy Lumertem an ani malaria drug to use. I had been feeling feverish since arriving from Abuja on a night journey the previous day.

When I got home, I settled down to take the four prescribed tablets as the first dosage. After plucking out the tablets from the sachet, I decided to check the verification pin on the container. So I scratched the card and sent the pin to the short code provided, only to receive a message saying "the code was a valid code but was used on 2015-3-26 at 21:42:31 by 2348****32184".

So Nairalanders, beware and inform your Family members to always confirm the code before taking those drugs. Its free to confirm. No charges.

See the pictures below.

Will get back with a clearer picture of the code on the box.

$60Billion debt will take this country over 2000years (2 millenium) to repay at the current exchange rate if we are to pay N5Billion monthly.
