WORD FOR TODAY
Every sacrifice comes with a great cost. When it comes to giving to God our creator you must ensure that you give to Him a thing that cost us something!!!

God does not need men to be the God He is but we need Him to fulfil our mandate in the land of the living. God in His principles gives back to men according to the measure of what they give.

The fact that there are people who take advantage of the heart of sacrifice of men towards God to enrich themselves, should not hinder you to offer quality sacrifices to God. Your pace in life and what your life will turn out to depend on your sacrifices. Solomon's journey to significance began the day He gave bountifully to God at the inception of his reign.

The value of what you give God will always be in the proportion of what God gave you. A man who has $200000 and gives God $2000 actually gave something but what did it cost him? Whatever you do becomes sacrifice if and only if it costs you something. God needs your time, money, expertise and material possessions to execute His divine plans on earth.

Life is all about investment because it has to do with giving and taking. The life of a man will only be balanced if he gives and receives. If there be anything you want to receive in multiple folds; that you must give.

Investment requires sowing of precious seed whether it is convenient or not. Sow your seed in its season so as not to want in the time of harvest.

The life of a man is first and foremost an investment in the hands of the Lord; therefore, we must submit our lives to fulfil His purpose in whatever we do.

Be wise in the giving of your time, wisdom, talent, intellect, gifts, resources, professionalism and money as at when due in every domain of your placement.

Every man you come in contact with in a relationship is your helper. You cannot accurately determine if you are cruel, proud, selfish, covetous, kind, caring, loving and generous until you come into a relationship. Your faith is baseless until it becomes validated under the atmosphere of relationship.

God places much value on our relationships. He debunks the fact that a man claims to love Him at the expense of His fellow brother (1John 4:20). He rejects every gift or service rendered to him at a time you are not at peace with your brother (Matthew 5:24).

The Lord sees a man who cannot provide for his own home in marital relationship as the worst infidel (1Tim 5:. If it will be well with a child and live long to enjoy the goodness of the Lord on earth; he must honour his Parents and establish a good relationship with them (Eph 6:1-3). Also, He considers a peaceful relationship with men as a pre-requisite for holiness required for heaven making (Heb 12:14).

To be what God wants you to be at all levels of life you must submit yourself and grow in a relationship (marital, discipleship, parental, career and other aspects of life).

Lord! Help me to submit myself to a destiny helping relationship in Jesus name. Amen!!!

The true identity of a man is not his physical appearance but the man in him. Jesus who is the author and the finisher of our faith did not give Himself to men just because He knew the desperate wicked nature of the heart of men.

This understanding made Him live successfully among the likes of Judas, Pharisees and other wicked men. Any man (your intimate friend, household members, neighbours, family members, church member, colleagues at work or even some so-called men of God) can be an instrument in the hands of the evil ones; if they submit themselves to be used by the devil.

We have seen men who entrusted their entire lives in the hand of their friends or close associate thinking that they would have their back when life situation tends to pull them down like the force of gravity but failed to do so at that critical point.

Don't be careless with your life, be filled with the Holy Spirit to be able to discern the man who is in charge of the lives of the men you are dealing with. The level of your relationship with men must be based on common physical interest alone but through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Focus: Subdue Dark Passion

Dark passion is any hidden passion that defeats every moral and godly standard and principles. No man became great under God that does not subdue dark passion!!!

When dark passion begins to gain ground in the life of a man, such is on the pathway of destruction. All men who failed in destiny failed because they at a point in time gave room to dark passion in their lives.

The life of David was on a peaceful course and right track until he gave room to the dark passion that made him kill Uriah and this singular act added a stigma to his history in destiny. Gehazi laid a foundation of leprosy for his lineage the day he gave room to a dark passion that made him collect the gift he shouldn't from Naaman.

As you proceed in destiny always seek the help of God to help you to subdue dark passion by yielding yourself to God's will at all times in the manner Joseph did to preserve his dreams and mandate in the land of the living. Always think about the indelible damage dark passion will bring on your reputation, mandate and dreams before taking any action. Yield not to temptation.

With time you will get to know that your experience is for good! When David was engaging in different battles all he could say is that God trains his hand for war. Also, Joseph from the dry well became a slave and from being a slave to a prisoner and from a prisoner to prime minister. Everything is working and working for your good if you believe and do God's will.

The prodigal son went away from his father with every blessing he collected from him and wasted all of it. This is the typical lifestyle of every prodigal son. They laboured diligently to get a blessing from God and use it to serve the sinful nature and the devil. Imagine a man who fasted and prayed for several days to get power from God in a bid to serve but on receiving it; trade it for money and fame.

It only a healthy man whom the Lord gave life that engages in immorality, robbery and every work of the flesh. What the life of the prodigal son turns out to be, represent the lot of all prodigal sons. Do not take the grace of God for granted nor waste the blessing of God meant to help fulfil your mandate. Be careful to please God with whatever you have and become in every facet of life.

Every attempt a man makes to outsmart God or disregard His will in whatever he does is an attempt to deprive himself the life God wants to give him. It is not enough to achieve something; having joy, peace, satisfaction and fulfilment are what matters. Live your everyday life knowing that without God nothing is possible. The only way to meeting your heart desires is to acknowledge God and to do His will.

One of those things you will not but always experience in everything you do is discouragement. You will be tempted to quit your marriage, relationships, business, ministry, career, church and the things you do for God on the account of setbacks or unfavourable outcome.

When your expectations over certain issues of life are not met do all you could to ensure improvement. The evil one has not succeeded in whatever you do until he stops you from pursuing your goal. At a point, the Israelites by the virtue of the hardship and setbacks they faced on the pathway to the promised land contemplate not forging ahead but rather return to Egypt. The ultimate goal of discouragement is to take back or put your life on hold. Whenever discouragement comes always find grace and strength in God to encourage yourself to forge ahead!!!

Lord! I will not be discouraged; come what may I will reach my goal in Jesus name. Amen!!!

One of those things that prompt men to celebrate in every facet of life is a good result. When men achieve a good result in academics, marriage, career, business, job etc. they have no choice than to celebrate.

Several men are just desperate and offer themselves to do just whatever it takes to get a result. These people will still call for a party to celebrate unrighteous gains or result that emanates from compromise.

Our Lord made it clear to us that getting results even if it is through righteousness is not enough reason to celebrate but gaining God's approval and maintaining sonship or citizenship with Him, after all, is said and done in every facet of life. In everything you do, you must be rest assured that God is pleased with you and that your salvation is intact whether your result is favourable or not.

The primary and the most critical assignment the devil wants to achieve is to ensure our isolation with God the Father. The ordeal of the prodigal son began when he accepted to go away from his father. Gehazi kept the thought of going after Naaman to get something away from Elisha and took his journey. Most of what lead people into trouble were those things they kept away from their guardians (God's word and people of God)

It is an outright deception from the pit of hell for a man to think his life will be better of, going away from his creator or isolating himself from God's people. The devil couldn't achieve his aim with Eve until he succeeded in taking her away from the truth. Whatever takes you away from the truth, prayer, God's word, your consecration and people of God tends to isolate you for slaughter. Find grace under God never to yield to the temptation of isolating yourself from God; it is very costly.

+ Are you thinking of going away from the father?

When the Lord puts an end to the reproach of Hannah, she couldn't help but sing inspirationally that no one is holy like the Lord. Her ordeal and the experience she had with people gave her a clear understanding of the fact that men are not God and that God is not like men. The best of all men will at best be a man and can never take the place of God.

No matter what has happened, happening or will happen, God is holy and righteous. There is nowhere you can get joy, peace, blessing, breakthrough, healing, prosperity, promotion, progress, success that God has not given you. Only God can meet your needs and stand by you in the storm of life. Every blessing that does not take its source from Him is rather trouble. Let's trust in God and honour Him with our existence.

There are several mysteries about life which is beyond human comprehension. If only you can pause a little and think about your life this year, you will discover that God has been gracious to you. God has done so much for us and we cannot tell it all. Despite the effect of the pandemic imposed on the entire human race in terms of loss of life, jobs, career, materials, relationships; the Lord brought us this far.

The Lord deserves nothing but our appreciation and worship. Faith in God demands that you believe that all He does is good and the best for you. Life has proven over time that not all good things are good for the heart of men. God uses both the good and bad things of life to shape our lives into His intended purpose for us. That you are still alive signifies that you have hope and a better tomorrow lies ahead.

Don't let the situation of life dictate your actions but respond to all situations according to God's word for it. Joseph did not say "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" when he was tempted but rather disciplined himself and flee from sin according to God's Word. David did not lay his on King Saul who is desperately seeking to kill him because He remembered God's word which says "touch not my anointed."

Someone can be stealing funds placed in his disposal because he is earning little coupled with vast responsibility or unbridled ambition. A man may be indulging in adultery because the temptation is just irresistible. I don't know the reason you always give for your actions. Men of old could have given such but they lived their lives according to God's word and did not allow those situations to lead them to the path they never planned to go. Apostle Paul was tempted in many ways but he disciplined himself to fulfil his mandate.

Take charge of your destiny by denying yourself to have the life God wants to give you!

The Israelites on the pathway towards the promised land came under intense pressure as a result of the host of Egyptians and the red sea right before them. They were terrified and accepted to die, but the word of the Lord came to them as stated in the text above. This they did and experienced the salvation of God.

You also, don't consider it strange each time various life situation mount pressure on you. When under such pressure, the best thing to do is to be still. To be still means to do nothing but to obey God's instructions. You must be still if you desire to experience God.

Jesus spoke of a Pharisee who in the place of prayer evaluated himself using the standard of the life of a tax collector and the sinner around him. He was condemned because he fails to seek the glory of God to see the standard expected of him (Luke 18:11-14). Each time a man evaluates himself with the standard of men; he will fall short of God's Glory.

When Prophet Isaiah had an encounter with God and saw His Glory after several years of serving as a prophet to God's people, he cannot help but to voice out "Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts." (Isa 6.5).

You must never compare yourself with anyone. We all have different levels of dealings, relationship, encounter with God and exposure to His word. Don't be eaten up by various religious activities but be more concerned about conformity to the life of Christ the author and the finisher of our faith.

+ By whose standard do you evaluate your life? Are you living up to the standard expected of you by God?

Lord! Help me to always behold your Glory that I may not fall short of your expectations for my life in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Your neighbour is any man in your immediate contact. You have not done God's will until you love your neighbour in the manner you love yourself. The implication of this is that: what you desire for yourself is what you should desire for others and what you don't want for yourself is what you should reject for others. In the practical sense, it is a very great task but a must for all God's children.

We are called to a life of bearing the burden of others as you would to your burden. The parable of the Good Samaritan depicts how we should love our neighbour. The parable shows that Love is proactive, observant, compassionate, responsive, costly,
inopportune, healing, sacrificial, communal, promising, merciful and shows no partiality. Exhibiting these attributes is what makes you a child God.

Everything you see men do in various aspects of life starts with a thought process. The evil we see men do occur because they put their evil thoughts into action. Similarly, those men who act righteously and lived a life of integrity, did that not because evil thoughts did not enter their hearts but because they guarded their hearts and silenced the evil thought process in it.

It wasn't as if the king's food was not attractive to Daniel. A strong young man like Joseph will naturally yield to the advances made by Potiphar's wife. David didn't lay his hand on King Saul even though he sought to kill him at all cost. These men were able to live correctly because they guarded their hearts. To have the life God wants to give you, there is a need to seek God's help through His word to guard your heart diligently.

+ Is the word of God hidden in your heart?

Don't allow any situation of life to take you away from God's presence nor hinder you from doing His will. The lives of various men of old have proven the fact that going away from God's presence or disobedience to His word means "death". There is yet a glory to be revealed in your life. Trust your life to God and wait for His salvation in every facet of life!!!

You must be mindful of the fact that it is very easy to remember the evil that men do than the good things they do. David did great exploit in his days; most of which were not mentioned on several occasions but the mistake he made was repeatedly announced.

Sin is a reproach which soils the life's history of a man. Imagine a man who spent the money kept in his disposal and fail to account for it. Each time there is a need for faithful men, his previous unfaithfulness will be remembered and he will be avoided. Don't say God is merciful and live as if you have a license to sin; thinking that you will always find forgiveness. In everything you do, submit yourself to God and allow Him to live His life in you.

The friends of the paralytic man displayed an act of desperation while ensuring that their friend gets to Jesus to be healed of his paralysis. The Lord saw their act as great faith. The act of desperation that tends towards knowing God, walking and working in obedience to do His good pleasure is a good one.

David was equally known for his desperation towards God. He said, "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you". This is the desperation that we should have for God—a great need or desire for God.

If we don’t feel desperate for God, we don’t tend to cry out to Him. And this leads to spiritual death. Being desperate for more of God should be the cry of every Bible-believing Christian. We should want our cup to overflowing with God’s presence and existence, and we should be ever seeking more of Him. Spiritual death comes when we think we have enough of God when we think our cup is appropriately filled.

+ Are you desperate for God and His is will for your life?

As you lay the foundation of your life in every aspect of your life be it; marital, career, spiritual, social and other aspects; be ever mindful of the fact that God is the builder of everything. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, don't be wise in your own eyes. Submit yourself totally to God. Allow Him to have full control over the affairs of your life. This is the only way He will get involved in the building process of your life to ensure conformity to His precious plan for you.

Our lives are more like a book having different chapters. Irrespective of the chapter your life might appear to be; the fact remains that you should allow the Joy of the Lord to rule over your life.

We will not but always come to various points where the situation of life will be so difficult to the point of being tempted to give up. When life presents the option of sadness to you. Please choose to be happy if not for anything but for the fact that you have God and that glorious days lie ahead of you.

Whatever the case may be with you don't forget the fact that the Lord has invested so much on you to bring you this far. Rejoice in hope that all will be well with you. Don't give up on the plan of God for you; always look up to seeing the glorious days ahead of you even if the present situation is not proving it.

We must be mindful of the fact the outcome as we face issues of life may be favourable or unfavourable.

Whatever the case may be facing issues of life; remember what God has said and lived by it. There is no amount of preparation in terms of having financial, spiritual, academic, ministerial, intellectual resources that can save a man and give him the required outcome in some issues of life except the word of God. Several men falter when trouble from issues of life comes because they depend absolutely on the aforementioned resources. You will only have peace by faith alone!!!

Irrespective of the level of resources at your disposal you must be mindful of the fact that you are created to bless lives with what you have.

Five loaves and two fishes presented by a disciple feed 5000 men who followed Jesus to the mountain. What this disciple did was registered in the scripture for remembrance from generation to generation. God right from time has an attitude of placing the resources he needs in the hands of his people. Do not hesitate to make yourself a worthy instrument of blessing and allow the blessing of the Lord to flow through you.

Money is a god that takes the place of the Almighty God in the lives of men. It is so powerful that it can cause men not to have the right sense of judgement and sound conscience. Also, it can make men make nonsense of the consecration they have built over the years.

The fact that money is an indispensable entity in the life of a man; makes it very crucial for you to place it in its rightful place. Money is a good servant but a bad master. Don't allow money to define your career, marriage, academics, ministry and your entire life. If you do, it will ruin your life and rob you of the life that God wants to give you.
