Focus: Using What you Have to Please God

WORD FOR TODAY
There is nothing you have that was not given to you. The fact that there is nothing you have that will not finish; makes it paramount for you to use what you have to glorify God and fulfill your mandate!!!

There are two ways to everything a man has; it is either he leaves them or they leave him. Consider it a privilege when God in His mercy makes grace available to you in certain areas of life. The grace of God in the life of a man makes people to root for him. When people begin to seek and root for you in any area of life be mindful of the fact that God is making grace available for you to fulfill your mandate in life.

Don't see the grace of God over your life as an opportunity to enrich and fulfill your selfish desire and appetite. Be careful not to live by the orientation which says "Use what you have to get what you want" but use what God has given you to please Him and bless humanity.

Be mindful of the fact that whatever God gives you (Beauty, Handsomeness, Anointing, Money, Talent, Riches, Authority) is given for a purpose; and you will give account of how you make use of His gift in your life. Use what God has given you at first to please God and then to fulfill your purpose in life!!!

If there is anything the devil desires for your life, is that you should lose hope and give up on God's promises for your life. The essence of the challenges you are having is to prompt you not to believe what God wants to make out of your life. You are not defeated until you accept defeat and give up on what God has said concerning you.

As you proceed in destiny, you must not stop believing in God and what you are trusting Him to make out of your life no matter how terrible the situation may appear to be. Wait for His help and salvation no matter how it tarries in every situation of life. Hold your head high at all times to fulfill your mandate in the land of the living.

The ultimate plan of God for your life in every facet of life is His manifestation. Even when the situation around you suggests or predicts death, always remember God promised manifestation!!!

There is no doubt in the fact that we will not but come to point where everything around us will suggest death. You are likely to come to particular terms where life situation will rule out the fulfillment of some of your dreams and the words of God peculiar to life and destiny. Life can equally give you some instances and valid evidence of the need to give up.

Jesus said some but not all; who are standing with him will not taste death! Your faith matters in this case because your faith determines your experience. If you have faith; the word of the Lord to you is that you will not taste death until you see His intervention in every issue peculiar to your life and destiny.

Even when you don't know how God will work out the fulfillment of His word in your life in the face of glaring evidence of death, you just have to believe and keep faith alive. God told Simeon that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah (Luke 2:26). It happened just as the Lord promised him. As you are advancing towards the end of the year the word of the Lord for you is that you will not taste death but you will experience divine intervention of the Lord in every facet of your life!!!

Every man no matter how great cannot live forever in the land of the living. Nothing is actually permanent. However, change is constant in every domain.

Whatever the situation of your life might have appeared to be it is meant to come to pass. As a living soul you must not forget the words of the preacher about various times and seasons (Eccl 3:1-11) and the fact that God makes everything beautiful at His own time.

Before now you have been faced with several life's challenges which is now a testimony. This is an important signal to you that the present issues of your life will eventually pass away. No matter how tough it may appear to be it has an expiring date.

The Israelites couldn't believe it when they saw the deliverance of the Lord in the land of their slavery. It happened just like a dream. This is how the Lord will also put an end to your problems, misery, sickness, trouble. After every weeping of the night there is always joy in the morning.

Don't give up on God whatever the situation may be but keep your faith alive in Him to bring to pass His promises over your life and turning your sorrow into Joy, weeping into laughter, mourning into jubilation and poverty into prosperity.

A man derails from the perfect plan of God for his life at every point he chooses to do contrary to the will of God to walk out of His pattern for his life. Every man will surely come to a critical junction which will serve as a turning point where he will decide what his fate will be in destiny.

The manner Jacob spoke about Reuben in the text above indicates that he started very well until he came to a point where he missed it. The only thing he was able to get is that "he will not excel". Joseph equally came to this junction but he chose to focus on doing the will of God and he preserved his mandate.

Your actions today determines what your fate will be tomorrow be it in academics, marriage, career, ministry and other aspect of life. When you take a critical look at the life of people like Adam, Cain, Saul, Gehazi, Esau etc. you will discover that there is no other way to miss it in destiny than to disobey the word of God.

The essence of the promises the devil is making to every living soul is to have you bow to him. There is nothing you can get through unrighteousness without bowing to the devil!!!

Our Lord came to a point at the onset of His ministry on earth, where the devil came to test Him in a bid to make Him fail exactly the way Adam failed in the beginning. The devil adopted the strategy of fake promises similar to the one he used for Adam and Eve. You also, as long as you live, will always get to the the junction of having an option of bowing to the devil.

There are several people who are bowing down to the devil today in different dimensions. Each time a man considers and does contrary to the word of God to act contrary to His will, he is worshiping the devil.
The word of God says:
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (Rom 6:16).

It is an established fact that God cannot tell you to steal, kill, backbite, embezzle, fight, keep malice, display unforgiveness, engage in any act of unrighteousness etc. The one you truly serve dictates the tune of your life.

+ In what way are you bowing to sin, flesh, worldliness and devil? What is taking you out of God's favour and mercy? What is the source of what you have?

The heart of a man is deceitful and desperately wicked. At every critical junction of decision making do not follow your heart but the will of God for you!!!

Each time you find yourself at a critical junction of decision making and there is a counsel advising you to follow your heart; do not yield to such but submit yourself to obey the words of God for your life. If you should consider most of the thoughts that run through your heart you will discover they are characterized by both good and evil thoughts.

This is why the word of God admonished us to guard our heart with all diligence because out of it comes the issues of life (Prov 4:23). Hence, your heart is not to be followed but the word of God for you. Gehazi heard the word of God from Elisha that it was not the time to collect gift but he followed his heart and became leprous. Ammon in an attempt to follow his heart based on the advice of his friend Jonadab raped Tamar; this singular act occasioned his untimely death (2Sam 13).

That man who was caught in a shameful act must have been deceived by his heart that he would scale through. Your heart is not to be followed but the word of God. Give priority to what God is saying about your marriage, career, academics, ministry, business etc. than your heart.

The problem of man begins the day he chooses not to follow divine order. Each time a man decides in his heart not to follow the instructions of the Lord presented to him at a point in time; he tends towards having complications in his destiny. The original plan of God for man was that he should be upright and live a life free from complications by submitting to God through discipleship.

The issues in the life of King Solomon, who began his reign in a promising fashion, started when he began to seek several schemes contrary to God's scheme for his life and had no one to guide him in discipleship. As you proceed in destiny, be mindful of the fact that your life will only be free from various life's complications in marriage, relationship, career, ministry, job, business, academics etc if and only if you follow divine order by submitting yourself to follow God's principles in discipleship. There is no alternative to obeying God's principles if you must fulfill God's purpose in every facet of life!!!

What you do in the secret determines your real personality. There is nothing you do in the secret that will not be made public. A man who is battling with lust in his heart will one day be overpowered by it to do something shameful that will be made known to the public. The process which makes the glory of a man to become shame does not start the day his shameful act was made public but a process in the secret.

Every growth happens in the secret. The seed you sow in the secret is the fruit people will see. When your secret life is bad, your growth will be stunted and your presentation will be shameful. Sow righteous seeds and place priority in pleasing God even when no one is placing a watch on your life. Place more value in building a formidable secret life which promotes righteousness in every facet of life. The secret life of a man is what determines how much value God will place on him!!!

There is no man who is overpowered by lust that will not be caught in the web of shameful act. The human nature is very weak against lust of all categories; walking in the spirit is the only antidote a lust!!!

When a man is overpowered by lust he will do the unthinkable. Portiphar's wife was overpowered by lust that she disregarded her status to allow a common slave to lay with her. The same also happened to King David; he slept with Uriah's wife and occasioned the death of her husband.

In the media these days, unthinkable things like immorality, embezzlement, assault, assassination etc perpetrated by people who should uphold righteousness and moral virtue has become the order of the day because they yielded to the works of the flesh and were overpowered by it.

No anointing or even exposure to the word of God can deliver a man from lust but walking in the spirit. The man who is walking in the spirit is not the man who is speaking in tongues but the man who walks and work in obedience to God's will in the manner such is led by the Spirit of God at a point in time.

You will always come in contact with men who have been overpowered by lust and they will try all they could in their capacity to lure you like the case of Joseph. When this happens find strength in God not to lose your guard; if you do, you will do something shameful that will lead to an indelible negative mark in your destiny.

Irrespective of your position and status in life; the fact still remains that you are created to be a blessing to your world. The Lord has placed at your disposal what you need, to be an extension of His hand to men in the land of the living!!!

There is a reward for every man who submits himself to be used by God to meet the needs of men. Every cup of cold water given in Jesus name is never given in vain. Someday, we will surely meet our Lord in heaven where each deed of kindness will bring a rich reward.

Do not hesitate to help the widows, orphans and people in their needs. Heal the sick ones and bind the heart that bleeds. Don't forget that feeding the hungry is an ultimate concern for the Lord; this is how we should serve Him and demonstrate His love.

Preach the Gospel to sinners who have gone astray; hold up the Gospel light so that they can find a way. Lifting the falling, this we must surely do if we must fulfill our callings as true Christians.

When the Lord is set to offer the best gift to a man; He offers Himself to him. To Abraham in his trying period He said "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward. (Gen 15.1). The life of a man is not designed to be in isolation to his creator.

Therefore, God in His infinite mercy always offer Himself to all generation. This is because, He knows that there is a point you will get to in life where what you think you have and everything you are made of will not be enough to give you the required peace and calm.

When situations like waters, rivers and fire comes; do not consider it strange, it is part of life. Always seek to see God in those situations when they come. His provision is that; He will always be available for you and with this, the river of life will not sweep over you nor the fire of life consume you.

One of those things you must not but always remember is the fact that God does not do evil. The Devil is the one behind every form of evil you can see. Our Lord Jesus in the parable of wheat and tares, made it clear that the tares in the midst of the wheat are the works of the enemy the devil. The Lord allows them for a purpose.

The parable made it clear to us that the Lord allows evil to occur for a definite purpose. The beauty of it is that even from the beginning, He had declare judgement on every work of the enemy. Hence, each time the Lord allows evil in the lives of His people, it is for their own good and to do His good pleasure.

This is evident in the lives of the likes of Job, Joseph, David, Daniel, Abraham etc. During their ordeal it was as if the evil will swallow them; but on the contrary, it achieved the good pleasure of God in their lives. Identify the true workings of God in your life and rebuke every evil works of the enemy. Don't hesitate to always appreciate God in all situation of life. Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it. We may receive it gladly, with thankful hearts. (1Tim.4:4 NLT)

Irrespective of your experience in the land of the living you must be mindful of the fact that better days lie ahead. The fact that you have failed in various aspect of life doesn't mean that you are a failure. There is no man who succeeded in certain areas of life that has not experienced failure or set back at a point in time. To let go of your past is a way to forge ahead!!!

In relationships, people will not but offend you. They will break your heart and betray you. You must not live your life thinking about what others have done to you. You must find grace in God to put what evil men have done to you behind you. Forgiving those who have wronged you is critical to your success, newness of life and favour with God.

Don't allow your past to hold you down. Be open to God for a new experience. Letting go of your past will paved way for you in your desert and give you a spring of living water in your wilderness. There is more to life and what God wants to do in your life than licking the wounds you sustained in the past. You are not set for the glorious future ahead of you when your focus is on your past!!!

Focus: The Soul Who Sins

Irrespective of who you are and what you have achieved so far in life, be it physically or spiritually; the fact still remains that you are a soul before God. The verdict of God over every soul that sins is death!!!

"The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him."(Ezekiel 18:20 NIV)

There is no man who will go to heaven as a man of God; Bishop, General Overseer, Reverend, Pastor, Evangelist, Prophet etc. Every man will return back to God as a soul. You must always remember that you are a soul before God and that He sees you as a soul. God is no respecter of persons but only accepts from every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right (Acts 10:34-36).

Don't be eaten up by the titles you bear, what you do in the name of God or your spiritual attainments; committing sin is what makes you a sinner. The wages of sin is death for all men who commits sin. To deceive yourself is to do a great harm to your soul. If you are still wallowing in sin, the indication is that you need help.

When you are sick you don't go to the hospital as a man of great personality but as a patient. Don't hide under the garment of spiritual titles and activities; seek the face of God and confess your sins so as to obtain favour and mercy before the Lord.

Many times people don't see the possibility of enjoying life or having their needs met through righteousness. This does not change the fact that true blessing comes from the Lord and only righteousness exalts a nation. Everything you need for your life and destiny will only be made available to you through what the Lord gives.

Joseph chose not to fornicate with Portiphar's wife. Daniel developed a purpose of heart not to defile himself. The three Hebrews considered not their high placements and chose not to bow to the golden image. All these men eventually had the life God wanted to give them by placing ultimate priority to God's will for their lives. They got in multiple fold what they would have gotten if they had done otherwise in addition to God's presence in their lives.

There is nothing a man has that can be enough and what he does not have cannot give him the joy he requires at every point in time. As long as you live, be mindful of the fact that the life you have is the greatest gift from God to you. If there is anything you are aspiring for; the very day you achieve it, that very day your excitement over it will decrease over time.

Several men in their quest for riches and worldly possessions rejected the life God wanted to give them. The likes of Gehazi and Achan lost out in the plan of God for their lives when through worrying of what will become of their future took in possession what they ought not to take. You need to examine your life to see if the worries of what tomorrow will be or how you will meet the pressing need of your life has not prompted you into sinning against God.

Right from ages past, God has the habit of giving His people the specification of how His work should be. Only God Himself can do His own work in His own way. Hence, men ought to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit in every divine assignment. In everything you claim to do for God, if it is not your own thing but for God; it must be done for Him and in His own way.

Jesus made an illustration, that several men will do several things in the name of God but God Himself will not claim the responsibility because such people only used His name to achieve their selfish desire and not for His glory. There is no work of God done in a wrong way that is acceptable to Him. Uzzah died trying to help God in a wrong way according to His standard; God did not spare him just to establish this fact that doing anything for Him must be done according to His own specifications.

Whenever you come close to God's work or any divine assignment, what you should seek is His specification and do it accordingly. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and keep your will in check because no matter how wonderful the works of the flesh appear to be; God will not accept it. To walk and work in the flesh on behalf of God is to walk and work in vain!!!

Many a man gave their lives to God just because they heard that doing so will bring healing, blessing, promotion, freedom, prosperity, protection and the likes; but not to really repent from their sinful ways and live for Him.

They appeared to be following God but not with a perfect heart. They came looking for resources to glorify and manage their sinful nature. Their service is not unto the Lord but to the idols in their heart.

The Lord will never allow them to experience the fullness of His kingdom. They cannot come to His Hill because no matter what He does for them; will never be for His benefit and the fullfillment of His purpose on earth. If they are still available for God; it is because what will take them away from God's presence has not come. Also, when their expections are not met they become offend and seek for alternative.

What do you seek? What are you living for? The Lord will not share His glory with anyone! He knows your heart and the motive behind everything you do. Put away every idol from your heart and live your entire life fulfilling His purpose.

A very great height of foolishness is identified each time a man neglects the counsel of God in every affair of life. It is only a fool that knows the will of God and chooses to do otherwise or knows the consequence of an action and still goes ahead to do it. What you say in your heart matters alot and determines who you are.

"Who will/can challenge me?", "There is none like me!", "I am invincible", " I am better than them", "There is nothing they can do without me", "I can do and undo", "Nobody can stop me" are the languages of a fool. Nebuchadnezzar said to the 3 Hebrews: "Who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?" But God revealed himself and proved to him that he was indeed a fool; his folly was treated in the wilderness for Seven Years (Dan 4:28-37).

Goliath became a fool the day he defied the armies of the Lord (1Sam 17:35). King Herod was so foolish that he took the glory which belonged to God (Acts 12:21-24). When a man begins to accept any feeling or deliberate in his heart that he is something without due reverence to God and His will, he becomes a fool.

Each time you look at yourself and discover something precious about your life, know that your life is a hunted life; the devil is highly interested in your life.

Have you at any time made a critical analysis about your life and asked yourself that: "What is so special about my life?" "Why is the devil so keen and having so much interest about my life?" "Why can't he just leave me alone to live my life and stop tempting and exploring my weaknesses?" The truth is that when you are still special to God and with several wonderful virtues in terms of talent, anointing and special endowment to fulfill God's purpose and mandate; your life is a target for destruction.

The devil doesn't bother much about those who have nothing to offer. Hence, you must be careful not to sacrifice your God's given virtue and eternal destiny on the altar of sin and unrighteousness. Be careful of the unrighteous mammon and strange women around you. Give no room to the devil to turning your glory to shame!

When the Lord begins to decorate your life with splendor in whatever capacity in the land of the living, be mindful of the fact that whatever your life depicts is a subset or minute reflection of what God is, you are just a bearer of His glory.

The man who knows and believe that all kingdoms, power and glory belongs to God will always humble himself before Him and live with the orientation that after God it is God and He is all in all. Nebuchadnezzar at a point came to this critical submission that all power belongs to God. We have seen people who have power, riches, estates and material possessions but left them when death came.

Only God is God and there is none like Him. There is nothing a man can do than what God allows him to do. Hence, live your every day life declaring the fact that all Kingdoms, power and glory belongs to God.

All men who lost control over their destiny began with being tempted. They found themselves in a situation they never thought they would ever be and forfeited the life God wants to give them.

Joseph did not yield to temptation and he had his destiny in God intact. When Gehazi saw the things Naaman brought that was rejected by Elisha, he said in his heart, "I can get it and I will catch up with him get some things." This singular act represented a negative turning point in his life and destiny. Each time you pray do not hesitate to ask God to help you so that you will not be led into temptation. To flee from sin is to flee from several evils!!!

When relating with men you must never forget that they are people with the sinful nature who can be ruled with the works of the flesh at a point in time. As it is with them, so it is with you. Hence, we will only please God in our relationship with men when we walk in the spirit. In every gathering you find yourself you must not but live with the orientation of love; because it covers multitude of sin.

Be mindful of the fact that wherever you find men be it in a church, fellowship, organization there you will find imperfections. Hence, there is nothing like perfect church, fellowship, organization. The only perfect part of any gathering of men is that part the Holy Spirit is in charge. Wherever there is love things appear perfect.

Don't say you are leaving your church or gathering for another. Sometimes, people look wonderful and glorious when you are looking at them from afar. If there is anything not good about your gathering pray to God about it and let the change you so much desire begin with you by walking and working in the Spirit. You must be patient with men, knowing fully well that they can change and get better.

Joseph who was a slave in Egypt became a prime minister; the second in command to Pharaoh. At a point, there was a declaration of his death to his father; who mourned him and accepted the fact that he had died. However, those who brought the news of his death were the people who declared the news of his glory.

It does matter what people have said or are saying about your life based on what your experience has been over the time; if you remain in the will of God and wait on Him; His glory will be revealed in your life and all men will see it (Isaiah 40:5). Those who saw your misery will also witness the glory of God in your life to validate your testimony.

As you proceed in destiny be mindful of the fact that it pays to serve Jesus. An expected end of great glory that money cannot buy awaits all men who serve God with great commitment and faithfulness. You can only be assured of bearing the glory of God if you remain in His divine plan and purpose for your life.

We mustn't allow such to hinder us from moving unto the promised land for our lives. We must always go on in life trusting only in God and living with the orientation that it is only the Lord who promised never to leave nor forsake us.

You may find yourself in a relationship heart break and everything seems as if you may never get the best in relationship. Don't subscribe to such words of discouragement from the devil. Atimes, God allows us to lose some things so that we will be available to get the best He prepared for our lives.

In your spiritual journey, you will find yourself falling at times, when this happens you must believe that you can rise again and perform better than ever. You sometimes try to improve in business and you find yourself running at a loss. Don't allow the situation to keep you from trying more; you can still make it.

What setback does is to discourage you from forging ahead unto your promised land. In every occasion of setback learn how to find strength in God and move on in the direction of God's plan for your life!!!

The God we serve is God who values productivity. He has over the time revealed through His word that He detests unproductivity. Whenever the Lord sends rain He does that purposely to ensure productivity. Similarly, when God fails to send rain then famine is looming. There is no man who invests on something with the aim of experiencing a loss. If a man will not, God will not as well.

There is no doubt in the fact that God has done so much for you. He will not be asking too much from your life, if He demands that you should be productive for Him. The verdict he placed on every land on which He sends rain is that such a land will receive blessing from Him if it bears good fruits but the land will receive curse and be burnt if it produces thorns.

We must ensure that our lives is productive; bearing the fruit of the spirit and that of righteousness. God is glorified whenever we are productive. We must abide in Him always and allow Him to do His good pleasure in us.

Most times, the actual answer to the prayer offered will only come by walking in the direction of the instruction given by God in the course of praying. Therefore, when you speak to God about any issue be attentive enough to hear what He will say about it.

A prayerless man is a foolish man who faces the future as if he knows it. Pray to God always and pray about everything. To pray correctly you must understand the mind of God. It is not enough to get a result through prayers; real prayer brings about divine intervention.
