A famous scholar once said that "the primary duty of any government is to protect and ensure the security of its citizens, both from external and internal aggression. The clamour coming from many prominent Nigerians and civil society group like the Sultan of Sokoto, cardinal Onaiyekan, Bola Tinubu, Arewa Consultative forum etc to grant amnesty to the boko haram sect just to ensure that peace returns to the northern part of Nigeria can be said to among the most insensitive things ever advocated for by these people. The notoriety associated to the Boko Haram sect stands in a class of its own, the sect has carried out unprecedented amount of attacks against not just security forces but against innocent citizens of Nigeria. The attacks perpetrated by the sect can not be catalogue intoto, but the most gruesome of such attacks was that of the December 25th christmas day bombing masterminded by the infamous Kabiru Sokoto who up till this very moment is still being prosecuted by the judiciary. Another of such attack was that of the bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja and also that of the Police headquarters, also in Abuja. It is worthy to note that these attacks and many more of its kind left many Nigerians dead, maimed and incapacitated, people who have families, and happened to be bread winners of their families. Everybody in Nigeria is not an enemy to the harsh conditions of living in Nigeria, and with the bread winners of these people who were murdered in cold blood by Boko Haram, left in the cold to starve and decay, one can say that should the Federal Government of Nigeria grant amnesty to Boko Haram, they have failed in their primary duty which is to protect the life and property of Nigerians and they are sending Nigerians a cryptic message that any person or group of person can get away with crime. I'll want to state that those people who were murdered in cold blood deserve justice, their death should not just be neglected like the death of so many others... The United States of America went through great length to reaffirm the trust of its citizens by ensuring that those who masterminded the 9-11 attacks were held accountable, even though it took them a decade to do so. Why some Nigerians are calling for amnesty for the sect is something one can hardly understand. So, rather than trying to cuddle these faceless murderers by listening to some insensitive Nigerians shouting for amnesty for the Sect, the Federal Government should live up to its responsibilities by bringing members of Boko Haram Sect to justice. |
How many of you can do half of leading? With all this pointless factless chats its evident the future still remains with corrupt leaders. Education has not helped many people else this I suppose should a forum for intellectuals not narrow minded ever swearing kids.
Very well put my good man! Its almost a norm that nairaland is a forum now filled with shallow minded individuals!. You post a thread and call for constructive criticisms instead you get insults... Only shallow minded halfwits behave in this manner! |
To me corruption doesn't just involve Fedearl, State and Local governments, it boils down to the individual!. Over invoicing, inflated contracts, abandoned projects, all these are the hand work of individuals or group of individual! So coRruption is emcompassing! However I'll want to question the rationale behind this post. The OP has a long history for being too pro GEJ, every one of his post has been geared to promote GEJ and his tactless decisions. Ergo I'll say as long as the average Nigerian still remains corrupt in his thinking and actions, corruption is on the increase. |
The current situation in our country makes it very hard for for to perform his/her civic responsibilities. Our leaders makes it very difficult for one to do this! But before I even say anything, let me ask this question: Has Nigeria perform her duties to her citizens? It is a shame that almost nobody feels committed and dedicated to perform his or her obligations, our leaders make it very difficult for one to do this, as in those who have served this country delligently are being owed their pension. Look at the living conditions of our ex service men and you'll be appalled by what you see, they've been totally neglected and left to rot away. The experience of the police pension thief is more than enough for one not to feel obligated for perform his/her civic duties. But I'll say this: it pays to do the right thing!!!. |
I read this article earlier today in daily mail online and I just couldn't phantom why these northerners are so full of crap! Imagine them saying they sympathize with the families of those whom Boko Haram murdered. How about these northern elders demand for justice for the slain and maimed! If these atrocities were carried out against muslims I believe they'll be singing their song of terror! These people are hypocrites, sycophants and sentimental asswipes! |
Verily I say unto thee, I find not one of these our present crop of politicians worthy of my vote! But in a situation where you findeth many devils, you chose the lesser devil!. So I'll go with may be Tunde Bakare and Raji Fashola! Irrespective of the party they allign with, as long as it is not the PDP!. |
What wil the PDP not defend theses days? Am astonish that these same people will still come out and ask Nigerians to vote for them! The nerve these advocatus diaboli's have! |
Sincere 9gerian: There's no point trying to challenge a senseless article. This is the oil multinationals fighting back to stall passage of PIB. All their effort is dead on arrival. QED.Please put a sock in it! When you came out your own artile what did you call all those who refuted your claim? I've often wondered why you are this myyopic! Must everybody support your GEJ?! I this world people will hate you, people will love you, it is only those who live in a dream world that would like everybody to love them. Just like you and the falsehood you represent! Away from here... |
Sincere 9gerian: I cant believe you'r relating a simple mix up of figures of what happened in 2007 to your inability to own up to the thread you created few days ago.Own up to what? "The bashing I received?" Like the bashing you've been receiving right? You speak as if you are clean of this so called bashing! Compare the ones I receive to the ones you receive, I believe yours are far greater than mine. Just cause an individual lost an election you label him a "loser" you are very myopic! I see no reason why I should continue this with you, please earn your salary very well! Maybe one day your boss's ineptitude will catch up to you. |
D sage: Is paying the unemployed graduates a solution to lack of enough jobs for them?NYSC has a comprehensive list of all those who passed out! Besides I believe if the pay graduates N20,000 naira monthly, most of them will become lazy and satisfied with the stipend they get. |
I got this message on my blackberry phone and it got me thinking hard. In 1979, Bamanga Tukur was the Governor of the defunct Gongola State (now Adamawa & Taraba) and 33 years later he is today the Chairman of the ruling Party The PDP. Dr. Bello Halliru was commissioner in the Old Sokoto State (now Sokoto, Kebbi & Zamfara) and 33 years later he is today Minister of Defence. Major General David Mark (rtd) was the military governor of Niger State in 1984 and 28 years Later he is today the Senate President. Gov. Murtala Nyako was the governor of Niger State in 1976 and 36 years later he is today the Governor of Adamawa State. Ogbonnaya Onu was governor of Abia State in 1992 and 20 years later he is today the National Chairman of ANPP. Gov. David Jonah Jang was the governor of Benue State in 1985 and 27 years later he is today the governor of plateau state. Martins Elechi the Ebonyi State Governor is over 80 years old!. IBB was the military President of Nigeria, for nine years, Buhari who is in his seventies was HOS of Nigeria, so was OBJ, these men happen to be very old and they are stake holders in the Nigerian political system. Funny I don't remember George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Nixon, Tony Blair, Margareth Thatcher, Yuri Andropov etc being key decision makers and taking part in government when their time is past! I wonder when the next generation will occupy the helm of politics in Nigeria when these old men still run amok in Nigerian Polity! |
Sincere 9gerian: Stop feigning ignorance. Abuses, insults and name calling can never be criticisms? If that is your definition of criticisms, then something is wrong. And who is calling who names? I didn't see fit to create a thread to ridicule Buhari Period! Ashamed of such flip flops? Aren't you ashamed for saying Yar'Adua reduced fuel price from N65 to N60! Kai. The nerve you have, I starting to believe your a self righteous narcissist! Shouldn't GEJ be ridicule like my oga @ d top.. I believe you can read! I ask a simple question, if you believe he should be ridicule, state your reasons, if you believe not, state your reasons simple! How is that so hard for you to comprehend? Abi u wan make I statrt to dey teach you ABC again? Lol. |
Sincere 9gerian: Who created this threadOf course I did! If you did your research very well you'll discover I also created similar thread address to Oritsejafor! And I didn't forget Buhari's comment, even when he said "those who rigged the 2011 elections should have expected"... And you know how he was criticize because of that! Even I criticize him! So why do you blink an eye lid each time someone criticize your boss!. You should know criticisms are part of life! They make us aware of our faults so we can work on them. |
Sincere 9gerian: Because you challenged me I decided to do a 5minutes scanning of some of your latest. I discovered that:So unlike you am very sincere! A point well observed, and just so you know, I criticise GEJ not because I hate him, its because I believe he sits on his ass and do nothing when things are falling apart around him. He is the president, the number one decision maker, not buhari, not tinubu but him, tell me what decision have Buhari or Tinubu made that cause rancour or generated the kind of rancour our President made? Let me answer that, NONE!. As for me mobilizing support to ridicule GEJ, I believe that's a figment of your imagination. |
...i just listened to Oritsejiofor preached on the pulpit and am filled with grace,so i have forgiven you, learn to be a good boy next time and desist from defamation!
Now I see! Your forgiveness is as useless as an epmty box of matches! Oritsejafor is your Pastor! No wonder. |
..you started a meaningless thread and you expect us to applaud you!your thread itself was anchored on insult and with bad intentions,we know your type too well.
Please I don't want the likes of you to applaud me! If my thread is meaningless, that's your opinion and the last time I checked, your opinion doesn't mean shit! So stop saying "we" and speak for yourself!. |
aasog1: More Xtains have died under his watch. More churches have been bombed and blown up. And what is he doing, hes getting a private jet for defending the President for not securing the lives of these xtains. we all know the problem isnt Bokoharam. The problem is their sponsors. Without the swamp, there cant be mosquitoes. Drain the swamps, and the mosquitoes will disappear. Someone is supplying these bombs, financing this mayhem, and the president has the Israelis, the Americans, the British, even our JTF and SSS supplying him with solid intelligence, but im certain the real culprits are been spared....SHM, the former senator found to be a sponsor is still a senator. How pathetic. I find it odd GEJ is watching all this, and hes hiding his weakness behind rule of law. But the most saddest thing is the people who will fault my observations are not even people from the SS, but people from the SE, and they are majorly the primary target of these killings. Anyways, I wish you all the best in voting GEJ in 2015 so more of your people in the North can get wantonly killed while he plays politics with the lives of these innocent souls, and you keep defending their blood-shed. And the loudest voice in defending on GEJ and his incredible incompetence is the head of CAN. Lol.Your observations are very constructive, unlike some fools who would resort to insults to prove their foolishness! |
...the most silly and idi^otic thread of the year, your hate for Gej is being transfered to CAN.more like transferred aggression,i thought you wld spare some time to criticise the sultan of sokoto, who is the head of all muslims in Nigeria, for doing nothing while his backyard is on fire,i thought boko haram started in his constituency!Oritsejiofor remains the most active and radical CAN president in a very long time!i call him comrade pastor, while other admirers choose to liken him to other troubled period men of God,like Bishop Desmond tutu,Rev.Jessy Jackson etc...as for the Igbos,we shall always stand out from the rest,we must always stand for justice, fairness and the rule of law, until the actualization of the 'zionist state of biafra',so you can go hug the transformer!no matter the political and religiously motivated killing of igbos in the north,in the name of boko haram, you can never suppress our strong will,we shall definatly get there!'the blood of saints waters the trees of freedom'!
My good man, permit me to tell you categorically that you are a Tribalist! What has this thread got to do with your tribe?!! Park well abeg. |
Sincere 9gerian: "Those who play football earn fantastic amount of cash by doing so honestly"I believe you know what is honest and what is not! You don't need me to speel it out to you do you?, saying you don't have the time to peruse through my post is a big fat lie, I know you and I know you have a penchant for digging up information, what you should have said is, you can't find any. To answer your question, I said Buhari, GEJ, Tinubu and co are birds of the same feather because they will all do the same thing just to attain political power, sell their birth rights and neglect the very people they are suppose to protect and serve. I don't believe I've ever called GEJ names (I stand to be corrected). I believe the reason why people do so is because he is the President! When OBJ was the President he was also called all sorts of names. Your lies and deceit will catch up with you soon. |
Sincere 9gerian: How much do those who enjoy themselves by playing football earn? Many of the earn far more than $1million. So if enjoy myself on this forum and still earn such amount of money, its cool. Those who play football earn fantastic amount of cash by doing so honestly! You earn a living by spreading lies and deceit! You accuse me of being under Tinubu's payroll, please I challenge you to come up with a link showing me giving Tinubu praises just like the ones your giving GEJ! Please I urge you to stopusing Nairaland as a means to spread falsehood, lies and deceit. For your information, Tinubu, Buhari, GEJ and co are all birds of the same feathers. |
Sincere 9gerian: So what will you do about that? Commit suicide? You wish! I understand you now. Its not that am going to do anything about it! It just proves that as long as the price is right, YOU sincere 9gerian can slit your mothers throat! (No offense). And am fully aware every man has a price. So no need to stress that fact!. |
Sincere 9gerian: I receive $1million every month. Are you jealous? Can you beat that? Its far far more than the stipends some haters receive from Tinubu. At last you finally admit that you are under tha payroll of GEJ! "The truth shall set you frEe". |
Sincere 9gerian: .What does . Signifies? |
SlyIg: Op, if na you, wetin you for do?I'll do the right thing. |
Sincere 9gerian vs Nairalanders! Come to think of it Mr Sincere 9gerian, I'vee never seen you post anything negative about GEJ, as the saying goes "nobody is perfect" surely your boss GEJ isn't, or is he? |
At last something positive that affects the masses positively! I sure hope NCC stay true to this because one thing we lack in this country is consistency! Judging by the way the NCC sat back for a long time and "watched things fall apart" with the telecomms operators. |
I want to believe that ever since Ayo Oritsejafor took over the mantle as Head of Christian Association of Nigeria, he has been almost as docile and dormant as the GEJ administration. However the one thing the Man Of God is extremely good at is condemning the actions of Boko Haram whenever they decide to show the whole world just how stupid and recalcitrant they are. I was kind of hoping to hear the Man Of God voice his displeasure when GEJ pardoned our infamous escapee Alameiyeseigha. One might even notice that almost all decisions carried out by GEJ administration that has evoke wide spread condemnation both at home and abroad have been greeted with nonchalance by the Head Of CAN. So other than his arrant criticisms of Boko Haram, what else have the Man Of God done so far?. |
Chubhie: bro which ever way you look at it, both Mend and Boko have commited a crime by declaring war against the state.....Mend was able to hit the very source of govt revenue before they could be granted amnesty....assuming Mend where only bombing citizens and kidnapping do you think the govt will even mind them? What does this tell you bout your govt? The govt is willing to sacrifice the blood of the masses to boko as long as nothing stops the flow of free money. If truely boko wants amnesty a change in plan will land them some. As a citizen, would you mind if using extreme force or granting amnesty returns peace to the land?My good man, there's a difference between boko haram and MEND! Please do a thorough research, there modus operandi defer! But none the less I understand where your coming. My question to you is what will happen to the victims? Don't you think they deserve justice? |
thelastPope: Bros, you didnt read my post well. I said I support it as long as they foot the bill and settle the BH boys from their purse. Its their monster they created. let them bare their cross!I understand you very well! Even if they pay these morons from their pockets what about the innocent blood they shed! Surely the slaughtered, bombed and maimed deserve justice, don't you think so? |
thelastPope: I support it too as long as they pay them from their yam and groundnut sales. gbam!support what? mind you MEND did not bomb churches on a large scale and neither did they slaughter people like rams ment for Illeya festival. These guys have proved that they are monsters who lack human feelings. They should be treated like dogs, atleast we know who MEND, MASSOB are. |
Sometimes am wholesomely amazed by the shear amount of gibberish that comes out of the mouth of some of these northerners! it is without question that they (Arewa Youth Forum) are a bunch of tribalistic morons who have always believed that they are above the laws of the land. |
Well am not surprised at all, everything has been nothing more than a ruse.... Many of them here who opened their mouth and shouted 'power supply has improved' have now swallowed the very words that spewed out of their mouth. |
