DomPerignon: You are now dragging Islam and Muslims into this case when you know that this dude served as a copper in Akwuzu SARS and worked closely with some shoddy police officers to help track their next victim for extortion .
The guy's problem started when he felt he wasn't appreciated enough by the crooked officers he was working with. He then blew the whistle on their extortion racket that was targeting mostly yahoo boys. The entire set up here is ibo. From the officers that arrested him and arraigned him in a federal high court.
The judge who granted him bail is a northerner but the bail was never approved by the court registrar who is Ibo as well and obviously working with the Police officers he indicted.
The guy even created a thread here on what was going on in Akwuzu SARS.
So don't bring Muslims, Islam and northerners into what is purely an ibo affair. Wow. You have the thread link? |

pointblank247: thank God that she made it clear to the "other guy" that sex would not be involved, a condition she didn't give to you. Meaning, the "other guy" was just a plan B Incase you disappoint her. Most Nigerian girls watching Nollywood are like that. You are still the main guy in her life. This is exactly how I see the matter too. She had no plans to cheat on him sexually or take the other guy to meet her family - she was just putting a plan B in place in case you fail. The person that said OP's overreacting may have a point. If op chooses to continue with her, he should explain to her that he does not appreciate lies (she lied about being in a relationship). But he can only do this if he's not fond of lying to her himself. |

The devices help terrorists escape
Yes, satellite phone brands like Thuraya or Iridium used by legit folks and unfortunately terrorists can be tracked with sophisticated tools that are ONLY available in some countries, though it can be hard to track or challenging for others. There are various methods used including analyzing frequency emissions, using GPS/location data, exploiting device identifiers (IMEI/IMSI), tracking network connections (even international ones), and leveraging provider data through legal requests, with advanced SIGINT sensors capable of detecting and geolocating them from the air.
How They Can Be Tracked: Frequency & Signal Analysis: Specialized sensors (SIGINT) can detect the unique radio signals from satellite phones, identifying the brand and location as soon as they're activated.
GPS & Built-in Location: Most sat-phones have GPS; this built-in feature can be exploited for tracking, or network-assisted GPS can pinpoint them.
Device Identifiers: Unique numbers like the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) can be monitored across networks, allowing authorities to watch a specific device's movements. Hmm. Interesting. |

Politics › Re: Police Withdrawal: DSS Officers Lobby For VIP Escort Roles by JuanDeDios: 3:58pm On Dec 13, 2025 |
Webmasterchidi: This is exactly what happens when policy gaps appear. Once police escorts were withdrawn, a vacuum was created, and everyone is trying to fill it. DSS officers lobbying for ‘juicy’ postings shows the system still prefers protecting VIPs instead of ordinary Nigerians.
If the goal is to secure communities, then security agencies must resist turning protection into privilege. Otherwise, insecurity just shifts location, not solved. Brilliant assessment. The gap is the problem. VIPs need protection (it's part of police work, people!), so once police were withdrawn, something has to fill in. I expect most of them to have soldiers or naval ratings or DSS before the expiration of a week. Or the policemen will be quietly returned. Announcing that you're withdrawing police to replace them with NSCDC, only to the withdraw the police without having trained NSCDC in VIP protection or deploying them for the said job, has to be the most hair-brained thing I've seen this year. |
